I bought phone in Italy from a carrier (TIM): the rom was branded and CSC was TIM.
I flashed unbranded Italian rom and *#1234# gives me ITV as CSC, but if I connect phone to PC with kieds it tells me I have a branded TIM rom, and as a matter if fact I am not getting the ota that most unbranded Italians are getting.
Why that?
No one with an answer?

Your phone is perceived as modified.. Hence no OTA... I read somewhere that you would have to go through a hard reset I order to make ITV permanent so that you would get OTA's for ITV but I am not sure..
Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
No way I'm going to hard reset... No time to go thru all settings again... Will wait for ITV or maybe flash another nation and then ITV when out
I've gone from branded to unbranded on my G928F using Odin 3.10.7.
- Install Smart Switch from Samsung on your PC to get the latest USB drivers.
- Start Odin, load the firmware you want to flash into the AP tab (In the options list, make sure repartition is off/unchecked).
- Boot your phone into download mode and connect your phone with your PC using USB cord. Odin, should state "Added" and show a blue colored box in the top left section.
- Start flashing the firmware by pressing Start.
- After flash is complete and everything went allright, Odin you state "Pass". Your phone will reboot automatically.
- Unplug the USB cord. Reboot your phone into recovery mode and select wipe/factory reset.
This at first generated an error within my phone, saying "No Command", alongside a Android puppet with a red triangle, but the wipe went on and the phone rebooted as well. CSC was changed from VDF to PHN, no carrier bloat and device status "Official"

Hi
I have this Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (SM N910F). I am here in Pakistan. I purchased my Note 4 from UK and Its on EE. I was using it here and it got an Official OTA Update of Marshmallow which I installed. After a couple of days, my phone automatically got bricked. I contacted a local mobile repairing shop who dumped some other unbranded international firmware which changed its CSC too [CSC after updating unbranded firmware = (N910FOXX1COH1)]. The firmware was not working properly and had glitches.
Now i want to flash its stock EE Firmware which i have downloaded. I tried to flash it with ODIN but then i noticed that the CSC was changed so i tried to change the CSC by rooting the phone and for that i reboot the phone in Download Mode. The phone usually goes to black screen and does not start after proper power off and I need to soft reset it (By pulling the battery and draining battery charges) in order to turn it on everytime. After a couple of restarts in this way, the phone finally stopped to turn on. In download mode i had an error of "PIT File not found" while i tried to root it through ODIN. I tried to normal boot the phone but now it doesnt boot at all.
I need to boot it so that i may change my CSC to flash my stock firmware (please tell me if changing CSC would be necessary, Current CSC = N910FOXX1COH1,
Required CSC = N910FEVR1DPE1)
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Try to flash your EE rom with pit file for note 4 910f.

Thanks for the reply !
Is it necessary to change the csc to UK region before flashing the UK firmware ? My phone is not booting to download mode either right now. Earlier today it was booting infact i tried to exit from download mode 2 times by pulling the battery but every time it automatically reboot to download mode. That was the moment when i shut down the phone by pressing home + power and after that it doesnt turn on
UK firmware includes UK csc. Then you don't need to change it manually.
But if your phone won't turn on I don't know how to recover it. (try to Recharge your phone and then go to download mode. I think your battery is fully discharged. )
If you can able to access download mode, flash firmware with the pit file using Odin.

I have an S7 edge running the latest BTU firmware DQG1.
I have tried to flash it via Odin to EVR which failed. The phone is stuck on an error has occurred while updating the device.
It is not detectable via Samsung Smart.
I have tried to reflash it with DQG1 and it starts and then half way through fails.
Have I killed it? Please help I've only had it a week.
Here is what you can do, if it fails, then yes you have bricked your device... If not, hurray!
1. Charge your phone to 80%
2. Put your phone in download mode.
3. Uninstall, redownload and reinstall the driver for your phone. You can use the device manager in Windows for this.
4. Get the stock firmware with BTU CSC which is the default.
5. Use a new USB cable to connect the phone to the PC, this will eliminate the error IF its cable related.
6. Flash the new software
7. Pray
8. If all goes well, you'll have a working phone....
I tried again last night with a different USB cable and the latest BTU and it is now back up and running.
Next question is how do I get it on EVR firmware ?
samsung galaxy s7 edge (sm-935F) uk sim free "failed to varify for dmverity hash tree
HI i am having a problem with my samsung galaxy s7 edge i updated to the latest firmware a few days ago and apps started crashing constantly causing the phone to go into a boot loop after a few minutes.
So i tried to flash the latest firmware using odin which went fine but i now have the error "failed to varify for dmverty hash tree" "reboot into recovery again"
i have tried the latest XEU and BTU firmware without any success. my phone details are:
model: sm-G935F (s7 edge)
country: UK
carrier: Sim Free
The problem is i don't know which firmware to install to get it to work again.
is their any way to get past the dmverty error without having the oem unlock option enabled?
also i think the phone reset the settings when it went into the boot loop and turned the "oem unlock" setting off (which i didn't realise untill after i re-flashed the firmware with odin)
Also i am having issues working out which firmware to install off updato.com to remove the dmverty error i have tried the latest btu and xeu versions with the same results.
thanks for your help i have been messing around with this phone for over 10 hours with no success.
EDIT: when i reboot the phone it comes up with the android error logo and "no command" text also i think the phone has reset itself when it rebooted last night and disabled the oem unlock option which could be part of the problem.
EDIT2: i also tried samsung smart switch which doesn't work as it comes up with "unsupported device"
"No command" is normal. You just need to wait about 20 seconds for recovery to load up.

