Time to open a new thread, because I can't find anything about this new Pure Android 4.4.4 S160 HeadUnit.
I think there is much to discuss about this unit. Help me to complete this thread.
==============================================================================================================
After the arrival of the S100 and S150.... now there is the Android S160 Head Unit.
There are several companies that bring the S160 on the market:
RoadNav Software Manufacturer
Witson
etc..

How to upgrade your firmware?
1 Download the RoadNav Android S160 firmware for your model here
2 Extract and Copy the files into the SD card and insert the SD card into the GPS Slot (it must be this slot)
3 Power OFF your radio (turn car key to OFF position)
4 Wait about 5-10 minutes for SRC light to go OFF
5 Hold the SRC button and turn car key to ON position. You should hear a beep, keep holding than it beep twice, then loose the source button.
6 Upgrade will start automatically.
7 After about 5 minutes a message at the bottom says Installation complete. BUT, that's not the end of the upgrade.
8 The radio screen goes black and beeps for 1 minute (this is normal, don't touch it !!)
9 After some more updates the "installation is complete please remove card"
10 Remove the SDcard and the radio automatically reboots.

Hi!
I agree. There is a huge amount of information on the S150, but alas, very little for the S160. I installed one of these in my Renault Megane 3 about a week ago and the first impressions are very good. Fits into the car perfectly and in the ROM and software in general seem quite stable. I installed Sygic which runs okayish with a few crashes every now and again. At the time of writing Sygic 15.5.9 is still quite fresh so I hope there will be some improvements in regards to stability in the foreseeable future.
The rest of the pre-installed software is fine and almost everything works out-of-the-box. The CAN bus adapter is also ok and I can see outside temperature, opening of doors, mute on reverse etc...
My only issue is with the Steering Wheel Controls. Volume UP and Volume DOWN as well as MUTE are working fine. My car has a Jog dial for skipping to the next / previous song and unfortunately this is not working. Also I cannot set any SWC button on the settings page. I read a couple of things about ADSet.xml but so far have no concrete idea how I could possibly get the jog dial to work. If anyone has ideas, help would be much appreciated.

M019 differences
Hi guys,
I keep finding units with different code names like M019 , M019-2 and M019-g . Does anyone know the differences between this devices ?
Thanks
Hi all,
Thanks for posting this. I have an S160 and have since found some issues, which I have some questions about:
Is everybody's WIFI terrible? Mine can not get wifi unless it is from my phone hot-spot sitting inside the car, and then it depends on where I place the phone inside the car, and then it will still drop out very often. Basically the WIFI is unusable.
Is there a fix for the terrible wifi? I was thinking I should use an external wifi dongle? Or can I install an external wifi antenna? Or is there a software fix?
Does anybody use an external 4G dongle? Which type?
The radio reception is terrible, is there a fix for this? I was thinking about an antenna booster.
In my car (2013 Ford Ranger) there is a button that says "Phone". When I press it, it tries to play music from my phone, but fails. I would rather have this button go to the phone bluetooth menu. How do I reprogram this button?
Mine uses BT 2.0, some things I want to pair with use BT4.0,
I haven't tried this as I haven't installed the 2nd monitor yet, but If I want to play a movie from the SD card or USB stick, can I send video and sound to the external monitor, and leave the normal interface on the main screen?
Is this the same as when I play a DVD?
Does anybody know of any custom interfaces, or how to customise the standard interface? What about removing the interface all together, and just customising the android UI the way I like it.
How can I change which screen/interface starts on boot, but still have the radio turn on?
Is there a way to speed up boot times?
I can't find the firmware for my unit on the RoadNav site, linked by OP. I can find my MCU version, but not the Model number
Further details of my unit:
To get in to the factory settings on mine, I go to the phone call screen and type "##0323"

Just installed mine into an ix35 with canbus (digital ampifier and sub onboard).
First impressions - works well. Boot times are long, a couple of issues with the aux in and usb, but I think those are an issue with the car's wiring, because the aux in was flakey with the stock headunit too.

Ask for an original firmware from your store.
Then only replace the sdupdate.img with every other later version dowloaded from Roadnav and see if this will fix some of your issues.
Please be patient.

