Hi, I recently bought an s3 neo (1.5 gb ram, non dual sim) and I've been thinking about installing a custom rom on it.
The problem is that I'm not familiar with this phone and I'm not sure what rom to choose, I'm looking for something that can improve battery life and performance. Also a good kernel would be good, thanks in advance.

I use Resurrection remix 5.5.9 with renix kernel v2.4 zram version its very stable and have good battery life and some customizations. If u like pure Android use Cm12.1 its very good rom too.

Look i use stock rom for performance and when I'm travelling i flash s3ve3n kernel

Try Rox last 12.1 ROM. It's running fast and is battery friendly.
I have RR 5.5.9 with intelli tweal and extreme sound tweak. It work good and fast. I can´t say anything about the battery because I have an anker Battery, not the original.
Guyz please see my screenshot attachment.. In every custom roms of marshmallow or Lollipop.. Doesn't matter which kernel I'm using, I face slow charging while using mobile data (3G). I don't face charging issue when not using data.. But when using mobile data my charging speed is like 10 ma to 30 ma.. That is weird and tooo slow. But nor my cable or charging adapter is broken because I only face this in custom roms .In miui my charging speed is 300-400 ma when heavy apps are in use with mobile data use. So the problem is in custom roms.. Is there any way to solve? As I already tried all custom kernels, don't ask me to use another custom kernel. Help will be appriciated. It happens with all custom roms and with all custom kernels.. Only in MIUI it gives 300-400 ma while using mobile data.. Having this issue with custom roms.. Please help

Bro it's not a rom issue,it's your charger issue,try with a 2A output charger,it'll charge fine,the kernel in all the present rom has the issue of slow charging fixed.
@s.sawrav if it is a charger issue then why it didn't occur in miui I'm 100% sure that my charger is ok
And I'm 100% sure that it's not a custom rom issue, it's your charger,as i told before the slow charging issue has been fixed in every kernel source.
@s.sawrav I think you didn't noticed my whole comment, It only charges slow when mobile data is on.. Otherwise it charges normally :/ It charges 1% in 20-25 minutes when using Mobile data.. Otherwise when data is off it charges in 2 hours... Please try to understand
Which redmi 2 version you have and have you flashed this rom with latest version of TWRP recovery.?

I m using Phantom kernel r7 and its the best I m using it on RR 5.7.1 rom.
Use stock kitkat for best battery life. No custom kernel on LP or MM can give great battery life.
Use stock KitKat ROM for better battery performance ...????????

I am running a NOTE7 based Rom Aurora .. my battery was dying as it would charge .. the only way to get it to charge was shut it down. I am currently on another Note7 based ROM Note4Grace ... I have searched high and low for a really good battery friendly kernel. Performance is some what important but not 100% I need this battery to not die as much. So what I am asking does ANYONE in the XDA community prefer a kernel for battery performance or something that can help. I have tried RAM kernel, I recently tried using Exceed and its not for my N910V, tried AEF kernel ( if spelt right ) along with a few Beastmode kernels. Please if anyone has some advice WITH links .....

And download kernal adiutor
