Which X do I have for Cyanogenmod? - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I bought a Moto X way back when Motorola had just been bought by Google. It is the developer's edition and **I think** it is XT1053.
I haven't used it for a long time and I'd like to put CyanogenMod on it. I checked the Cy-mod website and they have a listing for the XT1053 but it is showing as T-Mobile and the Developers edition as an XT1060
So, could someone please guide me to the Cy-mod version that I need?
Thanks

Look in your settings->about-> hardware SKU and it'll say which moto x you have. After that just Google mod number and cyanogenmod

Is this the second X or the third X? It seems to me like it is the second X.

XT 1053 and 1060 are both first gen, but there isn't a 61 as far as I know
Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk

flash the XT1053 one on cyanogens site... it may have been considered as a developer edition when it was not released yet to t-mobile
Moto X 2013 (T-Mobile)

My 1st gen X is a 1060 VZW :bootloader unlocked thru sending $40 to china: anyways this the one I've been using https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=ghost also your model # should be printed on the back cover.... mine is anyways

Thanks, but no hardware SKU option and it just says "Moto X" a search online tells me it is first-gen, but still no closer to finding the XT-number.
The only thing printed on the back is "DEVELOPER EDITION" not yelling, it is in all caps.
I'd rather not be hasty and install the wrong Cy-mod version and brick it, as it is currently being used a TV remote.
The "System Version" does state "ghost" in it.
213.44.1.ghost_row.retail.en.US
Does that "ghost" relate to the same thing in the Cy-mod version or just a coincidence that they also have "ghost" in the download title?

reboot it into bootloader, it'll say in there.

Ghost is the "code" name for the 1st gen X just like Clark is for the 3rd gen X
I'm just going to say make a back up and get your flash on..... ?

Update to Touchless Control, March 5th(and March 12th)

I just received an update to Touchless Control.
The version is now 4.3.10.1
What's New
- Enhanced end-of-speech detection for improved accuracy and faster responses
- New ""What's Up"" / ""Read Notifications"" voice command that reads out new notifications so you never miss a thing
- ""What's Up"" / ""Read Notifications"" fully launched for U.S. English, Spanish, and Italian and in beta for other languages / regions.
- Compatible only with Android 4.4 KitKat
- Bug fixes
I had to toggle Touchless Control off and then back on to have it work after the update.
Update - March 12th - new version 4.3.11.1 (seems to just be bug fixes)
Wow, I'm impressed!

This update is so awesome
This is a nice update, but here is hoping it is just the beginning. Why not add all kinds of stuff to it, such as being able to ask it the status of wifi, then turn it on or off. Google technically supports the feature, it just needs to be enabled in the phone.
With enough engineering effort the possibilities of Touchless Control and Active Notifications are near endless and could be one heck of a Motorola exclusive feature.
Pretty damn cool but looks like it doesn't work well with 3rd party texting apps.
For example, I'm using Hello SMS and instead of saying the sender's name, it says, "You have received a notification from Hello" and then the message.
---------- Post added at 05:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:31 PM ----------
It's a lot faster though. Wow!
Took advantage of the new version on the drive home today. I don't use driving assist mode so the read notifications feature really rocks. It had no problems reading out the subject of an email I received, it read both text messages and a gchat I received. All while sitting in the holster clipped to my hip.
Just downloaded the update, very cool

What I like about the Moto X is that many of its key features (Active Display, Touchless Controls) are actually apps that can be updated independently of the ROM itself. And Google itself, with Maps, Hangouts, Chrome, Calendar, GMail, etc.... all of those are now just apps that have their own update schedule.
I know not being on the latest OS can be pain for other phones, but can we all agree that we're in a much better shape than the Android 2.3 days where apps were tied to the OS?
Any republic wireless user get the update? Still on 3.15.01.
No update available in play store.
Can the apk be side loaded?

i really appreciate the foresight to move those types of updates to the play store. with that said as an att customer it still bites that we have not been updated to 4.2.2.
Thanks for updated sharing.. I am going now updated...:fingers-crossed:
Anyone know whether this can be installed on the Moto X if you are running CyanogenMod (or does it require something in the Moto Rom framework?). I'm guessing no, and can test it myself later, but it's such a killer feature that I have no interest in CyanogenMod right now otherwise...

Then flash back to stock. Moto x stock rooted with gravity box is all you need. You got all the great features of the moto x plus the perks of being rooted and being able to customize your device.

None of these core components (touchless control, active notifications, etc.) can be installed on the CM or other 3rd party builds.

Yeah... because that's what I asked.... I'm not running cm, I'm running stock plus gravitybox. I asked a simple question - please improve your reading comprehension skills. And anyway, that is only sufficient until moto stops supporting the phone and cm is on android 5.0 and the x is stuck at 4.4.2....

Yea, I just got it too. I don't see any thing new in the Play Store change-log though. Maybe just bug fixes?
The new Touchless Control is great. Has the latest update to Active Display been fixed to not break it?
The new update got me using it again. Bug fixes including something along the line of better hotword detection something of which was needed. Along with the read notifications. I'm falling in love with this phone all over again.

Does the G Pad 10 cases and screen protectors fits on the X 2 10.1?
You refer to this tablet as the AT&T LG Pad X 2 10.1. The AT&T web site shows this as the LG G Pad X 10.1. Is this the same tablet?
Do you have way to root this device yet?
Well you said ask anything, I have a question....
3 points lie on an xy plane, with each point representing where a particular person lives. Amy lives at point (2,3); Brian lives at point (0,7); and Claire lives at point (-2,3). They all wish to meet up with each other for lunch, but at a location that is equidistant from each of their respective houses. At what point do they meet?
a. (0,4.5)
b. (0,13/3)
c. (0,3)
d. (1,5)

You can use an usb slim-port adapter. The slimport from Monoprice does work but one may also need to connect a power adapter to the adapter as some adapters need more power than supplied from the tablet else the battery could also run down very fast.
I have the pad 2 10.1 wifi & have used the Amazon slimport adapter for their Fire 8.9 4th gen to display on the TV. You can do miracast/*cast but the sound quality is much worst & quite noticeable.

