Hello every one, I was wondering if it is possible to broadcast a wifi hotspot from a G1? See my situation is that I can connect to a hot spot from my family room but my computer in my room can't. I would like to connect to the hotspot from my g1 and then some how broadcast the signal so my pc can get internet.
I can't find any info on google except tether and reverse. I think this is more like repeating.

I have searched the web and cannot find anything that works. I have the a500 and go to Penn State. My EVO 4G connects with the free wifi there with no problem but my tablet will not work.
My tablet will connect but the indicator on the bottom right that is normally blue will be gray. It will have both up and down arrows blinking but it stays gray and says it is connected.
I rooted my tablet and tried the adhoc patch but that didn't do anything to help. I have no problem connecting at home. I am currently using my evo as a wifi tether for the tablet while at school but it kills my phones battery. Is there anything else I can try?

First go into your wifi settings and forget the network settings - then try again.
If that does not work - contact the support people for the network you are trying to connect to.
Hi everybody.
Really like the x800. I do have a problem though (apart from the battery drain) and that is, the hotspot.
It connects perfectly with my tablet and shows a stable connection BUT it doesn't allow internet access to any devices connected to it.
I'm in the UK and my carrier is Three. I have a Hotspot allowance of >12GB/month and I really want to use it. I have tried the sim in an old Samsung and I had Internet access so I think it is something to do with the X800 OR the apps I have installed messing things up. I'm really loathe to reset the phone as I've got it just how I like it.
Has any one else had a problem with the Hotspot?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
A reply saying they don't have a problem with the Hotspot would also be helpful.

I have a Eincar head unit and it was working perfectly fine. Yesterday I turned it on and I can't connect to the internet. It says it's connected to my wifi hotspot but no internet. I've tried everything and still nothing. It's not my hotspot because I'm within reach of my home wifi network and I still get no internet. Also do you know of any modded firmware I could use on my unit?

New scenario
Today when I went to turn on the EINCR 10" display unit in my other car I have the same thing, it says "connected no internet". What are the odds it happens to 2 different radios and nothing has changed on my hotspot or router.
It's weird that I can download from the play store and use Pandora.
Anybody else experience this?

My WiFi icon is orange but it seems that I am connecting to the internet. Anyone, any ideas what's going on?

Have you found out what to do?
Why not connect via Bluetooth to internet? Is for me the better approach.
Hi after much reading and searching I have still not come up with a proper answer and was wondering if anybody here may be able to help me? My issue is WiFi connection on my xtrons headunit (probably been discussed a million times) I have been able to use WiFi both with 4G google and tethered to iPhone but this will only work maybe 1/100 times, now the unit will show many networks but neither my phone or dongle?? So therefore I cannot connect?
When my networks are shown it just cycles between connecting and authenticating and will not connect.
If I reboot everything it may connect once but then back to same problem. Such a shame as the unit is best used with full internet connection. As I say when it has connected it has been great but only works for short period then will show networks but will not connect. Any help would be amazing. Thanks in advance.
