How do I add a screen and remove Google search bar at the top

Google would have easily answered this for you had you searched.
You can't remove the search. Just drop an icon or widget onto an empty screen and it will add another screen.

Seriously can't remove with all the custom roms?

The ROM has nothing to do with it. It's a feature of the Google Now Launcher. If you don't like it you can switch to another launcher. And as I said this is all information you would have found if you had searched.

nasty "google search on ics"
latest kangs have option in the homescreen to disable it.
Nice explanation as usual.
But... why? This disables the physical search button and leaves a blank unusable gap under the top bar. Is there a way to extend the usable grid upward once the search bar is gone?

just a personal choice, i dnt use search much so for me this bar on the top is a waste ..
Also I worry about burn in the search is going to cause on our amoleds.

is there burn in on your notification bar? or your menu icon (which is on you screen the same amount of time)?
if not, why would you worry about search bar burn in?
if so, why dont you switch to a non amoled phone?
People need a video for selecting "disable" in the Google app setting?

I don't think I have to if I take care of the screen.

There is a reason google took away the am/pm on the status bar and changed the color to black: to stop burn in. It's a real issue and people should be wary of it.

How do you remove the digital clock on the lockscreen? It keeps returning after I delete it. Also, can you add other widgets besides the four shown?
I was able to use uccw on the lock screen
Try to replace it with another widget. Then go back later and delete that one.

Tried that. The clock came back.
Is there at least a way to make it look decent, without the stupid bold hour digit? I wouldn't mind having the clock on the lock screen if it didn't look so bad.

Download Fixed Clock from the Market/Play Store and use that widget in place of the stock one.

HD Widgets is very nice option as well. It gives you many configuration options for the lockscreen

good question, anyone?
Google Ears is supposed to be a jelly bean feature, yet i dont see the widget available on my nexus 10? Anyone else have the same problem? or am i missing something here?
The widget is not called Google Ears, it's called Sound Search.
I am aware of that but still don't have it

You can add it as a widget on the lock screen.

Do you have Google music installed? I think you need that to get Sound Search.

Yes i have it installed
What's your region, and are you on stock ROM?
I'm in the US, and I have the Sound Search widget on both Stock and a custom AOSP ROM, and can add it to either lockscreen or homescreen.
If you're rooted install titanium backup. If you go into apps, you need to unfreeze it.
I am from the UK and i havent got a custom rom yet. havent got round to rooting.
I have modified Google Ears for unsupported countries..
thread of it is in Galaxy Nexus themes and apps section!
Is there any means to extend the wallpaper underneath the Status Bar and Softkeys? I dislike the black banding, especially under the Softkeys. I know Paranoid Android does this but one reason I bought a Nexus was to get out of ROMs--plus I'd rather not waste space on ROM backups.
I have root and the willingness to muck about in the system APKs.
Bump.
Just wait for any expert to make a mod

Or, I could ask and see if any developer who already knows how this is done in Paranoid Android will tell me.
I would like to do this as well... is it possible without a custom ROM?
it needs framework modifications, but mods exist. evilisto made one if i remember that right.
i dunno why you would want one over a rom though. makes no sense. roms on nexus base on aosp and official vendors blobs. what you get is stock android plus features. you cannot compare it to roms on legacy devices which emulate android, need hacks and exploits.
ps. PA has per app coloring. this goes way past simple transparent bar on the homescreen.

Not 100% sure (still waiting for delivery of my N4) but doesn't the XYLON ROM do this?

heck no. pa is a playground for features you havent seen or known before, like hybrid engine. you wont find it anywhere else.
What do you all prefer? I've only been on pure nexus so far.

I tried a fresh install of Pure Nexus and removed root and still couldn't get Android Pay to work. What did you do to get it to work?

Probably this. Make sure you flash the FiFix dialer if you haven't already (you don't have to root if you don't want to).

It is really just the Google dialer but for some reason, it is now necessary for Android Pay to work ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks. Worked like a charm, and my bank finally added support for Android Pay, so glad I finally got it working.
Please help
I just bought a 6p and the seller didn't tell me it was rooted. Everytime I press the home button it doesn't go home same with recent apps. Also the notification bar doesn't drop down when I swipe. Please help or please tell me the best way to get back to stock.
Thanks

Time to do some research. It's very simple to return to stock and get the bootloader locked. Just read read and read some more