How to upgrade to Marshmallow on LG V930 ?
I just received an LG V930 (LG G Pad X 10.1) off eBay. It was advertised as locked to AT&T, and has AT&T's bloatware. However:
- AT&T Device Unlock Request page does not recognize it as an AT&T device! I am trying to get around this via a 3rd-party unlock service.
- The tablet is running Android 5.1.1, Kernel 3.4.0, Build LMY47V, Version V93010d. But it does not update any further--it claims to be up to date already. How do I upgrade it to Android 6.0 ? Is it possible that the tablet is forcing me to wait 24 hours (after initialization) before Software Update will work?

An administrator on AT&T's Community Forum asserts that the tablet will not update unless it has an AT&T SIM card. I actually tried that, but the SIM card was pre-used; I got a message that it was "not provisioned", and the tablet would not update.

Moto X Style VoLTE Support India - RJio

Dear Moto X Style users,
I have written a mail to Motorola as well as Lenovo. Email addresses are listed below:
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
Here is the content of the email:
Respected Motorola/Lenovo Team,
I am a big fan of Motorola products. I prebooked Moto X Style on the very moment it's pre-booking window opened on flipkart.
It is a 2015 flagship of motorola. We have very high expectations from it. We were happy to see Marshmallow update rolling out for our device very soon after its release.
Currently in India RJio is occupying the market with its free 4G and VoLTE services. But unfortunately on our Moto X Style RJio internet disconnects very frequently and and we are unable to surf internet. Also there is no VoLTE support.
We were shocked when we heard that Moto X Play received VoLTE update in May 2016. However your flagship device of 2015 didn't receive the update.
We didn't said anything earlier because we were hoping that VoLTE update will roll out soon for Moto X Style too. But no it didn't.
We love Motorola devices but if you don't provide updates and support on your flagship devices in long run then what's the point of buying such devices.
Please look into this matter.
PS: Every smartphone manufacturer nowadays including Motorola and Lenovo is providing smartphones with VoLTE support even with price tag below Rs. 10000.
Regards,
Mehul Boricha
If possible do email Motorola and Lenovo to bring this issue to light. I have also shared it on Facebook and Twitter. Let's all share and post this issue so that we can enjoy RJio or any other 4g seamlessly on our Moto X Style.

Not the X though... the Moto Z and G4 will by the end of the year (not October).

Pretty much like last years announcement about Marshmallow... it was a warm up before dropping a few sets from the upgrade channels, honestly it could be the same for us. I find it more and more likely that the Moto X Style/Pure, Moto G 2015, Moto G Turbo, and Moto E 2nd gen will not get Nougat.

Better read that article your referencing again... it is a classic fluff article, no references and a lot of speculation and opinion based on the exact same article I am referencing, in fact it looks like they copy and pasted half of it. Their references are just the generic Moto software update page which has no information on Nougat at all.
My point is, if you have been around Moto for a while, this is a classic statement by them and exactly what happened last year with Marshmallow... they stated that some models would take longer due to performance or compatibility concerns, and then they said "oh, sorry, guess not" ... And yet we know all those devices worked fine with Marshmallow, they did get it via CM13 and other ROMs.
The fact that an aftermarket ROM works, doesn't mean anything about what the manufacturer does officially.
I hope I'm wrong... but I'm not getting my hopes up.
Received a call from Motorola Support. He told me that there is no problem with the device. It is the problem with Jio and it may not be compatible with Moto X Style and told me to contact Jio customer care.
I explained him that this issue is only happening with Moto X Style on other devices it is working fine but he won't listen. After talking to support I don't think they are going to provide any further official support to Moto X Style or any other previous smartphones. Neither VoLTE nor Android N.
Very disappointed.
Any custom roms for moto x style which supports volte

yes i do face the same problem, signal drops and reconnects every few mins . (Full stock brand new phone). I dint find anything that solves it.
i was equally shocket to find out that VOLTE support is not available yet on X Style for Jio. I had recommended this phone to a friend and she bought it to utilise Jio. Now she has to route the calls throug h JioVoice app. Data is working but with some disconnections. Not the case with my Moto X play?
Why should people pay premium for such phones when ultimately the company is to dump them. This is not a classic motorola. its a classic chinese Lenovo.

Good day to you Sir/Madam!
Motorola has released a patch/update for VoLTE feature for 'Moto X Play' but they have ignored the 'Moto X Style' for the same. 'Moto X Style' is one of the premium smartphones released in 2015 beside ' Moto X Force' and is easily eligible to receive the same VoLTE patch/update as it also has higher specifications and features.
We in India are unable to use VoLTE features offered by Reliance JIO network without this VoLTE feature update from Motorola for this device.
So, as you have able to provide VoLTE for Moto X Play, we also request you to provide the same VoLTE feature update/patch for the Moto X Style.
If this is never going to happen for this device in future also, please provide an update for us.

Moto G Expericence

I have the Moto G4 + 2/32 and I have a question, especially for developers, why is there no Rom with Moto G Experience?
It's called like that for me, because I think it would be good if it existed, with a main objective and that I think would be a good addition, to add the Moto Actions and the Moto Screen.
In order to have an experience of an android 9 or 10 in a device that is quite good in my opinion.
I close thread.
