Hi,
I have just purchased Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005 in used condition. I have 2 major problems in the phone and I am very frustrated.
1- The moment I purchased it the battery meter shows 100% and phone gets shut down after a-2 hours time. Then it tries to keep on restart but each time the when first screen with Phone name appears, the phone gets off and the same process repeat again and again. Then I have to plug-in charger, do some charging and Turn-On the phone.
2- Second problem is with Camera, the image quality is too bad. It is too blurry and whitish. Most of the time it does not Auto Focus also. There looks like some white dust inside the lens also. Front Camera quality is also not good
Plssssssssssssssssssss if anyone figure out how to fix these problems and what should I do
Thanks.

You mean I need to install custom ROM? By the way now i came to know that if I recharge the phone when it is OFF then it gives good time but battery percentage does not decline at all. Is it a problem with motherboard??? Camera is working fine today don't know why, maybe its works good when battery is charged, can it be the reason???

Thanks a lot the man who wrote this guide (http://www.cultofandroid.com/53963/save-galaxy-note-3-failed-kitkat-update-odin-tip/). It fixed my fone which was bricked.
BUT THE OLD ISSUES ARE STILL THERE. BATTERY METER IS STILL SHOWING 100% AND I CANNOT RECHARGE MY PHONE UNTIL IT IS OFF

I am doing the same. I have downloadable a battery collaboration app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ignisoft.battery.calibration&hl=en) and drained the battery by making calls and playing a game...
I used this app because it doesn't require to root the phone, others do.
Now recharging phone, let see what happens when I restart the phone.
No Improvements same old story of 100% baterry meter after draining and recharging it and restarting the phone

I followed the instructions from here ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=743769 ) up until flashing the actual zip and forgot I put the zip on my external sdcard rather than "internal" sdcard. Now my phone won't get past the initial white Samsung Vibrant screen. Also, I can only get into stock recovery. After clicking "reinstall packages" it just reboots and brings me back to stock recovery. Please help. Thank you.
You will need to flash back to stock then you will have access to your phone again.. you will have to start over to flash that rom. after you flash back to stock using odin
use this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734475
You will need the right windows drivers so Odin will see your phone pick them up here.
Windows 64bit
Windows 32bit

1. Put your phone in download mode by plugging it in and then holding Vol Up+Down and Power. As SOON as the screen goes black release power but NOT Vol Up+Down.
2. Launch Odin
3. Unplug your phone.
4. Load the pit and pda files into odin.
5. Plug your phone back in. You should now see one of the small blocks turn yellow and show you the com port. If not, something is wrong with your drivers.
6. Click start. If it flashes, great. If it hangs at File analasys then repeat 1-5.
6a. If Odin hangs at cache.rfs then move on to 6b.
6b. Unplug your phone (Odin will say it was removed) and remove the battery. DO NOT SHUT DOWN ODIN!!!!!!
6c. Put the battery back in and plug it back into your computer and put it back into download mode using step 1.
6d. Press start on Odin and it should now flash.
Also if you continue to hang at cache.rfs I found that if you delete s1_odin_20100512.pit then copy a new copy of the file over to your odin directory it seems to work fine after that.
Damn it.Thanks....
vol dn+up should get you to the stock recovery util right? the yellow and blue one?
edit: nvm, scare is over lol
On step 6d, where it says to press start again on odin, odin does not let me do this. The start, reset, pit, pda, etc... buttons are grey and will not let me press them. Help!
EDIT: also gives me a message in the upper left corner that says "CACHE" if that helps (in the far upper left box above where the yellow COM3 thing was.

