Thanks in advance

I think all of these are made in China , the only way you can get an original is to buy a broken phone and salvage from it or order direct from Samsung Service centers
thanks xsenman. Would Samsung send me a replace for the screen if I call or write them? These chinese LCD are good for replacement?

as long as you are willing to pay their price, samsung should/would supply spare parts in their service centers ..need to quote their part number or visit them personally ...china parts will be china parts..but will never be the original as samsung would never supply parts in this manner .
on the other-hand china parts should work too

Not sure about the others. But the phone seems like not able to get opened up as easy as unscrewing the screw. Probably will leave some scratches or damage to the digitizer etc. Is the price differ that much?
PS: What about IMEI number?? If you are buying demo unit I don't think you will have any valid IMEI from the demo phone.

He could just use one from an old phone (or maybe his carrier doesn't care about phones without IMEI-numbers).

If you have the demo units that had been used during launch then your going to need more then a Mobo. The screens don't actually work so you'll need one of those. Also a battery. Then the Mobo. Working Spen, because the demo units don't actually work. Then you need to get the equipment to flash a IMEI if the Mobo doesn't have one. Just at the price of Mobo replacements your better off buying a real Note 4 straight up.
ok I want to do that because I already did with an S5 I purchase a demo unit then just replaced the motherboard with another that I have, and now I have a fully functional galasy S5, but I don´t know if it is the same with a note 4 by the way the demo unit of the galaxy S5 is the g900x model and use it with a g900h motherboard

this is really old and all, but:
i opened a note 4 live demo unit last week:
the antenna cables between the mainboard and the bottom/usb PCB are missing including the connectors on the boards(s),
so it would appear that you at least need to add those cables, and either solder the connectors on the bottom pcb (or replace the whole bottom pcb, which is likely easier).
and beyond that, i cannot tell if the actual antennas are maybe missing too.
(and maybe one of the two cables is for wifi, which could explain that wifi is rather weak on my note4)
I believe that demo units are actually fully functional units of the retail product. The only difference is that the OS has been customized so it contain additional retail demo bloatware.
i own three note4 demo units (off ebay) and used them for years, with wifi tethering to a low-end phone for internet.
here is a picture of a disassembled note4 demo unit (right/top) compared to a regular (gsm) unit (bottom/left).
imgur.com/a/A1WKlJK
please observe the missing cables and unpopulated pcb connectors.
i dont't know about the other radio hardware.
i've had an offer from somebody who can supposedly turn a demo unit into a functional phone with a software fix, but the missing cable speaks against that.
otherwise the main difference is that demo units have the "samsung retail mode" app installed, which does all kinds of annoying things, and blocks any removal of itself through regular means (unless you know it's password), but getting rid of it is rather trivial, because the bootloader of the demo units (that i had) is not locked. you can just flash a new rom (AND wipe userdata)... or even just a custom recovery, and delete the retail-mode app from the system through the recovery.
but even then, no cellular radio.
and no gps(!), supposedly because gps is handled by the same chip.
Hi guys, I'm new to XDA Developers. I've ordered a Live Demo Unit version of Note 4 on Ebay for a great price. Long story short, it came in today and I had confirmed with the seller before purchasing that it works like a regular note 4 minus the cellular (which it does not) since all it does is play a demo video on repeat, my photos and apps keep getting deleted as well as resetting certain functions such as brightness etc. killing the battery very quickly. It is the n910x software version & device. I was wondering if I should return to seller or if there was a way of flashing it to use stock software and have it function as a regular tablet? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

flash 5.0.1 n910f stock rom through odin..
it works fine and of course no sim services as live demo units dont have cellular antenna.
hi guys,i crash my screen on my note 3 and looking for new..i found a guy with screen from note 3 demo and wondering to buy it because i read somewhere in the past that the screen from note 3 demo blurs a little..
so im here to ask..the screen from note demo have any difference with the normal note 3 n9005? or both demo and normal have the same screen?
There where a number of demo models posts going back a good few years . Possible they may be of help .

mate, simply asks to see if it has any difference or not
from that I see no can not answer with certainty whether it is the not the same..
I will take the risk and will buy
Just watch out for BURN-IN of the screen. I see Galaxy S7's with horribly burned in screens. Otherwise, if you can get a good deal, then get a live demo unit. Not sure if the demo units would get the same updates (I presume the demo units are hopelessly out of date with the software) as the retail ones, though.
Does anyone know if Samsung's Note 4 motherboard replacements actually have a proper EMMC chip? Or are they simply giving you another defective motherboard with a short warranty?
I'm asking because Samsung in Canada wants $390 to replace the motherboard. Even the service staff guy rudely recommended against it. It only comes with a three month warranty.
So, I'm inferring they don't actually change the motherboard. They most likely just give you another Note 4 and hope it doesn't go bad in three months.
Also - Any suggestion of a robust android phone would be much appreciated. I seems like Samsung is the Ford of phones.
$390 seems excessive. In EU a used Note 4 is ~$150. Note 4 with a broken screen ~$90.
I plan to do the motherboard swap myself and would suggest you check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUDgGaFcCNY&t=287s and decide if you want to try it yourself.

Yes, $390 is excessive, but that's Canada for you..
If you're planning to do a motherboard swap, how will know if the new board has a good emmc chip? Are you buying the board directly from Samsung?

I'm planning to buy a used Note 4 with a broken screen. Possibly even N910C. Now, I cant know for sure the state of the eMMC chip, but it will be better than mine, that is dead
