Anyone here have this phone as a company phone? I'm kind of curious how it would work.
My company uses Verizon. Right now I have the Xperia Z3v but recently cracked the screen. My employer will replace my device, but I'm wondering the best route to take to try to get the Pure. The problem is they currently pay monthly for each individual phone. Obviously the Pure is only available through Motorola and at full price.
I don't care about Moto Maker (though it'd be nice), I just need a new device and there really isn't anything out there that I want.
I've had too many Samsung devices, and will not get another Sony on vzw, even if it were a choice. I'm thinking I may need to front some of the bill to get them to got with the MXP.
My MotoX is on a business account with Vz. I bought it from Moto and put in my existing SIM.

Other than purchasing it yourself, like the above poster, there likely isn't a way. Unless you're close with whoever handles the wireless account they'll probably just hand you another Sony or whatever they can get free/cheap through Verizon.
I would just ask the person in charge. I don't know your company situation but they may let you expense some or all of it over time.
I had the S6 Edge and just bought the Pure myself and swapped the SIM. Didn't tell anyone and everything works great. Verizon also.

Does anyone know tmo's exchange policy? I am on my 4th MT4G and this is one having problems. I want tmo to exchange/replace my phone with another phone of equal or lesser value. In the past they have given me this option or given me credit for the phone to apply to an upgrade.
I originally purchased the phone straight up and on the even more plus plan. I also pay for the PHP equipment bundle.
Thanks for help and hope to hear soon! If there's any more information you need then just ask.
I just ran into the same problem you have. I am on my 3rd 4g and asked them if they would do exactly what you were asking. I have the warranty purchase plan and even with that they told me at the tmobile store I was at can only offer whatever the computer gives you which is based off what HTC will give you. Each store also varies on if they will offer that as well. Why? Idk but in my case they offered me the HD7. I just laughed. So they tried calling the higher ups to see what they could do. I explained to them what was going on with the phone and the only thing he could offer me was a full upgrade discount on a different phone and I pay the difference. Not paying another $260 on another phone for one that I have had for less than year.
So in a nutshell. Tmobile will not warranty out your phone for a different brand one but they will (if the store allows for it or you gripe to the loyalty department) on a phone of the same brand. So it varies on the store you go to and it will have to be another HTC phone. Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the reply! They offered me another MT4G or a "certified open boxed" G2. Whatever the F that means. So I get another phone with which I have had terrible luck with or a discontinued phone that actually came out before my phone. I refuse to believe their bull. I have been with them for 8-10 years and have always bought their highest end phone at the time and paid full price. Thank god I am an even more plus customer, time to move to Sprint unless they can cut the bull. Their "solution" to my problems and frustration is to keep on offering me the same phone. Makes a lot of sense T-Mobile! By no means at all am I trying to pass one over on them. I simply want an equal or lesser phone. I like T-Mobile which is why I have stayed with them for so long, I will call again and see what else they can offer. But, if they continue I will move to Sprint and never look back.
Sorry for replying so late but how have things worked out? The only reason I haven't switched companies is because T mobile has been pretty good with me. There rate plans are the best and that's the only thing that has kept me around. This is the only time I have had an issue with them. I would have like to switch out like you were wanting but I am glad I didn't.I just think this is best phone for me right now. At least until I can get the samsung galaxy 2.
I just spoke with an awesome and knowledgeable rep from Google over the phone. He told me without a doubt that the N6 OUT OF THE BOX will work on Verizon. There will NOT be a special model made for Verizon and that there is TWO Models, A US & International Model THAT'S IT. He said anyone who buys from the Play Store can simply pop in their SIM and the phone will do the rest. He also stated if you need more confirmation, Just visit http://www.google.com/nexus/6/ and scroll the the bottom right and there you will see Verizon Wireless.
Some of us already knew this including myself, But i realize some of you are nervous about spending all your money just for the phone not to work. You are good to go!

