I have Been using g2 for quiet a while, with roms from 5.0 Lp to 6.0mm, but I am facing audio hissing issues in all roms I use. I have search for it and realise it is a software issues sinces android 4.4.2 update, I just want to ask is there any fix for apps rom? That really annoys me as I listen to music quite often..
I didn't have this with stock based roms + dorimanx' kernel. And USB audio worked. At least on CloudyG2 rom AptX was present too. That's why I will probably leave AOSP.
Is there a rom with all those features?

Is there a good tw rom that has the louder sound like the stock hc3.1 ota rom?
Ive noticed that my sound is much louder using the hc 3.1 ota rom than using the tw kme rom.
I agree. We lost loudness with TW update. I was asking myself if it were my ears, but even the startup logo screen was louder before. My SGSII is louder than this one. Is there a hack to increase loudness? We used to have with HTC phones of earlier days? But they were WM 5 or 6.
all i want to know is, flex roms has this compatibility with g2 stock audio system?
- Sonido Dolby Mobile
- Sonido 24 bits/192KHz
I know that all aosp/aospa/omni/etc got no compatibility with this, i dont know why,m but sound is really bad compare to stock... so, beside stock, flex rom based got this compatibility? (flex mobile does not, this is why i ask to you this...)

Really would hate to bump such an old thread but I'm also wondering whether the G3 based roms or Flex based roms or gpro based roms have these features?

I got tired trying to find anything better than stock, yes STOCK, roms and.... nothing.... there's no non-stock rom based with this beatifull sound quality.... i recommend you pardus.... You'll have battery and performance.... if you stay on really stock official, try dorimanx he had update sound drivers and its really nice, like jb sound quality (wich was better than kk)
let me know if its clear!!!!!

I would stay on stock except the whole UI is so ugly...
I can't stand the G2 ui. I really hope that the 5.0 Update that LG gives us has the G3 UI so I can use stock without wanting to tear my eyes out. (No offense to anyone who likes the G2 UI). I tried to change the look of the UI but no matter what the G2 UI would still be somewhere (couldnt remove it all) and I'm a perfectionist so having the G2 UI in one place and the UI I substituted in other places looked really bad to me.. If there is a comprehensive theme for a stock based G2 ROM then I'd be happy to stay however most themes are only for the launcher. I was also going to go onto pardus but it still has the stock UI everywhere but the homescreen...
I'm using dorimanx and cloudyg3 and the sound quality is kinda worse than my old nexus 5 so I am really looking forward to the day LG updates our UI (inb4 they never do). (Using ViPER4ANDROID on both phones)

Yeah i agree. Ill just wait till we get our official lollipop release and then ill have the great audio quality as well as the other benefits of stock based roms.
Cloudyg3 has this but i have no clue about the 24 bit audio
This effect sounds bad though so i dont use it. It distorts the sound and adds an echo type effect...
Look, I don't want anyone get mad, but V4A do nothing. It's like, for me, my opinion, dsp manager... The el from cm.... Again there's no aosp, aokp, etc roms that give us the image quality and audio quality like stock... I am really disappointed how all aosp roms are built on G2, cero quality......
Hey there! I have a Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 (HLTEXX) and have noticed that since flashing a custom rom, (Carbon Rom) recorded video has very low audio.
I went back to stock 4.3 to test and recorded video sounded normal, the same as video recorded on my previous device, an i9300 running Carbon Rom.
I have tested on my HLTEXX with Temasek's Unofficial CM11, with and without Temasek kernel, Official CM11, with and without Temasek Kernel/ Lean Kernel and again with Carbon Rom with Temasek Kernel and Lean Kernel.
When using one of the mentioned kernels, I used Trickster Mod app to try and increase the Mic Gain for video camera.
With Temasek Kernel, as soon as I ticked to apply settings, they reverted back to default. With Lean Kernel, the values appeared to stick but as soon as video was recorded, the values had reverted back to default and recorded video was still quiet.
Does anyone have any ideas how to increase mic gain when recording video? Or is it simply a case of waiting for more kernel sources?
I would appreciate any input, bearing in mind I am just an enthusiast with a basic knowledge of flashing roms and customising my android devices!
Thanks in advance

Haha! No one seems to mention it and mostly my queries have gone unacknowledged, hence the post. But Carbon on G+ were very helpful, Matt went through some troubleshooting and let me test a modified media_profiles file, which increased the audio bit rate and made it stereo but the volume wasn't changed. The low volume is most noticeable when viewing the clips on a PC.

