Hello all,
Does anyone here use PocketCM (an iPhone-like application for contacts)? It's a great program and works really well except when I try to install and select a new theme. When I go to the settings and press "Choose Theme", it only lets me choose one theme (the defaul), and I can't scroll over or anything to select a different theme. I hope this makes sense, and I hope someone out there knows something about this. I was gonna post in the forum on PocketCM's website, but I can't register in it for some reason. Please help me out if you can! Thanks!

no harm dude, but i think almost everyone here uses pocketcm lol
How does one search for a contact with this pocketcm ? Dont tell me one has to go click on every alphabet? Say I want to look for Jayne - cant I just type Jay etc and out pops Jane or wutever else?

No. You can slide your finger down either the left or right side of the touchscreen and when you release your finger it will jump to that alphabet in your list.

Yes. Just start typing and PocketCM will narrow down your list of contacts which match the characters you typed.

Haha, I wasn't sure.
Anyway, I guess another question is, does anyone have trouble when sliding, and the program will just randomly decide that you meant to press on a name instead of sliding? If that makes sense...?

Its just a matter of gettin used to it. I still have trouble scrolling tho. Not very consistent.

Errr type where??
I use PocketCM also. I do experience a little glitch when searching the contact alphabetically, when scrolling from the left; it will sometimes show my favorite contacts instead. Does anyone experience this also?

Pocket CM disappointment
I'm actually pretty disappointed when it comes to this app, for a two reasons:
1) it randomly hangs: sometimes when I'm scrolling the display just stops working and in my impatience i continue to click and before I know it I've either called someone that I didn't mean to, or i've opened someone for editing.
2) side scroll (alphabetically) does not work worth a damn. It NEVER goes to the letter that I specify, always stops short. I would say that this happens randomly... but no, it happens consistently, every time. Any ideas what is causing this? The only time is seems to work is when I'm going upwards.
Does anyone have any ideas about these two problems ?

I don't have any ideas about those two problems (sorry), but I'm also a little disappointed with the app. Like why I orinigally started this thread, it's such a hassle for me to install new skins because it doesn't work like it's supposed to. Or the inconsistent scrolling, or the hanging like you mentioned.
Also, (although this is minor), has anyone else noticed that if you leave Pocket CM open and go back to the Today screen, and lock the buttons, the top eighth of the screen or so shows the Pocket CM app, and everything else is the Today screen? Does that make sense? Anyway, it's a minor detail, but it's kind of a sore-sight. Has anyone been able to fix this?
While browsing the xda forum, i found a thread with diamond phone canvas slide to answer/ignore function http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=464286 . is it somehow possible to run it on xperia? tried the one in the link, but couldn't succeed to load it properly... when someone calls me, i can't see anything, only sound, and when entering the phone menu, i can barely see the numbers in there surrounded by white colored areas.. has anyone tired it already?

just download itje's touch hd dialer (blacksone dialer), and ther you go.

I have that feature in my SPB Pocket Plus and you slide to turn off keylock then press the answer button to answer any call.
dloaded the blackstone dialer, but after long installation, at the end it just failed. i tried it a few times again, and still the same error appears.. any ideas?
Try Inesoft Phone it works on mine.
normally, when we open the opera and rotate the HD to horizontal, the screen also will rotate, but i facing a problem with it now. once i rotate it, it will bring me back to the home screen, i tried many times, but it still can't rotate and bring me back to the home screen.
but, this problem can be solved after i do the softreset. after softreset, the problem will come back again after few days.i still can't figure out whether is my installed application crash or what.
anyone can help?

It is most likely that you installed a color top bar and you installed the wrong one (some play nice, while some don't). If that's the case, just go grab a different color top bar (almost all the new ones are fine, it was really only a problem with some of the early ones)

actually, mine colour topbar is downloaded from here also.
or maybe you just tell me the name of your topbar, i believe you can see the top bar name from the Remove Program there. Million thanks..