You need to delete your s1_odin_20100512.pit file and then extract a new copy to the odin folder then flash again. happened to me and that is all I did to fix it. step 6d did not work for me has well.
Hmmmm it's still not working. Would it help if i made a video showing what i'm doing then you can look it over and tell me if I'm doing something incorrectly? Also maybe I should be more clear. There is no way for me to start the flash again after removing my device as per step 6 without having to completely restart odin, thus restarting the process.
Update: Still not working. Really need a fix for this. Is there another way to un-brick my phone?
EDIT: To clarify, my problem was getting stuck as Cache.rfs and never going past that. I did try the previous steps listed in this article, as well as trying to reinstall all drivers and even using different Odin copies from other threads (even though they were all the same Odin 3). No .pit file seemed to work for me. Also, I'd like to point out that I have this issue with my netbook, but my work computer where I've done all my Odin flashing before did not have this issue, and I could use the .pit files perfectly fine.
First off, I'm not anyone special (I guess depends on the meaning of special), I don't dev... I play around. That's all. So take this all with a grain of salt.
I had the same issue, and have spent all night trying to fix it. Just now I didn't use the .pit file at all. Just the .tar in the PDA slot. Immediately went through and reflashed everything and I am fully up and running.
I can't guarantee that I don't have some kind of issues now but I am now back at my home screen and the phone seems to be operating fine.
The files I used are as follows:
Stock 2.1 firmware for the Vibrant: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739091
Samsung studio 7 (seemed to get Odin to recognize the phone without having to disconnect and reconnect, thought it might have something to do with the issue, though not sure): http://www.4shared.com/file/117435710/3d286573/Samsung_PC_Studio_72249.html
And the Samsung USB Drivers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728929
Now, if a real dev can tell us what happens when you don't use the .pit file, we can know if there is any longterm repercussion from this. Short term though, working like a dream. I hope this helps, because being stuck without a working Vibrant sucks!
ODIN is a pain but I've found a way to get it work pretty consistently for me. Whenever you flash a ROM or back to stock, always make sure you enable USB debugging, and have adb working on your computer.
Open up your command console, plug in your device, open up ODIN, and type "adb reboot download". ODIN should recognize your phone when it restarts and a COM will light up.
From my experience, ODIN recognizes the devices better this way and hasn't hung for me so far (granted it's only 3 times). When I was booting into download manually and then plugging in the USB, it would hang at cache.rfs. If you don't have USB debugging enabled, then only thing you can do is keep retrying over and over. Took me like 15 tries once before it finally ran.
Can't thank you guys enough. Phone is back to normal! As soon as I didn't use the pit file it worked like a charm.
hey...i'm in the same situation as you...i can't get it to work...i'm trying to do just the tar file right now but it still hangs on cache.rfs how long did you have to wait?

It should go right away. If it's hanging at cache.rfs, then it's not working. I really think its a drivers issue with ODIN. Just keep restarting your phone and ODIN and retrying.
I used the tar file that is linked to from the second post on this thread. I didn't even download what you linked me to, I just didn't use the pit file, like you told me and it worked with the files I already had.

Hi,
Im trying to flash new firmware on my Vibrant and I have everything set up right. I click on start in Odin and it acts like it is going to start the flash but it has been stopped on "file analysis" for 10 min or so and I do not know what to do. Here is a screen shot of whats going on. Any help would be great!
Thanks!
Aslong as there is nothing in the top left box and it has been doing nothing for a good 10 minutes it SHOULD be safe to restart.
You do this by removing the usb, then removing the battery, replace the battery, restart odin and put the phone back into download mode.
By the looks of your screenshot your firmware files are bad, you should probably download a new set.

I did disconnect it form the USB and restated the phone. Everything is ok. I downloaded some the firmware again from http://samsung-firmware.com and extracted the files but the files have ".tar.md5" at the end of the files can I just rename them .tar?
Can I just rename the files?
no need. .tar.md5 is ok for odin as well.
Ok I flashed the new firmware and everything boots up but the phone will not get any service. Is there a way to fix this? I dial *#1234# and I have
PDA: I900XWJG5
Phone: I9000XXJG1
CSC: I9000OXXJG4
I'm not sure what type of "bricked" this would be but, I tried to flash my Canadian Fido S4 I337m with a MF3 modem. I did this through Odin Mobile Pro. At first it was all good, it started to restart with a blue android figure. It started to take a really long time and nothing was happening so I decided to turn the phone off. Now the phone won't turn back on and it won't connect to the PC. I have my backup saved on my sd card but I can't get the phone to load at all.
It's currently stuck the battery charging power up screen. I can't post a picture since I haven't posted 10 times apparently... So it's the grey battery icon, the circle in the middle isn't moving whatsoever.
Did a battery pull, tried starting it in safe mode, and tried to restart it in the download mode. All of which have failed.
Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks

The blue android figure is back. Does anyone have any information on how long this little android guy is supposed to be around for?

Download Odin 3.07 for the PC.... you flashed the wrong mode... I believe you flashed a US modem not a Canadian on... suggest NC1 can be found in the forum...
With the phone unplugged, press volume down +home+power if you get a warning, release buttons and press voulme up to go to download mode...
Start Odin.... important... take off auto reboot....
there are instructions on how to properly flash the modem... likely in the same thread you found the file.....
Flash only the modem.bin file inside the folder... do not flash the nonhalos file....
Most instructions sau flash once... reboot to download mode.. flash again....
Basically let me know if you can get to download mode... I tried to google blue android on screen but didn't find anything yet... first I have heard of blue... I have seen green dead ones though....

No, I can't seem to get into download mode. It just keeps heading on to the the blue android. I purchased a dongle jig to get it to download mode on ebay hoping that would work.
Method 1 Odin Mobile
Extract TAR and place modem.bin on Internal or External SD Card
Open mobile Odin (free version works but pro is awesome)
Select modem 2 and find extracted bin file
Press flash firmware button
System will boot to download
Hold power button for 10 seconds if download mode in green comes up.( should be blue)
Odin will install modem files
Done
This is what I was following. It said if it comes up as a blue android it's good.

