Will N910c get Marshmallow? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I own a N910C malaysian carrier, still running kitkat since i did not get lollipop. I found something interesting stating that if you are not on the list then you won't get Marshmallow. Including the link. http://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-is-working-on-marshmallow-for-these-devices-648189/
How much of this is true? I am seriously consider to get Iphone 6s now after reading this ?

I recently read this.
I think Marshmallow 'll be available for Note 4 soon.
Otherwise , Rooting

Read this on facebook... Guess there's no hope for 64bit rom, i just hate it why samsung values SOD 32 bit more than Exynos 5 64 bit ?

Galaxy Note 3 international finally gets LOLLIPOP! SHOULD BE NEXT.

Hey peeps today I've read that the lollipop has started rolling out on the international model note 3. Why didn't we get it first? Idk maybe in the next couple days. What yall think?
Play store has been updating apps left and right the last few days. Usually an indicator of an update.......
Sheath looks different already too
Yea, facebook just updated and it had the lock screen notifications for a second i thought the phone downloaded lollipop i got excited.
am i the only person not excited for LP.... for root users what's it worth we can't even use xposed at the moment..

I feel like the Android community has this "upgrade hype" from years and years of users defending mediocre Nexus devices on the sole leg of "Updates directly from Google". I couldnt agree more though about not having xposed yet on LP. Part of me thinks I will just hold off on updating my TW ROM and keep plugging away on CM12 if I have a desire to be on the bleeding edge.
Screw lollipop on my Note 4.
Phones running 4.4.4 may be destined to be collector's items.. The last rootable phones and all.
Lollipop is locked down. Plus, the truth is, you're getting a shadow of lollipop anyway. The note 4 is a 32 bit phone, lollipop is natively 64-bit. You're running that little 32-bit shell.
No way I'm giving up all the crap I can do and control with my phone just to run the 32-bit version of a 64 bit O/S.
No chance.

LLlipop...supports 64bit it doesn't require it to run and even the nexus 6 is 32bit so you won't see a real change in improvement because a device doesn't have 64bit. The real hog on a smartphone is the got damn skins they put on not andriod itself.....carry on

I was using Lollipop on nexus 6 for more than a month.. There are some significant changes I liked. Eg: smart lock, better recent app list and so on. UI seemed better too.. But really missed xposed and some other apps that were not compatible... I guess eventually everyone will have to ride that boat... I am waiting for the upgrade.
I'll patiently wait for Xposed (or some ART equivalent) before moving to Lollipop. No update fever here!
Why does exposed not work on lollipop? I love exposed framwork and the modules. There some REALLY nice ones devs can't add to there rom. Thus making it a Stan alone thing. I'm honestly just waiting for this taxes lol I'm going to grab me a new laptop and as soon as I get it I'm rooting my phone ASAP. I'm tired of stock. Been since day 1. Now it's just worst! Phone is damn slow! LTE is worse than WiFi. And back& forth. No matter if I factory reset it or anything. My note 3 was way faster than my note 4. Both on t mobile network. Can't wait to OC

Xposed doesn't work on ART only davlik and LP is ART by default
I've never used exposed, ever. I'm totally fine with what lollipop does on stock android. I'm very curious to see the improvements it can bring, even on touchwiz. I'm all in.

I had never used Xposed before either. A lot of the ROMs for my Galaxy Nexus came with it built in, but I thought it was just useless garbage so I promptly deleted it. After figuring out how to use it and seeing the wonderful things it can do I can't live without it.
I'll give Lollipop a shot, but only if the bootloader remains unlocked and downgrading back to 4.4.4 is possible in case I experience severe Xposed withdraws.

Well just because you have a rom that runs 5.x doesn't mean that an official upgrade won't include some locking controls.

Snapdragon & Exynos Note 4

Hi,
Not wanting to start a flame war.....
Has anybody got both the Snap dragon & the Exynos Note 4.
I recently got the Exynos & was thinking do I need the SD version. Was about to sell the SD but really not sure if that's a good idea. Should I keep both, Do I need both?
Does anyone else have both versions?
Thoughts?

keep the Exynos, sell the snapdragon.
keep both , you can do lots of experiment with those
Normally, snapdragon variants has more development. But this time it seems like exynos has more development than SD. Both are good. So if you are a flashaholic, just visit the both exynos and SD development pages and make your choice. Personally, i have exynos one and i'm really pleased with it..

Many Note 5 roms are coming, so you may not need to buy note 5 after all And also, 5.1.1 update improved n4 a lot, it's much faster and battery efficient now..

6.0 will come on this phone ?

Hi all,
I always had Nexus phones, I don't really like samsung.. but this time, I obtained an S6 Edge Plus for nothing, and look into the dev forum, I think this forum is empty of many knowed roms, but the S6 Edge forum is full of tons of roms
My question is WHY ? because this phone is new ? or not many devs are interrested by them ?
Will he have a great XDA support from devs for custom AOSP 6.0 roms ?
I want to know this, because with Nexus and OnePlus phones, I always love to switch and test all custom roms, if I can't make same on this S6 Edge Plus, I will sell them
Thanks a lot

especially that it is the same hardwarev specifications , except the amount of ram, am I wrong?
As far as I know, Samsung has not released the sourcecode for the edge+, making it difficult for devs to build roms for it. Its still possible, but most devs are boycotting the phone in protest against this.
That's why there arent many roms, and it'll probably stay that way. But we will be getting 6.0 sometime in January or February, depending on your carrier.
Yes, but please, STOP Quote entire posts just for that, a simple Quick Reply is Enought

Will mate 8 get Android O ?

