Check this link, gsm arena confirmed that zenfone 2 will get marshmallow.
http://m.gsmarena.com/the_big_android_60_marshmallow_update_list-news-14514.php
Now, the big question. WHEN?
Wouldn't be surprised if we get 6 before we get 5.xx. Asus seems at least to me have a decent mobile team that does keep the updates rolling out. Wouldn't be surprised if they are working on it already. Fingers crossed
It says "2015" so a max of 2.5 months if they stay within the given time frame.
No,2015. only means that this phone was released in 2015.
The question is When, I suppose arround 2nd quarter.

2015 stated in gsmarena means 2015 DEVICES LIST, and it does not mean that it will be released on 2015 or before 2016..
and another thing, intel just released 5.1.1 sources for devices with intel chipset, this maybe means that zenfone 2 is far faraway yet from android 6.0.........
but who knows....
They will most likely skip 5.1.1 on the whole and jump straight to 6.0
But when we got this update???

How many "major" android version updates is OnePlus 2 going to get, officially, from OnePlus?
Will it get Android N?
[I read that OnePlus One struggled to even get a stable Lollipop 5.1 build, for a long time!
But, anyway, atleast it is one of the officially supported devices of CyanogenMod and the others.]
I've ordered my OnePlus 2, but this is the only thing that's worrying me.

Hey everyone! So the AT&T Note 4 has just received the 5.1.1 update! So maybe that means verizon is next?
Also, according to sammobile, Samsung is already working on Marshmallow for the SM-N910V specifically. No other USA-Carrier note 4 is on that list!
The grumbles I have read and heard is the SMN-910V may skip 5.1.1 and go straight to 6.0. But no one knows for sure so we will have to wait and see.

I'm still on KK. Have no plans on switching either at the time.
But what if 5.1.1 has similar battery but is smoother?

I don't expect Marshmallow to come to the Note 4 til sometime next year. Samsung has to adapt Touchwiz to the new Android versions before they will release it. I expect 5.1.1 to come out within the next few weeks. That's just an educated guess though. I could be wrong.

My prediction is that we'll get 5.1.1 on VZW between Halloween and Thanksgiving. Hasn't VZW gone on a big spree around November or so of the past few years pushing out a bunch of updates to various devices, some of them totally unexpected?
I'm not going to count on 6.0 until at least March or April of next year at the earliest. Knowing Samsung, they'll drag their feet because they don't want anyone with a Galaxy device with a microSD slot to enjoy the improved support in Marshmallow.
I've been reading comments on articles from the 5.1.1 release to AT&T, amongst other carriers, and there has been a lot of praise for it regarding performance and battery life. I'm really looking forward to this update.
Unfortunately, Verizon just passed out an update to the newer Samsung phones so that they're compatible with Samsung Pay.
I am beginning to think that Verizon forgot all about us.
I welcome 6.0 marshmallows. I think it make sense to just update to marshmallow is the better choice than just a incremental update like 5.1 1
but 5.1.1 isn't just incremental, it's huge because it returns our phones to its original state.
Sprint MM 6.0.1 was released as an Odin flash by someone, with OTA likely coming within the next few days.
T-Mobile MM 6.0.1 rumored to be released within the next 2 weeks.
Verizon MM 6.0.1 -- going by Verizon's history versus the other US carriers, I guess we can expect MM 6.0.1 by about October 2016? Knowing Verizon, they will purposely delay the release until at least the Note 6 is released, and possibly even a month later because f*** the current devices owners! Buy a new f***ing device if you want an updated OS! So maybe November 2016 and Verizon says you'll like it!
The good news is, now that we have all have Developer Edition Verizon Note 4's, any enterprising dev can take it upon themselves to port one of the other carrier Note 4 MM 6.0.1 releases to our phones
I predicted about 4 months ago that we'd get MM around the end of June to early July. However, with Verizon's recent flurry of "fast" updates to MM on LG devices and most of the other Samsung handsets, I'll revise that date to end of May to early June. I am also predicting that the Galaxy Tab S models will never receive MM in any official form and will be EOL'd with 5.0.2
That's a bold prediction and I hope you're right!
I just don't want to wait the usual 6 months on Verizon Time to get updates lol
I'm willing to bet we are gonna wait a bit longer then what verizon planned due to the recent exploit found to unlock the bootloader.
No way they're gonna just let that slide without implementing a fix before a major update.

