emobileinhand.com has teamed up with Amazon and they're selling the Seidio Innocase for $24.85 shipped. I added Priority shipping and the total was $26.85. I bought my first Innocase from them but I got wasted on St. Patricks Day and broke it. The phone is fine, thank God.
The Seidio Innocase is hands down, THE BEST case for the Kaiser. The holster (strongly recommended) really keeps the device safe.
Right now, I'm using my Boxwave as a backup. I like it, but the belt clip forces you to wear it with the screen facing out which could lead to damage.
This is a great deal.

I have this case and imo its overpriced crap. The thing rarely stays on all the way. It seems there's always a corner or something to press down on again to get it to stay on it.
If you want a nice case cheap, just buy a cheapy. I bought one off Amazon for less than $5 and it stays on all the time never have to worry about it at all. The only difference is the holster and finish. The Seido has a nicer feel to it due some coating they put on it. And the holster for the cheapy is one of those screw on job's.
But hey if you want to spend $20 on a coating for something that will fall off, go ahead its on sale!!
Satisfied
I've used it for 2 weeks now and it stays on, feels great on hand, and haven't found any peeling of the rubberized layer.
I used to put on PDAir Aluminium for my SE M600 and it also go roughed up. So you can imagine my usage habit and this Seidio performs beyond my expectation.
Yea, I dunno man, I never have had a problem with my Seidio. You just have to make sure you have it on correctly. The boxwave is a very close second though. I wish Boxwave had a holster similar to Seidio's.
The great thing about the Boxwave is that it has a "notch" for the reset hole so it's almost impossible to miss and end up messing up your USB port.

I don't know how someone could fit it on incorrectly. It only goes on one way and its pretty obvious which way that is.
My biggest problem w/the case is that if i slide that keyboard out it will knock off the bottom hinges.
IMO its not a secure case. Is it designed well as far as all the little notches and slots? Yes. Does it feel nice in your hand? Yes. Does it look nice? Yes. Is it worth more than $5? No.
Is this really much different to the 'crystal cases' that you can buy from the markets and crack after a week in your pocket?
Dont u dare!
Dont even think about buying this pathetic case. after much debate i bought this hoping it would protect my kaiser. i spent a week looking for the perfect case, went through everything i could find. i received the case, it snapped on easily, i hardly had an issue with the little hinges, the case lasted me a good 18 months. the rubberised outside is a nice touch, imo the phone doesnt look good with the case, but i stuck with it coz it protects your phone, right? well not quite. what the assholes at seidio dont tell you is that yeah they've rubberised the outside but done nothing inside the case. its plastic, which means after a couple of months you start to accumulate **** inbetween the case and the outside of the fone. ordinarily it might not be a problem, but if like me the fone spends most of its time in the back pocket, in bags etc then any grainy kind of crap between a plastic cover and a kaiser = ? you guessed it, major dents, scratches, gouges etc. i didnt check the phone for a good 3 months after i put the cover on, when i took it back off my phone looked like id rolled it down a hill and then threw it back up again. its ruined my kaiser and now i cant sell it on unless i buy another housing and put it on myself. it may be error on my part assuming that a protective case protects the outside of your fone, i dont know. this is my experience of this ****ty case, take it or leave. i think you'd be better off buying the cheapy crystal ones, coz then atleast you can see when your phone needs cleaning and you dont end up ruining it.
sorry for going on and on.
paradoox
Thanks for your feedback paradoox,
anyone else have similar long term reports?
On a separate note, i found out that Boxwave do a very similar (nearly identical) case and holster. Anyone handled both the Seidio and Boxwave for a comparison?
yep thats pretty much what i thought

