[Q] Can someone port cm13 to our device? - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I was wondering if there is someone here who has the knowledge to port the s6 version of cm13 to our device.
Here's the original s6 thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/orig-development/cyanogenmod-13-galaxy-s6-t3269984
Also later to make it dual boot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/guide-dualboot-cm13-tw-t3271545
Thanks

I Tried to modify the update-script and build.prop but it doesen't boot...i don t know why(the hardware are the same)

Just want to clarify CM13 IS out on s6. We just need a CM13 kernel for our device. Mayybe drivers. And mayybe call fix unless thats just tw.

can we port arter97 kernel?...
But in the s6 topic i see that the rom doesn t need a specifc kernel

Omg cm13 would be so awesome on our device. Hope someone can figure it out soon.
@arter97 do you know what we have to do to get cm13 from the s6 to the edge+ (G928F)

Why would it be awesome?
I'm sure you aren't aware of what you are going to lose by going from a TouchWiz ROM to a CM ROM?
The camera features and the super awesome camera quality is one of the things you will lose. So if you want to make the camera to be really bad, then sure, go for a CM ROM.
The second thing you would lose is the super color accurate screen mode (Basic) that the TouchWiz ROMs for the Galaxy S6 edge+ have. So if you want to have worser colors on the screen, then again, go for it.
Are you willing to lose those 2 important things just to have CM13?
But sure, choices are always good, but i don't see any benefits of the CM ROMs anylonger on a Galaxy device today. Some years ago i wouldn't have said the same.

I think the camera quality and screen calibration will come eventually. But i really like the experience of stock Android.

Samsung/AOSP hybrid rom

Hello!
I was looking today for a rom for my friend's Galaxy S2. Then I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1847600
It's based on Sammy's rom, but most apps were changed to AOSP. Same as MIUI for our device, which supports all S Pen features but only S Note and camera app are from Sammy.
Is someone planning to develop this kind of rom for our device? Is there something like this that I missed.
Thanks!
EDIT:
Oops, thought I was is Q&A forum. Please move this post to there...
Damn that definitely looks awesome of a rom..especially the dialer and status bar, maybe someone will get to port it to the Note II.

Posting this rom won't help us, we still won't have S Pen and stability.
Someone needs to take the AOSP apps, port them to the Note 2 and replace the Samsung apps. I have no idea how to port the AOSP apps, so I can't to that..
The CaponMod ROM is the closest we've got to an AOSP-hybrid rom feel as far as I've seen.
This looks quite appealing. :good:

it's not exactly what I was looking for as the Chamelon rom is mostly AOSP, only Samsung features and two apps, not a skin.

Hi,
First of all... there are here loads of threads with subject "s4 vs one'' and similar, so is no need of another one.
HTC One has problems and bugs also, you can check their threads and you will see. Now its really up to you what you want/need. If you don't care so much for those loudspeakers i don't see any other reason in choosing the One.
I would choose any s4 over the One, because of the non removable battery, no microsd slot and that 4 UltraPixel camera, which i think is a joke.
S4 with the new updates fixed most of the bugs, and will continue to get fixed with every update.
This is my personal opinion.
You are best off comparing the S4 and the ONE in a shop and then make your mind up, nobody can tell you what is best for YOU!
EDIT : One biggie, it take`s 4hr+ to fully charge the HTC One and only 1hr30m to charge the S4
Have a look at the HTC One forum and see what the problems are.

If you charge a li-ion battery too fast you can make it heat up and reduce it`s life, it is virtually impossible to replace the HTC One`s battery, apart from returning it to HTC, this must be the reason for the super slow charge rate.
Still i love my HTC One, i wish i had an S4 as well, but i dont have the money

Personally i like the S4's TW. So i don't really customize it too much.
On the other hand, there are mods for i9500 and there will always be, thats not a problem.
There aren't too many custom ROMS, and will be more difficult to get a stock Android ROM running properly on the 9500 because Samsung doesn't release the documentation for Exynos.
I'm thinkin that is no really need for custom ROMS... if you want, you can customize it yourself, you root it, you remove Samsung's bloatware, you change the launcher, you add mods and tweaks to your own stock ROM.. so that's what i think.
Like someone else said here, you can go to a shop and play with both phones.
Have a look on youtube, lots of video comparing the Samsung S4 and HTC One

