Hi. Built quality has just disappointed me.
I usually take good care of all my gadgets. Recently my note 10.1 2014 had a fall slow motion fall....the result...the outer rim deformed and now it squeaks every time I hold from there. Pretty annoying also becuase I dont know what will happen as ti e goes by. So I guess Samsung doesn't consider humans may gently drop their toys...
Very sad.....I would really like better material choice as my note 10.1 first edition also suffered of lots of noises and NEVER EVER fell...

Agreed, I was just wondering which cover if at all.
I have a fairly big cover on mine just for that reason, I do tend to drop things

Actually it doesn't even have to be dropped to get that. This is my second note 10.1 2014 and I returned the first one because it was squeaking on the left side, it was really annoying. After returning it I got an iPad Air because of Samsung's typical build quality issues. But after using iPad for 2 days I couldn't like it. It was really like a toy after Note. I couldn't live with a 10 inch, 600 dollars tablet that you can't even do real multitasking on. I returned it and got my second Note. Yesterday I realized there is some squeaking on the upper side now. I didn't drop it or something. I think the cause of this issue is the chrome bezels. They can get loose too easy. But what the hell this is the best tablet for me in the market right now and although I don't like this build quality issues I love almost everything about this tablet other than that after an unpleasant 2 day experience with iPad Air. I hope they deal with this build quality issues like they did with the software (the new Magazine UX). Then this tablet will be unrivaled.

Guys, these aren't ballistic missile launchers built to zero fault tolerances. They are mass produced consumer electronics that are in a lot of cases built in third world or emerging countries by workers that are paid peanuts. A 2% defect rate in consumer electronics is considered excellent. So if Samsung sells 5M N10.1-14's 100K people are going to draw the short straw and experience some type of out-of-box issue. As for Apple, get serious. Go to an iPad Air (or any Apple product) discussion forum and you'll find plenty of QC and defect posts. They aren't immune and charge prices even more premium than Samsung does.
One of the consequences of thinner lighter mobile devices is that they have smaller bezels and there's less mass to distribute the impact of a fall over. Also, no two drops or falls are ever the same; how a device fares depends on the point of impact and what material it's dropped on. I'd fully expect the N10.1-14 to be more fragile than my ex-N10.1-12 simply because of its reduced dimensions. Sure Samsung could probably have added more internal reinforcement or chosen different materials but that would have added weight and/or bulk. The thinness, trimness, and lightness of the N10.1-14 was its second most attractive feature to me after its display. So, personally, I'm willing (and assumed so beforehand) to except the trade-off and am extra careful in handling it. BTW, I've dropped mine twice (on carpet) and it's no worse for wear.
Tbh i would say a cracked screen is large damage but yeah what Barry said, no device is immune from damage unfortunatly. Still not nice hearing youve damaged your note a little - hopefully it doesnt get any worse.

I'm not sure we'll get the 32gb model. I hope we do. 16gb just isnt enough.
That and the battery are my only concerns.

Lack of stereo speakers is one of my major concern apart from the two issues mentioned by your. There is confusion over stereo speakers. Specs sheets posted on various website say its got stereo whereas none of the review I came across so far confirms that its got stereo. Thats big let for me.

It has two front facing speakers. The bottom one is the main speaker, its from the same company whose speakers are in the HTC one m8 but its a newer model and has twice the power supply and output volume with great clarity. The upper one is an earpiece but according to some sites it also is an speaker, which i highly doubt cause anandtech went pretty into details about the speakers and they mentioned only one loud speaker and that's the bottom one.
Most of this data is from various reviews and preview articles i have read from sites like the verge, phonearena, anandtech (Most of the data is from here and I 99% trust their accuracy).
The price should be listed soon I suppose,
http://www.flipkart.com/moto-x-2nd-...b_11&ref=33496eda-995f-450f-b469-f99f2119f82f
Looks like it'll be just the 16gb variant
Price should be 30-32k. It's usually exactly the same as the US price.
Price announced.
32k for the Black. 34k for Bamboo and Leather options.
16gb model only.
Was waiting for this. but I'll pass on it.

So I got mine today.
Must admit, I did not have high expectations of the device, but so far, I am as impressed as I was with last years Moto X if not more. Fantastic feel in hand. Light.
Had little talk with Motorola India. There was confusion about the model number. On their site till yesterday, they were showing the LTE bands of 2, 4, 5, 12, 17, 25, 26, 41. Indian model is also named as XT1092 so the these bands were correct according to spec sheet. But that meant it did not have support for 1800Mhz LTE Band.
And Motorola is advertising it as 4G device on Flipkart.
After contacting them on twitter, they changed the bands on Motorola India to 1, 3, 7, 8, 20 which is XT1093/1094. But Indian version is indeed labelled XT1092. But FCC ID matches that of XT1093/94 which supports LTE bands 1, 3, 7, 8, 20.
So this phone will not work on current Airtel LTE network in 4 cities which work on 2300Mhz TDD LTE band. But will work on LTE networks which are launching on 1800Mhz band soon. Just FYI.

One question, which back cover did you buy ? If its black plastic then I want to know what kind of plastic is there at the back? Is it typical hard plastic or rubberized., soft touch plastic ?

I went for normal black back version. I did not want white as the sensors are visible on the white front which makes it look little ugly. And did not opt for leather due to the fact that it makes phone little thicker and weather will wear out over time. Everyone who was at the launch events suggested that leather back models look beat and warn out.
If there was an option for black front and walnut back, I would have gone for that. But with the options available now, black is best looking IMHO.

