Sony Action-Cam Firmware-Port - Hardware Hacking General

I would like to hear the opinion from someone who is well versed in this topic. I think this forum is the right place for my following Question.
Recently I noticed that the hardware of Sonys Top Model "X1000v" is pretty much the same as the cheaper one "AS200v". Would it be possible to make some kind of a firmware-port of the X1000v to the as200v? And if yes, would it be very hard?
Thank you
-Julian

Is Athena as a good phone? Re-polled.

The reason for this repoll is obvious. As suggested by other posters in a previous similar thread widely thought to be biased, misleading, and deceitful, this poll is meant to get a better picture on how happy folks are with using Athena to make phone related call, taking into accounts its size, the signal reception strenth, the possibility of using bluetooth headset, the contact data maintenance features, the voice calling ability, the video call ability, the VOIP call ability, the ability to use a single SIM for phone as well as data on one single device, and any other phone related considerations you think are relevant.
The answers are:
A. Outstanding
B. Above Average
C. Average
D. Below Average
E. Fail.
Thank you for your vote.
You're fast, mate! . Like I said, I use LG Style I, so the size does'nt really matter. No question it is one of the best phones I have.
I'm still casting the same vote, which is above average.
you cant re write history to suit your sad agendas!
you ALL VOTED in the original poll and because you didnt like the results you are now re polling to try and get the results you want!
How deceitful and sad is that
QUOTE:eaglesteve My okay really means it may not be the best phone in the world, but it's still very good. I read post 1 and interpret the meaning differntly from spacecat. Anyway, why not you start a new poll?
I would love to know what kind of deluded person thinks that OKAY = VERY GOOD!
OKAY= OKAY
VERY GOOD = VERY GOOD
OKAY to anyone who is sane and rational means average neither good nor bad.
Eagle Steve Poll ONLY below
If your missus said you were an OKAY SHAG would you think that you were
1. A Great Lover
2.An Average Lover, pleasant enough but not mindlblowing in any sense
3. Crap
I reckon old eagle is pretty average and has to convince himself that this means VERY GOOD!
Enough pissing contest and argument on your thread already. Your post needs no response. Just let the voters tell us their own meaning of okay. For me it means satisfactory and good. For you it may mean not bad but also not good at all. Let the people decide, okay?

Why did YOU VOTE in a poll YOU thought was deceitful? That makes YOU a FOOL doesnt it?

spacecat.. get a life. athenalover: who the hell cares what others thinks about the Athena?!? The immense insight and information thats available to us on this forum helps everyone to get their hands on the gear that suits their purpose the best, and to get it working the way it should from the beginning!
That does not include these kinds of threads though.. come on guys read a page on the xda-wiki and learn something for Christs sake ;-)

I think this thread is a bit redundant, and your attempt at being unbiased fails on the basis that the only negative you mention in your salutation is 'its size' - which does not really hold sway against the myriad positve features you then go on to describe. The fact that your name is Athenalover doesn't help either.
Either way I think the consensus has been reached: whether or not the questions in the Spacecat's poll were leading the points brought up in the thread more than answered what needed to be answered. Let's NOT have a recount. Let's just accept that for some people the phone is too big and for some it's fine. Whether of not you choose to wear the Athena in a holster, in your pocket, with a bluetooth headset, wired headset or in a bumbag the fact is it's your property and you're obviously happy using it. I found it a bit big so I got something a bit smaller.
Athenalover, don't try to be a martyr. The poll was never going anywhere anyway: it's on an Athena forum for God's sake so the only people who will be watching the forum will be A) people who own an Athena and B)people who owned one and got rid of it. The people who got rid of it probably found it too big so will argue vehemently that it's too big; the people who still own one and enjoy it obviously DON'T find it too big and will argue vehemently that it's not too big if you use it like they do.
With all due respect this thread seems headed for no-where
like I said
Seems history has been re-written, and this poll shows its just fine or better for most people.

I don't deny that I just love this device. I hope you allow me that freedom
My post #1 has only listed examples of phone related features, but also said that you should take into account anything else that you consider are relevant at the end of my sentense. Can't you read?
If it seems headed for no-where, you must be blind. I think it gives those people who voted okay (the meaning of which is under dispute) a chance to tell us what their intention is, rather than taking all the bull**** interpretation from you and spacecat.
The only "consensus" is between you and spacecat. Nobody else is willing to accept the crap interpretation of result he claims the poll shows.
The only negative you can think of is the size and the absurd claim that it can only be carried with a back pack, and your adsurd claim that bluetooth is not practical. If you do not know how to properly use a device, don't **** on it, but examine your own self and attitude.

lol Guess what ? Don't agree. =P I for one voted AND THEN read the posts. And yes, the questions really are, this time around, in no way tendencious.
And well, one can only observe that the votes seem to go a very different way...
Even if this thread doesn't turn into a pugila, I say let's see where it goes.
For Spacecat and Leoni especially, I would like to show you that Athena is not in the same category of portability as eee PC. It is no difference carrying this or a smaller phone.
See this thread

As some other users said I own the LG Style-i so I carry my Athena hanging in my belt... so the size is not a problem for me neither.
In this condition I consider athena Above the Average as phone.

