I need help to repair my Qtek

Hello
I just did the following :
download the files from www.carrierdevices.com.au for Qtek 101 update
"Qtek 1010 Upgrade

File Contents
• CE Upgrade File : RUU_CEv3.18.04wwe_Qtek_SHIP.exe
• Radio Upgrade File : RSUv1.15_(GPRS_T32500_ENG).exe

When the process began there was an error asking to press OK for restart.
After restarting device in the boot sequence ( when logo is diplayed) there are no informations about the ROM. Just Radion version is diplayed and that is the new version one (3.25)
Also on the display there is no start icon and I cannot use the display because it seems to be decalibrated completly.
Very Important : When I try to connect to Activesync after a while it telling me that the device is not a smartphone or a pocket PC and cannot be connected. So I cant use any program to try to upgrade again.
What to do ?
Please try to give examples and link to download files in order to fix my device.

Hi ...
If you still can get to the boot loader screen (power button + soft reset) and it displays "GSM OK", that means there is a good chance that the flash ROM is not damaged.
You can either put the ROM and RSU files on SD card through a card reader (.nbf files) or to get a valid SD backup for CE + Radio from any working XDA and use the boot loader screen to flash your device again.

It seems to be ok cause i can upload a new CE in SD format to the device. ROM was build in the kithcenROM from yorch.net.
It still not working cause perhaps I need the file containing Radio and CE as well in SD format.
Do you know where I can get it ?
I dont think I can get another device to read the files on the SD.

I 'm not sure which stage you are stuck with now ... if you can put CE image on SD card and flash it using the boot loader, that means you can boot your XDA and flash the RSU through a normal EXE file from yorch.net .... if this is not the case then you most propably have the wrong file format on the SD card.
Give more details plz

present situation
I am at the edge of disperation.
Steps of what I did :
1. Back up Boot and CE to SD and save them to HDD.
2. Build a CE from Yorch.net in nb1 format and write it to SD with an adaptor.
3. Flash the device with that specific file ( was just CE , not including bootloader)
Now, my pocket is like that:
It cannot been powered from the power button
It start when plug in the charger
I cannot go in bootstrap mode ( when procedure for activating is made I just got a small red flash from the LED)
I have to mention that I choose from the yorch options :" lock butons except power when the device is turned off "
So, now I cannot use the SD for try another flash image.
I cannot use activesync because it cannot recognize the device. Somthing is wrong in the header of the authorising string or something like that.
When I plug the USB cable, activesync is starting but after 10 secs a pop up telling me that the device cannot be recognize, it is not a smartphone or pocket pc.
I am stack.

In the boot loader screen, try to press the calendar button ... it should give you the GSM menu. Select "Reset" or "Turn off" and do a soft reset
Plz do NOT try band switching or "Calib/debug"!

It sounds like a failed radio stack upgrade, you can try copying the RSUpgrade.sa.CAB file to your SD card then run it from there.
You can get the RSUpgrade.sa.CAB file by using WinZip to extract it from the RSUv1.15_(GPRS_T32500_ENG)[1].exe file.

Problems!!

If i want to upgrade my wallaby i get an error message in the communications procedure. I have downloaded my ROM from lumpy's kitchen and ive tried to upgrade it many times right now.
Can anyone give me an advise how i could hardflash the ROM of my device?

I think you get an communication error when trying to flash via ActiveSync.
You have to flash via bootloader....

Ive tried to Bootload te rom, but after the message "connect your USB now" the device does not react anymore.
I have tried to run the application rom but this says that active sync does not recognize a device.
What should i do next?

What have you done exatcly, and where is the problem?
It's not really clear for me.
For Flashing via SD-Card there is no USB connection necessary....

I have tried to flash with the bootloader. When i push on the on/off putton and do soft reset i see the question "connect to USB now". If i connect and i start the rom nothing happens.
Afterwards i have tried to put the rom on my SD card. I have tried to do this OSimagetools. The pc does recognize the SD card in my wallaby. I also dont have a cardreader.
Is there a way to flash my wallaby in the bootloader-mode with the USB connection?
What do i have to do for it?

Strange.
You should see device displays a background that consists of four equally sized vertical bars, colored (from top to bottom) white, red, green and blue. On top of this, it says:
WALLABY
Bootloader
V5.14
WAIT
After a few seconds, the WAIT is replaced by GSM OK. Both messages are in the blue bar, but have a white background.
What do you get?
What is labeld on your rear sticker of the device? (modell) ?

