G360F usb OTG? - Samsung Galaxy Core Prime Questions & Answers

The title basically says it all. I want to know if anyone got otg to work. I tried it and nothing. Im dissapointed as any of the phones i had did not have this damn feature. Do they really think its not important on lower end phones? Ive had the cheapest chinese tablets and phones support it but my new phone wont. Sorry for the rant. If anyone could make otg work i would be grateful. I need it for storage and usb dac (soundcard) because the audio in this phone is a bit weak.

Headphone problem

I have a trinity with the WM6 rom I downloaded from here and have only just bought a mini usb - 3.5 audio adapter, now, everything fits in very nicely, but I'm unable to get sound to switch over to headphones, there arent any options in the phone that I know of, and I cant find any help files either, I dont think it's the adapter, well I cant see anything wrong with it anyway, can anyone shed some light on the subject for me?
awww .....help me pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease
Hi I think at 99% of chances that it comes from your adapter. It might not be good cause if it were it would switch automatically. There is no manual way to activate it cause it's not a matter of software. It is as if you plug a headphone in a mp3 player: There is nothing to activate just plug. Try to buy another adapter which is certified to work with HTC
that's the problem probably: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Trinity_EMUConnector
ahh
thanx michaldu, I believe I see the problem from that diagram now, the adapter seems to be a 5 pin....and the pins are on the top row, which, from that diagram, seems to be for usb, looks like I gotta get me an 11 pin, ah well, thanx anyway dudes, mucho apriciado.

usb on-the-go

hey,
my old mp3-player (iriver h340) had a function called "usb otg".
with that i could plug usb-sticks, -harddrives or even my friends
mp3-player to my device and copy files from one device to the
other. without the need of a pc.
now i wonder if this would be possible with a htc (i´m writing in
here, cause blkstn is my favored choice) and wm.
do you know anything about it?
thx
kws
it's a hardware protocol, I think we would have heard if it was built in. I've been wanting htc to put this in their phones since I first got my typhoon. but fortunately the transflash chips are getting dirt cheap, so it's no biggie these days.
You are refering to USB Host mode, where a device can host another USB one. Touch HD does not have this mode, but on the Diamond there was talk about a USB trigger mode. Maybe you want to give it a test drive:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=USB_Trigger_Mode
yeah, usb-host. thats what i ment.
thx for the link...
flash-cards are really cheap. but still i cant put all my media on it. well, thats
not always necessary but it would be handy to have to carry just your 2.5"
250gb drive and have all your stuff with you... and accecible without a laptop.
however. was just curious...

[Q] cat5 /rj45 how to?

hey guys and girls;
for various reasons i want to be able to use cat5 with my tablet, i have found this:
www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007RTACDM/ref=aw_d_detail?pd=1
but it says it wont work with samsung as they dont support wired internet, is that something that is in custom roms? i was planing on using a dock, maybe with a otg usb connector or something, is there a better way of getting cat5 on my tablet?
if not, has anyone had much luck with other tablets and what im trying to make happen?

using external mic and an app like garageband (as on iphone)

Hi, I can't see any way to plug an external condensor mic into my new nexus 4, pretty bummed if that is the case.
I would like to use my phone as a portable recorder that can record sounds in at least cd quality and use some sort of mic I will have to buy.
Much like everyone is doing with their iphones and garageband, maybe the nexus isn't able to do it, there is no hardware problem, my 1st ibook with a 512 mb memory could do this without a single issue, I imagine this device can do it but maybe it isn't made with any thought of getting external audio into it ?
Makes me thing I need an iphone after all.

USB OTG (On the go) is not supported in this phone by stock. None of the developers have been able to figure it out as of now but it may be possible. Another limitation is the voltage the USB hardware is able to provide which we do not know for sure yet. If it is lower than usb spec (and hence USB OTG is not supported stock) then you won't be able to power your mic with the phone.
TL;DR No this phone won't accept your usb microphone, maybe in the future with further research by devs.

That really sucks, lol.. and it did say this phone has "OTG" usb on the google page for the specs for the phone, no ?
Now i see why i need an iphone, i can't even find a note taking program i can manually sync between mac and android (like I did with my blackberry for 10 years) without using cloud storage and stuff, I don't want my stuff on a cloud.
Yes the original marketing material referred to the device having USB OTG. It was removed sometime near release and the rumor we have is that the device can't provide the full 5V required by USB specifications.
As far as no cloud solutions, I'm not really sure what your apprehensions are. Apple is going to sync your notes the same way Google/Evernote would. The days of using a cable to sync your device have passed.
he's trolling...he knows this phone doesnt have OTG

[Q] Can I use a wireless USB adapter to boost my internet?

Hi all, I've searched hard for this...
I just bought a D-Link Wireless N 150 USB adapter because I though it might help getting wifi reception on my Nexus 7 in my bedroom where it is currently poor.
I have a OTG adapter so I figured I could plug it in with that and off I go!
...The problem is installing the software.
The USB stick comes with a mini cd-rom with the software on it which makes it tricky to get it on to the Nexus.
So. I suppose my question is threefold:
1) Firstly, can this USB wireless thing work on my Nexus?
2) How can I make it work?
Wait, that's just two.
Help will be much appreciated and I will rampant with my thanks.

Why should you use a external Wifi-USB-thing? I think the Nexus has Wifi, thats enough. Its like putting two keyboards on one pc...
What you need is a Wifi-Repeater.
And that little guy is available on Amazon.
So much fun with your Nexus.
