[Guide/Workaround] Xposed on Stock v21a - G3 General

Edit: This is obsolete now!
The official xposed-v78-sdk21-arm.zip fixes any issues with v21a. So go to the official thread, download, flash and it just works:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
The user androphone on Android-Hilfe has figured out how to install Xposed on v21a:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/thema/xposed-laeuft-auf-der-stock-v21a.733310/ (use google translate)
Quick translate (TRY IT OWN AT YOUR OWN RISK!)
0. As always make an BACKUP (important!)
1. Deactivate „LGSmartCover“! (freeze with Titanium Backup!) otherwise you'll get a bootloop.
2. Get the inofficial „xposed-v75-sdk21-arm-arter97-snapdragon“ made for Samsung devices!
3. Flash it in your recovery. → Be carefull - the first reboot will take really long (at least 5 minutes)
4. After it successfully rebooted install „XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4“ and after that your modules as usual
I'm using „G3 TweaksBox“, „True Silent Mode“ and „GravityBox (LP)“ without any issues (on v21a)
If you get an error message, that you can't close - note the name of the app, remove your battery, reboot into recovery, reflash your backup, reboot your system and freeze the noted app the same as „LGSmartCover“! and restart with step 1.
All credits go the original author (androphone)

Can confirm it's working great here, nice find!

confirm its work!
you need freeze also "weatherplatform" & "weather" in titaniumbackup for not getting error message .. ty

Many thanks. I didn't upgrade yet because of the xposed problem.. Now I can!
Will update later if it worked

The workaround works but each boot Android updates. Do you also have this problem? Something wrong.

[WARNING] Xposed Feedback on stock 5.0.2 [POSSIBLE FIX FOUND]

I make this thread in order to help nailing down the problems with Xposed and new stock Sony Lollipop.
As everybody knows, Xposed is out in alpha for LP (5.0.2)
Some testing on Sony based stock roms reported that it will mostly brick your rom, forcing you to clear ART-cache every time you want to boot the phone.
If you won't clear the cache, the phone simply bootloops.
This happens only on SOME situations, on some other works.
Once you bricked the ROM, removing Xposed doesn't seem to help, you will have to wipe clean and reflash everything.
So be careful while testing Xposed.
You can post here your results or suggestions regarding this serious issue.
Any kind of log about the problem is appreciated.
EDIT: POSSIBLE FIX FOUND
** As always... TAKE A BACKUP FIRST! **

I uninstalled a lot of (apparently) unuseful stuff, and my phone is now rebooting all ok.
Try uninstalling all google stuff except for store and framework (you can reinstall everything later from store)
Then remove some of the stuff you don't really need from the list here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/wip-debloat-lp-690-correct-functioning-t3076161
Hope it helps.

I heard of problems even if rom is deodexed in the z3 section...
Anyway, since no deodex is already out for Z1, we can't test it.
Here is Z3 thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/development/lp-mini-deodex-t3076490. When CE1 will be available I'll do some tests and prepare deodex.
C6906 on stock FTF clean flash of 5.0.2.
Xposed worked fine for me, up until I flashed the "5.0.2. Memory Leak Fix" found on the repo in the Xposed app. Boot loop after enabling this and rebooting. Cleared both caches, got all the way until "starting applications" after it counted up the list of installed apps, then froze, and rebooted. Repeated the process forever. Could never get into a stable working environment to disable that hook.
Tried to remove the conf files in data/data/xposed/conf, but no luck.
Had to FTF Flash again, which I'm waiting on booting right now, to see if that fixed it.

Same here. Tried in the same manner.
If someone is able to deodex the rom, I can provide the full system dump.
Before flashing the xposed framework i advise you guys to make a backup (recovery) of your system. This way if anything bad happen, just restore your system and you're good to go.
Sent from the future.
I suggest not to install xposed.......I bricked my z1 3 times.......now it's ok without xposed, maybe it's better if we wait for a more stable version for lollipop

This seems to suggest to me that deodexing won't be a guaranteed fix:
https://github.com/rovo89/Xposed/issues/31#issuecomment-91374076
The good news is, rovo89 is aware of the issue. I can't tell if he got the logs he needed though.