Step 1)I have seen the horizontal bars. And its version 5.18. Ive also seen the "GSM OK"- notification.
Step1a)If i connect it afterwards to my USB nothing happens. The computer does not recognize the Wallaby.
Step2) If i hold the On/Off button i get the message "Connect to USB now" If i do this, activesync does recognize my device and i cannot install the ROM.
Step3) after step 1 i press the contacts button and i see 6 ways to backup my rom or GSM. I have backedup my GSM and ROM to SD. But this has no use for me.

Ok. Now I see.....
First of all, you have an totaly unknown Bootloader (5.18) to me, so i hope all steps will work....
You require a SD-Card with >= 64 MB
XDATools ftp://[email protected]/Wallaby/Tools/XDATools.zip
Your downloaded ROM from my kitchen
step1) Boot your XDA up normal and connect via active sync (guest partnership is ok)
step2) Copy all your data of your sd-Card to your local PC otherwise all data on it will be gone
step3) Enter bootloader of your device by pressing On/Off and doing a softreset
step4) After the Message GSM OK press the Contact Button of your device
step5) Navigate with the pad to "CE+BOOT TO SD"
step6) Confirm this with the Action Key (Press the middle of the Navigate-Pad)
step7) After finishing enter again bootloader by holding On/Off and doing a soft reset
step8) Bootloader should tell you something tah OS is detected on your SD-Card
If No -> Problem
If Yes -> continue
step9) Boot your XDA up normal and connect via active sync (guest partnership is ok)
step10) Install XDATools on your PC
step11) in a dos -box (cmd) go to the directoy where osimagetool is located
step12) enter command: "osimagetool -r xdasdslot -w original.nbf"
step13) enter command: "osimagetool --register"
step14) extract the downloaded ROM using winzip
step15) Run osimagetool
step16) Select the nbf-file in the english-folder of the extracted lROM as source and XDASlot as destination
step17) After finishing enter again bootloader by holding On/Off and doing a soft reset
step18) Bootloader should tell you something tah OS is detected on your SD-Card
step19) Press Action Key to install the ROM
step20) After finishing do a hard reset
step21) Now your ROM should be installed on your device.
step22) Locate the created file original.nbf and compress it using winzip
step23) Upload the compressed file to ftp://xdaupload:[email protected]/Wallaby/Uploads
step24) Enjoy your new ROM
That should be alll .....

Thanks, But when i extract the rom to a folder, OS Imagetools cannot find the nbf-file. There is no nbf-file in the extracter-rom-folder. I can only find an nb-file.
There is a file called "NK" which says that its an NBF-file(properties). The file is 32MB large. I have tried to select this file (step 16), but the file is not being recognized. Even if i change the extension of the filename. The OSimage does not support this file.
I Have tried this with 3 ROM's : 2003 SE, 2003 and 2002 neither of them contain the nbf-file in the english folder.
Do you have an advice? I think i am very close right now!!

I have sucseeded to install 2002, but 2003 SE wont be recognized. It says its an usupported file.
Has this anyting to do with the fact that i renamed the file? If so can you tell me how to change the file back??
I have downgraded my wallaby to PPC 2002 right now.

WM2003SE couls only be installed via Exe-File. It can not be flashed with the osimagetool.

Hard Reset can be done by unscrewing your pen and sticking twice in the little hole near the earphone connector. But entering bootloader (power button and soft reset) ha teh same effect.
You can not use the exe file for flashing directly, because flashing via exe file requires a ActiveSync connection between PC an Phone...

If the file is writtten in correct format on the SD Card and you enter the bootloader with the insert SD-Card, it will go automaticly in Flashmode.
If that happend not on your device, the ROM is not written correctly on the SD Card.

there is two hole near ear phone connectre do you want me topress it in the same time for secondes i pressed it but same problem

The way to do a hard reset is to remove the power of the battery. This is done by the small hole on the side of the earphone connector, marked with a battery sign.
But this will not help you. You require a SD-Card and an SD-Card writer to flash a new ROM on your device. All have already said on the first postings.

it aske me for nbi files and i dont have it so from where i can download it .
itry rest+power button then i go to flash tools and i select ce os+boot to sd and i copy it completed then i do rest i go to sd download and i download it but same problem .
so from where i can nb1 files

You can use either nb1 or nbf files. You can extract tgat file from any existing ROM in EXE-Format (using winzip) or download the nbf format from the Romkitchen for example....