Hi thanks for the reply i know but when the recovery loads it comes up with the error i mentioned above and if i reboot using power+home+volume up it goes into a boot loop till i manage to get back into recovery by pressing power+home+volume down at witch point the screen says:
"no support SINGLE-SKU"
supported api: 3
dm-verty error........
Flash it again with new firmware. Put AP, BL, CP and CSC, plus extract pit file to be on the safe side and also include it in odin.

Their is no pit file included with the firmware i downloaded from updato.com the main reason i don't use sammobile is because the downloads are too slow (2 hours to download none premium really)
It's always included. You need to make a copy of a CSC file, then change extension of that copy file to .zip, extract it and inside you will find pit file.
ok i flashed the firmware following your directions and still get the verty error as above
In that case it might be hardware issue and only authorised service centre might be able to help.
I have run out of ideas.
thanks for your help
Yeah i have a feeling it's a hardware issue as it happened quite quickly i will probably just get another phone as the s7 is not worth repairing (samsung service centres charge a small fortune)
so about two weeks ago my phone failed in odin since then it doesnt get detected on the pc... i tried literally everything i used different pc's,different cables, reinstalled drivers everything and still not detected so what can i do i went to samsung here in egypt said he couldnt fix it because the device is not from egypt and they are not familiar with it *doesnt make sense tbh* so what can i do now? and is there anyway i can flash through sd card any ota update??
device : SM-g9750
Charge your phone for some time and see if it turns on and if it does go to download mode or emergency recovery screen is download mode too and try the following steps
1. While your phone is on the Emergency Recovery Screen or download mode, connect it to the computer.
2. Open Odin and load all the firmware files. Download the original firmware file
3. You will find that Odin has already detected your phone.
4. The options checked in Odin should be F.Reset.Time and Auto-Reboot.
5. After making all the preparations, click on the “Start” button in Odin.
6. Let the firmware flashing end. Once done, disconnect the phone and let it turn on. You will be out of the Emergency Recovery/Download mode Screen now.

Which firmware did you attempt to flash? For your device only 3 firmwares will work, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan. It's not a Multi-CSC device so if you attempted flashing the Egypt firmware (Exynos) you could be SOL.

I had a device - laptop connectivity issue on my SM-G9750. I tried updated drivers, different cables and adapters. Strangely enough it wasn't until I updated Windows 10 that the problem was solved. If you haven't done so you might give this a shot.

Hey folks, my Dad got a Sansung J500-FN (2016) from his friend and is now having a problem setting it up.
Problem:
He performed a factory reset on the device and now it wont find a network connection during the setup.
After selecting the landuage, it just sits there scanning for available connections and never finds any.
Tried:
Clearing cache and further factory resets (With and without several different SIM cards)
Connecting through WPS (It times out)
Entering the network details manually
The Wi-Fi in the house is bradcasting it's SSID and other devices are connected to it and working without issue.
Question:
Is there anything we can do to get past this stage of the setup or force it to connect?
Would flashing a stock ROM resolve the issue and can this be done via a SD card (USB debugging/Developer options are off as the PC wont detect the device).
The device is completley stock at the moment.
I'm at a bit of a loss as what to try next and seem to be going round in circles trying to find a solution, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I haven't played around with this stuff since my Galaxy ACE
If you need any further infor just let me know.
Cheers

