So LG released a white-gold G4 five days ago as a "Korean exclusive". Not for long though. Here in Singapore it was released on Saturday as a dual-SIM variant.

I bought it. (Btw, the back is has a white non-patterned matte finish.) There was a really good deal on it. For the same price as the leather G4 (on contract), you got the phone, battery charging kit, 128GB microSD card (Class 10 UHS-1) and two leather backs (pink and blue). I snapped on the blue leather back and here are some pics.
The "gold" sides look like gold as long as you're in good lighting. If not, it looks just like the sides of the regular G4. I like the matte feeling of the back, but the white has made me a little scared that it would get dirty easily.
They included 2 leather backs (pink + blue) -- which are NOT the official LG leather backs. They are VOIA brand. However, on the box of these leather cases, they call it "Original accessory licensed by LG". Design is almost exactly the same as the LG one, except there is no stitching and there is some metallic plastic at the sides (so the leather doesn't go until the very edge of the back -- see the photos). But texture of leather is exactly the same as the original LG one. I think this design will actually prevent the leather from peeling as easily as the original.
Besides that, they also gave a free 128GB microSD card (Class 10 SDXC, also Voia brand) and microSD adapter, 2 plastic screen protectors, and battery charging kit, which I appreciate.
If you've got any questions or opinions, feel free to express them!

I notice the metallic plastic around the camera, the edges also are quite different with a gold rim. It looks like it envelops the front bezel. That's good as the bezel chips easily.Wonder if its compatible with other G4's. Any way to check ?
I suppose this is better than a bumper which VOIA btw also makes.. The corners are usually where it wears.
Blue isn't very common out in the wild. Still debating whether to get it or not.
Is this original back cover or voia?

White looks great!
That Voia back looks amazing (better than the original imho!) and I also want one (but unable to find it anywhere, yet) :good:
Yep its an improved version of the leather backs. Notice how there is a rim that raises above the camera so camera is protected.
also enveloping the bezel so its more safe from knocks is good.
All you need is a tg protector and you can rock that thing naked
Thing is colour matching becomes more important now. All those extra gold accents will not work with silver buttons.
Hope LG will release these backs, there is an interest in leather backs.
Just see this guy
Very nice looking phone. I guess the sides are still plastic?
Could you share the link from which you bought it from? Or was it from the LG page?

This is so beautiful.. If that back casing will be available, I will definitely buy that.. True that the old back cover doesn't protect the camera from scratching which is a little bit, annoying..
That colour looks really good.

I bought it off a retail store here in Singapore! All authorised retailers in Singapore have this phone with the same deal. Besides here and Korea, I don't think you'll be able to get it elsewhere.

It seems the back is only on sale in Korea, and not even available online. I still can't find any online shop that sells it, but you may be able to contact the seller via the email on that site.
And that colour collection is really impressive.

Hi. I ordered a bumper from an eBay seller. It's arrived and for some reason I think it's a fake. It arrived in an envelope, and feels quite plastic. Is there any real way to determine if it's real or fake? The sellers image was the standard bumper image from the play store but that's pretty much the only picture of the bumper online.

I got mine from the Google Play Store, it looks exactly like yours, yours is an original bumper, not a fake one.
I doesn't look right to me. Especially the usb cutout. Your last picture looks much more sloppy than mine.
If it didn't come in google packaging then it is probably from the same factory as the official ones but not a genuine google case as such
looks legit
compared it to mine (which i don't use) and it looks identical except for the shot of it upside down with the usb side looking frayed. was it used? it's just too wide for me but i like the fact that you can see the back of the device. for now its diztronic tpu for me. how much did you pay?
I paid too much as it was ordered about 2 weeks ago, before anything about the play store ones coming back in to stock was known

it's fake. the replica's have been floating around for the past few weeks and if you ordered it on ebay and the listing didn't state 100% original LG bumper then huge chance its a replica. who cares tho? unless you overpaid of course.

Yeah, I got mine from the playstore and the usb cutout looks different. It's a bigger cutout on yours, mine has a small lip. It would actually make more sense the way yours is cutout though, mine rubs against anything I plug in.
Your usb port looks different than mine.
I think it's safe to assume any bumper outside the play store is fake...
It is real, it matches my official bumper.
Can someone with one from the play store upload a pic of the USB?
Mine is from eBay, however it came unopened in a Google Play box, and looks exactly like that.
Pull the hard plastic ring away from the rubber and see what color it is on the inside. People on the replica pre-order thread are reporting that the fakes are white plastic on the inside and the real ones are grey or black.

