Is even the lock screen from this possible on our phone?
Yeah.. I should've known better not to click that link. Anyone who knows anything though SHOULD HAVE KNOWN when purchasing a DX what limitations we would have over some other devices.
Although that does look pretty slick, Droid Incs are iphone wannabes, can't stand 'em.

Inc's are nowhere near iphone wannabes. I have both and while i love my X my incredilbe is still easier to use and hack. Title says it all especially after moto's blunder yesterday on the atrix page. Come on moto, you really arent working on anything and if you are it will probably mean a new developer device and not a fix for those of us working with the current ones.
read on for info if you havent seen it. http://phandroid.com/2011/01/19/motorola-locked-bootloaders-stay-you-can-go-elsewhere/
Motorola cleared up what that one, YouTube manager, employee said. It doesn't mean the bootloader will be unlocked, but they commented and it can only help.

If by "cleared up" you mean heaped a load of dung over it in an attempt to hide the smell of their previous ****ty response...
yep, they did that good!

also. Incredibles are nothing like iPhones. They are sick ass phones. Anywhoo on the good side of things motorola either tweeted or said on facebook that they would be working towards making their phone developer phones again and marked the locked bootloader section on their support forums as "implemented"

The inc is by far the best phone on Verizon right now in regards to hacking and ROM's. Anyone who hates on it is, well, is a hater The X is a good phone in terms of hardware, but the inc community is simply awesome. iphone it is not.
Motorola is listening guys! It may not happen with the X, 2, but I'm willing to bet the new moto phones will be more easy to manipulate. They see how it will hurt them in terms of future sales.
I really doubt it would hurt much when it comes to sales since a majority of Droid owners know nothing of the phones true potential. Although that was a crappy statement to make on motorola's part. As a consumer it really makes me think twice on what phone I will purchase next.

Even though the average consumer wont be rooting and what not, I'm sure many of these average users will read the comments of all the Modders and be put off on buying a moto: phone.

There's still no timeline and it appears the X will be getting 4.4 weeks before the Droid family.
So we're supposed to celebrate because MotoGoogle hasn't declared two-month-old devices obsolete? Gee, expectations are really getting low around here.

Pretty much my thoughts too. I pretty much knew right when I saw the Nexus 5 that Moto X and droids would be about a month or so behind in the update cycle.
What I'm actually excited to see is if 4.4 actually gives Verizon phones the ability to use Google Wallet or whatever payment system/NFC trickery

The Google/Verizon plans for 2014 are probably LTE tablets. Maybe- just maybe- we'll see a Google phone that is VoLTE-only, but I find it hard to believe that Verizon and Google would willingly partner on that. It doesn't seem like Verizon's style.

That's what those of us with Photons on GB thought too. Motorola's story was they would get JB...right up until the day they said they never would.
I think they are referring to the NFC payment part of the app that Verizon has disabled for the Maxx

Motorola added a gyroscope to the 4G version so you can take Photospheres with the Google Camera app.

Dunno, but I don't find having a gyro so important.
Why are you guys so excited about it?
OMG, this makes the device perfect for me <3 Thanks for this information! I'm looking forward to the european launch at the end of june.

For me it's all about photosphere. It's a really cool feature.
I sold my regular Moto G to get a 4g LTE version...
Didn't notice the gyroscope before, but after reading this thread, tested the camera and looks like the gyroscope is there...
Is Moto G 4G already available in US? I cannot find it for example on BestBuy website, why?

You can buy the Moto G LTE from Amazon:

It supports both ATT and T-Mobile LTE bands

That works on my Nexus 4, but I really don't find it useful. It's like 360 degree panorama (crappy one...)
Oh well, that's what I think of it. If you find it useful, then have fun with it
Guess this explains why the LTE comes with Spotlight Player installed as a system app :cyclops:

The launch price is £149, but in the UK, it's being quoted as £10 more for £159. Considering you can now get the moto g for £100 quite easily (I got it for £78 with vouchers etc), its still a fantastic deal, so don't feel left out . As ever, you get what you pay for.

My friend asked me for an entry level android phone recommendation; I think I am going to tell him to grab this 4g one. Now with the gyroscope, very cool. High end features in a cheap device. I'm selling my N5 and keeping the Moto G LTE as my daily driver
We all knew it was coming, but it looks like Motorola has finally officially changed hands from Google to Lenovo. I went to their site this morning and got a new flash animation site entry trailer that said Motorola a Lenovo Company. The 2014 X was certainly a product of the Google era, it will be interesting to see which way it goes now.
As long as they don't screw with quick updates and the performance of these phones, I don't care.
Well i ordered my moto x yesterday through motomaker. It already has been assembled and is now shipping from shenzen. I have to say i am living in Germany
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
Shouldn't really change much for these devices, Google is still in the works with Motorola due to the Nexus 6. So in terms of "3rd parties" outside of Google, Moto should be getting the updates for L out the quickest (helped by their stock approach as well).
It's still A "Motorola" phone. Parent company changing doesn't suddenly change that.

You must be joking right ?
Motorola - An iconic brand with it's own character.
What I want and expect is it remains Motorola forever. I bought my last Moto when company was dying, it was an Atrix 2 which is still my primary and only phone I have been using since more than 2.5 years. That time I though it may turn out my last Moto. But I am feeling so glad and lucky that company bounced back so strongly and today I have few great choices as my upgrade options. :good:
Though would have liked to see ownership of the company would have remained in the hands of Motorola itself or atleast in hands of Google.

they forgot the "2" at the end of "Turbo"
I'm not holding my breath for this to happen anytime in the near future. Probably most of us are on our next phone by then.

Agreed. There's nothing that I've thrown at this phone that it hasn't been able to handle. At one point there is going to be diminishing returns when it comes to computing power and phone software. That time seems to be about now. Until more hardcore GPU driven software starts to come out I don't feel I need to upgrade anytime soon.
Yeah we just got LP in June, so I'm thinking next June for MM?? By the time we get it, the rest of Android will be ready for the next version..lol

It was actually July 1.
Soak test was in June, but OTA started July 1.
Back in March, Motorola insiders leaked info that the Droid Turbo would get Lollipop in July. We thought that was a joke, but it was the sad truth.
I stand corrected...
I still think our huge delay had more to do with problems with lollipop itself then Motorola. I'm going with 6.0 before the end of 2015.

I mean, just look at the specs on this thing. Some of the new phones coming out now don't stack up to the Turbo specs-wise. Come on bootloader unlock, I'm keeping my Turbo.