Been running Xposed all day with Gravitybox Module & Unicon. Tried lots of modules and rebooted lots of times. No bootloop issue. May I ask, are they using the latest version of Xposed? And how did the install Xposed? These Qs may lead to answers.
I am using the latest version both flashable zip files and apk. And I installed the apk first after first boot and the did a restore using TB then flashed the files on the flashable zip. I don't recommend installing mods before first boot.
I'm on a C6903 and using prerooted HK flashable zip with dual Recovery.

How and where do we check the version? Also, would it work in India?
Just flash Latest Recovery from [NUT]

Maybe it works with older version too, but im only tested it with 2.8.21.
I guess it woks for India too.
It's ok to use this for example, on a phone with a differente CDA?
I did everything as instructed and it got me into a bootloop...

Try my version, it seems to work according to others (I sttil didn't have time to test it):
Are you sure you used the latest supersu? Yours is much smaller than mine.
D5503_14.6.A.0.368_Customized_DE_prerooted.zip
I guess its a problem with latest PRFCreator (1.0). Witch Version of PRFCreator did you use?
Also i left the fota-reset.ta and custom-reset.ta but i think its not the reason for the smaler size.
Download the installer version of the dual recovery 2.8.21 and just reinstall the revovery with the phone running. This should work for regaining full root.
Best, maris

[Stock][PreRooted][D5503] 14.6.A.0.368 Customized CE1 (Lolipop 5.1.1)

ROM downloaded with XperiFirm and pre-rooted with PRFCreator.
CDA (customization version): 1280-7864 (Customized CE1)
It contains SuperSU 2.46 and LockedDualRecovery 2.8.21 (it will overwrite your current recovery).
You need to be on any rooted ROM already with custom recovery to flash a .zip file with this firmware!
You don't loose any data (but make your backup before upgrading), you keep root, you update your firmware to the newest Lolipop 5.1.1 build .368.

Notes:
Do a factory reset if you've got "Android OS/System" as a number one battery eater.
Hi Davka , I will taste it right now , any wipes at all to do please ????
Cache and Dalvik cache for sure. I'm not sure about system, I did system wipe but probably by mistake I have also checked data so I have ended with factory reset state - but everything important was backed up on SD
Hey !
Worked fine for me (with both dalvik and cache wipe obsiously).
But a major problem remains : when I launch xposed, it says that the framework is not installed and I need to flash it with the zip from xda.
I get the right zip (v74 sdk22 arm) but when I flash it, it boot properly, optimise the apps, shows the launcher for about 1 second and then the screen goes and stays black....
Help ? Please ? :'(
Edit : okay, found the solution ! (uninstall xperia xposed). But now I can't get rid of the bloatware with titanium backup as I used to do ><
installing Xposed?
I do not work and tested some versions.
Xposed working fine for me. Flashed zip via recovery. No issues so far.

Is it possible to install this as secondary rom using multirom
Thank you for your work!!
Everything works like a charm.
i guess its bc the stock kernel is running in enforcement mode. try to set it to permissive via init script
Installed , all running perfect , thanks !!!!!
Do a factory reset if you've got "Android OS/System" as a number one battery eater.
I've got this problem and factory reset solved it (and that 's not so trivial because I've cleared all partitions just after update)

[Stock][Z2(D6503) 6.0.1 Marshmallow][.570][Prerooted+ TWRP + Xposed][LB]

