I dropped my phone and the screen now doesnt respond properly: The hardware DID successfully upgrade to the XDA ROM. But touching it causes the backlight to go on, - but most of the keys dont do what one would expect them to do: The phone turns on with a reminder from the calendar on the screen which wont DISMISS or CLOSE. Pressing on the windows logo and then on the phone key causes the calendar to come up and I am not sure which numbers are entered when I do manage to get the phone to come onto the screen (none of the right hand numbers seem to work at all). Does anyone recognise these symptoms and/or could they just show that my SX-56 needs the ROM RE-flashing? I should add that pressing the Master Reset button with this ROM in place seems to make the phone shut off and then when you restart it, all of the data remains in place. I wonder if there is any possibility that the XDA ROM has prevented the reset button from working normally?
A user on another forum said that to him, '"Sounds like the digitiser is up the swanee - have you tried recalibrating it?"
10-12 vertical black lines started appearing to the right hand edge of the screen. Sometimes they are there, sometimes not. THere is usually at last one there somewhere. At about that time the screen stopped responding as I mention. Today the left third started displaying the same veritcal lines, though spaced quite far apart (about a millimetre). Screen doesn't APPEAR cracked: Does this sound like a digitiser and if so, how do you recalibrate it please or is there a link to somewhere on the XDA site which I cant find which might tell me? Or could it be the cable is loose in the circuit board? As you touch the lower right hand corner of the metal casing where the vertical lines are, those lines flash (the right 10 or 12) on and off. And every coloured bar everywhere on the screen or word of text has vertical lines on it (the white parts don't)??
Someone on ebay has said that his phone "fell from my pocket and onto the carpet and the screen cracked, I then used it for about a week" "I sold the screen to someone cause the wanted the touch pad part of the screen for there phone". and wonder what it was he sold or which part can be replaced on it? IS there a touch part and a screen part on this phone?
To be honest, itsounds like you have brocken a connection somewhere between the LCD and the gfx output, probably not possible to repair yourself.
I wonder where the break would be?
I thought that might be the case: I wonder if it would be worthwhile trying to get another screen?
I should probably try to take the unit apart and see if some break somewhere can be identified if it is a break as opposed to some electonic part having failed. It SEEMS to be in the lower right hand corner?
Hi everybody,
I have HTC Magic phone, but the touching area nears the edge of screen is not sensitive as much as the center area. About 2mm offset from the display egde (both left and right) of TFT LCD below.
For example, you can test it yourself by opening vitural keyboard, and touch it.
These letters at the edge like Q, P, Del are hard to touch correctly than others. Seem this area is not sensitive.
Solution now is using finger to swipe out when touching these letters.
Anybody can see that ?
/sorry for my spelling in tilte : edge
No any Idea ?
The Very Edge is not as good, however at 2mm in it works just fine,

I guess that's what you call a design flaw in the screens being used in these devices. Same on the Hero and Dream. They all use the same screen.
Thanks for your answers.
My friend confirmed his Magic 32A should be the same.
Hi,
I just want to thank everyone on this site for the plethora of information that is available.
Here is a rather strange issue, that I did not see covered previously...
I purchased a used aria with a cracked digitizer off ebay for pretty cheap. I replaced the digitizer myself and all was good. I used the phone for about a week and dropped it. After that, the digitizer has been acting a bit flaky.
For instance, when it decides that it wants to annoy me, every input seems to register only on the middle of the screen. For instance, if I touch the top of the screen, the screen registers touches as though I was touching the screen in middle of the height. If I touch the bottom, it still registers the touch in the center of the screen.
I found that If I knock the phone against a table, along the edge, the problem goes away for a while. Then it crops up, again, randomly.
Anyone have this issue?
Thanks,
JC
I am having trouble with the touch input on an AT&T Galaxy S4 i337 LCD. The phone had minor water damage and the LCD was struggling to turn on all the way. After soaking the LCD assembly in an ultrasonic cleaner for 15 minutes the screen fully loaded and displayed correctly.
However all but the top quarter inch of the screen is recognizing touch input. I have tried the LCD with a known working motherboard and get the same result. When I go into the test mode by pressing *#0*# every part of the screen responds correctly, except the very top portion. When I swipe across the top the line is drawn 1/4" down.
Link to a screenshot of the test.
Otherwise the screen works wonderfully, displays correctly (including the top 1/4"), dims correctly, and accepts touch input everywhere else.
I tried running it through another ultrasonic bath, but I am still having the same problem.
I also flashed the same stock ROM it was already on in Odin. I337UCUAMDL_I337ATTAMDL_I337UCUAMDL_HOME.tar
Does anyone know what could be the cause of the digitizer not recognizing just the very top portion of the screen? It is like the phone has just a slightly shorter resolution according to the digitizer.
Hello,
i have Dasaita PX6 7" without hardware buttons and some time ago the touchscreen started to do strange things like i'm driving and i hear the media makes *bop* sound as if i've touched the power touch-button and the screen goes off or it launches a program as if i've touched the screen over where it's icon is.
Now it seems it stopped doing all this but a portion of the screen is just not working, not responding to touch.
The pic of the unit is from the web but mine is the same. I did the color rectangular areas tho to show and say - the green area is responding to touch, the red area is not responding
I write for over a week to Dasaita on Aliexpress where i bought the unit for solution or for new screen - they just read, no answer. I also write to their FB page - no answer.
Because the portion of screen which is not active i can't drag and drop icons from other screens to main screen - i have mouse, but i cant select and drag. Any suggestions?
And please tell me if i can fix this touchscreen (maybe it delaminated somewhere and its not making contact) or where i can get new (because of high chance to ruin this when trying to fix it).
Thank you
Have you ever recalibrated the touch screen?
I donĀ“t know how it works on yours, but for a couple of units it works like all 5 fingers touch at the same time and hold it until you get a marker on the upper left screen.
Touch it as exact as possible and do that for all corners as you get the touch point visible.
For the buttons on the left side you should have a setup in the settings menu.
Hi, i watched videos about the 5 fingers touch but it doesnt activate on mine.
I entered the factory menu /with the 126 password/ where are similar functions and tried them several times just to be sure - no change.
The buttons on the left side are part of the touchscreen even tho they are on the black stripe, its jsut painted, it dosn't matter.

In this case you should get in contact with Dasaita and/or the seller.
May be there is an issue with the controller or firmware.
