I have an S7 edge running the latest BTU firmware DQG1.
I have tried to flash it via Odin to EVR which failed. The phone is stuck on an error has occurred while updating the device.
It is not detectable via Samsung Smart.
I have tried to reflash it with DQG1 and it starts and then half way through fails.
Have I killed it? Please help I've only had it a week.
Here is what you can do, if it fails, then yes you have bricked your device... If not, hurray!
1. Charge your phone to 80%
2. Put your phone in download mode.
3. Uninstall, redownload and reinstall the driver for your phone. You can use the device manager in Windows for this.
4. Get the stock firmware with BTU CSC which is the default.
5. Use a new USB cable to connect the phone to the PC, this will eliminate the error IF its cable related.
6. Flash the new software
7. Pray
8. If all goes well, you'll have a working phone....
I tried again last night with a different USB cable and the latest BTU and it is now back up and running.
Next question is how do I get it on EVR firmware ?

I have just bricked my newly-bought Note 3 (N900).
I wanted to flash the latest version of Note 3 via Odin 3.08 (from 4.3 to 4.4.2). I made a big mistake as I didn't enable the "USB DEBUGGING" mode before go to download mode.
I clicked start in Odin and it show FAIL!!!
After I restart the phone all I see on the screen is the message "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
I tried to recover it through Kies, but the it shows the phone is not connected or not support. Meaning the Kies cannot communicate with the phone at all.
I also tries to flash in Odin many times, but it still fails.
Please!!! Can anyone here give me some solution.
Thanks.

I tried many time already, but still fail. I think because the usb debugging mode was not enable at the first place.
Thank anyway.

Usb debugging has nothing to do with it failing when you're using odin. Try a different version of odin.
A simple reflash via Odin 1.85 or 3.07/3.04 will fix it.

USB Debugging has nothing to do with odin flash, make sure while flashing below steps.
1. Update boot loader is selected in odin.(Edit:for single file not required)
2. Disable antivirus.
3. make sure note 3 drivers are installed.
4. kies not running in bag round.
5.Clear Factory Data & Catch before flash.
if all of those step fail..
try to flash ur rom on other computer or laptop

You've indeed saved my day... I've been searching high and low, installing various versions of Odin3, downloading tonnes of tar, tarmd5, zip, etc.!
Pardon me for my ignorance, but I never intended to root my cell phone in the first place. I was merely following what Kies suggested, "A New Firmware, Wanna Upgrade?" Oh, truly? Gee, thanks! And **** it, it screwed up my GT-N7000, saying "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue..." and my cell phone never saw the daylight again, regardless how I started it, factory-reset mode wasn't possible at all, only download mode could be started up. Tried with various methods of Odin3 on multiple ROMS, to no avail, until I read your short reply. BAM! (As you put it...)
Thanks a bunch, mate!
I have a similar issue with my sm n900. Lost my imei and baseband, i needed to flash a custom rom to get my baseband before working on the imei, after flashing via odin phone boots to samsung logo then goes blank. And recovery says E failed to mount efs . But i need to use adb on my pc. So how can i possibly enabe usb debugging in order for adb to find my device?
Flashing a stock ROM from sammobile.com via Odin does not require USB debugging. Flashing a stock ROM will flash everything, including modem, bootloader, and recovery.
My N900 Bricked

no Luck at all phone is not starting need a Unbrick or help me how to get it sorted

Do you have any idea?
:crying:
I had the same problem with this device... I had to flash stock rom with odin.
Just install kies and open it. Then reinstall usb driver through kies and then try flashing stock rom with odin, it will surely work. So good luck with that.
updating via ota isnt much good follow kies or stores
did you fix it? if yes how? I have the same problem
The best thing about samsung is Samsung Kies. There is a emergency firmware recover or something of that kind, I dont remember the name. Just install it and connect your device to it. It will try to recover your phone
go to a mobile center
Hello!I need urgent help.I tried to install TWRP on my friend's phone using an app called Rashr. After it is installed it says that I need to reboot my device. So I did that. After rebooting it went straight to Download mode.It just stuck there.I have tried everything, from using odin (It won't detect my friend's phone),to using ADB (It also won't detect my friend's).I really has to fix his phone ASAP.Thanks!
(Note #1: Sorry for my terrible English )
(Note #2:I have used ADB before to fix my phone (Core Prime) when it was stuck in bootloop)
There's no way to get it working without Odin.
So try everything you can find online to make the PC detect the phone.
After that you should try flashing a bootloader (the same one that's already on the phone if possible). I'm almost certain that it will make the phone boot.
And then you can also proceed to flash the recovery with Odin.
And maybe this a silly question, but did you install the Samsung USB drivers?
Download the latest stock ROM from sammobile. Use the original Samsung USB cable and a USB 2.0 to flash the phone.
I like using Odin 3.07 as it has always been very stable for me: https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=...168421&usg=AFQjCNEdxqAS5QWImOPDJboTA_V3D5S9eA
Stock gt-i9500 firmware here: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-I9500/
Get USB phone drivers from here: https://www.xda-developers.com/where-to-download-android-usb-drivers/
so about two weeks ago my phone failed in odin since then it doesnt get detected on the pc... i tried literally everything i used different pc's,different cables, reinstalled drivers everything and still not detected so what can i do i went to samsung here in egypt said he couldnt fix it because the device is not from egypt and they are not familiar with it *doesnt make sense tbh* so what can i do now? and is there anyway i can flash through sd card any ota update??