Hello Friends,
today I'd like to show you how to upgrade your Z2 (D6503) w/ locked Bootloader to the latest 6.0.1 Marshmallow STOCK + TWRP + (optional)Xposed Framework.
First of all I'd like to thank those people for their work:
@adop40 for the overall idea
@serajr for making the Marshmallow TWRP that works with locked Bootloader
@Victor91rus for uploading the .570 firmware I used to make the flashable .zip
@ravdo & @niaboc79 for the Bootloop Fix Guide & Bootloopfix.zip
Checklist for the things you need1. A Z2 phone running the latest Lollipop STOCK + Root + Busybox+ [NUT]'s Dual Recovery (If you don't have root, search for kingroot and root your device, after that install [NUT]'s Dual Recovery)
2. Download Bootloop Fix from HERE
3. Download my Marshmallow Package with the required files here: DOWNLOAD [MEGA] OR if you wanna use your own flashable rom just download the files without rom here: DOWNLOAD [MEGA]
4. Make a backup of your device
5. Install latest adb drivers and enable USB Debugging + Unknown Sources
6. IF you have Xposed Framework installed on Lollipop download the uninstaller from HERE
choose xposed-uninstaller-********-arm.zip
Installing Guide using Sonys Official ROM (Easy and Safe Version)1. Extract the zip files (flashable.zip, byeselinux_flashable.zip, RICDefeat.zip) from the marshmallow.zip + BOOTLOOP FIX.zip onto your SD Card and copy the Recovery Folder (Z2_MM_TWRP) to your Desktop + IF you have the Xposed Framework installed copy the xposed-uninstaller-********-arm.zip also to your SD card
2. Boot your phone into Recovery Mode DO A FACTORY RESET FIRST(Optional: You can TRY to keep your apps + data and just DO NO FACTORY RESET AT ALL which maybe works(for me it did) but create a backup first) and THEN flash the zip files in this order: (xposed-uninstaller-********-arm.zip) => flashable.zip => byeselinux_flashable.zip => RICDefeat.zip => BOOTLOOP FIX.zip
3. Wipe Cache & Dalvik and REBOOT
3.1. Flash the kernel only using flashtool using the ftf (exclude everything except Kernel) and then boot (First boot may take a while because we cleaned the Dalvik-Cache)
4. After the reboot INSTALL BUSYBOX(Open App and hit Install) and then connect your phone to the PC and run the install.bat from the Z2_MM_Recovery folder (Accept any prompt popping up on your phone)
5. Phone will reboot into recovery when successfull, then you're done
6. Enjoy
Installing Guide using a different ROM (Try at your own risk/confirmed working ROMs at Threadbottom)1. Extract the zip files (BETA-SuperSU-v2.68.zip, byeselinux_flashable.zip, RICDefeat.zip) from the "marshmallow without ROM.zip" + BOOTLOOP FIX.zip onto your SD Card, copy your "customROM.zip" onto your SD card and copy the Recovery Folder (Z2_MM_TWRP) to your Desktop + IF you have the Xposed Framework installed copy the xposed-uninstaller-********-arm.zip also to your SD card
2. Boot your phone into Recovery Mode DO A FACTORY RESET FIRST(Optional: You can TRY to keep your apps + data and just DO NO FACTORY RESET AT ALL which maybe works(for me it did) but create a backup first) and THEN flash the zip files in this order: (xposed-uninstaller-********-arm.zip) => customROM.zip => BETA-SuperSU-v2.68.zip => byeselinux_flashable.zip => RICDefeat.zip => BOOTLOOP FIX.zip
5. Phone will reboot into recovery when successfull then you're done
(optional) Xposed Framework for MarshmallowIf you wanna use Xposed Framework on Marshmallow you need to do two more extra things:
Prerequisites:
Z2 with working Marshmallow + Root + TWRP INSTALLED
XposedInstaller.apk You can find it HERE
XposedFramework.zip You can find it HERE (Download the LATEST one)
How to install:
1. Install the XposedInstaller.apk
2. Reboot into TWRP and flash the XposedFramework.zip
3. Wipe Cache & Dalvik and Reboot
4. Enjoy
Confirmed working custom ROMs[ROM]Marshmallow_Stock_570_ROM_Ultraslim (Full deodxed)
If you have any questions or find MISTAKES just message me I'll try to keep the thread updated :good:
Don't forget to flash the bootloopfix.zip or you'll have a bad time!!!
Downloading.....i can't wait to test

ive got backup, however i did find only one tft and its link was dead. i also tried to make own but then flashtool didint give options to exclude anything from flashing.
I have the same bootloop problem. The fix didn't work for me. Any other ideas? Or does it matter which MM ftf I use?

[UPDATE] Update newest Oxygen OS Version with TWRP Recovery ! | by Haris Khawaja

Hey guys!!!
Today I got a new Update for my OnePlus 3T. But you can't install it with your custom recovery, becouse oneplus doesn't support third party recoverys. (Without lose any data)
So today I would like to explain to you how you can install the update anyway.
Edit: If you don't have the update avarible to download, here is the current Version ONLY for the OnePlus 3T and not for 3!
Link : https://mega.nz/#!RwxjAaSa!csp25h49dQZmZZ4Yehq1ZfXWJHRoDgS-3RnBA-MgXyA
Step 1: Go to your Softwareupdates and click on download Softwareupdate.
Step 2: If the download is completed, don't click on reboot and install!
Step 3: Go in your (for e.g.) ES File Manager and search for "ota". You'll find the .zip file. Copy that to your main Storage (sdcard) directory.
Step 4: After that, reboot into your recovery (at my point, twrp)
IF YOU WANT DO NOW A BACKUP -> SYSTEM, DATA AND BOOT
Step 5: Click on Wipe and select only dalvic and cache. (It'll not delete your data if you select only dalvic and cache!)
Step 6: Now go on install and select the Oxygen OS Version, that you copied to your storage. (Swipe to install)
Step 7: The installation takes a while. If it finished, click on back and wipe dalvic and cache again.
Step 8: After it, you can go back and reboot into your system. It should update now your apps.
Step 9: Finally you got successfully the newest oxygen OS version!
-> If your device was rooted, root access will no longer be available.
Edit: If you want to get root access after updating your phone, download SuperSu.zip (download : https://mega.nz/#!gsBCACAQ!L5t_0Ca6-Lyf-_xRpF9Bw2jzo-xj3W5Dr5X1Y8EsVoY )
Step 1: Boot into your recovery, click on Advanced -> Adbsideload and Swipe to activate it)
Step 2: Connect you device with your computer and check, if your device is successfully conntected to adb devices.
Step 3: Type "adb sideload SuperSU.zip, after the installation, reboot your system.
Step 4: Finished installing root. Have fun
If you have any questions, don't be shy.
Best regards and have fun,

okay, i'll give it a try. had to go back to 3.5.4 as supersu (2.79) gave me a bootloop with the latest 4.0 update :/
Updater process ended with error 7
Hello,
Thank you very much for the detailed steps. However, I am getting stuck at installing the OTA and get error 7 on TWRP.
I tried to fix it by following the below link but it did not work:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2522762
Any help or suggestions?
P.S: I am trying to update from 3.5.4 to 4.0 OOS.
I updated my TWRP to 3.0.3 and now can't get TWRP to decrypt, it did not ask me for any pin / password on 3.0.2 TWRP.... Is it safe to revert back to 3.0.2 and flash the 4.1 OTA with it?

Yesterday I got my 3T and upgraded OTA latest OxygenOS 4.0.1. I was able to unlock bootloader and install TWRP 3.0.3 but when I access bootloader the first screen ask me to provide "Decrypt password" to mount, and if I ignore and slide to start modification I don't have access to internal card (assume its READ-ONLY), just folders are visible but unable to find or install SU package.
I check all the forums but didn't find any relevant information how to get out of TWRP "Decrypt password" issue. I don't want my phone to be encrypted, so I would appreciate if anyone can please help me.
