I can't seem to get a vanilla kernel to detect the MMC cards (both the eMMC and the additional MMC card I inserted). Can we somehow find out which driver android uses for these?

I would like to know if the SecureMMC can be used with the Himalaya. I realy need to use the secure features of this card.
Thank you.
Cesar Bremer Pinheiro.
I havent heard of that particular type of mmc, I think the "secure" part of "secure digital" refers to the little slider switch which when moved to the on position renders the memory card read only and so is secure from being overwritten.
Please see:

This card isn't only a MMC card, it have secure encryption inside, suitable to protect data, the keys and encryption/decryption are inside the card. The device is a tampered resistant device, the keys will be erased if you try to open the card.
Cesar.
That site talks about SD (Secure Digitial) cards, which although are the same format as MMC cards, are not the same thing.
Both MMC cards and SD cards do work in the XDA and XDA2 though!
it's not called secure mmc it's called SD as in secure digital
it have the same packet as mmc and it's backward compatible with mmc
but there is where the similarities end they are very different internally
here is some reading
http://www.google.dk/search?q=mmc+vs.+sd&ie=UTF-8&hl=da&btnG=Google-søgning
and yes they work the xda both 1 and 2 dont have mmc slots they have SD slots which are backward compatible with mmc
how to take advantage of the encryption i dont know try googleing around for it
I have a magican with one of the hybrid wifi/SD casrd from San disk
WMSE says that no card has been inserted - the SD component seems to work but not the wifi side of things.
Should I have installed a driver - I did install sw fron Sandisk but no driver
Any guidance would be great :?:
...To be modified to accept FAT32 formatting?
It could be the key for making them compatible with higher capacity SD cards, and maybe SDHC as well (which use the same reader, but different drivers...).
I might be wrong but as far as I know PDAs *do* support FAT32.
However, there are/can be problems with (mini/micro)SD cards over 2 GB.
Both the Wizard and Blue Angel support FAT32 -- I format the SD/miniSDs using PocketMechanic. You can download a demo version from Handango.
If you have a PC with a card reader that supports the cards in question, you can also format on the PC using standard Windows format utilities.
Since there is new card specification, Secure Digital High Capacity, a question if present devices will manage to work with this new standard is up to date. I read about SDHC driver that is present in newest leaked roms (aku 3.3 / crossbow) and I foud it myself in wizard ROM. The file name is OMAP850_SDHC.dll, I can't check if SDHC cards really work because I don't have such card but I'm curious if it can Looking through hex code seams it is the driver we all wont but when we look at registry we find HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\SDHC and nothing about SDHC in HKLM\Drivers\SDCARD\ClientDrivers\Class. And now my question to developers and hackers how it should look like to make it work? Do we need to simply add SDHC_Class or it needs some more magic?
SDHC here means SD Host Controller, not SD High Capacity (
i have faulty emmc i9300 so i remove EMMC and now new emmc is not avalable in my market so can i use a sd card as emmc and how can you send me a pinout of i9300 and sd card to use sd card as emmc
i found a topic on gsmforum (EMMC PINOUT)
but i not understande can you send a all pinout to use a sd card as emmc
You simply can't use ordinary sdcard in place of eMMC without modifying all bootloaders and kernel, as eMMC is using slightly different pinout (wider i/o bus for eg.) and a protocol.
