Sprint MM 6.0.1 was released as an Odin flash by someone, with OTA likely coming within the next few days.
T-Mobile MM 6.0.1 rumored to be released within the next 2 weeks.
Verizon MM 6.0.1 -- going by Verizon's history versus the other US carriers, I guess we can expect MM 6.0.1 by about October 2016? Knowing Verizon, they will purposely delay the release until at least the Note 6 is released, and possibly even a month later because f*** the current devices owners! Buy a new f***ing device if you want an updated OS! So maybe November 2016 and Verizon says you'll like it!
The good news is, now that we have all have Developer Edition Verizon Note 4's, any enterprising dev can take it upon themselves to port one of the other carrier Note 4 MM 6.0.1 releases to our phones
I predicted about 4 months ago that we'd get MM around the end of June to early July. However, with Verizon's recent flurry of "fast" updates to MM on LG devices and most of the other Samsung handsets, I'll revise that date to end of May to early June. I am also predicting that the Galaxy Tab S models will never receive MM in any official form and will be EOL'd with 5.0.2
That's a bold prediction and I hope you're right!
I just don't want to wait the usual 6 months on Verizon Time to get updates lol
I'm willing to bet we are gonna wait a bit longer then what verizon planned due to the recent exploit found to unlock the bootloader.
No way they're gonna just let that slide without implementing a fix before a major update.

As soon as I unlock this B**ch, and flash CM13! I'm sick of waiting for them.. my old Nexus 7 2013 has had marshmellow since last sept!

Well you can't exactly close this exploit without making it impossible for legitimate Samsung updates to write to the eMMC from what I know. That's how they found it in the first place, because Samsung found a problem with the eMMC in the S5 which they determined required patching and the only way to do it was overwrite a protected region using the special write command which isn't supposed to be public knowledge. So if you disable that, and you find a problem down the road, you just made your device unfixable.
Newer Samsung devices use UFS anyways so this isn't exactly an exploit with a lot of current device usefulness. Verizon has no choice but to let this one go.
The note 4 is just about at the end of its shelf life sales wise. I don't think they'll spend a dime more on support than they'll have to.
I was a long time Samsung user who ditched them around the S5/Note 3 days when they starting locking everything down tight. I did own a dev S5 and loved that phone when I had.
So as soon as I saw that the N4 was unlocked I scooped one up on Craigslist. There's no way I can use 5.1.1 after having 6.0 for so long on other devices. I'm on CM13 now which is pretty smooth but it has the normal CM bugs... Camera that works most of the time and only fails when someone is posing for a picture, flashlight won't come on after/during camera fail, occasional reboot, wonky navigation. I've had no data losses which was my biggest concern so I believe this is a rock solid CM build. But I've grown accustomed to everything working all of the time.
I was just about to say goodbye to this phone until I read this post. Maybe I'll stick it in a drawer and see if we get a MM port soon.

Thanks for informing me on that. Haven't really kept up with all this as the past few phones I've owned have been locked down.
Assumed it'll be a simple patch for them.

Hi guys,
I have a British Note 4, running BTU and I'm still waiting for Lollipop. Having owned many many devices over the last few years, I'm more than used to this waiting game, but it's getting a bit crazy now?
Lollipop was released a few weeks after the Note 4 was announced, we are now three, almost four months in to the following year and I'm yet to receive the update?
Poland, Samsung's Beta location received the update a long time ago. What's going on are there some serious Lollipop issues?
If you're running Exynos CPU then apparently were awaiting Intel to produce drivers for the radio. I have N910U international unbranded model and no update yet either, yet most carrier models are updated, very unusual. I feel you though, we are almost in to the 4th month of the year and I seem to recall SS mentioning GN4 will be receiving Android 5.0 shortly 6 months ago lol, oh well looks like I may consider the Saygus V2, beast of a phone!
I wish I could say that's the model I have but unfortunately it isn't! I'm running the N910F

Lolipop update for Note 4 its official a failure!! I see HTC One M8 and LG G3 and Note 3 that i sold to buy the Note 4 with oficial updates and my Note 4 on 4.4.4
Worst... no oficial word on the subject by Samsung.