As much as ii know there is no Arabic ROM available. Just english, french, spanish, iatlian, german and one chinese version.....

Bricked MY T Mobile Wing NEED HELP

I bricked the phone,,,,and not it wont go past the T-mobile screen that comes when you first start it....It got bricked while i was trying to put on touchflo...i guess i ****ed up somewhere! lol .....anyways I entered it into boot mode...so i can install the RUU the USA version, after doing everything it says congrats u have intalled the blah blah blah....even after that it wont work...it keeps going back to that screen and getting stuck....Also the

SPL=4.10.0000
ANY SUGGESTIONS....lol can i even fix it or its done for good???

Do you have a sd card installed? I thought that I bricked my device a few times and then removed the sd card and was able to reload.

just install the RUU from the bootloader... I just did it now because i bricked mine also and it worked...

i bircked my phone also, but it caused a motherboard change..
my lucky was the warranty and some nice people who helped me..
so be careful..

Try a SD card flash to unbrick your device
This is how:
MAKE SURE THE HERALD IS FULLY CHARGED BEFORE STARTING THE PROCES
#01 Download your original RUU
#02 Download (if not yet installed) WinRar and install
#03 Copy your full sd micro card to your harddisk and format your card with FAT 32
#04 Rightclick the downloaded exe file with your original RUU, click Unpack here
#05 In the map the will be created you will find a file (or similar) called RUU_signed.nbh. Copy this file to your formated sd microcard.
#06 Rename the file to Heraimg.nbh
#07 Get your Herald into bootloader modus by pressing the comm manager button and the camera button and pressing the reset button at the same time. Do not release both buttons until your in bootloader.
#08 Once in bootloader pop in your sd micro card.
#09 As soon as your card is popped in the screen will say something like "Reading SD card". Wait it out till it says "Push button to start" and slide the indicated volume slider down.
#10 The Herald will start the flashing proces. Wait it out till it says "Press any button" and hit the send button.
#11 Perform a hard reset
#12 Voila! Your back in business

You need to download your original RUU from the europe.htc.com website and with this file follow the steps above. If downlaoding this file is for someway impossible to you search the forum for the different RUU's.
Keep in mind it depends on your version (country specifiek of not) and version (Herald, Wing, Vodafone, etc.) which RUU you need.
BTW the needed file is about 40 - 60 MB so it would be impossibel to e-mail it.

i have a ppc6700 and wanted to update my rom (i messed up) so i download it from here the update, and updated my rom and next it wont start up at all...its a pocket pc not a wing... now nothing would work...i already tried hard reset and it does, but then nothin happens

I try to install another rom because my phone don't starts, so i can't use ActiveSync, but when i do it from a microsd card, i get a code in red and then it goes back to the tri-color screen.. Help me please
EDIT: Fixed..

If you can get to the Tricolour screen you should be able (in my experience) to connect to ActiveSync and install a new ROM. (note: you can't browse the contents of your phone that way.)

ROM file that you use is for T - Mobile Wing / HTC Herald, and not for T-Mobile Shadow / HTC Juno

I had alrady this rom but when i put my phn in bootloader mode and install the rom it will starts and stucks at 2% and it says image file is currupted
so how do i flash it frm sd card plz tell me

to resolve it, try installing the ms ActiveSync (for Win XP) or WMDC (Vista and Win 7) on your computer !

to flash the rom does not need to bring the device into botloader, simply connect your phone to your computer and wait until activesync /Windows Mobile Device Center admit and then run instead of .exe file (CustomRUU) at the rom

previously make sure your MicroSD has formatted to Fat32! to format a memory card you can use the SD Formatter
open your file rom with winrar, Drag and drop ruu_signed.nbh file to a folder on computer then rename ruu_signed nbh. file to TOPAIMG.nbh and copy to memory card

You can view the contents of the file and extract it using WINRAR

I Download 5 rom files when i format card using fat in this condition its showning after tri screen looding then no image found and return to tri screen . and when i format card using fat32 its showing loading then chacking then not allow then return to tri screen whats happen bro tell me thanks.

Can attach screenshot your device at the time of the bootloader mode ??

hear is video bro i format mmc with fat32 and fat (same result in both) then put rom file in root dir with change name as you given in this video after tri colour say loding then no image fond then return to tri colout screen back

Is not clear what SPL you have.
Loading then not allow means that ROM is for other country.
Also means that you don't have Hard SPL.
You can recover only with ROM for what country ID have your device.
