It is for sure metal frame. Clearly noticeable from pictures on TENNA. Makes sense also because one of the design comments many reviewers had made about the Honor 6 is that it had a plasticy frame that made is seem less premium, but me personally find it comfortable and ergonomic to hold than the metallic frame.

Mines on the way; it already got shipped to US and they received it (my cousin); hes bringing mine next week when he comes to Peru for holidays; bought it from oppomart (got a 3-4 day delay but got shipped and package received). Will review it once I physically get it.

May be not quite the first. A couple of us had them last week and already been busy unlocking and rooting them. But they are a great phone.

Ascend name is wiped not used anymore..
Don't know I think P8 Max is replacement of Mate 7 .. But maybe not as they introduced Kirin 940 and 950 still for this year ..

Are we getting the new EMUI 3.1 ? With camera app updates ? :'(

I'd like to have that camera in my Mate 7 ... though to be honest, the Mate 7's camera performs much better than I anticipated, and I'm usually very happy with the results.
The trouble with smartphones is, your new model will *always* be outdated a year after it's come on the market. There will *always* be something newer and better. The Mate 7 is still and will be for at least another year or two a strong performer.
Also ... 6.8" ... really? That's almost the size of the MediaPad X2, and that thing is a monster ... but then again, a couple years ago we thought 5" phones were monsters ...

For me the size of Mate7 it perfect.
6.8" it's to much. there must be a limit. or not? )

Prefere mate 7 size, its perfect. Be nice just to have something very similar later this year with just hardware upgrade.

I agree. The size of the HAM7 is almost the sweet spot for a phablet. Not too big, but big enough. A better HAM7 would just have better specs and materials. A more power efficient Processor and GPU. A bigger battery if they can squeeze it in. it would be cool if they can make an active version like Samsung. I don’t care if take out the scanner to do this. Good luck with Huawei to win new buyers!

Am drooling just thinking about this P8 Max as have been waiting for eternity for this screen size. There was rumour of chinese one last year (Hisense) but it was never launched, so waiting eagerly for this. A Z-ultra user.

The camera did get a lot of "****" in reviews of Mate 7, but that was because the camera was simply 1 year behind the competition, but it means also that the camera performs as the top end of phones one year ago... Samsung with its s6 is probably one year behind all other phones on the market now.

Honor 6X is gonna launch Soon. Get ready for it guys...

Huawei Honor has now officially confirmed that it will launch its Honor 6X smartphone on October 18th. The company has begun sending out invitations for the launch event in China.
The Honor 6X phone is expected to have the following specs:
1. 3GB of RAM just like the 5X
2. 5.5-inch 1080p display
3. 32GB of internal storage
4. Kirin 650 processor
5. Rear fingerprint scanner
6. USB Type-C port
7. Dual-SIM support with Dual Standby (Hybrid SIM Slot)
8. Dual Camera
9. 13MP Rear Camera
10. 5MP Selfie Camera
11. 3270mAH Battery
These hardware specifications may not be the same during the launch, but the handset is getting up to be another appealing mid-ranger.
The Honor 6X is expected to retail for around the same price as the 5X, which launched for $200 / £135 / Rs.12,999 last year.
Another variant for 4GB RAM and 64 GB internal will also be released it seems.
All the exact details will be known on October 18th during its Launch event at China.

I don't see any huge difference between a single tone and dual tone flash

Kirin 650 is the cpu of p9 lite and honor 5c.Doesnt seem to be worth upgrading from honor 6,I have done side to side p9 lite vs our honor 6 both on emui 4 and the only difference is that p9 lite opens the apps just a little faster.
I expected something with kirin 9xx series cpu but meh...at least its cheap

Me too... My hand feels good with 5.2 inches. 5.5 is little difficult. Even my pant pockets feel difficult to hold it.
The size of Honor 7 and 8 is 5.2 inch which suits perfectly in my hand. But 5X won't.
Especially while accessing apps from the top left corner

5" for small hands, 5.5" for big hands (like google did with pixel) with no hardware compromises. That'll be perfect

Plus, the Kirin 960 isn't much faster as well (for non-gamers that is as the GPU-side however is massively quicker (but current games run just fine on the 950 as well, imho)) and pretty expensive so will hold onto the Mate 8 for the time being :good:

it is all about the price about this one, I am also disspointed with the camerabump and camera modul, it looks not very stylish and not up to huawies recent standards.
I am a gamer so for personally k960 is very much neeeded. The picture abouve I still see black borders against the screen this is disappointing, I think otherwise Nubia Z9 has done very good with this and I wish all other manufactures would do the same to create borderless screen

The leaks seem to be getting confirmed (or thrown out) as the 4th approaches. On a Note 4 (but running Note 7 softwate) and have a ROM'd MediaPad X2 (which was a PITA to update) . So I like rooted Huawei devices with new ROMs so looking at 3 very different devices:
In the spirit of the thread, my first pick
- Mate 9 mostly for the great devs here. Nougat would be a bonus, and hopefully chainfires work can be brought over. Not global (or including 4g then off the list.
- LeEco LePro 3 with flash rebate it is absurdly affordable and reasonably reviewed as a whole. Only 5.5 is a real deal thinker. 5.9 on the Mate much better by leaps and jumps ahead.
- Lenovo Phab Pro 2 out (for ordering) now, but holding for the Huawei intro press conference on the 4th. Bigger (like the 6.4), much less performance wise.

Two sensors (20MP+12MP) 4K video + OIS, new CPU, new GPU, Android 7.0, IR blaster, USB Type-C. Good update over Mate 8.
"Porsche Design" will be not for everyone. Especially design quite like Samsung - front main button ... and price of course.

Won't complain though. The light filter is the only thing I miss (no root). Let's hope we will get it too.

How do you have your 6p set up? ... I wanted to put on the 7.1 Pure Nexus but I'm not really wanting to do a fresh reset on my phone.

Yes, can't wait to see the Mate 9! The Pixel xl is under specs and over priced for me. I'm on Nitrogen OS N 7.1 after a clean install & all is good!
I revisit family in akron every few years, but only in the summer!

Yeah, that's how I feel about the Pixel, but it being a new phone I'm like "man, I want a new phone" haha. This 6p has me loving Huawei. Best phone I've ever had ... I may try the 7.1 Pure Nexus tonight and just bite the bullet of a clean install.

Lumia 535 with 5:20 Hours SOT
and Lumia 640Xl LTE edition With 9:15 to 11 Hours SOT
ofcourse lumia 535 continues web browsing i get this Sot

what about mate 8 is really good and have a good battery life ?

He have only one problem, unlock bootloader is not easy and you and you will have to pay 4 € / $...Unless you do not want to do it, but you will have some Chinese content, otherwise, mate 8 is the only phone which never heats, but then really never, the games on, turn much better than on an s7 edge (or any other android phone except the mate 9 ^ ^ and maybe iphones)
And with this, the battery is crazy, i have 264 user apps and have no lag...crazy...and i have try Emui 5.0, it's more good than 4.1, but i want root to restore my data so i stay on emui 4.1 (Kangvip 368 is the best for me)

Dude, you'll only gonna find mate 8 fans here. The choice, ultimately is yours. Look at phone specs/cost/performance and you'll know which phone to go for.