At last someone asked this question, I was wondering why no one has asked this already!
Samsung should update us
note 3s are being updated etc ...but most unlocked carrier free international phone still no update.....Samsung should say something like we are sorting out bugs but we plan to release it within the next few weeks.
the way they are doing it now doesn't help create a good brand
Although hard every company should be like Apple when it comes to software updates. Everyone should get it at the same time.

The G version we have down here in Australia is in the same boat. Until every component is built in house (applies to any manufacturer) then software updates for every model variation won't be possible. Sucks but usually comes with the option of choice.
The UK is one of the countries which has the gear VR and that might be the reason for the delay as the UK note 4 has to work with the gear VR on lollipop and is waiting for oculus update.
No one gives a flying you know what about Gear VR, its a poor excuse to prolong an update so that SS can release S6 in hope (we whom remain pre updated and with bugs) that we jump ship!
Deplorable and unforgivable!
Another lost customer here Samdung, better to not bull**** consumers when releasing products!

Calm down mate. The only thing I don't get, is how come you're on XDA developers forum and still doesn't have lollipop? I'm on ee and have dirty flashed with Odin first German and now that new Dutch rom and it's all good. UK is important market for Sammy, hence I guess they want to make sure everything is buttoned up before proper release. DBT rom wasn't good, that's why they stopped rollout.

You really think that people are going to change their phone just because the new one has the latest lollipop? Surely you would have to be an idiot to that.
Is it because when we get it our battery problems will be solved and battery life will beat note 5... Strange that full price unlocked phones still no updates but usa carriers have. Disgraceful really... One thing I really like about the iPhone upgrades are fast and for every model with support for older models at least 2 or three years
Santa will bring it.
I agree with you that Samsung are holding 5.1.1 for Note 4 and that's probably not to fix bugs but more likely because they want Note 4 users move to Note 5.
But I don't think Apple is the best example when it comes to updates. They usually release updates that have performances or battery life problem on older iphone's models and only newer models (or the one from the year before) can access to all fonctionalities.

That can't be true. The 5.1.1 update is only available in the US right now which is the only country (apart from Korea) that will actually get the Note 5.

Is it not normally the case that the clever folk on the XDA forums can make it so that the US firmware for 5.1.1 can work on the international variant 910F?

Shouldn't be too much work, but I doubt it would be worth it considering the official update could come any day now. Also Sprint and T-Mobile released the updates, not Samsung, so Samsung could still be holding back the firmware for international Note 4 customers. There's just nothing we can do right now, other than to wait for the update to drop. I'm going to guess we'll see it the same time the Note 5/S6/S6 Edge/S6 Edge Plus (how many top tier phones does one company really need?) gets updates to Android Marshmellow (which is running awesome btw on my Nexus 5).

Sammy have screwed things up with lollipop on the sd variants. To get it to boot you need the modem files from the same base. This means to get 5.1.1 tmob booted we'd need the tmob modem. Trust me I've tried every thing I can think of to get either the tmob or sprint releases to boot but no luck

I don't think Samsung is holding back updates because of their selling policy. The usual customer doesn't know abou it. We on xda are keeping an eye on the updates, but we are probably just 1% and that isn't significant.

I don't know...I'm just saying that my family is just buying the newer phones and they don't know what android version they are getting. I recently got my brothers note3 to use and he didn't update at all since he buyed it. And I think he's an avarage user.
The android versions are confusing for the avarage user, not like iOS. Google and Samsung and other manufacturers don't make such big deals of the updates like Apple does.
We've been waiting far too long for 5.1.1, I must say. Samsung truly have taken their time.
I've had the S2, S3 and S4, and never waited this long for updates.
I am loving my Note 4 more than any other Samsung...heck any phone in general I've owned, that is including more than my 1st smartphone, the Nokia N80, which I absolutely adored. Yet I can't help but feel Samsung is letting down what has to be their greatest smartphone in recent times with slow updates, its such a shame really.

