1. I need dual-SIM since I travel abroad very often.
2. I would like to read PDFs and watch movies when I'm in a train and 7" fits the requirement very well.
3. Keep minimum devices on the way.
4. Don't want to keep a phone in hands when talking.
So my mate 7 will go to my wife, though she has honor 6
And now I can put my kindle DX into my home museum

I wanted to buy the x1 but chamgrd my mind and bought the HAM7. Then i heard that the x2 will come out. Its smaller than the x1 but still has the same screen size. Wow!!!! Its like a HAM7 big brother -fingerprint scanner. I just hope it had the tap to wake up feature.

Yeah! Too bad they didnt review the x1 on android authority. Thats where i saw the review of HAM7. It was nice and not boring to watch. Wish they would review the x2 there this time. Its a real head turner for me. Better than the ipad mini cuz you can make a call and msm.

it is too big... mostly too wide... 1 centimer more wide 3 centimeter higher....

Ascend name is wiped not used anymore..
Don't know I think P8 Max is replacement of Mate 7 .. But maybe not as they introduced Kirin 940 and 950 still for this year ..

Are we getting the new EMUI 3.1 ? With camera app updates ? :'(

I'd like to have that camera in my Mate 7 ... though to be honest, the Mate 7's camera performs much better than I anticipated, and I'm usually very happy with the results.
The trouble with smartphones is, your new model will *always* be outdated a year after it's come on the market. There will *always* be something newer and better. The Mate 7 is still and will be for at least another year or two a strong performer.
Also ... 6.8" ... really? That's almost the size of the MediaPad X2, and that thing is a monster ... but then again, a couple years ago we thought 5" phones were monsters ...

For me the size of Mate7 it perfect.

Prefere mate 7 size, its perfect. Be nice just to have something very similar later this year with just hardware upgrade.

I agree. The size of the HAM7 is almost the sweet spot for a phablet. Not too big, but big enough. A better HAM7 would just have better specs and materials. A more power efficient Processor and GPU. A bigger battery if they can squeeze it in. it would be cool if they can make an active version like Samsung. I don’t care if take out the scanner to do this. Good luck with Huawei to win new buyers!

Am drooling just thinking about this P8 Max as have been waiting for eternity for this screen size. There was rumour of chinese one last year (Hisense) but it was never launched, so waiting eagerly for this. A Z-ultra user.

The camera did get a lot of "****" in reviews of Mate 7, but that was because the camera was simply 1 year behind the competition, but it means also that the camera performs as the top end of phones one year ago... Samsung with its s6 is probably one year behind all other phones on the market now.

Honor 8 vs HTC 10

I'm coming up on an upgrade and the Honor 8 is an impressive phone, especially for the price point! But a few people said that the honor 8 like the new pixel phones probably wouldn't receive the dev support that others have... unlocked bootloaders and rooting are very important to me, I like full control. This is why I can't go w/ an Iphone!

Honor 8 loads apps faster? And according to gsmarena the camera seems to perform better in many circumstances

Honor 8 has flash for front camera and FM radio whereas HTC 10 has better screen resolution and DLNA support.
Honor 8 is at different Pricepoint, HTC 10 is in different price point. So this is unnecessary comparison I would say.

HTC 10 does have flas for front facing camera to, its just a gimmick that the screen turns bright white before taking the picture just like the Honor 8 does there is no actual flash or led or anything alike in the honor 8 front facing

Dev support for Honor 8 is an epic scam of XDA and Huaweii in conjunction. Sold mine. Bad quality build(glass too easily scratched),bad sound,below acceptable screen for my taste. Run with HTC 10 if u can afford it.

You're right about everything here, the partnership isn't taking effect yet, and it's almost 2 months

My mate 10 standard version 6gb/128gb arrived...!!

It looks great! Screen is so nice. Now for battery test which is what I really want to know! Touch sensitivity much improved. Something that was never fixed on the 9 properly

Postage was 20 us dollars. DHL express. Impressed with their service. Look on their site and you'll see
Customs charge was £4 lol. I was happy to pay that but Wonda mobile said nope! They refunded me it! Their prices include customs charges. Excellent

Customs/taxes is what usually stops me from buying electronics outside of the EU... Unless you buy stuff from AliExpress of course, then everything has a $10 max value. lol

Focuses really well. Keeps your face in focus no matter what you put in front of you as I was trying to get it to focus on the objects in in front of my face

So is the Mate 10 long and skinny like the Samsung S8? I really dislike that trend.

Mate 10 is normal and 16.9 ratio, yeah that long skinny trend is useless, looks good but crops everything
