Hi all,
i got a little problem with my lg g2 d802.
the usb port is loose, it wont load or connect to my pc. only when i press the usb cable really hard into the g2's usb port it will load.
I thought "no problem" i still have my warranty, so i tried to return to stock from my custom rom and sent it in to lg support for repair.
i got it back yesterday, without repair with a little letter inside saying "no europe version HongKong, sent back without repair".
So my 2 questions are:
1. can i try to send my g2 to support again with another stock rom from my region or is my warranty gone ?
2. if i try to fix it myself, is it easier to just change the usb port connector (http://astore.amazon.de/tutopolistv0f-21/images/B00RC160QS) or should i change LG G2 D802 D805 Dock Port & Headphone Jack Assembly (http://www.repairsuniverse.com/lg-g2-d802-d805-dock-port-headphone-jack-assembly.html)
Thnx in advance
You can fix it yourself. easily. Should buy headphone jack assembly. Be careful and don't worry.
update: i did mange to repair it and i am very glad its still working

My usb port has been flaky for a while but finally gave out totally recently. It's actually loose inside the case. Over the past couple weeks my digitizer has also been going bad. I read about how you can press the power button hard to get it working again, which works but it seems only a matter of time for that thing too. Anyone got any recommendations for what I could do? I ordered an external battery charger and battery but all it accomplished was frying my old battery. :/ I might try to solder a new usb port on once I have good reason to (read: solid mango wp7 rom.) but if my digitizer is done it's not really worth it. Why would pressing on the power button revive it when it's not working? I'm hoping it's just a loose cable.
Bottom line, does anyone who's had these problems (they're the two most common HD2 hardware issues afaik) have any recommendations for solutions?
Your USB port issue probably can't be fixed.. unless you can find someone who is willing to help you solder a new usb port to your motherboard (or you can do it yourself if you have enough skills)
As for your Digitizer, you can open up your hd2, and check if the digitizer plug is loose (located under the lcd). If it isn't, that means your hd2 digitizer is dead, and you should order a replacement.. (of course, please see here
I have the same issue with my Infuse. The digitiser only seems to have a problem for the four bottom buttons. They have a mind of their own. The rest of the screen is fine. My USB port is intermittant. I'll probably just take it back to the store though. Sorry I cannot help.
Hi all.
Not long ago i tried to fix some issues of weak GPS status in my DHD, and in the process of work i accidentally broke contacts of gps at all on the motherboard flex cable.
That's why i bought new motherboard flex cable from parts4repair.com.
After i receive and install this cable, it became clear that GPS is not working with new cable (GPS contacts there is fine).
There are also problems with the decrease/increase volume. Visually contacts for volume buttons on the new cable are different from the contacts on the original flex cable, which was originally installed in the phone. Photo of differences is attached.
Old cable contacts for volume:

New cable contacts for volume:
http://s09.radikal.ru/i182/1206/24/c0435b70ed2e.jpg
In total, I tried to replace cables from original to new one and back for four times and the results were the same each time:
- with the original cable functions of Gps and volume work fine (GPS is working when i connect simple conductor to the place of GPS contacts on the motherboard flex cable instead of broken ones),
- with the new cable (from parts4repair) these functions do not work at all (even when i connect conductor to the GPS contacs).
Thats why I concluded that the new cable has issues.
Is here anyone who knows this sphere? How to define exactly is this new motherboard flex cable is broken or not?
Maybe new cable need some preparations before install.

i do sir. On your old contacts there is a silver switch as you describe a 'sphere'. using tweezers peel up the tape material carefull keeping it intact, and then take that tape and silver dome and place it over your new contacts (that is the actual mechanical switch that you are transferring). That should fix your volume problem

thanks for your reply.
Yes maybe i can fix volume issue with that solution, but that is not the main problem.
Most of all I am interested in fixing the GPS problem.
And in addition i searched for photos of these flex cable in different stores, and on the photos in other stores that cable has silver switches on volume contacts. But my new cable has not.
For example http://www.cprshops.com/htc-desire-hd-motherboard-flex-cable-p-1070.html .