Never waited this long for updates? Seriously, seems like you never owned a Galaxy Note N7000. More than 8 months waiting for the Jelly Bean 4.1.2 update and one year for Carrier Updates. The best treated Note was the Galaxy Note 2, which recived JB 4.2.2, 4.3, 4.4 Kitkat and even Lollipop was planned for it. But yes, now that the Note 5 is released, we need to wait a couple of months to see a big update for our Note 4. I'm pretty sure that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be the last one, sadly, knowing Samsung and their update policy.
It is very simple. They delay 5.1.1 because of Note 5. They want customer have more reasons to upgrade, to buy their new phone. And if they do like 5.0.1, just upgrade OS core, no more features like on S6, Note 4 user will be disappointed with them. Many user want removable battery, better battery life option, sd card support so they will not upgrade soon!

You are right, this is the truth.
I will keep my Note 4 (KitKat 4.4.4), I downgrade from 5.0.1 because of bugs and I will not update my Note 4 to any new firmware unless it will be bug free as much as the 4.4.4 firmware.
that will lead me to change my mind regarding what is next after Note 4 (My next smartphone) ?!!!
I will think twice before buying something from Samsung, specially after using glass for building their smartphones.
Hey everyone! So the AT&T Note 4 has just received the 5.1.1 update! So maybe that means verizon is next?
Also, according to sammobile, Samsung is already working on Marshmallow for the SM-N910V specifically. No other USA-Carrier note 4 is on that list!
The grumbles I have read and heard is the SMN-910V may skip 5.1.1 and go straight to 6.0. But no one knows for sure so we will have to wait and see.

I don't expect Marshmallow to come to the Note 4 til sometime next year. Samsung has to adapt Touchwiz to the new Android versions before they will release it. I expect 5.1.1 to come out within the next few weeks. That's just an educated guess though. I could be wrong.

My prediction is that we'll get 5.1.1 on VZW between Halloween and Thanksgiving. Hasn't VZW gone on a big spree around November or so of the past few years pushing out a bunch of updates to various devices, some of them totally unexpected?
I'm not going to count on 6.0 until at least March or April of next year at the earliest. Knowing Samsung, they'll drag their feet because they don't want anyone with a Galaxy device with a microSD slot to enjoy the improved support in Marshmallow.
I've been reading comments on articles from the 5.1.1 release to AT&T, amongst other carriers, and there has been a lot of praise for it regarding performance and battery life. I'm really looking forward to this update.
Unfortunately, Verizon just passed out an update to the newer Samsung phones so that they're compatible with Samsung Pay.
I am beginning to think that Verizon forgot all about us.
I welcome 6.0 marshmallows. I think it make sense to just update to marshmallow is the better choice than just a incremental update like 5.1 1
but 5.1.1 isn't just incremental, it's huge because it returns our phones to its original state.
Now with the S5 getting MM I'm really hoping it comes to this device. At the end of the day it has way better specs if it does not come from Samsung this is my last device with them forever.
Sent from my SM-G901F using Tapatalk
I'm also wondering the same thing. I'm waiting for the Marshmallow update and checking the updates daily. What's worse is that I cannot do it OTA, because when I check for updates, I receive a message regarding "unauthorized modifications", so Kies or SmartSwitch are my options. Regardless, I hope the update for G901F will also come until May 19th or when the scheduled timeframe for the update ends. It's annoying that you can't find info about this update anywhere.
It will come
There are many many different variants of the Galaxy S5 model. The update is being slowly rolled out to each model and will reach the SM-G901F very soon. They won't leave this model out. They roll out each build to the different models in a certain order incase of mass bugs within the firmware. Imagine rolling out the firmware to all devices in one day and suddenly realising there were critical bugs that left people with faulty devices.
I think its a shame that Samsung have so many different models of all their phones because it just delays the update process... but hey that's how they appeal to people by having so many buying options. I bought my S5 early last year as it was still the flagship in this country at the time... it took months and months for 5.0.2 to be rolled out to it only to find it had terrible ram management issues and I had to resort to going back to KitKat 4.4! So the most up to date software isn't even 5.1!!! I can't even remember when Marshmallow was announced but I think it's coming up to almost 12 months now which is pretty ridiculous for our G901F to still not have it....
My lesson has been learnt... if you want the most up to date software for your phone then buy Nexus!
S6, S7... who cares LOL

