[Q] G3 bricked (i guess) Please Help me out ppl

I downloaded the kies version of the firmware of the froyo update and updated the firmware using odin.
After i installed froyo, i wanted to root to apply swype patch and everthing went ok but when i restarted, the phone was stuck on the i5801 loading screen for about an hour
so i flashed the firmware again.
Odin saves the data onto phone and restarts the phone and the phone opens recovery mode but now it gets stuck on a screen saying "delete app data"... "delete files please wait" and it has been stuck there for about 3 hours now and even when i try and open recovery mode, it opens but then this screen comes up
i tried flashing multiple times but nothing works, cant even factory reset now
Please help me out..
note:odin for a change shows a disabled reset time box.. it is faded out)

Also suggest if i should go to the service center coz the phone is under warranty, i really doubt theyd do it for free considering its rooted but i dont mind paying up.
And let me know if there is anyway the service center ppl will know i rooted/flashed

Try taking out the battery and then putting it back, and press the 2 volume buttons+home+power until the phone boots up in recovery mode... Try wipping the memory from there

that is the entire problem, as soon as it goes into recovery mode it starts off like shown in the screenshot
therefore it is not displaying the menu (which has options to factory reset/clear cache) instead its jumping directly to the update sequence but then getting stuck at deleting apps

Try flashing a different firmware, such as an eclair rom. Note that your phone is 5801, so look for those firmwares.

k ill try flashing an eclair rom. I did flash firmware specific to my version it self..
But the problem is that even after the flashing is done, the recovery window has to open where the update begins and thats when the "deleting apps" screen kicks in and doesnt progress
never the less ill try flashing another rom/firmware and see

Hmm, that is weird. Did you flash the bootloader?

tried flsahing a eclair firmware but no luck..
odin runs for a couple of mins, and says pass but still the phone is stuck on the delecting apps screen..'
For some odd reason, my recovery mode is hell bent on deleting some apps but is not able to and is getting stuck and therefore i cant reset/ clear cache..
Do u ppl think this could be coz of the root??
Please suggest something, i dont want to know my phone is bricked for ever considering its not even been a year since i bought it

it usually works if you flash the very first rom that worked the last time you got problems.
did you flash with your sdcard in your phone?

[Q] Weirdest problem - flashing anythin thru ODIN does not change anything in my S4

Alright, So I bought a brand-new Galaxy S4 i-9500 a couple of weeks back. Ever since day one, the phone has major problems working with my Sandisk Class 10 64gb sdxc card, which I was using in my Galaxy Note N7000, without any problems. The card also works perfect in my wife's Galaxy S3 i9300.
The problems include:
-> The phone showing card as "Damaged" and not mounting it.
-> Sometimes it mounts the card, but shows the card as 'Blank' or 'Wrongly Formatted'
-> And yet sometimes, it mounts the card, but does not read some specific files. Opening those will give a message which says "File format not supported". In the process, the phone heats up to pretty nasty levels, and the battery drain will be massive. The phone also becomes very slow, gets stuck, and sometimes even restarts, and the problem keeps continuing.
If I remove the memory card, the phone works like a charm. I tried a 16gb memory card which also produced more or less the same results.
Now, the real problem is this. Recently, I had tried to root the phone, and for that purpose, I tried flashing CWM from cofface, through ODIN 3.07 and 1.85. Both the times, the flashing process was successful, with ODIN giving the green "PASS" message. However, nothing seemed to change on my phone, and CWM was never installed. I could never get the CWM screen no matter what I tried (every instruction on the net, literally). I then left the matter.
When my aforementioned card problem bothered me a lot, today, I decided to re-flash the stock firmware to my phone. So I downloaded the stock ROM from Sammobile, the correct pit file from XDA and started the flash process. Flashing was successful, as shown by ODIN, and the phone rebooted. But to my horror, the phone was exactly in the same state, when I had switched it off. Nothing was ever changed, all my files and everything were intact, and nothing had happened at all!!!!
How is this possible??? The bootloader shows "Downloading" and the blue bar while flashing, ODIN shows everything and even says it succeeded, but then how come things on my Phone remains absolutely unchanged??? So then what did it re-flash and where to?? And is there any way to get rid of this memory card problem??
I googled a lot to see if anyone else is experiencing the same problem as mine, but never found anything, which leads me to believe that my device is one weird thing!