Well you can't exactly close this exploit without making it impossible for legitimate Samsung updates to write to the eMMC from what I know. That's how they found it in the first place, because Samsung found a problem with the eMMC in the S5 which they determined required patching and the only way to do it was overwrite a protected region using the special write command which isn't supposed to be public knowledge. So if you disable that, and you find a problem down the road, you just made your device unfixable.
Newer Samsung devices use UFS anyways so this isn't exactly an exploit with a lot of current device usefulness. Verizon has no choice but to let this one go.
The note 4 is just about at the end of its shelf life sales wise. I don't think they'll spend a dime more on support than they'll have to.
I was a long time Samsung user who ditched them around the S5/Note 3 days when they starting locking everything down tight. I did own a dev S5 and loved that phone when I had.
So as soon as I saw that the N4 was unlocked I scooped one up on Craigslist. There's no way I can use 5.1.1 after having 6.0 for so long on other devices. I'm on CM13 now which is pretty smooth but it has the normal CM bugs... Camera that works most of the time and only fails when someone is posing for a picture, flashlight won't come on after/during camera fail, occasional reboot, wonky navigation. I've had no data losses which was my biggest concern so I believe this is a rock solid CM build. But I've grown accustomed to everything working all of the time.
I was just about to say goodbye to this phone until I read this post. Maybe I'll stick it in a drawer and see if we get a MM port soon.
Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
Thanks for informing me on that. Haven't really kept up with all this as the past few phones I've owned have been locked down.
Assumed it'll be a simple patch for them.

Meanwhile N is coming. Considering 6.0.1 is just a minor update wonder why it took a many months. Assuming this is real and we get it this year.
I dont carer about Android 6.0.1. Better will be when LG will prepare the Android N and we could have it as early as it's possible.
Its like this u can care for n,o,p,q,r,s..... The only thing matters is information. And we'll have to wait for the n update sth like 6 to 8 months. i think and u dont want to sit 8 months on offical v20d ger/eu. this is just some information for evrybody and not a discussion thread.
I should not have posted this....
If u want fast Updates go for Nexus or iOs
Its like this while n will come out the g4 is going to be the 3rd best and not like now the 2nd because lg is going to release a new phone for the second half of 2016 im pretty sure so 6.0.1 would be pretty nice
I'm looking forward to 6.0.1. There are numerous bugs with Bluetooth that 6.0.1 should fix.

I'm more anxious about this than N because this will probably be more stable than the first N releases. I just want a stable release, and 1 year before G4's release I still think the OS is half finished :/
I still have very bad battery life and some BT issues (sometimes it doesn't output audio via BT, I need to restart the device).
[If we get the new UX would be a bonus].
When the 6.0.1? I want to use wakelock with xiaomi mi band
Enviado desde mi LG-H815 mediante Tapatalk
They have updated the schedule table. Roger's G4 will receive 6.0.1 on July 21st.
But why LG is so slow to release for no-brand EUR devices too?
Seems like Rogers decided not to bother with any of the security updates for 6.0 and will just jump directly to 6.0.1 That's a pretty dangerous policy with all the vulnerabilities that they have left their users exposed to for over 6 months!
Having come from a Nexus 5 to the LG G4 this really makes me think my next phone needs to be back to a Google one.
So I Saw the news on AA and I don't know but it said here that most of the Motorola devices will receive Android 7.0. My confusion is that: will Moto X play receive 7.0 as well?
http://www.androidauthority.com/android-7-0-update-679175/
I guess we are out of luck on this one. I got my X Play in January. It came with Lollipop, but I could almost immediately upgrade to Marshmallow. Security level was "December 2015". Last April we could upgrade to March 2016 and since then there is no release except one for India. Since then Google has released updates :
April : https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/2016-04-02.html
May : https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/2016-05-01.html
June : https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/2016-06-01.html
July : https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/2016-07-01.html
August : https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/2016-08-01.html
Each of these updates contains at least one (but up to eight) updates which are marked Critical.
I think any manufacturer has reasons to deploy these updates. Since it requires a lot of effort I'm not expecting an OTA each month, but it would be nice to see an OTA every 2-3 months. No news from Motorola is bad news for me. It seems they move on to the next series of devices.
After 5 months "your device is up to date", I've had it. My phone has been unlocked last week, and it now runs one of the custom ROMs found here. It has the July update, and I am expecting an OTA update for my ROM soon.
An 2015 phone without 7.0? No way. I hope we will receive it in 2017.

My humbled opinion is that we will get android 7 for sure. Lenovo support moto devices minimally with 2 big system updates and our moto got just one (marshmallow) yet. So I am quite optimistic if you ask me...
We can only speculate until they officially announce about if they will release or not.
Pretty sure the phone can support 7.0
At least SD615 is on the list of 7.0 supported SoCs, so fingers crossed:

Aaahhh i already found it, but you where first to post it
but if found another wiki page about the Adreno
As you can see the Adreno (graphical chip) of the Moto x play is supported(405) which is included in the Snapdragon 615
So there is hope for android 7
All 2015 moto x series are getting android N
I think N will be 64 bit.