Well you could argue a few ways.
One - would you rather have rushed software with bugs, or tested software that works?
Two - there are a few models from the Samsung line so newer should get priority over older.
Three - Samsung should release less devices to show work on upgrades for existing users. Most people will upgrade at end of contract, which in most cases is 18 months to two years. So having a new product every two years will lead to better tech than the predecessor and a more unified user base with devices and more satisfied customers.
Sadly, business works on ever growing profit margins, so having a two year gap in growth would look bad for investors and other companies could surpass Samsung in growth in that time making the new models cost more to make up the previous years loss.
You could argue yes but its even out of the Oneplus 3 now, I wont be wasting hundreds with Samsung again..........oh and it wasn't really an argument you gave because Samsung has tested it, their just dripping the final release so only a handful of people have it

Well, I'm going to post from the other side of the tacks on this one. I came to the S7 Edge from a 6P. I was even part of the beta program and got updates faster than anyone else. You know what? Whoopdeedo. There was nothing even in the last release version of N (7.1.1) that I had on the 6P that this S7 Edge can't and didn't already do long before it was put into vanilla Android. The upgrade to N will come to the S7 Edge shortly. Even here in Canada where updates seem to take forever from carriers, it is noted as coming soon, so we should see it in the next month or so.
But really, this phone is already performing so much better for me that the 6P ever did and has everything software wise and more than I ever had with straight N Android. Not sure why the updates are seemingly so important to some. This phone works great right now and my battery life is off the charts compared to the 6P on the latest version of N. Besides, N is coming to our phones shortly as well. As someone mentioned above, because it is taking longer, at least it won't be riddled with bugs and battery drain like on the 6P for me.

Well, don't speak for everyone. I'm with Rogers here in Canada and they JUST posted "Coming Soon" on their website. So it's only been about a week or so since my carrier has said it is coming. Not Samsung's fault the carriers take forever to get their crap in there and test their version.
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/tech/news/575565/Android-Nougat-Samsung-Galaxy-S7-update-release-date
Like I said I wont be giving hundreds to a supplier that extracts the urine like this, I might even get the Oneplus 4 when its out, they've released it for the 3 now
I got fed up waiting for Singapore to update to Nougat, so I just flashed, with Odin, the Malaysian Nougat update, using my Home CSC. Worked perfectly, not data lost. My phone is not rooted
Well, the unlocked version in US is independent on carriers and does not has Nougat yet. It is not the carrier's fault if Samsung has multiple versions of the same phone and decides to update only a subset of all the versions.

No doubt there are bugs they can't fix and that's the real question: why samsung with their multimillion budget to hire skilled devs can't provide quality software update in time? Not to mention how many people replaced they catching fire note 7 with s7e... good strategy to treat all of them like that. Let's not forget that in 2017 even the normal user is becoming more and more aware about updates and their importance about his experience. After all, they can afford to hire more than one A team working on their flagship phone and attach it to s7/s7e development. If the patch BTU update works well I can guess they will start to roll out around the mid/end next week. Still, for me this is a really bad rollout, especially if we consider the beta test period.
