how to use sd card as emmc in i9300 - Hardware Hacking General

i have faulty emmc i9300 so i remove EMMC and now new emmc is not avalable in my market so can i use a sd card as emmc and how can you send me a pinout of i9300 and sd card to use sd card as emmc
i found a topic on gsmforum (EMMC PINOUT)
but i not understande can you send a all pinout to use a sd card as emmc

You simply can't use ordinary sdcard in place of eMMC without modifying all bootloaders and kernel, as eMMC is using slightly different pinout (wider i/o bus for eg.) and a protocol.

SecureMMC card.

I would like to know if the SecureMMC can be used with the Himalaya. I realy need to use the secure features of this card.
Thank you.
Cesar Bremer Pinheiro.
I havent heard of that particular type of mmc, I think the "secure" part of "secure digital" refers to the little slider switch which when moved to the on position renders the memory card read only and so is secure from being overwritten.
Please see:
http://www.sdcard.org/sd_memorycard/index.html
This card isn't only a MMC card, it have secure encryption inside, suitable to protect data, the keys and encryption/decryption are inside the card. The device is a tampered resistant device, the keys will be erased if you try to open the card.
Cesar.
That site talks about SD (Secure Digitial) cards, which although are the same format as MMC cards, are not the same thing.
Both MMC cards and SD cards do work in the XDA and XDA2 though!
it's not called secure mmc it's called SD as in secure digital
it have the same packet as mmc and it's backward compatible with mmc
but there is where the similarities end they are very different internally
here is some reading
http://www.google.dk/search?q=mmc+vs.+sd&ie=UTF-8&hl=da&btnG=Google-søgning
and yes they work the xda both 1 and 2 dont have mmc slots they have SD slots which are backward compatible with mmc
how to take advantage of the encryption i dont know try googleing around for it

[Q] SD card partition problem

So I am running CM7 off of an sd card in my nook color.(Using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1904129 and I highly recommend). Win32discimager for some reason created a small partition just larger than the installer which remains on the card. I also have the android OS on the card that is taking up 1 gb partition. The rest of my 16gb micro sd card is labeled as the emmc for the tablet which is not what i intended. Now I cant load it up with my movies and videos like I had hoped.
Does anyone know:
Is there any way I can change these partitions on my card? (I have already tried EasuUS partition manager)
Where did the 1gb partition that android is on come from and why did the emmc get so large?
Is there any way to take the android image currently on my sd card and just putting onto the nook after I have already had it run from the sd card and then just formatting my sd card for storage?
There are probably newbie questions but I have tried to do my own research and havent found any certainties. Any help would be really appreciated.

Ok, first you need to go to my tips thread linked in my signature and read in section B how the verygreen SD works. You will understand the partition structure a little better.
Now for your sdcard/emmc media storage problem, you have a setting wrong in CM7. Go to settings, CyanogenMod settings, Application and uncheck "Use internal storage". What that setting does is swap emmc and sdcard so that your real sdcard is called emmc and internal media storage is called sdcard. It is not default that way. Somehow it got checked.

[Q] Solution needed for external sd card 4GB limit

Hi.
I need help to get my rooted Kitkat S4 i9500 stock rom 4.2.2 GNL1 to read my sd card formatted in ext4. Would anyone be so kind as to point me in the right direction here.
Basically, I use my phone to download large files greater than 4Gb off the internet & my external 32Gb card is formatted in native fat32. This poses the 4Gb file limit which is an irritation.
Am I better off with ext4 or exfat? I have formatted my external sd card in ext4 through twrp, but the rooted stockrom doesn't know it exists when the system is booted up. Will I have better luck with exfat being recognised by the phone?
Looking for a Touchwiz solution without having to resort to a custom rom.
How am I gonna get over this problem?
You can go with exFAT since its file size limit is (theoretically) 128 petabytes and, according to the Samsung user guide, "The device supports the FAT and the exFAT file systems for memory cards. When inserting a card formatted in a different file system, the device asks to reformat the memory card." The S4 doesn't support ext4-formatted MicroSD cards, so that's not an option.

Hi Strephon, any suggestions on how I should go about formatting in exFat? TWRP doesn't have the option & I don't have a card reader. I tried Parted Magic & USB cable option, but can't seem to mount the SD card at all in this program. I'm sure there's an easy way somehow... which is probably right under my nose!
Buy a card reader for your PC and format it there. Windows Vista and later all have exFAT support included.

That would be a little excessive for a once off operation, but I think there might be a pc at my work that has a reader. Thanks though.
Seems silly Android can't just format the sd card itself....
Umm, MicroSD card readers are dirt cheap. You can get ones that plug into the USB port of a PC for around $5. I have one hanging around here somewhere, even though I don't need it as I have a laptop.

Which driver is the built in MMC controller using?

I can't seem to get a vanilla kernel to detect the MMC cards (both the eMMC and the additional MMC card I inserted). Can we somehow find out which driver android uses for these?

Cid 11 eMMC Chip sd card equivalent,maybe...

As quoted from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve.../toshiba-11-series-bootloader-unlock-t3349346
"Our chip is the THGBMHG7C1LBAIL I believe" I begun searching for some sd cards that might use it and my guess is that these sd cards might have the same eMMC chip on them:

~and~

This is what i found on Toshiba's documantation of the emmc controller:
