Hi everyone,
I lost my Nexus 7 on a plane over the weekend - own stupid fault..sucks!
I hadn't installed a tracking or security app on it. I was logged into my google, amazon, and zinio accounts on the device so was worried about access to my accounts. I've since changed my passwords for all my accounts which has given me some reassurance. A few questions:
Is what I've done enough?
Are there any other measures I should take? (can't install cerebrus remotely as I've changed my google password already)
Is there any way of dis-associating the nexus 7 from my google account from my end?
Thanks in advance for your advice.
1:
I am not sure for Amazon and the likes but I know that for the Google account changing the password does the job.
Everything Googleaccount will ask for the password when it's started now, I do think it similar to the other services.
2:
Report it stolen / lost with it's serial number.
3:
Don't think so.

OK. This is weird as I can't find any sort of precedent but randomly while I'm doing stuff my nexus 7 will ask to complete an action with yahoo mail, gmail, or IMO messenger. On a whim I clicked gmail and it said it wanted to send a bug report with a text file and a screenshot of what I was doing to my own email address.
What is this and how can I clear it from automatically opening gmail at random when I'm in the middle of a game or a movie?
Running stock 4.2.1 rooted.
What kernel are you on?

Are you using nova launcher or something? Most launchers have an option to send bug reports
same
I'm getting the same thing, but it wants to sent it to my alternate email ([email protected]). Mine is being activated by the volume rocket somehow.

Having same issue. Wanted to send it to my gfs Facebook email from my email. Nexus 7 WiFi running rooted jdq39 rooted with Wugs toolkit. It also gave me the option to open WiFi direct instead of gmail. Side note Google chrome has a prompt to allow automatically sending usage statistics and crash reports in my browser. I will allow after posting.
So i own a S3 on sprint and a Nexus 7 2013 wifi. My friend runs a S5 on verizon and he runs it stock because he doesnt really know much about android development. Unfortunately, im in Japan atm so i cant go see him to verify this my self, but he told me that the email app he uses which comes with his S5 doesn't allow Gmail accounts to be tied to it and it forces him to use Gmail for his gmail account while using the email app for his exchange accounts for work.
Is this because Verizon has its own variant of the google Email app or is it something else entirely? I know that the normal google email app should be able to run both exchange accounts and gmail accounts as i use it my self on both my S3 and my Nexus 7. Is there some way to remove this verizon email app and replace it with the google email app with out rooting if possible?
Thanks.
Edit: Hell the icons are even different, his is a Red @ sign on an envelope where as mine is a yellow one that looks like the gmail app's icon.
so i have been trying the 6p on google fi while keeping my verizon note until i decide what to do. i recently setup a new google account on my 6p different from my main one on my note. forgot the PW on the new account and am having trouble resetting it, any way to find it in the system files until i resolve the issue with google?

Nope, you'll have to contact the mothership.
Note that currently Google Apps / GSuite / Google for work accounts cannot use Google Assistant.
This is same issue as using those accounts with Google Assistant in Allo as well as creating Play Music family plans.
I don't know if that will be changed when/after the pixel is released, but for now if you have one of these accounts you can't even use the neatest new feature on the phone...

How so? I have a gapps account, and have had no issues using google assistant in allo.
That's funny... No one else can. There are massive threads on Google's forums about it, and it was confirmed by the product teams...

I see. Actually they can run assistant, but it has no access to personal information. I.e. "what's on my agenda today" will fail.
That's a shame. I may have to set up a regular Google account for everything that isn't email related just to get this to work properly.
Thank you for clarifying. Yes, I mean (but didn't say) that Google Assistant can't access email, calendar, etc on GSuite accounts. It still works fine for Google searches.
I should have been more clear in my wording!!
I have a regular Gmail account, too. Hadnto do that to setup a family play music account (annoying)... I'll wait and see if it is worth forwarding my email to there it not.