I have Nexus 5, HTC One M8 in addition to older Moto X and this new Moto X. The touch response is as flawless as to be expected. After first boot and setup, just restart device once and it is all buttery smooth. I actually prefer using this screen over Nexus 5 due to the chamfered edge. Fingers glide very nicely thanks to that.
Another note, if you are thinking of buying the scratch guard, there is only 1 in stock on ebay which is scratch guard branded one. I got this, and it has a problem which is common to phones with chamfered edge screens. The company cut the scratch guard to exact size of display. So the edges of the scratch guard do not stick to the screen thanks to the slight curve on the glass. So keep this in mind. I think it will take some time before screen protector manufacturers come out with properly fitting screen protector for Moto X.

I want to hear more onto the plastic back. What kind of material is it? Is it hard or soft touch plastic? Any kind of fine texture on the back plastic or just ordinary feel? Please post some closeup photos.

Do you really belive there must be some alternative of MotoX ??
No man, unfortunately here is no alternative of it yet. Yeah, there are other phones but those are ordinary in front of Moto X.
And this is how the normal black looks.
Back is plastic, but slightly rubbery, grippy feeling. Nice grip. And even though people don't like the look of new dimple in pic, it actually helps. Nice and firm finger grip there.

hey bro, i have important question, when i saw it on videos i thought, the screen gorilla glass is rounded and curved, like iphone 6, but when i saw your high resolution pic, i noticed there is 2 layer, one is screen gorilla glass as little bit curved joined with below plastic line,
so my main question is, is that plastic or another glass? that can get off finish very fast. ?
i also request you to,show me one more high resolution pic, from Bezel
thanks in advance bro and congrats for new phone...

Will take more pictures tomorrow. Camera battery is down and charging at the moment after whole day of shooting for my work today.
But yes, as you can see there is slight step at the edge of the screen. It actually feels nice It looks like Motorola has done this to protect the glass in case phone hits the floor at the edges which usually results in screen chipping or shattering at that corner on curved edge screens like this Moto X.
Apple went right to the edge, Moto X stops less than half a millimetre shy of the edge and then there is this step which you can see in the picture above resulting in rather unique look. I am surprised most reviews did not stress on this point.
does moto x 2014 support 4g in india and also how is the camera ?
I really love this phone but i find really hard one hand operation comparing to my old Samsung S4...
Honor 7 is 1000 times better device starting from built quality but i'm finding 5.2 inches and alluminium really hard to use with one hand...
Did you find improvments with a silicon or plastic case?
I hope so cause if not i can't really use as a real smartphone...

I tried but is not the size of the screen the problem but the size of the phone i have to handle with the full hand to mantain a safe grip but after is not so confortable to write with the thumb...
I hope with a cover i will be able to grip safely with less hand having the thumb movement more free...
i think also square shape doesn't help at all...Round corners is a better choiche cause you can push more on your palm of hand...
Unluckily there are no options between 2015 flagships smartphones with good ergonomy...
The onlyone is S6 but it has a terrible battery life no sd slot and i really hate Amoleds fake colors...
To be honest Honor 7 screen is clearly the best !!!

I found that Bestgear now has the K9 as well (it look like a Gear S2) with quite similar price and specs with K8 mini.
Did anyone buy this model yet and can it work with K8 mini rom?
I now considering between K9, K8 and K8 mini.
I prefer K8 as it look more sporty and it have 3 button (is that all real???), I think it will be easier to config it.
However my wrist is small and I also wonder about the battery of K8 (1.4inch) comparing with K8 mini, K9 (1.3 inch)
Has anyone have any idea about that, I'm appreciate to hear
My wrist is slightly smaller than average diameter, 7.25in (18.4cm) vs the average 7.5in (19cm) wrist. The D5 (read K8 Mini) is 2.0in (5.3cm) long, this makes it the max size for a passable fit. The K8 is even bigger at 2.4in (6.0cm) which would have the ends of the lugs extending past the wrist. If the antennas were not in the band, it may work (but look bad). However the antennas are in the band which makes the K8 an average to large wrist smartwatch.
So measure your wrist diameter and width and compare. This will give you the answer you need.

There's more than enough info out on these watches to know that you will get 2G only with T-Mobile.
Anyone know where I can find a longer than standard length strap for my watch? Thanks
Search for Milanese strap on one of the Amazon sites

Dont have much time to look does this company make them for other watches?
I got a gear s2, A Michael kors dylan with a 12 mm band attachment, and A fossil q gen 4 explorist
The milanese is the name of the metal mesh that compose the band . It s a very light and resistant metal mesh ( the one used for (anti shark body suits) . It's anti sweat and really fast to release because use only a magnet to close. I xan tell you the mesure you will find is for wirst of about 24.5cm in diameter . I bought 5 , it's one of the best things I ever bought . Makes you use your watches , smart or not daily and costs really cheap. The magnet is very thight and the bracelet is always perfectly regulated if you don't relay on repetive and great wirst movement during your work. I repair computers and electronic.
I bought them from china on Amazon . To find them I searched for magnetic watch band . Look s like there s only this type that is magnetic. They produce standard dimensione of 20 22 24 18 mm ecc don't know your needs. You have to select the right one for your watch . Or else I saw that they also produce some custom ones for watches with non standard attachment. Sometimes you can search for name of the watch + magnetic + band and will find the specific one
Black on gwatch and unicorn on ticwatch E
I'm going to add another vote for a magnetic Milanese loop. I've got one for my Fossil Gen 4 Explorist HR and I love it.
