I have searched the internet and have seen a few threads about this, but they are all quite old, haven't been updated in a while and lastly none of them worked for me. I have an unlocked LG D802, running 5.0.2 on software version V30a-AME-XX. I haven't used this phone in a while, so i updated it last night and now my mobile data doesn't work. It worked fine before the update but even with the correct APN plugged in, mobile data just doesn't kick on.
Has anyone figured out anything about this?
UPDATE, turns out the update caused an IMEI mismatch on my network (at&t) and that's why data wasn't working.
I only found out because I switched to my iPhone 6S and got "4G" but still no data, and because I've dealt with this numerous times I knew exactly what was wrong.

Hey everyone,
Had the Galaxy S2 since Saturday, unlocked the device, everything was working great. Out of no where, yesterday the phone still shows the H+ logo and full signal, yet i cannot send, receive text messages, initiate a data connection or make/receive phone calls.
In order to get all that ability back, you either have to 1) reboot the device, or 2) turn airplane mode on then off.
This only works for roughly 10 minutes before it all happens all over again.
I tried swithing to WCDMA only, but issue still persists, even tried some menu codes I found on another thread to disable H+ but the same thing happens.
This is currently happening on the bell shipped rom with no root or anything of the sort.
Has anyone experienced this?
I've searched for hours but can only really find complaints of data connection loss only. In my case it's everything. Data / SMS / Cell
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I feel your pain, even though I have an XEU unlocked GS2, I've updated it with every update from kies hoping the issue would resolve.
Even with the latest KF3 update the issue persisted, however the phone could be used on Rogers with no issues, on Telus data drops constantly.
Disabling fast dormancy didn't do much to help.
However since updating the phone to KG3 2.3.4 yesterday I have not had the issue happen again. For the first time since I got the phone it no longer drops the data connection on Telus.

Thanks for the quick response. Was it only your data that disconnected, or everything else?
Also, may you please link me to the update? I suppose I could use that as a last ditch effort before exchanging the device before its too late.
My issue has changed over the past couple months, originally the phone would report that it dropped the network and when it came back data wouldn't work until airplane off then on or a reboot.
Lately things seemed fine with occasional data drops until yesterday, when it had full signal but I couldn't use data, sms or make a call. It was basically a paper weight until I updated it. The link to the file which has everything you need to update from samfirmware.com is below.

*edit - I'd make sure you have a back-up of your current firmware in case you need to flash back and return the phone.
I have the exact same problem. Bought a bell gs2 unlocked it and now with telus. My data dropped constantly and now I'm using the newest litening rom and now it only drops maybe once or twice a day so a huge improvement

