You guys use 4GB RAM variant of Zenfone 2 I guess. Because it's CPU is only x64 and 2GB variant of zf2 has x86

It'd be extremely silly to keep it 32-bit by then, so let's be happy and not jinx this announcement with any concerns or high expectations.

Yep and either 4gb or 2gb version of ram is not x86 only or 32bit but x86_64 or 64bit. To make it short all variants of ZE551ML are 64bit capable.
Which is not Shantanu statement

Ark is just Intel's name for their product specs list, basically (http://ark.intel.com), not a chipset.
The Atoms in the Zenfone 2 are the Intel Atom Z3580 (4 GB RAM model) and the Intel Atom Z3560 (2GB model). Both are listed as 64-bit processors; the only appreciable difference between the two SOCs is their clock speed.
It should be noted that they do have a ram limit of 4gb, which might make you think it's 32-bit, but this is because the SOC only has two memory channels, and iirc LPDDR3 basically caps at 2gb/channel.

The reason is that XDA have incorrectly typed up 32 GB of RAM instead of 32 GB of ROM while stated ROM is 2 GB
Guys, if you look at the Nexus 10 landing page, you will see that it is incorrectly listed as that... hilarious but incorrect.
Can a mod change it please?

I don't know why you'd be upset if it did have 32GB of RAM. You could load the whole OS and all apps and data into RAM at boot and have a blazing fast system! Sure, boot and shutdown would be slow but I think the performance boost would be pretty significant.

Android is multiarch, but the ARMv7 chipset in Nexus 10 is 32-bit. Newer AArch64 (ARMv8) CPUs, due 2013, will be 64-bit.

Only if the device was shut down improperly. At low load times and during a proper shutdown it would dump any changes to non-volatile memory. There are plenty of operating systems that can function from RAM and maintain persistence.

What's the point of this thread? XDA is a global community. If each country had its own thread these forums will be very hard to navigate.

On 15th May the India's first fan based blog LGMobileIndia.in leaked the specs which was stating SD801, ealry this week from the Korean presentation we have found the similar specs. So there is no point to still expecting SD805. May be G Pro 3 will have it or G Flex 2.
Still with 5.5" QHD IPS LCD, 3GB RAM with Snapdragon 801 looks a giant killer.:good:

I am on the borderline, I love my G2 and i was so hoping G3 will be with SD805. Just the QHD screen is not enough for now.
Although i do not like Samsung much, but at 38.8k it is a bargain, specially with the 5k worth of coupon from Samsung. I will skip G3 and hold on to G2 i think and upgrade to G4 next year.

LG has released LG G2 D802T in India (after regular G2) which officially supports 4G LTE officially. Airtel has officially listed it in its 4G supported handset list.
I think they will release a single version G3 with LTE support this time.
Only thing I don't like is LG flagships headphone audio is quietest.

because reliance and airtel are using td lte mode @ 2300mhz as per soruces. Most phones dont support that frequency
edit: just saw the specs of g3 and it dosent have 2300mhz listed.

ya, they have to do that, internal storage has no connection whatsoever with the total ram, its just a marketing gimmick from lg.

Yes ... I don't care about internal as long as RAM remains same. But they decided to change RAM amount also. And I think 32GB version will face delay as the higher capacity devices gets launched pretty late. This was a bad move by LG.

This is L1 cache that matters to chess... not Ghz
Dear all,
Let me contribute to that topic with some more precision.
If you are looking for more Nodes per second, the decisive criteria is the L1 CACHE of the CPU. It plays much more on the outcome compared to the frequency. I am quite sure about that after trying this test on different Snapdragons.
Snapdragons have 16K data + 16K instruction cache. Therefore, even a Galaxy Note IV can barely reach 700K despite 2.65Ghz speed of the Snapdragon 805, while its Exynos brother boosts no less than 1400K.
You may recall the Exynos is octa-core. and SD805 is only 4 cores. If we are supposed to think that's the reason, come explain 730K made with the Exynos 4412 of Galaxy Note 2 which runs @ 1.6 x 4 cores.
Exynos CPU's have 32K+32K L1 cache! That's why they perform surprisingly better. But be careful with all this big.LITTLE thing which is extremely mind confusing. I did not test a note III or a Galaxy Tab with Exynos 4+4 cpu's. They all have low freq set of cores which, if used, could seriously reduce the speed. But i guess engines like Stockfish will force the hi-freq cores. In Note-III case, that means 1.9 Ghz x 4 cores.
The L1-cache effect is obvious on Apple CPU's which have 1.3Ghz x 4 cores but 64K cache. They perform easily around 1300K.
Finally, stay away from Snapdragons if you use Droidfish and check for octa cores, capable of working together at peak speed and insist on 32K+32K L1 cache minimum per core !!!
Alternatively Mediatek octa core CPU's have 8 cores working in parallel at speeds up to 2.0Ghz. They should give 1200 Knps. MTK6592 for example is a concrete low-cost potential. Give it a try if you can. Mediatek will soon release stronger CPU's but they will be big.LITTLE too, unfortunately...
All i say above applies to chess only. Real life usage, internet, movies, games, social media etc is totally a different world and Snapdragon 805 is a monster there! Qualcomm does not and should not focus on delivering the best chess CPU for mobiles., for us, freaks and they are right in what they are doing for mass users market.

Rumor: Huawei Mate 9 With Kirin 960 To Land Later This Year
Seems a bit too soon to me, but a lot of manufacturers seem to want to jump on the VR bandwagon, and I'd imagine Huawei wants in to, so they may want to get a higher speced phone with the latest chipset out quickly.
And after the words of the Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong very probably the future Mate 9 will have a 2k display for a better virtual reality experience.

I agree that the Mali T880MP4 GPU is good enough for normal use but not the top for extreme gaming, maybe the next Mate 9 GPU will fill (at least partially) the gap with the competitors.

I wanted to trade in my 4x, worth about CNY 300, for this 6x, but then I notice its with Kirin SoC. I think I should wait for a while to see.
Here is the official first look video of Honor 6x.

Its not gonna get its processor from outside while having its own processor. Forget buying it if this is your mindset.
For the average consumer the SOC is just a bunch of letters.
The consumers who do look for development are a restricted group.
It´s a good device, though. Too bad about development support.

I highly doubt so, HUAWEI using its own SoC to reduce costs, if go back to SD625/650, there would be a price spike...

No way. It will be using the same Kirin processor. The cost is similar to Honor 5X due to the usage of Kirin.

Qualcomm had an issue before of overpricing or some sort. Don't quite remember it.