Im one of the many americans who live nearly paycheck to paycheck and cant afford to pay 649 for a phone off contract, sure id love to just not feasible in my current situation. 199 on contract is perfect for me because i can sell my galaxy s4 for around that and not have to pay any "out of pocket" i know in the end im paying more but this is just easier for me, than dropping 649 all at once. With that being said im gonna start saving for it and if verzion decides to delay that long i will purchase from google.
seems like tmobile is the only carrier i can see offering this on the home screen of their site.
http://www.droid-life.com/2014/10/31/nexus-6-working-on-verizon-out-of-the-box/
or there is this...
This does not answer the question that MOST people need answered....... We don't care if the play store version will work on Verizon......most people aren't buying the play store version outright.... We need to know if the Verizon version will be locked down..... Just because it's the same hardware doesn't mean that Verizon doesn't get Motorola to flash their own version of firmware that locks out the ability to unlock the bootloader!

You're actually saving money by buying a phone on contract if you are going to use it on Verizon. The only way you save money is paying full retail and then going with a cheaper pre-paid carrier.
Ive pestered verizon online and over the phone and can't get a straight answer if they will ever carry it. Im hoping we hear something offical. From a business standpoint I can see why they would delay it. But thats TERRIBLE for customers but verizon always gets the last word as seen in all previous situations. Im fine to wait until end of Novemeber but any longer I may switch carriers. Might even be some black Friday deals
I think the nexus 6 sold by verizon most likely is a locked phone, which is why verizon store is selling the phone later than other carrier for they need to patched the phone.

I doubt it. Verizon's other high end phones have been GSM unlocked for the most part.
Verizon actually would take the least issue with selling a GSM unlocked device.
All of their LTE devices are sold GSM unlocked.
Because of the compatibility, this appears to be the first device they'll ever truly allow in a "bring your own device" fashion without pre-approving the IMEI in their database. It's good to see, and it makes sense with the push to sign customers up on Edge and the lack of contracts now.
Take it for what it's worth and with a hefty dose of salt, but someone claims to have spoken with their friend who's a network engineer and it sounds dodgy:
http://www.reddit.com/r/nexus6/comments/2lhrm2/detailed_information_on_status_of_the_nexus_6_and/
Sounds like while it may work right out of the box with an existing nano sim, you may be screwed without an existing activated nano sim. Furthermore, it sounds like the delayed release on Verizon (check out the individual page now which only mentions T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint and US Cellular) may be because Verizon is trying to change the terms of the agreement and try to get software specific to them and they may pull a Nexus One and drop it entirely.
I'm a bit concerned that even if I can get it to work from the day my GPS version arrives, they can at any time decide to block it and I'll have a phone I can't use on Verizon. If they pull that ****, I'll probably just leave for AT&T anyway, but the risk is still there.
Until Verizon officially announces something or is selling the device, those of us with a play store or motorola.com phone we've purchased are taking a risk it may not work or may work for a while and then stop working. And if Verizon decides not to "play ball" then what happens with radio updates? If there are radio bugs, we're screwed because they'd have to go through Verizon for that wouldn't they?
It would make sense if they didn't allow any unlockable bootloader phone on their network. But they are allowing Samsung to sell a dev edition Note 4.

Regarding the earlier point about whether Verizon will even carry the Nexus 6, I spent some time today at a local Verizon store looking at what my choices might be (like the Droid Turbo) if the Nexus 6 doesn't appear and asked specifically to the availability/timing of the Nexus 6 at Verizon. The manager wasn't aware of any date but did indicate they might not even carry it if the phone couldn't pass the Verizon testing and approval process. Not a answer that gives a great deal of hope but at least I didn't get the entire denial of any knowledge of status.

If vzw pulls a nexus one to htc incredible or black list imes why don't people organize and protest the fcc. Vzw is a carrier. We should have any device on their network as long as it's not harmful and they must prove harm case by case.

It is on the specs page as well as the device page (their logo) and was also mentioned on their blog or whatever. If it's all just to say it's /could/ work, then Google should honor returns well past the 14-day period because it sure as hell is misleading as hell.