I have this minor problem. Whenever there is a new sms and when I open the the sms( let's say from the lockscreen which provide the shortcut option to view the unread sms using manilla), it doesn't direct me to the unread sms.
Most of the time it will direct me to the 2nd sms or maybe 3rd sms.
the qn is ; am I the only one having this problem?And how do I solve it?

Haha, so i'm not the only one...it's irritating as hell.
All the previous HTc phones knows how to go to the newest, now sure why in HD2, this is NOT done.
Also, all my previous HTC phones, on the main page, you can actually dismiss,mark as read or delete the message without opening it...but in the HD2..all you can do is HIDE.....super troublesome this HTC messages.and you can't disable it! I hope HTC updates it..this is the biggest pain in the HD2..

from the lock screen... tap the slide bar, drag the new bar off the screen and you arrive at your new message.

I tried your suggestion but it doesnt seem to be working. I drag the sms bar as far over as I can after tapping the slider and I still arrive at the last viewed message not the new one.....any more help?
Also is there not a cab file to make the sms slider go directly to all messages where the new sms can just be replied. Instead of having to go to the navigation tab and then clicking the sms and then replying. It seems there must be a fix for both of these problems.

Whenever i get a new text message, whether i open it up with the message icon at the bottom or the notification at the top, after i start typing it will then highlight what the other person just sent to me and turns the screen where i type blank, and to see what i have typed and continue typing i have to touch the screen where my typing appears again and continue typing. Any idea why this happens, its kind of annoying the piss outta me!
I have no idea, but it's happen to me too. Sometimes it highlights the received message but still allows me to type without seeing the letters appear on the blank screen.

Yes, it happens to the two I have as well... One of which is being replaced,(hardware failure)
ya, well i wonder if there is a way to fix this in the registry or something. it really bugs the crap out of me sometimes.
I think its a universal glitch. However, the problem happens to me less now that I'm running Kumar's TMOUS C1.6 WWE ROM

What ROM version do you have? Stock? Custom? Latest 2.13?
This is the reason I have htc messaging disabled!
Happens all the time, it's just a software bug hopefully it'll get fixed in the future.
mine pauses when i txt also but its not worth giving up the phone for a few glitches.a bubby got the pheone and is freaking out because its not as smooth as his mytouch.so he is going to take the phone back.
I have the latest ROM and texting still SUCKS!! unbelievable....Hold your phone landscape and have someone send you a text while you are writing one, ridiculous.
I have the same problem also. maybe the new official update will fix it. If not, and I disable htc messaging. which sms app should i use?
I had this problem with the original 2.10 rom. Now that i've updated to the 2.13 rom the problem is solved

It's solved because you have 0 SMS in the conversation, it ll start annoying you when you have like more than 20 SMS.
I got a call on firday , and the tech said they can reproduce the SMS delay / jump to last SMS problem.
But cannot find any bug in HTC sense, that kind of means they will NEVER fix it.
Hopeless.
I think they definitely think it's a feature other than a problem even so many people complains.

I have seen that myself. Had about 40 messages in that thread and I could see the scroll bar getting smaller and smaller on the right hand side of the screen, and once it finished getting to the size that it needs to be for the amount of messages, it happens. I try to keep my sms sizes small due to this. It gets quite annoying at times.
this is one of the things that is the most annoying of all! I hate it and theres no way to fix it apparently.. gay
the only way i have overcome it is, well i sold the first HD2 i had and got an iphone, well now i just got another HD2 yesterday directly from Tmo cause i broke my iphone, my new HD2 has the lastest ROM on it, but set the Message shortcut to your homescreen and when you recieve a new message dont open it with the message icon on the bottom where the sense icons are and open your message with the message shortcut icon, this way i have noticed it doesnt highlight the last message that person sent you.

the new Tmo ROM update fixes that problem, It slows the sensitivity and processing of what you type down, but it no longer highlights the incoming message. choose which poison you wish to have