I had a similar experience as paradoox, bought it, thought it looked crap but left it on to protect fone, few weeks later discovered one of the little little tabs holding the top half of the case on snapped so it wouldn't stay on.. this is when i found scratches and dents under the case too. imo ... the case is just too expensive for how it performs... better to go thu 3 cheapies i think..
It all depends on your usage and carry habit.
I carry my phone on a leather pouch on my belt, with the Seidio snuggly fit on it, so it won't slip whatsoever.
It does make sense that some grits, etc. will get under the case, but I just opened it up 1-2 weeks ago and found nothing. Remember, I live in Jakarta, taking public buses and lots of fumes, dust, etc. around the air.
Of course it has to be also counted that I rarely open my phone in public (dusty, windy area) mainly for security reasons. I don't flaunt my belongings. I worked in an office building, and the phone is often out, but it's a clean environment.
Again, YMMV. For someone who wants no dust, I read somewhere there's a waterproof case for Kaiser ..
For my use, Seidio works great.
I'm in the market for a new case since the $3 one I bought on Ebay is starting to peel finish. I'm looking for the thinnest, slickest case out there.
What case are you using?
Do you like it?
How much was it?
Where did you buy it?
Pictures?
THX!
well i would like to know this as well.
However i can enlighten you on how horrible the body glove case from sprint is. it looked great and was loving the feel until after a week, pulled it out of my pocket to find the case was broke where the volume rocker is. needless to say it looked and felt good but all in all i do NOT recommend it to anyone.

Mine did exactly the same thing, lasted about two weeks.
Funny, I ordered one of the $3.00 ones off of Ebay to replace it.
Actually I got mine on Amazon... forgot. This is the case I bought and while it is pretty thin and fits well, the paint job is totally shotty and now looks horrible:
http://www.amazon.com/Premium-Rubberized-Snap-Seamless-Design/dp/B003TMIFEY/ref=pd_sxp_grid_pt_2_2
I bought the white and chrome case from Sprint when I got the phone. I have had my phone since the release day for the EVO and the case still looks brand new. I really like the leather feel, and the chrome accents add to the overall beauty of the phone. I would recommend the case to anyone!
A guy I work with bought this one on Ebay about 2 weeks ago and says he's still happy with it:

That Seido case looks bulky no? I'm looking for something that doesn't add to the already large footprint of this thing in my pocket.
How about the Otterbox cases.. anyone have experience with them on other devices (not out yet for the evo)

i have the body glove universal holder from radio shack which works for me. however, i am looking at getting the Seidio Innocase holster case combo... which is a steal on amazon as the case itself is $30 at sprint and the combo is $30 on amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Innoca..._1_4?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1282702286&sr=8-4
i already tried the case and its nice and fits inside the body glove holder too, snuggley like pigs in a blanket at ihop.
Shouldn't this be in the Accessories forum?
(Black TPU case FTW.)
Yep... should be in accessories thread... my bad.
Are the otterbox cases thin though... I'm really looking for the thinnest case out there.
I always just wait for some YouTube reviews to pop up, shows me are how big the case is in real life. (Or as real as I care to get.)

Looking at the impact series case it doesn't look to be too bad. I really like the looks of the bottom two cases, so I signed up to be notified when they come out. I had the Sprint Body Glove case, had since release actually, but the volume rocker area just cracked last week. Lasted longer then most I suppose.
I've got the Seidio Innocase holder IceCreaMan linked to and it has been nice. It's got a nice texture, doesn't slide easily, isn't bulky, has a belt clip, and with the case on, it makes it so the camera doesn't stick out. It doesn't cover anything either so you still have your speakers, cameras, microphones, plugs, etc. Would definitely recommend it.
the Innocase II is a proven design in my opinion
its thin, and can take a drop (ive dropped mine from 8ft + onto concrete without any cracks in the case/damage to the phone)
I got a couple cheap cases from ebay; they're the clamshell design that has a front & back the snap together. They all felt too big and bulky though, so I got a Talon to replace 'em. Love it. Just snaps onto the back of the phone and protects the corners from drops and the camera from scratches when laying the phone on it's back. I have an InvisibleShield on the front to protect the touch screen from scratches.
The talon is almost like not having a case at all -- doesn't add much bulk to the phone.
And it's only 10 bucks.
Got my case today, I was a little worried because two days after I purchased it Ebay pulled all of the sellers listings and sent me a notice saying I could file a claim to get my money back. Since the seller had good feedback, and he had notified me that it had been shipped (from China), I decided to wait and see if it would show up, which it did.
I really like it, much better fit and quality than the Sprint body glove I had on my phone before. Time will tell if it lasts, but I have to say for $3.00, I am pretty impressed. It has a soft feel that gives a more secure feeling grip than the body glove, plus it is slightly thinner, but still protects the camera lens. Plus it is red, love the color.
Wish I could give a link to the one I got, the seller has put some of his cases back up, but no Evo cases yet.
Here is a link to a red rubberized hard case that looks very similar to the one I got.
Hey guys,
2 weeks ago I bought a brand new galaxy note 2, but by now I already have some scratches on the back cover and some on the steel cornering? So is it just misusage or is it that Samsung have easily scratched covers? And I only dropped the phone like once so I don't think that all of these scratches came from misusage... Any ideas?
I had a sgs2 before and it got totally destructed by scratches and tearings...
Are you carrying diamond tipped nails in your pocket?
I have had my note 1 for 9 months and have dropped it a couple of times on concrete and ceramic tiled floors and it still looks 99% brand new. I don't usually put anything else with it in my pockets but it has come in contact with keys on several occasions.
Do you live in a sandy area? How do you carry it normally on your person?
Now that you mention it, I have a nasty scratch on my back cover too.
Never had a problem with my Note 1. I wonder if it is the glossy coating.
I'm using a case now though - much nicer to hold with a textured back.

I really wish Samsung wouldve put a rubberized backing on the note II considering it'd have less of a chance to slip out of your hands which is pretty high considering how big this phone is...

In your case, I'd suggest you check out Otterbox cases when they become available for the Note 2.
Well I think if samsung uses steel or aluminum cases like nokia our phone would feel and look better and will still remain in excellent condition even after couple of drops.. But unfortunately samsung uses glossy plastic which might not break as easily but will definitly not remain a "new phone" definition after a month or two...

What are you the samsung police?
Give it a rest officer, if the gn2 has a back thats like the gs3 then yes its flimsy. samsung is notorious for cutting corners likr this to save money.
But with that said its usualy to provide better quality in other aspects.
If your tired of reading opinions you dont agree with why are you reading them?

I like build quality. Example back door now clicks harder and is not easy scratchble like my s3(blue). Home button now easy to press
And display don't have it any more that background black spots. (which is available on any amoled screens)
Very happy.
People complain about plastic being a poor build quality choice. It's just a matter of opinion. I don't feel that it has to be metal/aluminum/whatever to be nice build quality. If anything, I feel plastic is more durable, lighter, and we get awesome internals. People don't complain about the mass amount of plastic BMW uses everywhere in their cars, but people also don't know enough to realize it.

Exactly. People also don't know that the cover of a lot of phones are also actually plastic, just with a different coating to make it feel "premium". I could care less if its plastic and flimsy, there's a reason for it being that way. Its more durable.

I'm still waiting on my "being Built" Moto Maker X Pure. Bamboo and black.
This phone having such customization potential, I'm curious what the majority of you are doing about cases. I've always used a case, but I want to show of my wood back and color choices.. and personally, I'm kind of hoping that it's tough enough to risk using naked daily.
What do you think?
Oh, and I'm likely to keep this for a long time and reselling is not something I'm worried about.
I would go with a clear case, still shows the wood and protects the phone.
I'm either going to get a transparent/translucent case or a good quality bumper. I ended up going for the soft back rather than the leather so I'm more likely to get the case.
Personally, wouldn't keep the phone naked. At the very least, use the provided bumper for some sort of protection.

Xtremeguard... They're having like a 90% off sale. Its OK. Doesn't cover from edge to edge...which is fine, otherwise the bumper would probably peel it off. It will protect it from scratches for now though. Adds a little grip, but not as much as I had hoped.