Kind of an old thread, but I recently bought a bumper from someone off craigslist before I realized there were fakes out there. However, I think I got lucky. My usb port also looks different with a bigger lip as others have described and I can also confirm that the interior of my plastic is gray. I also noticed after I took off the metallic plastic that the LG logo and some model number info are molded into the black TPU portion of the bumper. Can anyone confirm whether or not the fakes have the LG logo molded in the TPU. I imagine they don't but you never know.
thanks for any help. I would love to know if mine is fake or not. I won't do anything about as it isn't worth the time or money but would be interesting to know if someone went to such efforts to scam me for a few bucks (I only paid 20 and it was supposedly new although the seal at the top of the box had most certainly been opened, which he claimed was only to test it).

Has anyone bought this before? It looks quite similar to the Rearth Hybrid Fusion. Add in the shipping from Amazon to Canada, and it's only a one dollar difference.

To me it looks like a frosted back, for this look you can get one way cheaper on eBay. I'm just going off of the thumbnail you have posted though. Could be wrong.
The shipping for the fusion to Canada is ridiculous! I've been thinking about ordering a few and getting them shipped to a mail delivery place in at the us border and then picking them up but after reading reviews that I wasn't sure it was worth it.

That's what I'm worried about too. I'm hoping that it's similar to the GN case ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859080 )
Saw it at a Future Shop. It's clear like the Ringke Hybrid Fusion.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Two more things to note:
1) it doesn't have the bumps at the corners like the Ringke Fusion, but the TPU lip extends above the plastic. The lip also rolls up over the screen edge, but not as much as my off-brand Diztrinuc matte TPU.
2). No watermarks, rough edges, or button issues. While the covers over the buttons are nearly flush with the rest if the edges, the TPU is thinner and has ridges moulded into the TPU, so the buttons work properly, without needing to mash them. You can feel the buttons beneath the covers, and they provide proper tactile feedback when pushed.
So, it appears the issues with the Ringke Hybrid's buttons are wry fixable, as the factory that made this case did what Ringke couldn't. It's not the exact same mould being used... but it's close. Almost identical to the one they used for the Galaxy Nexus, but with the button issues of that model fixed (you couldn't feel the buttons on the GNex version either, just like the Ringke).
Curious if they're using polycarbonate as opposed to maybe acrylic though.
It's clear polycarbonate. The sides are the matte-finish TPU, and it's not quite as thick as the Diztronic TPU on the sides.
On the upside, it doesn't have those moulding flaws reported in the Ringke Hybrid Fusion thread, and the buttons have proper indentations with thinner material in the sides to let it depress properly. Also, the PC doesn't press against the back the way the Ringke Hybrid does.
But it's definitely more slippery than my matte-finish TPU case due to the PC back. The shiny sides/matte back of my off-brand Diztronic has bad button response but more grip, due to the matte back. I may have to look at an InvisibleShield, just for the tacky orange-peel to provide a grip pier, yet still transparent surface.

When I get some daylight. It'll be from an inferior camera, alas.
Also, given some of the complaints about the Hybrud Fusion, it seems there's nowhere to go but up. I wouldn't call this a good deal at full retail price, though.
A few more photos. The buttons don't stick out at all, but they aren't stiff.

I returned my leather phone due to the touchscreen issue, I think I'm finally convinced to replace it with the plastic one.
My leather one was looking old even with it being in a case. I returned it and got a Metallic Grey one instead.
So it is a lot better to get the Metallic Grey instead of any leather back?

Obviously the solution is to not remove it from your pocket on a daily basis.
Seriously though, wtf, LG? This should have been one of the first things to QC, right after "Does the leather actually stick to the plastic?"
But hey! 2 for $70!!! lol wow LG... I think I'll finally get a case and hope 1- that the leather holds up and 2- that the case will fit...

Uh, function is still there. The function of the back cover is to keep everything in the back from falling out.

I think of it as form = looks good on surface, function = how it actually performs. In this case the leather looks good on the surface but in reality is garbage.

