Bluetooth

Does anyone know a way to have notification when the Bluetooth is connected (the blue light flashs when you have Btooth enabled not connected). I would like to have it somewhere on the home screen.
Also I have the option to upgrade to the 8925 FOC. Any reason why this is not a good idea?
THanks for hte help

[Q] WiFi + Bluetooth = Fail?

I received the Nexus 10 32gb on Friday and have noticed the following problem:
When I have WiFi on and my Bluetooth controller connected, the WiFi and Bluetooth signals will completely shut off and restart consistently within a 5-10 minute time frame. I have seen posts regarding WiFi problems and also general Android 4.2 Bluetooth problems, so I am not sure if this is related, or perhaps more insight into what is wrong with these units (or at least mine).
Has anyone else experienced this?
What I am doing specifically when this happens is this: WiFi is connected to 5ghz router signal, Bluetooth is turned on and paired to a Nyko Playpad controller (BTW, the paring is way more finicky than with my Note 10.1 which I am trying to replace with the Nexus). I then start playing a game with Mame4droid Reloaded or Nesoid and consistently within about 5 to 10 minutes, the controller will become unresponsive. If I go back to the home screen when this happens, I see the WiFi icon is now only an outline (no blue or grey signal bars in it), then the Bluetooth icon goes from blue to grey. Then, after a few seconds they both come back on and I have to re-connect my controller.
I haven't noticed the WiFi dropping in general use, and if I turn off WiFi and use the controller, it seems to not disconnect/drop out.
Update: Last night I watched a full 2hr NFL game streamed through NFL Game Rewind and at one point playback stopped. The WiFi indicator turned grey and I had no internet connectivity (couldn't even open any sites in Chrome). I turned off WiFi and when I turned it back on again, it just hung on "starting WiFi"- or whatever it says and there was no list of available connections, etc. I had to power down and restart to get it back up.
Then, I used the Nyko Bluetooth controller to navigate the menus and some apps to see if it would disconnect as it does when gaming. Same thing happened- both WiFi and Bluetooth connections cut off and restart...
I am obviously returning this unit, but I hope to see if the same thing happens to anyone else as far as WiFi/Bluetooth is concerned. No one else has used a Bluetooth controller effectively with their Nexus 10 yet?
I have seen complaints for this same issue on the Galaxy Nexus forums. Seems like they think it's a Android 4.2 issue.

[Q] BT for Galaxy S4 with BMW

After getting the Galaxy S4 it has been connected to our Pacifica (Chrysler) for BT hands Free. The same does not work correctly with BMW. The car sees the Galaxy but does not accept the pairing code. We know it is a general problem because friends have the same problem. An IPhone 5 works correct, but the Galaxy should work too. Any recommendation?
No problems here. i9505 works like charm with my E90.
Even my phonebook get syncd perfect and i can call contacts per BMW voice commands.
The only problem I have with my E92 with professional nav system is that the phone signal strenght indication on the car does not update when the phone screen is off. For the rest it works like a charm, contact photos included. You have to start the pairing procedure from the phone. The car does not see the phone even if you set it visible. Once you touch the car Bluetooth name on the phone Bluetooth settings everything works as it's suppose to.
Once you pair it can you cofirm if you have the same problem that I experience with the signal strenght indication?
Cheers

N6P MM6.0.1 Spontaneous Erasing Of ALL Bluetooth Connections

Hello,
So I have not seen this one listed... I have been running into a VERY obnoxious intermittent Bluetooth issue. I'm very curious to know if anyone else has had this happen or is having this happen and if ANYONE has any sort of workaround/fix/thoughts/help! I posted this on my car forum as well since it only happens when connected to one of my cars:
All,
I'm having a terrible issue with Bluetooth on my 2015 S85. I'm concurrently working on the Android side to also research.
The problem is with my Nexus 6P running Marshmallow 6.0.1. This is why I'm fearing it's a narrow issue, how many of you who have a Tesla also have a Nexus 6P?
Issues:
1. Bluetooth connection is terrible between this car and my phone. The Bluetooth drops frequently and does not reconnect, or during a call it will just go silent even though it is connected. I am not pressing mute nor anything else to trigger this other than answer the call via the vehicle
2. The really bad problem I am experiencing is where somehow my phone is wiping ALL bluetooth connections when it connects to my vehicle (intermittently this is). This would be a minor inconvenience if I did not have existing bluetooth connections for various other devices, vehicles, watches, etc.
Has anyone else experienced these issues? Can anyone offer any sort of solution or work around/suggestion other than NOT connecting the phone to the Tesla? It is only with this car that my multiple connections get wiped.
Thanks

Send notifications to another device via bluetooth (android radio)

Hello:
I have an android bluetooth radio in the car and I would like to know if there is any application, how are you for smarthwatchs, which sends notifications via bluetooth without internet
since I have found some that synchronize notifications but over the internet, and I only give the internet to the radio when I'm interested
Cheers

Unfortunately AFAIK there are no Bluetooth-only apps for this job, but there is one free/no-ads app that works via WiFi, so the head unit has to be connected to the same wireless network as the smartphone (hotspot usually, or a usb wifi dongle). No internet required.
The app is EasyJoin Essential
https://easyjoin.net/android.html
You can get it also on XDA.
I've tested it, a received notification can be shown on the HU in 3 ways: as a standard notification, as a popup, or as a toast.
Due to the small text visibility problems and to the short time when the notification remains on screen I prefer the popup way which remains on screen until you click on the X in the window's upper right corner.

Thank you very much, but every time I get in the car do I have to make an access point?
Or can I make my phone connect to the wifi of the automatic car?
On the other hand I have tried https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lumatjiang.watchdroidassistant&hl=es and it works on two mobile phones
but in the android head unit you never get to connect, not even with QR
I have set a Tasker task to start the smartphone hotspot as soon as the smartphone bluetooth is connected to the head unit.
Then the HU wifi automatically finds the smartphone hotspot and connects to it.
Then you can set another tasks to start the EasyJoin app, or manually start the app on both devices.
It's not very easy to setup, but can be done with a little effort.
Other similar apps (free and simpler)) can be used instead of Tasker.
I will try to see if I can share the connection by bluetooth
The bluetooth stack of the android head units has apparently reduced functionalities compared to the smartphone and smartwatch bluetooth stacks, so even bluetooth tethering is generally not available.
it's true, it doesn't connect to the internet with bluethoot