Interesting; I don't see any of that here.
Just decided to get the Turbo since the N6 is taking way too long to get released on Verizon. The black friday deals helped me get the phone for $50 today so I could not resist that deal for top of the line hardware.
What I am wondering though is what the community thinks about developer support for this phone? Do you think the bootloader will be unlocked? Do you think there will be root access?
If both of those are obtained do you think there will even be enough support for the phone to have some fun with ROMs? Honestly the only thing that I want to get my phone unlocked and rooted for is to get rid of all the bloatware that verizon put on my phone. The ONLY reason. The OS is stock enough for me already but I want to get rid of all those crappy red apps along with all these amazon promotions...
So what do you think? Is it possible to get rid of the bloatware without rooting or unlocking?

Disabling apps seems to work just as well as Titanium Backup. The only real difference I can think of is that the apps are not deleted from your phone, so while being able to remove bloat without root, it appears we still cant gain the used storage space back.
Here is a useful guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/general/guide-how-to-disable-verizon-apps-droid-t2948849

Disabling apps is a good option without root. Hard to say about root or BL unlock. Right now its seems extremely unlikely it will happen any time in the near future. Only hope is that the Moto Maxx will get a developer following which is close enough to Turbo.

I have this thought in the back of my head that the Moto Maxx and its unlocked bootloader will help us obtain root and bl unlock on the turbo. Its literally the exact same phone, I feel devs may have enough freedom to play around with the files of the Maxx, and find some similarities and exploits usable on the Turbo. Just my thought. Its the same phone and with supported unlock. Its so close to our turbos.
We might get root, and probably will at some point down the road. I doubt we will ever get an unlocked bootloader. The work that goes into doing that is very substantial, and with this being an exclusive device, is very unlikely.
Question for the OP.... why wouldn't you just buy the Nexus 6 straight from Google? Why is everyone talking about having to wait for Verizon to get it? But it from Google, and activate it on your account. Simple as that.

Have you tried getting it from the Play store? lol. It's like hoping to win the lottery, except you have to play all the time, every second of the day.
if no devs working on Droid turbo.we will never ever see bl unlocked or root
like happens with Droid maxx
I'm on an old contract with a family plan and we pay $100 for the plan and $30 per smartphone. From how I understand it the plan does not make you pay for the phone over time. When you upgrade you just get that money off. So I'd be paying $400 extra for the Nexus than I'd have to.

Plus the deals they had today were just TOO good. $200 off a turbo? I couldv'e "bought" the 32gb version for free.
Don't get me wrong. I love the phone. Easily the best 5.2in phone out there. I just want to root to help battery even more and help get rid of apps I don't use while adding a few features I will.
I too jumped on the 64gb turbo yesterday. After trading in my OG Droid for $100 off the phone cost $60 after tax.. Comparing this to the N6 isn't fair.. The N6 is huge. As much as I want Nexus, and all that cones with that I just can't use a 6" phone on a daily basis..

I was really excited for the N6 since it was first announced. Being 6'5" I was sure I'd love it. Went to the store the other day and I just couldn't shake how silly it looked in my hands. Such an enourmouse device. Screen was amazing though. I wish it was 5.7" and the same shape. Then it would be slightly smaller than the Note 4 since it makes better use of screen size efficiency. That would have been perfect IMO.
Now I'm hoping the turbo gets the Dev support it needs so I have the best of both worlds!

I get taking advantage of discounts / contracts. I was just saying, I see a bunch of people saying they can't wait any longer for the Nexus to come out on Verizon, when you can already get it from Google or eBay, or Amazon... and use it with Verizon. Heck, you can but it from T-Mobile, and use it with Verizon. And was wondering why people keep saying they can't wait any longer for Verizon to carry it, when that has no impact on it working with their network, and only impacts getting it either at a 2yr agreement price / spreading payments out over 2 years.