I laughed at this because I ditched Samsung for this phone. I was loyal to Samsung for a few Galaxy's. I was even made a Rom for a Samsung device. I find the G4 far superior to the Galaxy line. I will be extra happy when the screen glitch is fixed with the missed taps.
Its kind of neat seeing all the different opinions about device choices.
On topic, I chose the metallic grey because I when I viewed both backs and felt them, I felt the leather back seemed to be a cheap plastic fake leather.
Honestly, I'm surprised that so many people are surprised by this. I mean, has anyone noticed how thin the leather is when examining the back cover off the phone? It's not full-grain leather. It's not auto seat or furniture thick. I'm kind of surprised it sticks at all. It's not a Vertu Signature Touch, that's for sure.
What Motorola did right in comparison with the Moto X was to not expose the leather at the corners of the phone. I was skeptical of LG going with a leather back from the G4 announcement (or leak) since Motorola was using a higher quality leather and I pretty much knew the exposed corners relegated the G4 leather to a show cover rather than a daily. My leather travel wallet told me all I needed to know about corner wear.
The black stamped pebble grain back will fare a little bit better, but probably not by too much.
Hi everybody!
I thought it would be helpful to create a thread where we can share experiences on cases for our P9 Lite.
So feel free to post any experience you made with bought cases
Or... you know... just browse the thread if you seek advice on what to buy and what is worth your money.
To start things off, I received my brand new P9 Lite case from Case-Mate today.
Link: http://www.case-mate.co.uk/case-mate-barely-there-case-for-huawei-p9-lite-in-black.html
(looks a bit cheap on the pics in my opinion because the colors of phone and case do not match. Looks awesome on a black phone though!)
I have a black P9 Lite and ordered a black case (also available transparent I think).
I have to say that this case is really nice! Everything fits like a glove, it is easy to apply to the phone and sits tight.
No rough edges whatsoever. The material is slightly rubbery but not too much so it still can be easily taken out of your pocket.
Power button and Volume buttons are not covered by the case and can be reached just fine. Also the fingerprint sensor is easily accesible.
As it states on the website, the bezel is slightly higher that the screen region which means you can put your phone on the screen without it being scratched (which is awesome )
Overall, it's a nice case that adds nicely to the grip on the P9 Lite. However, as the name already suggests it's a "Barely There" case which means it does not provide full protection. The top and the bottom of the phone are uncovered (only the bezel on the bottom is covered and protected against drops).
Definitely gets a recommendation for the relatively affordable price.

My case looks almost identical to the Case Mate one shown in the first post, with the same rubbery coating. There are just minor differences:
It doesn't have a case-mate logo printed on it
It cost £0.93 instead of £14.99
It has a seam line in the rubber coating running around the edges of it (see photos in link below)

Delivery direct from China is free, and it took about two weeks to arrive in the UK. I think they offer free delivery to almost everywhere in the world. The price varies by a few pence every day due to exchange rates.

The side pieces are perfectly aligned, no issues here. They must have fixed it.
Well, I have now gotten 2 replacements and each one has been too small to cover the sides of the Z Force. I am going to request a refund.
Good idea. I ordered a wood skin if that changes anything...

That they don't. Dbrand usually prioritizes fit before adding extra fluff. If the side pieces aren't supplied, it's usually because they thought it would be too much trouble for users.
Slickwraps just goes for volume.
does the wrap (dbrand or slickwraps) help with how slipper the phone is? I want to use the phone without even the style mod.

For some reason, mostly sales, i keep ordering Slickwrap skins and I highly don't recommend them.
The last one I ordered, marble, looked plain bad, nothing like the photo on the site. Same thing with the gold flake, thing was actually kind of metallic. Odd for a wood skin but...
Bought one for the G3 and it's fit was uncomfortable, not to mention the mahogany wood grain was not as realistic as the exoskin I was used to or dbrand.
Plus when I ordered my black marble skin my wife order a few for he v20. It took 20 days to arrive.
Not a fan at all.

I usually go for dbrand all the way. Tried slickwraps just out of curiosity... Ended up tearing the sucker off because it interfered with my moto mods. Took them 1 month to respond to my RMA request...
I got a marble skin on special during their 30% sale for it... It's decent, but marble effect looks a little faded. Don't know how it compares to slickwraps.

I guess I should've taken a photo. I don't think anyone could tell the Slickwraps marble skin, I ordered the black, was supposed to be marble. There was no texture. It was like they printed a marble texture on plain vinyl. My only comparison, again since I'm a wood skin fanatic, is the dbrand concrete. That wasn't obvious as concrete, my wife thought it was supposed to be wood, but it was textured as you'd expect.