Thanks for the reply @bockywocky but I was talking about M019 in particular, I keep finding different model on different markets various M019 models. By the way , maybe you guys can help me , I was talking to RN_Tao the other day about the fact that my car is an Opel Vectra C 2004 HALF CAN , will the roadnav product m019-2 work on my car without any other adapters ? , in the last email he suggested an SWC interface solution and offered an website . Do you guys know more about this kind of stuff ? .
Now I got a half can radio NCDC 2015.
Does anybody know how to get root on it?
I just bought M362 (Ford Kuga II) and want to tranfer some apps from phone (via TitaniumBackup, so need root). Tried Baidu, Farma and etc - no result.
BTW, M362 have too much bugs. Ford SYNC have no sound at all, cannot re-assign buttons on DVD dashboard (there is app only for steering wheel resistant buttons, dashboard buttons keykodes goes by CAN BUS).
root?
guys, have anyone found a way how to root the unit? I have received fw update from my seller but after flashing that fw I can't install some apps that I had on previous fw, getting error code 24. Need to root and remove residual files from previous version. Any advice please?
cheers

Hello everybody.
I have been scouring the Internet and I searched these threads and I am still coming up empty. I can't map volume up/down or next/previous track. There are a few other bugs but this one is driving me crazy. I am wondering if the seller (Seicane) sent canbus with wrong pin-out. I have a 2010 f150, SYNC, and an Android head unit with these specs:
Model Number M222
Android Version 4.4.4

Has anyone had this issue? And a resolution?
Canbus Integration Issue - 2010 Ford F150
Chip, I am experiencing the same problem as you with my Canbus not completely integrating with my 2010 Ford F150. Have you found a solution to your problem, and if so, do you mind sharing them with me?
based on the Model number "M222" seems like it is probably Seicane selling a RoadNavi.com unit. The S160, but for a Ford.
probably this guy:
http://www.roadnavi.com/product/m222-ford-f150-media-satnav-2009-14/
their forum is fairly active:
https://www.roadnav.com/
I would try that and/or e-mail their support. I found them to be very responsive

Sorry, I missed this. I have not found a solution. I do not believe it is solvable through software, I think they sent the wrong canbus. I am about to ditch the whole thing and chalk it up as a bad experience and go with one of the Android Auto units. If JBL's cp 100 would have been released on time it would be in my truck now. Sony has announced an affordable unit, it also is not shipping yet.
Hello,

Build: 202104281111
Kernel: 4.19.111 #228 Tue 04 27 11:28:26 CST 2021
uboot-04 28 2021-10:34:43_M11 1280x720
MCU
CNS2_D_04282021_174043_V205
CPU: 64 bit 8 Core Cortex-A53 1.5 Ghz 2048MB
But i have a proplem with the cables i got together with the radio, one says 3g / usb and the other one Android Auto, the problem is when i insert a USB key it is being scanned almost for a minute and when the music starts playing it stopps sometimes after 7 seconds, sometimes after 15 seconds and from time to time it looks like as the Radio SW is completely hung and i get no audio in Radio when i switch to it. The only solution is to completely reboot the radio. Any ideas how to fix it? Is it a cable problem or something different? I am not skilled enough to open the radio, just a newbie looking for some easy solution, if there is any of course.
Thank you guys...

Hello everyone. I'm from Germany and I don't speak much English and I work a lot with translation. I apologize for that. I bought the radio but I only have problems with FM radio. it just finds 2 channels, everything else is just hissing. there's a solution for that ? I've already tried changing the antenna, but the problem is with the radio. and I would like to deactivate the reversing camera at R because I don't use it .. can someone help me with that. Thank you for everything.

What car do you have? VW?
Maybe reverse camera can be deactivated in factory settings. Google if you don't know how to enter factory settings. If that doesn't work you have to cut the REVERSE wire.

I think, you need Antenna booster for the radio.
I've just bought booster and finally my radio can received many channel from none (without antenna booster, I cannot receive any single radio signal)

I also remember reading on 4pda that some VW, Audi need this adapter to power the built-in adapter. I couldn't find the post but I found these on Amazon similar to the ones mentioned above:

You never said what kind of car you have. Whether this is required depends on your car.
My car has a 12v connection in the harness for the amplifier in my antenna. I attached the 12v wire on my harness directly to the 12v as I found that the voltage on my head unit was a little lower.
For your car, if there is no specific connection in the harness, it may need one of these adapters to send the 12v through the antenna wire for a built-in signal amplifier. You can try asking the car dealer service or parts department also. Or try a car forum for your car make and model to see if they have additional information.
The A190 link above lists that it works with the following cars:

I have a polo 6R. The antenna adapter in the head unit YT9213AJ seems to have a booster. So I connected the 12V wire for amplifier to it (I don't have an external amplifier). On the other end there is only one FAKRA plug into one of the dual FAKRA socket.
The radio can pick up more than a dozen of stations, but none of them sounds stereo. Until I found there is a "Car Amplifier" button when the top bar is pulled down. It's disable so the antenna booster never worked.
The FM signal strength (RSSI) can be checked by the MTK engineering mode app. It went from -80 to -50 when the booster is working.
I'm using this device to strenghten radio signal. It works.

You have an MTCD variant device. Head over to MTCD forums.
I just got an aftermarket unit and i really only wanted to get it for use for my HONDATA display and being able to load engine calibrations. I am now finding that its only available for 2018+ and only certain cars. Is there a work around i'm not finding on internet? I did find one thing but it was literally 30 steps.
This is the unit I have