Same problem for me... i wanted reinstall the stock firmware completely but when i flashed it with ODIN nothing happened...

Odin doesnt wipe your device or delete anything of your data...
If you flash the same firmware with your device firmware then nothing's really happened..
But if you root or change anything to system - boot - recovery - modem partition then simply is going again to stock or to the version you flash..

Maybe there is something wrong with flashing memory (emmc).
There is an app on play store to check it, but i dont know if it works on s4.
I suggest to replace your phone. Or send it to service center
Edit: flash another different stock firmware, and check pda and csc if has changed

in the same page u get a link to flash back to stock recovery. get that flashed
boot into stock recovery and get a factory reset done.
pull battery and back in...
turn on ur phone into download mode and flash ur stock rom using odin....
this is how i got mine working.... i had ur similar issue....

OMG. I just experienced the EXACT same issue with a Galaxy Exhibit (MetroPCS) SGH-T599. I picked up this phone 2nd hand. It has Philz Touch v6.25 recovery already installed on it. But the phone is stuck in a boot loop. So I decided to flash the stock ROM, a custom ROM via ODIN and later even via flashable zips from the Philz recovery! I even tried to flash TWRP to replace Philz Touch thinking there was something wrong with Philz recovery.
No matter what I did, EVERY TIME, the phone remained in EXACTLY the same state, i.e., with Philz recovery still on there.
I have searched everywhere for the last 3 days including XDA but never found anyone else with the same ODIN flashing issue. Thank goodness I found your post. I'm reading the thread now looking for a solution.
I've noticed a couple other things beneath the surface. When I flashed a CM custom ROM for the phone, the default.prop indicated that there was a new system on the phone (I can access the phone via ADB and look at the files including the system files). It also appears the phone was rooted by the previous owner. Another thing I noticed is that some cases when I tried to install a custom ROM via the custom recovery, the phone would suddenly reboot just at the point the recovery attempts to write the ROM.
Yes, it is clear the phone is good and bricked. But how on earth to unbrick it if ODIN isn't actually changing ANYTHING on the phone and installing a ROM via Philz recovery changes little to nothing either.

Totaly same problem with my Galaxy Note 10.1 (N8010). Tried flash stock ROM over Odin a totaly nothing changed. It is in bootloop everytime with totaly same Marshmallow logo, even if I flash stock ROM which is KitKat... Only sometime it boot to system where it say to me "Encryption unssucessfull" - WTF? i never have password, and when i click on something it just reboot to BootLoop...
I have TWRP recovery on it, but when i want to flash some ROM it flash it but nothing change... Maybe EMMC memory chip is death or I dont know...

Fellas, try on other PC/Laptop or reinstal Windows/Ubuntu whatever you use... That helped me..

Phone won't boot past "Galaxy S4" splash screen

So I recently purchased my AT&T Galaxy S4 with MDL baseband. I rooted and installed TWRP via motochopper. I then loaded Kangabean 4.2.2 and everything was great. Got notification for OTA update to 4.3 and decided might as well load Kangabean 4.3 as opposed to dealing with the OTA notification. I did so (after formatting internal SD and performing factory reset) and now my phone won't boot beyond the Galaxy S4 splash screen. I restored a nandroid backup of the original software and was able to boot the phone once, but couldn't load the custom rom again, nor can i load into the stock rom anymore either. Does it sound like my phone may have a hardware failure? Would attempting to restore through odin be the next logical step? I'm by no means an expert with these sort of things but my S2 has never given me any sort of grief when flashing various roms in the past. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Try a different kernel, also, pull the battery for 5 min, it will boot.

Yeah I left the phone off with the battery removed all night - didn't want to boot this morning. I'm also noticing an oddity with TWRP - it's for some reason asking for a password on startup even though I've never set one. It also gives an error when attempting to wipe the phone or re-flash

It will not let you past the password, been there, it will only do simulated flashes.
Odin is his only option.