Android O seem very impressive for especially the under the hood stuff and performance increase with running apps.
I am sure if Mate 8 Got Android 0 it would get a second life, it would feel like you would get kirin 960.
Android Nougat sucks ... it drains more batteries then marshmallow .... Marshmallow was perfect ...

Personally to answer at all that.
I think Marshmallow was the best for the battery.
I've no issue with Nougat, except maybe like lot, the battery is less efficient. But I don't disturb with it because it works for the day. No need more. We shouldn't wait more of a phone with a big size. Say that 'O' could be worse with its consumption. Many new systems are less energy-consuming than their predecessors.
The only thing which will do that we won't have this new system, certainly, it's because the Android system doesn't do more than one or two update(s) on the devices. In addition, like it's a phone which is not followed, no one will develop unOfficial 'O' like LineageOS or AOSP on this phone. And I regret because this phone could work fine with this OS.
Sorry to say you! YOU, ME... WE had chosen the wrong phone to hope to have lot of updates!!!!
Until now, I was with Samsung Galaxy S serie, for that, this phone was really well desserved. Only thing which disturbs me was this damn knox. Now I almost regret it.

I agree franz , mate 8 is the perfect phone with almost of non related imperfections not pertaining to the phone its self lol. This is where the p9 kernel can be adudited and run Lin. If I could run mm with now let's say oreo animations ,boot , splash, shutdown like I found from a mate 9 fw for oreo ..
Yeah mate 8 is perfect phone but Huawei sucks with update and the really need to talk with their customers ....

Mate 7 got 3 updates, kitkat, lollipop, marshmallow, mate 8 have only got marshmallow and nougat so far so I expect one more major upgrade.
Yeah I know that ... But I don't talk about the OS jumped .... I'm talking about the os ota for region and ... update problem ... they don't fix every problem at once ... they fix 2 problem and with next update they give u 4 problem ... that's I'm talking about .... Android also security update sucks ...

Android O promise easier upgrades for manufactures. So once on Android o it might be easier for them to upgrade to newer version also
Let's hope so
Yes , until I get new OTA for nougat c636B580 update last week . It solve the battery drain problem and it was perfect now . So guy get your latest patch or update then you will feel the different
Sent from my HUAWEI NXT-L29 using Tapatalk
It is possible to get Android O.because it's GPU is same as galaxy s7(just different is in cores). Huawei reason for nougat for mate 7 was gpu.but I don't think Huawei will update mate 8 to O.

Personally I would find it very strange and also a brand suicide to not give Mate 8 Android O.
Mate 8 is still one of the most fast performing phones and have that reputation. It is a top notch device minus the camera, but not every one care about camera, it is the screen, speed of software and form factor that counts for me..and it looks damn sexy to I think (I recently modded mine to mocha brown).
I will say this if Mate 8 does not get android o I will not buy Huawei again..
In terms of Mate 7 I can understand, it still got , kit kat, then lollipop then marshmallow it was kind of a lot of updates...even though I personally think mate 7 would really had benefited from nougat and android o.
I believe Mate 8 get Android O (last update maybe). Huawei already working on new "O" system.
https://galagram.com/2017/06/kakie-smartfony-obnovyatsya-do-android-8-0/
Mate 8 should get O, because its a 64 bit processor. Android O, is built on 64bit.
I hope its module driven, that way, it'll just built itself by downloading drivers for the hardware on the phone. Updates would become very easy, and bugs with things like the camera could be squashed really quick.
I don't know if this is a reliable source, but it says that we will be getting Android O in November 2017:
https://www.gammerson.com/2017/04/list-huawei-honor-devices-getting-android-oreo-update.html
Well... Will we get Oreo? I couldn't find any info....
No chance. Huawei abandoned this model already.
I am hoping for at least the Wi-Fi Krack fix through Android security patch but I am not very optimistic.
What do you mean by wifi crack?
Do you have the same problem with slow wifi connection?

developement dead?

So been floating around past few months and it seems developement for the s6 edge plus is dead..
Is anyone working on anything?
Any roms due an update?
Anyone working on anything special?
This is not a moaning post, simply a post to see if we have anyone activly working on any developements or if developement is dead
Thanks in advance
Kriss
Had the similar feeling from last couple of weeks. I wish someone please shed some light on upcoming developments particularly about ROMS. Would be much obliged.
Same feeling here...Pixel rom seems to be the only one alive.
Great phone, small development....
Yeah i stupidly bought the verizon variant, here i am stuck without a single root. Gonna sell it soon and maybe get a s7 edge
Maybe when Oreo comes the development will be active again?
Can we flash every Note 5 rom on our s6 edge+? As I have recently flashed the updated version of Dr. Ketan ROM for Note 5 on my s6 edge+ and it is working flawlessly...
yes dead