if you don't like his interpretation don't get wound up about it. I made my points quite eloquently, i am fair in my points, being that i owned an athena and don't have a reason to either hate it or love it. To say that it is absurd to find bluetooth inconvenient is a bit of a sweeping statement since some people prefer to use a handset and not have microwaves flowing through their heads all day. I didn't know if i'd like the size of the athena and i was perfectly aware of its features however it was a contract upgrade and cost very little so i thought i'd like to try it. I only carried it in a bag when i had a bluetooth keyboard, often i would carry it in my pocket though at all times i was aware of it and concerned about breaking the screen. Despite this i happen to prefer using a bag to a holster given the option.. Please don't compare me with other people just because i'm not 100 percent in the athena fan club, i make fair assessments based on my personal experience, you however seem like an illiterate and narrow-minded wally (forgive me if i am mistaken). Hopefully some of the contributors to this thread have a little more common sense and fair mindedness. If they don't then what's the point of this poll and this thread generally?

it is very hard for you to make conclusion by making a question like that, look at the complaints and the positive comments in the forums, you won't be able to make a conclusion just like that. Some complaints are very much related to the person who complaint with personal feelings, nothing to do much with the device, that's how I find it, lots of complaints I found in the forums are actually just wasting time to listen at.
The only thing I can judge is by looking at the spec sheet of the phone, which the HD2 looks like the best ever phone ever made in this planet for me, and by seeing reviews from establish sites, all reviewers are giving really positive comments.

yup you're catching on fast most of the complaints are extremely personal..
complaints being the wrong word there, but it will do..
This being the interweb it's obviously true because one person said so
I can see two issues with the HD2
calibration is off, so typing is erratic from the outset. this can be corrected.
3D performance isn't as good as we'd hoped (compared to same chipset devices)
both of these should be corrected in the next rom..
oh and it would be nice if they'd turned on cleartype by default. .
My review of the HD2 will be up on htcpedia next week.
I was offered a review machine yesterday, obviously too late as I've bought one

[Q] Does one have to be an expert?

I mean no disrespect by asking why no one here will answer a newbies questions? I know that my 2 question threads probably sounded pretty dumb to a lot of members who seem pretty brilliant, but a person has to start somewhere. I personally like to learn from experts, which is why I joined this forum. I'm sorry I'm not an expert yet, but with a little bit of your time and patience, maybe I could be, too. I used to sell cell phones and knew a fair amount at the time, but years have gone by that I didn't even have a cell phone and I didn't keep up with the technology. When I decided to get a cell phone again, after much research, and stumbling across this forum, I fell
in love with the Defy. I would really like to learn to do all this stuff that you guys do, but apparently I got a bad one, I don't know for sure because I didn't get an answer from one single person. I finally reluctantly returned the phone last night, before it was too late. I still don't want to give up, so I ordered a new one. If I have the same problem of it connecting to internet, I guess I'm giving up if no one will help. Are newbies not welcome here? Again, I'm not trying to be rude or disrespectful...but is this forum strictly for experts? beginners not welcome? If it is, I apologize for intruding!

I think that anyone is willing to help, but most times everything you want to know has already been asked. The best thing to do is Google your issue, add xda on the end of your question, and chances are there's an answer there. It's when folks ask the same question that's between asked and answered ad nauseam, and its obvious that the poster didn't take the time to do any research on their own. I sincerely believe that anyone in here would help someone that had a question that hasn't been solved yet, and the person did all the research they could but were just so overwhelmed they can't fix it. My advice is to read, read, and read some more. Then if you still can't find what you need, ask one of the experts. They are the best there is, and have helped me tremendously. Good luck!

Thanks for answering. I was looking and reading under the motorola defy section, not the whole website. I was thinking the problem was specific to this phone. I guess I'll keep looking- it'd be great if I had more time to devote to this quest. Thanks anyway.
AW: [Q] Does one have to be an expert?
the other part is, that most oft the experts and discussions here about MB525, 526 ... an other reason why it could be difficult to get answered for XT555 ...

Good Primer Thread on Using Odin/Rooting/Flashing/Etc on Samsung Phones

Specifically pertaining to the S4, but probably the galaxy series in general as well. I'm coming from my first android phone being a motorola atrix, so the steps and software is slightly different. Just picked up the 32gb ATT S4 last night and want to make sure I grab the right tools and understand how they work. Just looking for the right direction to look for a good Samsung flashing/rooting/modding/Odin 101 thread or explanation, the dev thread can get pretty overwhelming on information at times if you don't already have a decent understanding.
Thanks

Hi,
Check THIS
Only glanced over it quickly since I am at work, but that looks like exactly what I was hoping for, thank you.

Take a look at this iwatch clone seems to be great

http://www.chinaecarts.com/apple-wa...re-mt6582-1gb-ram-16gb-rom-15inch-p-7703.html
seems to be great why?
a little more info in your TS would be nice, otherwise posting this is meaningless
Probably spam...
I'm done with all IWatch clones... I have a pretty nice one here, but when I tried to order a larger quantity from SHEN ZHEN EYANG TECHNOLOGY CO.,LTD, they suddenly cut all communication... So I'm done with clones of the Apple Watch, most of these companies don't know what they're doing imo...

I think it is great for its attributes (i'm sorry i don't speak engligh so well and i use this word because i don't know the right one) because after reading details of this smartwatch in the description in my opinion it is better than the others that i saw (not for the design but for screen resolution, RAM and the others attributes).
i' m sorry what dies TS mean?
I didn't want to spam. I'm just sharing on this thread what i'm finding during my search of the perfect smartwatch for me. I'm very sorry if you think that i want to spam. It isn't my aim
TS = Topic Start, a topic start normally contains info on a watch, pics, specifications
Specs look good. Can anyone confirm that this has quad core, 1gb/16gb? Anyone tried to root & flash?
Google play support?