Hi,
The problem may get solved by flashing the latest Firmware!
If you want to flash Official Samsung stock rom /firmware, you have got to use ODIN which works from a windows PC with the mobile connected through USB wire when in the Download Mode ( Recovery Mode>Boot Loader> Download Mode ) & it needs that your device is detected by the PC as an MTP device i.e. it shows in the Computer folder with a mobile icon & files can be transferred between the PC & Mobile when connected. For USB debugging some Samsung USB drivers would be needed to install on the Windows PC but developer mode is not needed on the mobile.
Don't just go ahead but to give you an idea as to what you are going to do in the near future : Update/Flash/Unbrick your device via Odin
1. I suppose you are running Windows 8 or later on the PC. Get to know what is wrong with the PC or Operating System : Try another PC, Try another Operating System, Try another USB port, Try another USB connecting wire. Check whether 'Auto Play' is selected in the Operating System settings. Is it all well in the 'Device Manager' before & after connecting the mobile ? When you connect the mobile to PC, the PC should be connected to the internet. 'Device Installation settings' should be set to automatically install drivers from windows update. ( It would be better if you can make a system image for precaution & install pending windows updates )
2. In which country you are using the device ? Which is the Internet Provider ? Did you try another Wifi services ? What is the usability of the device at the moment : Can You use the mobile data ? What is the CSC of the installed firmware on your device ? ( I am interested Just in the CSC Code! )
Let us know.
Thanks.
Thank you for the reply @LittlePro
1.
The computer is running Winows 10 Build 19043
It is connected to the internet via Wi-Fi and this is working as good as it gets in my location.
Autoplay is on (Set to 'Ask me everytime')
Samsung USB drivers are installed and Windows update set to automatically download.
* Swapping ports/cables and trying a different Wi-Fi etc will take time. I am currently confined to bed following a motorcycle accident a couple years ago (Damn Pressure Sores). Next time I'm back in the wheelchair I'll try this and update. It may be due to the port or USB extension I'm using (The PC does detect my Alcatel phone without issues)*
2.
In which country you are using the device ? Portugal
Which is the Internet Provider ? MEO
Did you try another Wifi services ? Not yet, this will take time (See * above)
What is the usability of the device at the moment ?
I can access Recovery/Download modes (Vol Up+Home+Power/Vol Down+Home+Power)
When starting the device normally, It asks me to choose a language and then moves to the 'Scanning for Wi-Fi' screen. It goes no further than this.
Can You use the mobile data ?
After a factory reset there is a popup message asking if I want to turn mobile data on/off. This is set to On, but it doesn't seem to use mobile data.
What is the CSC of the installed firmware on your device
The device was originally in the UK with an EE contract the CSC is - EVR
As soon as I can, I'll try the other suggestions and post an update.
Appreciate the the info, thank you.

That means it is branded. That may be locked to use with EE services. You should look for a firmware for the model : SM-J500FN & Region : TPH
TPH is unbranded firmware for Portugal. My first choice would be that. If you want latest firmware, it comes from Spain unbranded : PHE
The other option may be BTU which is unbranded from UK.
The way to download for me would be either there .That needs membership OR the tool as there.
Let me know.
Thanks. ...
EDIT : It seems MEO from Portugal, PHE from Spain & BTU from UK!
UPDATE:
Managed to get my lazy ass out of this bed, so I was able to check cables/ports.
The USB cable I was using would charge the phone (albeit very slowly) but wouldn't allow data transfer.
Swapped this with another cable and now the PC detects the phone without issue.
I've updated the firmware to the one from spain (PHE). The one from Portugal (TPH) installed the Unbranded firmware for Romania (ROM) for some reason.
Both installed without issue, but I figured if the latest version was the Spanish one, I may aswell use that.
Unfortunately I'm back to the initial problem.
I can select my language and then I'm stuck on the 'Scanning for networks' screen.
There is a new message that appears, saying - An unauthorized attempt has be made to factory reset your device. Please log into your account to verify your identity. Convinced this phone is now just laughing at me lol
I still need to get out of the house to try some other Wi-Fi networks, to see if it just doesn't like my home Wi-Fi
Will update again once this is done or I figure anything else out.
Cheers

The device is connected to a particular Google Account which was previously used on this device. Try flashing CSC instead of CSC_HOME. There are also other options in the ODIN but honestly I am not sure about their consequences!
Let us know.
Thanks. ...
Yeah the unbranded one for Portugal seems to be MEO, so I've installed this one (This also happens to be my ISP)
The device still wont detect a W-Fi network.
At this point, I'm beginning to think that there may be a problem with the device itself.
So I'm currently looking around for something to test this.
All the files I downloaded only had one CSC file in them (There was no CSC_HOME). The current file is -
CSC_MEO_J500FNMEO1BQA1_CL10432640_QB12297267_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar
I figured that was what that message meant. If only I could progress to that stage.
Guess I'll keep searching. On the brightside, I'm learning a bit more about phones.
Cheers