If you put the modem file on an external sd card.... maybe you could pull the card, put it in a usb reader and put the proper modem.bin file on the card and put it back in the phone and power it up.... see what happens. I am guessing it couldn't finish the process because you have the wrong modem file...... Okay so now I realize you are stuck on the mobile odin logo... (blue guy) search google for how to get out of that or go to the mobile odin thread and ask chainfire... it is his app....
I've got the problem fixed. I re-flashed my whole firmware and managed to get the phone into download mode using a USB Jig. This is for reference if anyone encounters the same problem in the near future.
Thanks for the help and advice though.
Hi,
today i soft bricked my Note 3 because i tried to install CWM Recovery with Reactivation Lock on.
Now it shows a yellow triangle and says "Custom binary blocked by Reactivation Lock" and under that: "Secure Fail: Recovery"
I read that i can go back flashing the original stock firmware but i dont have any idea what my product code/csc is.
On the package it says ART code: SM-N9005ZWENEE
The Booklets in the package are printed in Swedish/Finish
Is there any help or do i have to send it back to Samsung?
Thanks in advance

No better way on Earth to welcome you on XDA than a soft brick.
Long story short:
0. I hope you've learned your lesson. READ, READ, THEN WHEN YOU'RE SURE THAT YOU'LL MANAGE, READ SOME MORE.
1. You need your cable and a PC, on the PC you need the latest Samsung USB drivers. You can obtain them most easily by downloading Samsung Kies, it will install the drivers for you.
2. Download, for example, this: https://mega.co.nz/#!Ld03nbgB!N5xbTBnOKrwKmsalRrmLdBY-RF8-01YbNk2QpQEcj1k + Odin (for example, from here http://www74.zippyshare.com/v/18196321/file.html )
3. Unzip the file somewhere easily accessible.
4. Turn the phone off and put it in download mode (hold simultaneously Vol Down + Home Button + Power button), until you see that big yellow triangle and some Samsung nonsense about custom OS harming your phone. Press Vol Up to confirm you want to do it.
5. Unzip Odin somewhere, then start Odin 3.07.
6. Plug the phone to the PC with the cable.
7. Odin should put out a message "Added !!"
8. Click on AP and find the .tar.md5 file you extracted in step 3, and click Open.
9. Odin will process the file and when it puts out the message "Leave CS..." see if only F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot are checked. NOTHING else. And THEN click Start.
10. After the operation finishes and your phone reboots, perform a Factory reset.
11. Go on with rooting and CWM, but check the Reactivation lock.
Good luck.

And have fun with the Nope 3, the ugliest phone on Earth, but still I wouldn't change it for anything but (probably) a Note 4 with Exynos 5433.
I was about to sell my rooted Note 4, and I did a "reset phone" in the settings menu to wipe the data out , so I can sell it. When the phone turned back I saw on the top left a blue "recovery mode" message and the next is my phone black, and on the middle of the screen appear every 5-8 sec a green android logo with "Installing System update" but just for a second, and goes back to black.
And again, and again...
What a hell happened?I am stuck.. I tried to take the battery out , waited and put it back, than I was holding the volume up+home+power on bottoms to get a recovery mode menu, but it does the same "flashing" screen thing.. Please help me I have a buyer for this phone , really need to fix it!

The pc's latest log shows ID:0/003> NON-HLOS.bin
So is it stopped ? the phone said don't turn off target, i don't want to brick it so what to do?
I had no choice i unplug it, and took out the battery, still not brick I started all over again, and now the latest log is : boot.img but the line still not moving...
binary size shows : 3793.1 mb
Update , 2nd time it was moving further.. passed boot, recovery.img, latest log : system.img.ext4. the blue line moved 1/2" and it is stopped again. I don't know what to do...

No the firmware file is correct qnd i have tested it. What is exatly happening while you flash firmware?
Ok, i used that 2nd file, and was everything perfect! I got a message on Odin : "PASS" the phone turned on, passed a Samsung logo, the T-Mobile screen turned on, and the T mobile song, and stuck on that screen....
this is a file I used a second time , and I stuck now at boot by the T-Mobile logo
N910TUVU2DOK2_N910TTMB2DOK2_N910TUVU2DOK2_HOME.tar.md5
and this file was the one stuck always at the beginning :
N910TUVS2EPG2_N910TTMB2EPG2_N910TUVS2EPG2_HOME.tarmd5
just a note, my Note 4 was rooted and It wasn't a latest firmware , actually probably like 8 months old or at least 6 month old firmware on it.
WORKING!! 100% Working. I just took out a battery , and was waiting a bit, turned it back and working! Thank You guys!!
you shoud have clear cache and data through recovery after that successful flash..
but you didn't