So I managed to flash back to stock with odin. I was then able to re-root and re-install recovery. Something is still wrong here though. I was able to load kangabean 4.3, but when i installed the SIM card (kept it out to prevent OTA updates) the phone would no longer boot. I then re-flashed with odin, re-rooted, installed sim, THEN loaded the rom and it worked.... For a while. I had the phone plugged in to my laptop as i had recently transferred some ringtones to the internal SD. I powered down the phone. It seemed to shut the OS down but it then displayed a battery symbol with a rotating circular animation, as if it was trying to show that it was charging the battery. The phone froze in this state.
Another thing that I've noticed is that when this phone freezes, it gets warm. It also tends not to respond well until i've let it cool down. I'm now having difficulty booting the phone after re-flashing with odin. It loads to the white screen with AT&T logo and hangs (and gets warm). I plan to leave the phone alone with battery removed for the day and attempt to reboot or re-flash with odin later.
I find it odd that the rom that i flashed would stop working if i've flashed the rom with the sim removed from the phone, then introduced the sim to the phone after the flash is complete. Is this normal? I'm also unsure if my phone has faulty hardware, or maybe there's some sort of software glitch that's causing it to hang and overhead (like an infinite loop caused by faulty software).
I think if / when I can get it working with the stock rom again, I'll root it and run it for a while and see what it does. I never intended to run this phone with the stock rom as I prefer vanilla android.
I'm wondering if there's something wrong with the kernel. Perhaps I should re-download the ROM and re-install it. I'm not sure but I think the kernel is responsible for charging issues. Perhaps a bad kernel WOULD explain why the phone sometimes freezes at the "battery charging" logo? I'm somewhat at a loss as to what to do. I could try exchanging it through AT&T. If so, I hope they nave another one in their stock that has the MDL baseband as I know I'd be screwed with the current one...

If you're on the stock AT&T rom and you're getting stuck on the AT&T boot logo try the following:
Power off your phone and hold down Volume Up, Center Home, and Power buttons together.
Once you see the Galaxy S4 splash - Keep holding down Volume Up and Center Home buttons but let go of Power button.
Choose the wipe datafactory reset. This will wipe your phone completely but it should boot after.

Well I've been toying around with this thing and much to my surprise, I have CM10 running stable w/o any issues booting! I think I would prefer to run Kangabean 2.05 (android 4.3) though. Assuming that the kernel could be a likely cause of the OS not booting, could someone recommend a suitable kernel for that rom? It appears to come packaged with the "KT" kernel...
Another thought i had was perhaps TWRP wasn't adding the loki feature to the roms that i was trying. I upgraded from 2.5x to 2.6. Hasn't seemed to have made a noticeable difference though.
Would the fact that CM10 runs absolutely flawlessly with no issues booting at all possibly help narrow down why the other roms that I'm flashing only load up the first time but fail at the "Galaxy S4" splash screen on subsequent reboots? Admittedly I'm a relative noob to roms and such but up until now i've been able to muddle my way through things and eventually figure them out. I'm not having the greatest luck with this one!

TWRP does not now and has never added LOKI to any ROM or Kernel. Only OUDHS CWM auto-LOKIs. You have to use A pre-LOKIed Kernel or flash the LOKI DokI script to LOKI anything with TWRP. You can do a search to find the LOKI DOKI script and how to use it.

[Q] GT-i9500 has no OS installed.