Charge your phone for some time and see if it turns on and if it does go to download mode or emergency recovery screen is download mode too and try the following steps
1. While your phone is on the Emergency Recovery Screen or download mode, connect it to the computer.
2. Open Odin and load all the firmware files. Download the original firmware file
3. You will find that Odin has already detected your phone.
4. The options checked in Odin should be F.Reset.Time and Auto-Reboot.
5. After making all the preparations, click on the “Start” button in Odin.
6. Let the firmware flashing end. Once done, disconnect the phone and let it turn on. You will be out of the Emergency Recovery/Download mode Screen now.

Which firmware did you attempt to flash? For your device only 3 firmwares will work, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan. It's not a Multi-CSC device so if you attempted flashing the Egypt firmware (Exynos) you could be SOL.

I had a device - laptop connectivity issue on my SM-G9750. I tried updated drivers, different cables and adapters. Strangely enough it wasn't until I updated Windows 10 that the problem was solved. If you haven't done so you might give this a shot.

This! + Unplug laptop & remove battery after update. Replace battery, plug in, go to Odin afterwards
History:
I have a samsung tab S6 lite LTE version. The tablet freezed out of nowhere when I was working and restarted but stuck in bootloader. After a while, and after removing the sd card, the tablet functioned properly. The tablet had more 80% of battery charge.
I thought the new update might fix the issue. I installed the update. it restarted and stuck in bootloader again. Power and Volume Down buttons will restart the tab, but it never went past the bootloop.
Left it for 12 hours without charging, and then the tablet went into recovery mode. I wiped the cache and when figuring out the other options in recovery it switched off and did nothing. When connected to a charger, a circle with lighting icon showed up. No combination of buttons worked.
Took it to the service center, and was told the motherboard needs to be replaced. I knew it was a software problem so I came home without replacing the motherboard.
I put the tablet on charge for a while and pressed volume up and down button and connected it to the computer. The tablet went into download mode. I immediately downloaded Odin and stock firmware and tried to flash only the BL file to the tablet. It failed few times, maybe because of faulty cable. I used another working cable and tried to flash the full firmware and the tablet disconnected again from the pc.
But now the tablet showed "an error occured while updating and use smart switch for emergency recovery". Smart switch on pc did not detect the tablet, but Odin did. The device manager detected the device as samsung mobile usb composite device. I used a new usb cable and flashed the stock firmware using Odin. The process was success but the tablet died.
It does nothing when connected to a charger or pc. No display and no buttons worked.
I opened the tablet by removing the display, and disconnected the battery physically. But nothing happened.
I tried several times to connect to pc, and for once it was detected by the pc.
This time I flashed the stock firmware using odin with nand erase and repartition. extracted the pit from csc file and added it to Odin.
The flash was a success but the tablet remains unresponsive. I checked the display to see if I had cracked or damaged it while opening, but it is good.
Now Sometimes, the tablet gets detected by pc as samsung mobile usb composite device and I could even flash the firmware with success. But the tablet displays nothing and is unresponsive.
Can Anybody advice What I can do now?
PS. I used the correct firmware meant for s6 lite LTE version every time I flashed.
Disconnect devices from PC USB port & uninstall official Samsung USB drivers. Reboot & re-install drivers. Connect to another USB port preferably at the rear PC.
Flashed latest Android 10 instead of the latest Android 11 stock firmware (AP *super.img.tar file ONLY) using Odin (I used official Odin3_v3.14.4) with Auto-Reboot, Nand Erase and Re-Partition. Input *.pit file. Flashing process might take 'years' but be patient until it ended & auto boot up successfully. Try another USB port if it failed. Therafter, flash the rest of stock WITHOUT Nand Erase & ONLY Re-Partition, Auto Reboot & F. Reset Time.
Once it successfully got flashed & auto reboot, wait patiently as it might also take a longer time than normal to boot up. Charge the device to optimal. Done!
Optional (Remove Knox Guard)
Connect to the internet. Login to your Google & Samsung account to update everything & reboot upon further updates. Thereafter, boot to Download Mode & flashed AP (Magisk Patched *boot.img, blank *vbmeta.img & patched *vbmeta_samsung.img) + BL (Blank *vbmeta.img) WITHOUT Nand Erase & Re-Partition. After successful boot up, reboot back to Download Mode & ensure there's no 'KG State' on the list before deleting('root delete' not ADB) Knox Guard or app named Payment Service as in Android 10.
Thanks. I will try.