Ya, if I remember correctly it was a little difficult on the N6 but not terrible. I'd think it'd be OK on this phone.
I bought this one
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012Y81GXA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00
It sais to preorder but i ordered it and it came in the mail already, dont know if they only made a few or something, you could always email the seller and ask.
Im extremely impressed with it. I bought it as a cheap case to put on till i have more options. My only criticism was that it was a little loose on the sides, so what did i do ? I boiled it! thats right, i looked it up online and people boil tpu cases to shrink them a little. I boiled it in water for 3 minutes. it fits alot more snug now, still not perfect but close enough
I went with an otterbox so my kids dont break my phone
FYI - I've had the included "bumper" on my MXPE almost continuously since I received it.
I removed the bumper yesterday and, to my dismay, found nicks/pits in the longer metal edges of the phone. It looks like the anodized coating has worn away to show the brighter metal beneath (I have the dark grey/titanium metal color). I also noticed upon receipt that there was a slight chip in the finish at the edge of the SIM card door.
Fortunately my MotoMaker re-do unit is on its way to me (decided to go with wood instead of soft-touch), but I'm somewhat disappointed with the robustness of the metal finish. I almost wonder if this is why the "bumper" was packaged with the phone - though it looks like it might've done more harm than good by trapping scratchy debris.
Bottom line - I usually carry my phone naked except with a glass screen protector, but I'm wondering if this MXPE is going to need at least an edge bumper.
(I haven't fully scoured the forums to see if this is a known problem, but I certainly hope the finish on my re-do unit is more durable.)
I'm going naked, I have moto care so I think I will go naked with this phone. So often cases seem to cause more wear than without so I will keep it "pure"

Im trying that too, but I am only a month in and I already am seeing spots on the back where it seems that the varnishing is being removed? Have you noticed this yourself?
See-through case, fits like a glove - not loose. The best combination for me personally, the phone is still 100% visible but protected to some degree. Also I find soft silicone cases add more grip to what would otherwise be a slippery phone.
I-blason clear case from Amazon. Very happy with it.
Sent from my SM-T530NU using Tapatalk
I'm currently using the i-blason clear case as well, and I'll second it as good option. I had decent drop onto a hard surface over the weekend, and the phone was no worse for the wear. I also have the Casemate naked tough case coming as well, which should be even better. I'm someone that likes to have a variety of cases (although with this phone I'm probably going to stick with clear ones), so I will probably end up getting a bumper or two as well. I don't think the included bumper is quite as bad as a lot of people said it was, but it fits kind of loose and I can see it breaking with a good drop. As much as I enjoy going naked with the phone, I didn't get Moto care, and the wooden back I got is fairly slippery, and I don't trust myself not drop it occasionally.
I have noticed that the clear bumper that came with the phone has started to scratch the very edges of the rounded glass. I'm going naked now. I don't use screen protectors and generally don't use cases or bumpers. I've never had a problem with scratching my devices. I also never resell my phones (I usually gift them to family members, friends, etc.), so slight scratches aren't a deal breaker for me.
I love this phone in its bare form :good:

Yes, I use a case... A simple Cruzerlite Bugdroid or Incipio NGP (I swap back and forth since I have a couple different color bugdroid cases and I still really like the NGP).
I use a simple Spigen. Already dropped it 10 odd times. Once I managed to fling it 10 feet. No damage.

Really loving my UAG case. I find it helps me keep a better grip on the phone and doesn't add too much bulk at all. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06XS3JKGS/ref=ya_aw_oh_bia_dp?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I also have the spigen $10 case, works well, but has that weird "rough" feeling most cheaper TPU cases have if that bothers you.
As to the necessity, I just bought a replacement because I didn't think I needed the case after a few months without dropping it. The phone by itself is quite slippery, and I dropped it and smashed the screen. Definitely recommend a nice case, for grip if nothing else
Cruzerlite Bugdroid for me, i have used them since 2012 on every phone i have owned.
