Hallo.
Just got my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 from an e-Bay trader. I think the dealer has a Chinese seat but the phone was shipped from England.
Please have a look at the photos. I also have a box of the original Polish version. It is in both cases the Exynos variant: SM-N910C.
The boxes are slightly different in the color of the printing: Polish ink is slightly darker than the new variant. On the back side of the package the dubious box has "WiFi Certified" instead of "HD Voice", which is labeled on the Polish box. Everything else is equal.
If the device is nominally a SM-N910C model, however it is sold for the Arabic market, can I assume that this device still is technically strictly equivalent to the variant for the European market never the less? Could it be that different or inferior components are used for different Markets? Does Samsung use different tolerances for different markets? Or is the device absolutely identical to the European variant?
Is there a way to check whether this device is an original Samsung Note 4 without opening the box?
Thanks for the hints!
You could watch a youtube video over the fake differences with the clones.
Just boot into download mood
take a look here, and fill out the IMEI nr

In which country is the Note 4 being produced? I know that the Polish Variant of the Model SM-N910C is produced in Vietnam. My Model is produced in China however. So is it a fake or is the Note 4 being produced in both countries? How does the SM-N910C from Vietnam differ from the SM-N910C from China? Are they technicaly identical? Is one country better" than the other? Are there different parts and tolerances being used?
Note 4's are being produced in vietnam and china....The ones being produced in china are not fake (in my country we get 910c which is made in china under official warranty). You can download an app called "phoneinfo" from playstore it will tell you whether you have a genuine samsung phone or not. The 910C being made in china and Vietnam are identical and have no difference.....no quality preference i have seen many phones from both countries. However this is my personal opinion and experience, a senior member may guide futhur on "different parts and tolerances" being used.
Dont worry about the box. In my country some people import brand new phones and ask the sellers to send phone and accessories only. They do this to avoid custom duty (which is levied on new phones only) so they pose as if they are importing a used phone. Then the use a locally made clone box to sell the phone.....the phone itself and the accessories are mostly original.
If the s-pen works while hovering above the screen then it's a real note 4.
If you turn it on, you will see right away the on the screen.
Replicas will never have SAMOLEDs and you will see right away the difference in colors and they are so obvious.
The Polish C-version, which is manufactured in Vietnam and no doubt original, has an internal memory of 24,65GB (according to Kies and Windows). The new Arabic C-version, which has been manufactured in China, has an internal memory of 24,57GB (again, according to Kies and Windows). Could this be a sign for a fake phone or are such minor differences and fluctuations normal and due to the manufactoring process?
CPU Z and Phone Info show absolutely identical hardware, only the internal memory is slightly smaller in the China-manufactured device. The China-version is slightly faster in the Antutu and Geekbench benchmarks however. So, can I now finally and definitly be SURE that the nev, China-made Note 4 is an original, genuine Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910C and is definitly NOT a fake ?
Hmm .. Could all you Note 4 owners write here which version you have, where it was manufactured and how big the internal memory is.
Many many thanks!
P.s.: Where is the N910F (Snapdragon-Version) being produced?

Yes, just instal free "Phone Info" from play store, we'll know it fake or not.
FYI: It's definitly original.. Best way to find out is the Antutu Officer..
Other possibility:
- (Samsung) Phone Info
- CPU-Z
- KIES

Yes, it's a CLONE. Like always, people are trying to manufacture gimmick devices. The poster of this video indicates it's a clone and there are numerous comments associated with this video.
It seems exactly the same phone as the n900!!

I admit, it's a good knock-off but just that, a knock-off. I would rather know (or hope) I'm getting quality components by paying a "premium" price for my device.
Well i dont want to buy it.. there was an italian store witch says me the sold the n9000 over the n900 as they sad the product is the same!
So.. big liers!

There is an n9000 model, review:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...-ebay-daily-deals-for-749-with-free-shipping/
The video though is one which depicts a cloned device. This the poster admits in the synopsis of the video and you can see people inquiring about the costs. There is a legit n9000 model by the looks of things and if you're at a reputable dealer, it's highly unlikely they will be selling you a clone. I would stay away from eBay purchases though or other online sales methods as it may be very likely you would be the recipient of a cloned device.
Simply it's not a real samsung model even if it's exatly the same as a normal n3
Right?

The video you linked to was that of a cloned model. The link I provided indicates there is a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 model n9000. If you are at a reputable dealer, they most likely would be selling you a legit Samsung branded model as they would not wish to jeopardize their reputation by selling knock-offs.
Unfortunately, in today's society, there is a huge black-market for knock-off goods. Similar looking but different. The video itself was that of a clone but I'm going to assume the one offered by the dealer is of legitimate origin and manufactured by Samsung.
It's strange.. the n9000 seems completely the same phone as the n900

To clarify... The video depicted a cloned Samsung N9000. In other words, a knock-off which could be bought at a cheaper price. If you are at a mobile retailer and they are wanting to sell you an N9000, this is a legit device. The main difference is the N900 has a OCTACORE Exynos processor which is not as fast as the N900 Snapdragon processor and also the N9000 device does not have LTE capability. The N900 device has a faster Snapdragon processor and is LTE capable.
Perhaps you lot should use the search function instead.

N9000 is the International Exynos version. N900 is exactly the same phone. They're just leaving off the last 0 as that's the model-differentiation number.