ya, ive no idea why yours didnt come with the switches already attached. unless maybe they were in the box still, woulda been a small tiny piece of cardboard.
as far as gps, id be willing to blame faulty cable entirely

Me too.
I contact the store via "Return Request", and first of all they told maybe i fix cable not well and asked to fix it again and tell them a result.
In first mail i send them a photo i of my cable and their engineer told, that cable looks fine.
And now i answer them that i made many attempts to fix cable, but the result is zero. -_-
Now waiting for their reply.
A fall of about just a foot cracked the glass on my G2. It wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't also destroyed the digitizer, leaving on a small part of the screen usable. The bought the phone in February, so I was wondering if the LG warranty would cover the damage. If not, I could try to fix it myself. ETrade Supply does not have a screen listed for the LS980, but they do have one for the D800 (unfortunately currently out of stock): http://www.etradesupply.com/lg-g2-d800-digitizer-touch-screen-black-with-lg-logo.html
Should this work with the LS980?
Also, does anyone know of a way that I can control the phone from my pc over usb, probably using adb. I would like to be able to at least backup the phone, but I can't even get past the pattern lock. Would it work to get a USB OTG cable and connect a mouse?
I practically can't get my phone to detect theirs a computer connected to it at all. I've tried cleaning the usb port a few times and my pc detected it but it only read as "Unknown Device" and nothing from their and after awhile it stops doing that little detection. SO what can i do other than replace the usb/headphone jack piece? is their a way to enter fastboot and do that unbrick instead?
The replacement USB is only around $14, and it's an easy fix, take the back off, take off the black plastic cover on the top, has about 9 screws I believe? The bottom has to be removed as well, that has 6 screws, once you take those off, you unhook the LCD and the motherboard from the old USB/Power/Volume dongle, and replace it.
That being said, it's still time consuming, and tedious, but it is basically easy.
I would suggest to try another cable, and to try another PC as well, there was a time where my motherboard on my PC wouldn't detect my LG phones, but my wifes would, it's resolved now, but needless to say it was a pain .
Well, at least that makes sense now, i will try when i get the money and i've tried connected different cables and pcs and its the same result. not even linux will detect anything. But thank you for the help so far
Hi guys, today my lg g2 d802 starting to have a problem with headphone jack...
I always have the headphone icon on status bar, and the result is that my phone believe that headphone are always insert.
I thought it was a software problem, so I wipe everything also system and reinstall cm. but nothing change.
I think is an hardware problem.
I don't want to spend much money, i see many ebay seller that have a replacement flex (that include speaker, usb and headphone) for lg g2 d800, 801, 803, 805 and vs980 that are cheap but if I search for 802 the price grow up very high...
For what I see the flex is the same.
I try to open my g2 and on my flex is written 802 and 805...
I don't know what to do, is out of RMA of course, can I buy an headphone repleacement for d805 or vs980? and use it on my 802?
or I have to trash it?
I've also try some app like soundabout, and similar, to disable headphone jack but nothing works
Thanks for your help in advice

You may not use the VS980 one, has different antenna module (which is in part bound to the flex).
That's because the VS980 and LS980 are made for CDMA networks, not for GSM ones. Also, the D800/801/803 one is not compatble (i don't know why about this, there are no "big" differences in the module, but it's marked as such )
You may get the one for D802/805, which does not cost THAT much more, like this one: http://goo.gl/9rUUx6
For 15$ it's worth a try, but care about breaking it, ****'s so fragile!

thank you (sono italiano anche io comunque)
First resoult on ebay show me replacement for 50€!
by the way, there is no other way to at least temporary disable jack? it coudn't be software right? I could try to install stock rom but I think it's not worth...
I have the same problem like about 1month.
I use soundabout aps.it's work for me.
Just select the phone audio & media audio to speaker.