Hello, I was wondering if any Canadians here have gotten a Moto X Force dual sim edition, and if so, what way did you get it? I can't seem to find any dual sim models that will ship to Canada.
thanks!
Does a dual sim variety even exist? I can't specifically find one. Unless the SIM/MicroSD tray can also operate as dual sim on the standard model? I purchased my Moto X Force from handtec.co.uk. Wasn't cheap with the exchange rate and duty, but I didn't care, I wanted this phone. Specs are incredible after a few months of usage, no complaints.
ONE IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE THOUGH! This screen scratches EASILY, largely due to the fact that its not glass, it's a softer plastic material despite feeling very glass like to the touch. Make sure to get a screen protector put on the moment you take it out of the box. The replacement shattershields also aren't available in Canada and I tried like crazy to have Motorola US ship me them, but they would not. You can't order them from their site unless you are shipping to a US address and paying with a US addressed credit card. I finally had to find someone in the US to buy me a couple and reship them up to me. Again, cost a small fortune, but better to have them now for the future than to need them a year or two from now and find that they are no longer available.

From my googling, apparently only the units sold in Brazil/China/Mexico are dual-sim enabled/supported. The unit you got from Handtec/UK, the EU Moto X Force units are single-sim only. They come with a tray that allows for 2 sims + microSD. What's the point of NAFTA if you can't order a phone directly from Mexico? LOL.
Does anyone know how the dual sim works on the Force? If it's Active/Standby or Active/Active? 4G/3G? Maybe I should go for the single sim model if it's going to be this insane of an effort to purchase one.

Yes, several Canadiana and U.S.A. XDA members have gotten dual sim Moto X Force from Mexico, via @Jaocagomez.
@Jaocagomez was offering that service. He lives in Mexico and was re-shipping to other countries, for a very reasonable fee. Contact him and see if he's still doing that?
FYI: I used him to get the predecessor Motorola phone (Quark - Moto Maxx XT1225) from Mexico, December 2014. Worked out very well!
He also offered the service for the Moto X Force (Kinzie). See this thread and his responses:

[X Force] How to Manually Flash Official Firmware
http://forum.xda-developers.com/dro...force-how-to-manually-flash-official-t3282077
Hi all, I'm new here. Go by the name of vapez. Glad to be here. This is great. I have been waiting for a similar phone, as I think my original droid razr is finally on its death bed. I missed the original turbo and mini, but this seems like a nice one to look for. I think we only have the moto x play available, which I almost bit the bullet and bought, but upon finding out about this and its rugged status, I think its a better fit for me, especially since the droid razr was such a tank for me.
Hey!
I ordered a Moto X Pure (2015) from someone on XDA, It's arriving tomorrow. I had a question about carriers but Verizon isn't answering my questions and its kinda frustrating.
My good friend needs a phone and wants an iPhone. I have the iPhone she wants and since mine is arriving tomorrow i was considering selling it to her so that she could have the phone she wants, i know all Verizon LTE phones come unlocked for any carrier but i think its after they are paid for in full...My question is, if i put the SIM card from the iPhone into the Moto X and i sell her the phone, will she still be able to use it on a different carrier since im not cancelling a plan, same plan, different phone?
I know this is more of a topic to ask Verizon but i have tried that and its saying my pin is incorrect even though i've checked it 4 goddamn times and its NOT incorrect. Then when i tried to contact a store, they are closed in my area...So i thought that id try here because i always seem to get pretty great and full answers.
To sum it up in a TL;DR for the reddit users: If i swap the SIM cards and sell my current phone to my friend, will she be able to use it on her own carrier, or will it not let her because it hasn't fully been paid off yet?
-Thanks!
First off, the use of foul language is not necessary.
Secondly, while I understand you are getting a Moto X Style/Pure, your question has nothing to do with the phone at all. You are asking about an iPhone you are purchasing via contract or installment plan through Verizon on a forum topic dedicated for the Style/Pure. Please go to the appropriate forums to ask this question. You are correct that Verizon would be the best source to answer your question.