Hi everyone I just recently purchased a used S4 the GT-i9500. Everything seemed fine until I got home. It detected my T-Mobile Sim fine but I could only access 2G data and could not connect to any WiFi network I came across. The rom was stock 4.2.2 and the phone was rooted pre purchase. So after fiddling around for a few minutes I discovered the previous owner had flashed TWRP v2.4.1.0 as his choice for a Custom Recovery. Now at this point I had decided to flash on a Custom Rom and of course I first made a backup before flashing on WanamLite. Now after attempting to flash it I immediately received a failure. I tried turning off the signature verification and it did not flash. Now in my frustration i attempted to wipe everything and tried flashing Omega Rom v14. Now i was able to go through with the installation and choose what I wished to install and when I pressed Install things went along smoothly until I hit the app SecSafetyAssurance.apk where it freezes. This is a bump that I've run into at least 5 times already. I changed certain options I wanted to install and eventually made it past this and I am prompted to reboot. Now when I do this to my dismay I just receive a black screen. Upon pulling out the battery and attempting to reboot I still receive a black screen. when I boot back into the Recovery and attempt to reboot the system from within TWRP it warns me saying No OS Installed Are you sure you want to reboot. Im at a loss of what to do. I have read about other members suggesting to use ODIN but I am very confused about how to access Download Mode in order to flash a stock rom from SamMobile.com. I could use a few tips or maybe a few options that I'm left with in order to obtain the operation of my phone again. I would like to get my phone back and Im sure some users can relate to how Im feeling so any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advanced!

Upon pulling out the battery and attempting to reboot I still receive a black screen. when I boot back into the Recovery and attempt to reboot the system from within TWRP it warns me saying No OS Installed Are you sure you want to reboot. Well first thing is get the latest stock firmware for your variant from my sign and get odin 3.07
For download mode power off phone unplug,, press volume down home and power all together till something pops up and release then press volume up and connect to pc
Open odin click pda and select that firmware u downloaded start the process

Flashing through odin is one option.... some users have reported that there were some hiccups when installing omega 14 because of the aroma script.....try a different rom...there are many others to choose from....or you could flash stock via odin as said on the earlier comment good luck

Today I attempted to use ODIN to flash now I am still currently attempting this. When I press the volume down key, power, and home button it takes me to the custom recovery TWRP instead of download mode. The phone did this when I first purchased it. When I still had what appeared to be the stock rom it would always take me to the recovery. When I would use the volume up instead of down it would take me to the factory test mode now mind you this happened when the OS was still installed. When i try that combination now i just receive a blank black screen. Are there any other ways to boot into download mode?

Stuck in bootloop after un-installing Flipboard

I'm usually fairly good at troubleshooting my own stuff but this really has me stuck in the same place for a few hours now.
So basically Flipboard has been nagging me(well play store is, not the app itself but anyway) so I said to myself why don't I uninstall it since I've never used it and don't plan to, and besides I hate to have pointless apps installed. So I open TitaniumBackup and I see it is installed as a system app, I thought what's the worst that can happen? so I do uninstall it and a minute later my phone shuts off. I try to turn it on and it doesn't go past the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 flash screen, it either reboots or stays like that.
I try to go into recovery to restore a backup and I can't, it is stuck at Recovery Booting and again it either stays like that or reboots and does it again and again and again.
Now, I haven't made any changes or installs on my phone for weeks now, so this is either because I unistalled Flipboard(I know I shouldn't have risked it since it was a system app but I really could not see it going this way) or the hardware is on it's way out(don't see what else could it be).
I figured I should flash a stock rom with odin, I can get into download mode, and reinstall everything from scratch.
I took a stock image from xda and flashed it and it does exactly the same thing.
Right now I'm downloading another stock image from sammobile for my country/provider to see if this will change anything.
What else can I try? I'm completely stuck and I really don't want to send the phone back like this, I doubt amazon is gonna be happy about it.

Really sorry for the double-post. I'm quite desperate and need my phone for work.
Since last post I've tried flashing N910FXXU1COH4_N910FH3G1COH3_H3G.zip through Odin from SamMobile and it did the same thing with rebooting constantly.
Then I've installed Kies and went to Tools -> Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation and gave it the model and S/N and it downloaded something and everything went all right, the phone reboots and I'm back in the same circle, it just shows me the splash screen(in some video's I've seen that after this procedure they get the splash screen and then the android bot with a progress bar, I don't get that, I only get the splash screen and reboot) and reboots.
I thought this was a last resort thing? Is the phone completely dead or is there something I can try?
Again sorry for the double-post.
Update: still no progress so I've contacted Amazon and they said to send it back so hopefully this works out in the end, no matter how annoying the waiting time will be, if you do have any suggestions on what I should try please let me know as I haven't posted the phone yet.
