what I can't believe this, I was just about to turn off my TV so I can go to bed, but i accidentally pressed the wrong button, and noticed that my Amazon fire 2nd generation tv box reacted, from my Samsung tv Smart Remote, did anybody else realize you could do this!!!
Not all of the buttons work as you can see in the video demonstration, but still it's pretty neat
Video Proof!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPEKXDX95BI
PS, if You hear a lot of weird background noises like a tummy rumbling, on the Video that's my dog's stomach lol
Since IMHO the aTV2 does not have an IR receiver this is done via HDMI-CEC protocol (Samsung calls this AnyNet), this means your still controlling only your TV and some basic actions (like VOL+/-, CH+/-, Standby, Cursor cross) are transmitted via HDMI from the TV to the aTV. Nice feature but without the TV this remote will not control the aTV2.

Hello, today I want to show you how to turn your OnePlus into a universal remote.
Buy IR jack 3.5mm or build it.
- Download ZaZa Remote. (thanks to michealderek for the software)
- Plug the external IR in the audio jack and start ZaZa Remote.
- Click "More" in the lower left and put the check on "Recognize Device".

- Click on "Add" and select the type of device. We will use as an example a Samsung TV.
- Subsequently, the program will try to find television to be able to engage with the IR.
- If television responds click "Has response" and move on, otherwise "No response" and the program will continue to try the other televisions. Usually it works the first time.
- Do this for the various keys.
- At the end you will have the working remote control for your OnePlus!
Enjoy!
Good to know,thanks

Yes you can
quora.com/How-do-I-make-an-IR-blaster-with-a-3-5-mm-jack-to-control-my-TV-and-AC-with-my-Android-phone
or Google "3.5mm IR transmitter schematic"
It works when I connect it to my phone, tablet, Android box, PC, etc but it doesn't work with the Nexus Player.
My Logitech keyboard and mouse that I use for my PC is detected by the Nexus Player but not this handheld one.
Is there anything I need to do to get it working? Android is definitely capable of using this keyboard/mouse combo remote so I'm sure there's some way to get the drivers on the Nexus Player
It's 95% the same as this:

I have the same remote and use it with my NP, just turn it on , hold the Bluetooth button on the keyboard until it blinks, click the button on the bottom of the NP to search for your keyboard, NP will.see it and ask for you to enter 6 digit pairing code.
Done

Mine is also Bluetooth but it comes with a dongle that it autoconnects to. It's weird.. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Thanks anyway
If its Bluetooth you should be able to get it to pair with other devices without the dongle
Hi all
Firstly - FANTASTIC effort in making these technologies available! I've been playing Borderlands 2 using Trinus and Moonlight on my S7 edge w/ VR headset, which is feeding the full stereoscopic VR experience from Trinus/Moonlight/Tridef3D on my PC. I'm using a USB tether to keep the quality high, and I'm incredibly impressed to say the least.
My one remaining issue before I can enjoy games fully - my Bluetooth controller (SteelSeries Stratus XL Android&Windows) has two analogue triggers, which intermittently set off out of the blue, and often stay triggered. This wreaks havoc as you can imagine.
I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction, possibly by answering a few of these?
• it's the Shield technology that sends the controller signals from Android > PC, correct?
• if so, does Moonlight fully rely on the Android controller mapping and configuration, and receive signals from Android? Or does Moonlight work directly with the device?
• is there a method for altering the controller mapping, for example to introduce a deadzone.. or (worst case) even disabling these triggers?
Many thanks in advance for anyone who can help - I'm on the cusp of a fantastic experience here..!
Regards
Matt

Bump - I am seriously keen for any scraps of info! hah
Are there any utilites that can assist someone troubleshooting game controllers - I haven't found anything useful yet
So I've been using the APK version December 2020 of CCWGTV (LauncherX) and it work fine, but been trying to install the new versions of it (named Google TV after February update) and after a few minutes I always end up getting this screen and then I can't do absolutely nothing.

Thank you. It worked.
Android TV can install applications from Google Play and also in APK file format, just like mobile phones. The problem is that these files must be uploaded to the Android TV device; It doesn't matter if it's a TV or a player. Chromecast works with almost any TV with an HDMI port. Just plug it in, connect to Wi-Fi, and start streaming. Check what's going on around your home. Now you can use your voice to control your Chromecast with Google TV through a Google Assistant-enabled speaker, display, or phone.
I setup a Chromecast with Google TV for a friend aka CCwGTV, and noticed that the voice search on the CCwGTV searches any sideloaded app including browsers etc.
As opposed to the voice assistant searching the whole device like the Nvidia Shield TV, you can search with your voice inside of each sideloaded apks and i love it on the CCwGTV!
I do not own a Nvidia shield remote, I've been using a usb wifi one. I don't care if this is practical or not.
My goal: Get a remote to VOICE search sideloaded browsers/apps on Nvidia shield tv (2017) just like it does on CCwGTV
This is what i want on my Nvidia Shield. So last night i purchased the Google G10 Remote (Onn), and a CCwGTV to test both remotes.
The remote (search function) do not work out of the box as it does with the CCwGTV, like in each app.
I've seen and attempted to install Google TV Launcher, but I'm not sure I installed correctly.
This Article explains about Google TV UI on Shield TV
This Article explains about CCwGTV and G10 remotes on Nvidia shield and other devices... I now have the two remotes in bottom picture, except the Amazon one.
My question is:
If i somehow am able to turn my Nvidia Shield UI into the CCwGTV UI, is it possible I can somehow get the CCwGTV voice search function working using G10 or CCwGTV remotes on my shield tv, just like it works on a CCwGTV?