I've used both and really it all depends if you like an AMAZING camera and a ton of features (SGS4) VS a ok camera (besides low light) and not to many features but Ultra smooth UI with no lag whatsoever (HTC One). If you use the internal speakers a lot GET the HTC One. Those dual stereo speakers are just pure amazingness. If you want battery life go with the S4. And yes the HTC One takes long to charge. There are some bugs with the S4 though. People say it never lags but in all honesty, the S4 compared to the HTC One is very laggy. The HTC One has iPhone smoothness compared to the S4. All in all they are both amazing phones, and if I could I would have both i would. I stuck with the S4 mainly for the camera and the better battery life. But since you have the Exynos version I'm not sure how good the batter is.

[PORT] Touchwiz Coming Soon...

Hey Peeps! What up ? I Am going to PORT Touchwiz to Moto G, Well atleast i am going to try. I am going to start working as soon as Samsung starts rolling KitKat Update.Once it got booted i will create a thread in Android Development.
The reason for creating this post is to aware people about my work & Of course to grab some attention.
Why Touchwiz ?
Well, There are already some Manufacturers PORTs being Develop. So, I ended up this.
I might some help in Future ? With Tests,Logcats,Kernels,Boot,Etc......Are you up ?
Let's see how many people supports me..
Thank You!!
(Please don't hate me for Choosing Touchwiz,There's no other UI to Port
Just a quick design/typographic suggestion for you, friend: this post is not readable when someone is using the XDA Premium app with dark background settings. Your black font color does not contrast well with the app's background.
In order to reach a wider audience, you might want to remove the color-equals-black tags from your OP.
Good luck with your project...

@J.K pls let us know about your past experience/work on porting
if you are new to this porting stuff. then all the best for your work
i would like to mention this you are over confident..
not going to be rude or anything but I just find touchwiz really ugly. it doesn't look nice
Agreed, good luck with your port but i'll never touch something with touchwiz.
Why would you pick the most ugliest version of Android to replace the beautiful vanilla version on the Moto G? Most Samsung owners who root their phones switch to AOSP based ROMs as soon as possible. And here you are trying to bring this monstrosity into your life? Why? Why? Why?
Just messing with you dude. All the best with the port.

I dont see the problem with that launcher? Maybe its because i use Android L Wallpaper. Only thing i noticed is that that folder is ugly.
First of all, there is no reason for discouraging remarks to members who want to contribute to the community. If you don't like what they are doing, nobody is forcing you to flash it on your phone. Move along and get on with your day.
Secondly, we do not allow placeholder threads here. When the work is complete, feel free to post it. For this reason I'm closing this thread.
Thanks.

When will we see Cyanogenmod ?

So when do you guys think samsung will decide to release the code for the exynos and we can get more ROMS ?

I was thinking king about this too. I am a fan of AOSP Roms, but the camera quality is always neutered so badly on samsung phones, it's not worth it. Not to mention other stuff like finger print scanner and the edge stuff. We have root and a theme engine as well as exposed, it's pretty good.
The only phone that I used CM on that was worth it from Samsung was the note 4 because somebody made a camera nightshot fix, the pic quality was indistinguishable from TW, but that was an exception.

Stabilizer on custom ROMS ?

Hi
I've noticed that on custom roms like CM, there's no camera stabilization
I can get it only thanks to Cinema-FV, but I don't want this app
How can I enable it ? Build.prop tweaks ?
Thanks in advance
devs don't have access to the source code for Samsung's camera drivers so the full extent of it's capabilities can never be harnessed on custom roms not based on touchwiz.
if you want a great camera you'll probably need to dual boot with a small debloated tw rom...

Thanks for answering !
I know that Samsung doesn't share his camera driver, but, other apps like Camera FV-5 can make a kind of software-stabilization
How ? Any chance to get that stabilizer by decompiling camera's apk ?