If it's any consolation, I ran my Virgin SIM over the weekend (just to burn up the data I had to buy for a 1 month) and the same thing happened on stock firmware.
In my case, it would put me in "emergency calls only" mode, saying I wasn't authorized for the network (i.e. it wasn't recognizing my SIM). Tried the usual stuff (re-seating SIM, using the Telus SIM, reboots, cache wipes, network WCDMA/GSM selection etc), and nothing fixed it, it just seemed to come back on its own when it was good and damned ready no matter which SIM I used.
Flashed to "Frankenstein" KG3 on Sunday, and neither the Virgin or Telus SIM has lost network since then, in the same areas. WiFi seems to be working better too.
I just got the Galaxy Note Edge this weekend and it updated to 5.1.1. Well before the update, for the brief few hours I had it on 4.4.4 and it updated over night on its own and before it updated the Wi-Fi worked great. Well after the update, it doesnt work. I have connected to multiple wifi connections and they all do the same thing, it just connects fine but the speed is horrible. All the data it shows about the connection is normal but its like the wifi antenna or something in the update has been messed up? I have no clue. I talked to sprint customer service for several hours and the only solution they could come up with was exchanging the phone. So I did. And still the same thing. So the only option left is that it is because of the 5.1.1 update. Unless someone has any other ideas to make the WiFi work normal....
factory reset after update 5.1.1
I'm in Japan for a couple of weeks for work and signed up for the Japan pack that Sprint offers. I spent almost an entire week working with Sprint support ( ) trying to get data roaming working properly on the phone without much luck (voice and text worked great), but yesterday I lost all connectivity but wifi. Figuring I must have changed something I shouldn't have, I saved everything I could and did a hard reset on the phone.
It still won't connect to any networks. I've re-downloaded PRL and device configs over wifi in the settings but it doesn't even attempt to connect to any wireless networks, or see any for that matter.
I have 2 guesses here but I'd like some kind of confirmation here before I take any action.
1: Maybe my radio firmware is corrupted somehow? I'm not exactly sure how to check it but it just doesn't seem to be doing much of anything. In the SIM status page it says searching for network, but I have no way to know if that's really the case.
2: Since the phone has a Sprint SIM, does it has to be on an actual Sprint network to initialize the networks? (Not Softbank's network here in Japan?) I spent over an hour on Google Voice with them last night trying to get an answer/help but got absolutely nowhere.
The phone is currently all stock but I have no problem unlocking and installing recoveries/software/roms if need be. Any ideas what I can do here or am I just stuck without communication until I get home next week?
Usually the best route is to get a local prepaid sim while traveling but honestly I have no idea what sprint offers for roaming in Japan. Check your plan and see if there is an add on needed.
I'm not alone!
Also THIS IS STILL AN ISSUE!
It worked fine for me last time I came to Japan, about a year ago. This time, I only have voice and text, no data. Right now I'm backing everything up to do a factory reset.
Did you ever find a solution to this?
I'm not sure if you've already done your factory reset, but if you're on Sprint, don't do a reset. The phone can't reactivate itself off of Sprint towers. You have to be in the US when you do the reset. I was stuck with WiFi only for most of my time there because I reset mine.
I never found a solution other than dropping Sprint when I got back to the states. Switched to Verizon and never looked back, though I'm not sure what I'm going to do for my next trip with their ridiculous international rates.
I actually got it working last night.
Factory reset and restore over wifi
Update device config over wifi -> handles activation
Update PRL over wifi 3 times
Now it works
Oh, I'm glad it worked. Is yours on Sprint?
Yes, but I may have spoken too soon. It worked for a few hours and now isn't getting back on data. I think it may be SIM related, since I saw a weird SIM error pop up and rebooted my phone, which led to the data working the first time
They must have redone their activation system since I had my issue in July. At that time there was no way for the phone to reactivate without being on Sprint's system.
As far as the data, that's the same thing I had happen and they were never able to solve the problem. It would work for a little while then stop for no reason. If you find a solution I'd love to hear it though.
I'm wondering if I can flash a different radio or something
Hi every one,
As the title says I've been using an Unlocked i337 with Simple Mobile carrier for the better part of a year now with zero issues, and happy with my 4G data working fine for a very long time until today when I seen my phone was only showing Edge data with the "E" indicator. I have tried searching and troubleshooting it, and nothing comes up. I recently rooted but 4G data was working just fine even after root. I have checked APN settings and toggled off and on. I went into the test menu and GSM/LTE is selected. I don't have any option in the settings menu to turn 4G off or on. What seems to be the problem?
Also for the record I have called Simple Mobile customer service for help but they can barely understand me let alone help me but they did check my account to see if any thing got adjusted and they resent OTA signal to my phone and every thing checked out fine. They just kept telling me restart my phone about 10 times.
Model: i337
Android Version: 4.2.2
If I haven't included any other crucial details let me know. Thanks
I recently got an LG-H872 to replace my daughter's old (broken) phone. When I set it up, I let it update for a couple hours... rebooting each time and check-in for new updates. It's completely up-to-date now and 100% unmolested.... no root, no TWRP, etc.
After putting the SIM in, it connects to T-Mobile for calls/texts, but gets no mobile data (only wifi). I've gone through all the mobile data settings, roaming settings, APN, and the like. I've also called TMO to make sure data was turned on for the line (which has happened to me before, when switching phones).
Anyone have issues with an LG-H872 not getting data?
I'm still having this issue and have absolutely no idea how to fix it. I've even tried my sim in the phone to rule out an issue with her account, and it also does not work.

Try factorying it except rooting and installing different firmware that's all i can tell you unless it's a hardware issue
