Hey people,
i was trying to find some news about CM/CM based Roms for our S6 Edge+ but with no luck. I found that the reason is because Samsung doesnt made the source code of Exynos processors available to people worldwide, but i found that someone already building CM for S6.
Does anyone have some more info? Much appreciated!

Whats new/fixed in this firmware ?
anyone??
seriously?
from memory you used to create a ROM in the i9305 section, so you should know this better than anyone - samsung don't release changelogs for their ROMs, so most "changes" are just hearsay.
Still. It's the right place for asking, and you never know...

im also very interested as to which phones will be supported...but not only that but how easy will it be to get your device supported...im over in Asia and there aren't variants that aren't well supported by the major custom rom developers like AOKP, CM, Panandroid....which makes it really hard and sucks to get in on the "open source" goodness...i hope Omni is easy to bring to a large selection of phones...
EDIT: ok, well that makes sense the vanilla versions...just hope its easier to get more on board...

Asian phones implying mediatek based? There are a few commits in Gerrit to add support for them, but I think it's still not usable. They'll do their best
As for not being supported. Unfortunately it's down to getting a device maintainer. There will be guides posted no doubt, and this is xda. Basically a massive manual on hacking android

While it doesn't look like there is "official support" for it per se, I doubt it would be hard to get it building for it. Somebody will figure it out for sure.

If you can get AOSP to run on your device, you should be able to get Omni to run. Currently, a device tree needs nothing significant beyond an AOSP tree (I think about 3 lines of changes to make an AOSP tree work in Omni). This means work on porting Omni is helpful to those wanting AOSP as well.

Mediatek chips will most likely end up supported. I understand that most projects eschew them through a lack of sources etc, but we intend to do what we can with them, as they offer interesting opportunities including multi-SIM support to say the least.

Unfortunately the amount of carrier interference on many US phones makes them less fun for anyone wanting custom ROMs If you can get the SIM-free international model, that often helps, but that's obviously not possible with Verizon...

Hats off to you guys, this is kind of a great progress you've done here. I was like wtf when I saw the project in the news in the morning. Already registered at your Gerrit and started syncing sources. I'm really excited to see this running on my P880. Hope you don't mind that I'm cheating. Will help you with this project as much as I can.

Hi,
I would say Qualcomm.
First it's the very common model in europe and in the US threrefore, more dev will be done on this architecture .
Also this chip is very well documented compare to the exynos one so again more stable tweaks ahead.
I have the SM-G900F!
Hi all,
I was wondering if there is someone here who has the knowledge to port the s6 version of cm13 to our device.
Here's the original s6 thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/orig-development/cyanogenmod-13-galaxy-s6-t3269984
Also later to make it dual boot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/guide-dualboot-cm13-tw-t3271545
Thanks

Why would it be awesome?
I'm sure you aren't aware of what you are going to lose by going from a TouchWiz ROM to a CM ROM?
The camera features and the super awesome camera quality is one of the things you will lose. So if you want to make the camera to be really bad, then sure, go for a CM ROM.
The second thing you would lose is the super color accurate screen mode (Basic) that the TouchWiz ROMs for the Galaxy S6 edge+ have. So if you want to have worser colors on the screen, then again, go for it.
Are you willing to lose those 2 important things just to have CM13?
But sure, choices are always good, but i don't see any benefits of the CM ROMs anylonger on a Galaxy device today. Some years ago i wouldn't have said the same.

and this because unlike snapdragon Exynos is not an opened source so developers can't port to it

http://ndroid.io/forums/thread/riverrom-n3-n900-exynos-s7edge-port/
They say the Tab S did receive the MM update, if it is true can we port it? Since Tab S has the same exact Exynos as the Note 3.
But I also not sure since the update arrive for Tab S LTE, and the LTE is the Snapdragon right?

S5 Exynos already have a MM update but we didn't see any port from that so I guess they couldn't as I said before Exynos is not an open source maybe this is the reason why we must wait for Samsung update
So are we getting a real update to MM or we are just hoping?!