Out of interest, did you come from 4.3 or 4.4 stock rom? I'm wondering if the bootloader would make any difference, but don't know enough about that sort of thing to be sure. I'm considering testing a 4.3 custom rom, then perhaps flashing a stock 4.4 and rooting/ flashing Carbon again, but there's no going back then!

I'm on 4.4 I don't remember the sound on 4.3 to be honest

So you had 4.4 stock touchwizz before rooting and flashing a rom? Damn, I hoped that might make a difference!

At least with you on 4.3 and me on 4.4 we know it's not that.

I have the same problem as you when I switched to the Resurrection Remix AOKP rom. It made me switch back to Jedi elite kk touchwiz rom until they fix it.

I don't seem to have that issue, but I'm in the uk with just 4g, no LTE (I thought they were the same thing!) But Bluetooth sometimes won't work for me, it's a bit temperamental.

Thanks, but am talking about the built in mics and gain provided by the OS.

Anything new on the recorded audio issue? I skim all the threads and changelogs for all the different aosp ROMS but never see anyone even mention the issue other than the two of us.

It's gone quiet but Matt said he'd mention it to kernel devs a little while back as he'd experienced it for himself.

@954wrecker Have a look at Temasek's twitter for some excellent news! Not tested yet, but about to!

Hello. I'm going to change my OPO because of it is too big and touchscreen issue drives me crazy.
I'm just curious if cm12.1 is better than stock ROM for s5.
I've herd that there is no official Samsung's kernel source support, so custom ROMs are garbage.
It that true? I love CM, and I want my future phone to run CM smoothly as nexuses or 1+1.
What about camera cm vs stock? Is battery good on cm12/12.1?
My experience: ROM is flying compared to stock. Everything is faster and smoother.
Yet I choose to use a stock based ROM (themed to look like AOSP). Primarily because bluetooth audio streaming stutters.
Cm camera is OK, but stock is much better.
In my experience battery is more or less the same.

Is cm12.1 stable enough for daily usage? Are there any other issues with BT, WiFi, GPS?
Well, cm12.1 has enough bugs, GPS not working, Bluetooth can crash, also less features. I installed it mostly because it is now based on android 5.1.1, which has working WiFi, and Samsung ROM is 5.0, buggy as hell, plus they will not release updates till Christmas. Anyway, s6 ROM 5.1.1 is in testing, and when it will be released, it will be ported to s5, so I will install it.
GPS crashes in my s5 never,Bluetooth headset stutters a little bit but it can be fixed with Bluetooth patcher.
I would say Samsung stock Roms are definitievly better but cm 12.1 is also good and it has started just a few month ago,so waiting is the best choice you could do

Hello, I'm curious. What is the Bluetooth patcher you're talking about?
I've search with no descent results.
Thank you
It's called BT Patcher and it is needed for Ant + products to Connecticut Thema with your device.
Ant + products are things like smart watch ...etc
I dont know if the BT patcher is necassery for headset but you could test it ,it seems for me like if it makes the stuttering lower
Reading through the forums I noticed some people are complaining that their OP 2 volumes are too low and some too high?
For me, it's definitely too LOUD. Even on the lowest step, Ringtones/Notifications/Alarms are ridiculously loud. Media - not so bad.
On Oxygen OS 2.2.1-2 I can solve the issue by disabling 'Audio Effects', then it's fine. The MM beta is too loud.
The only other rom/firmware I have used where the volume is acceptable is Hydrogen OS (LP and MM). All the other roms I've tried (about 15) it is way too loud.
Anyone else have the same issue or a fix or is my phone knackered?? I'd prefer a custom rom over Oxygen OS, but I can't be doing with how loud it is.
Audio is currently f*cked up on OOS3 beta and all ROM's based on it - although team Iridium claims it is fixed on their Oxydium, cannot confirm. CM13 also has it's quirks like being too loud, but at least audio quality is OK with V4A. We are waiting for new beta, or final release of OOS, then released sources for CM guys to implement them.
Thanks for the info. I'll take a look at Oxydium.