The n900 has the 5420
The n9005 has the s800
The n9000 should have the mediateck octa
Btw.. snap is not faster than exy only in gpu.. it has a very BAD math module.. it means more freq for match computation = worst arch
Nope Nope Nope people.
You're just thinking that it should be N9000 because Samsung models always have four numbers (N7100, I9000, etc) but this phone is just N900 people though it would be N9000 following their previous logic but no and thats the reason why it is named as that in eBay and other sites and this Chinese Kirf.
There's no N9000 model just N900

I think this thread has gone off topic and like another member suggested, the OP should use the search function and possibly Google for further information. Both these models are AUTHENTIC Samsung devices which vary slightly with hardware internals. The original link to the YouTube video posted was for a "knock-off" variant of one of these models. Should you wish to buy one of these models and are at a local mobile retailer in your area, they will be selling AUTHENTIC Samsung devices as they would not wish to risk their reputation by selling "knock-offs". As to the version you should buy... This all depends on what features you want and what you plan on doing with the device. This decision is up to you and if unsure, Google both models for comparison and as a last resort, speak with the store representative, explain your needs and see what they recommend. Definitely compare both models yourself though so you have a solid understanding of each. I typically do not take information provided by a sales rep with 100% accuracy.
Hope this helps!
In my experience, a real Samsung device will have the model # as the first few characters of the baseband, am I right or wrong?
My question is about determining fakes: Will a fake device have a baseband set up to look like a real Samsung baseband or will the fake device always have a baseband that looks nothing like a Samsung version?
I saw this webpage about fakes appearing in Thailand: http://www.soyacincau.com/2014/04/2...d-in-bangkok-and-it-looks-like-the-real-deal/. The basband shown in the photos looks nothing like anything I've ever seen on a Samsung device. I was just wondering if that holds true for all fakes - basically, would checking the baseband be the absolute fool-proof way to determine a fake device?
I live in Vietnam and Samsung makes their phones here. I see mobile store buying parts (still the exact parts from official phones) from unofficial sources, put it together and copy the official imei of an official phone to cheat the customers. Then they put them in boxes with seal and papers look exactly like a new phone...Those Samsung phones (most popular is note2 s4 note3 s5) works like **** and often have China battery and other parts.
The stores often tell the customers that those phone is carried from abroad and sell it at a cheaper price. (I bought mine at Samsung showroom for 800$ and they sell theirs for 600$)
It's best to buy from certified retailers.

lol.
I haven't heard or read the last one. All of samsung product is made by samsung, you won't find galaxy note 4 made by apple or sony. x.x
I believe that is their strategies to reduce shipping cost and import taxes in some country..
Later, you will also find made in indonesia because samsung has plan to make their factory in indonesia. But still don't know when that will happened and what they made in the factory, it can be their phone, tablet, tv, home appliances, etc.

I can't tell you for sure, all samsung phone and tablet that comes to my country is made in vietnam, but it should be no difference if they have good quality controls.
But as far as I read here (for note 4 ,correct me if I'm wrong), device made in vietnam have better screen curvature so TG will fit easily, I only bought 1 TG and has no halo since day 1, not like most people over here that already bought many TG.
And I also never have to return my device like few peoples experienced over this forum, so maybe I'm just lucky, or device that made in vietnam has best quality control.
And that is my experience with my old s4, my dad note 3, my note 8.0 tablet, my gf s5, and my note 4. Never had hardware issue until now, and all of them is made in vietnam.
That's just my experience though, need confirmation and experience from people that get product made by samsung factories in other country.
Hello all,
I just bought a Galaxy S5 and did some authenticity checking on it. I expected the G900F version since I live in Europe (Romania). It seems that it is the G9006V version. I chatted with a Samsung representative and he told me based on the IMEI that this is the case. I also checked out the download mode and it said the same. Antutu gave it a score of 50483 and says it has a Qualcomm 801 chipset, so at least it seems to be genuine.
I have the option of getting a refund. My question is, do I have any reason to? Are there any downsides to the Chinese version? It does have Google Play, I've read that mentioned as missing. It also came with Android 5, or so it says in the device info screen, and cannot be upgraded to a later version. Does the European version get a newer one? Will mine be able to get updates too?
P.S. The About Device Screen / Model Number displays "SM-G900F" and under Build Number there is a section called "United Arab Emirates". When I went into an info screen in the S Health app I got a screen of text in Arabic... This is weird, does it have any bearing on the software on my phone and the possibility to upgrade it in the future?
Where did you buy it? Unfortunatly this appears to be another case of a falsely labeled G900F

I ordered it from evomag.ro, a fairly reputable local webshop. I'm not aware of the story with the falsely labeled phones, could you please fill me in? Especially regarding how it affects me as a user?
Hello,
my dad is thinking about buying note 3 n9006 variant, n9005 is also an option, but price difference in our contry is huge. About 150€+ between these models. From specs I can see that only difference is internal memory, and it's ridiculous to pay that much just for extra 16GB. So I'm wondering is there any other major differences between these two models? For ex. camera quality, display quality, and overall quality of the phone.
Any input would be appreciated.
9006 China dual sim .
9005 International version .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2574886
Samsung SM N9006 is not only dual sim , I have this phone and is the single SIM variant, difference between the two phones is the model 9006 comes without the Play Store installed.
Thanks for replys. After reading whole thread @JJEgan pointed me to, we went to check our local seller that had the phone, and after checking it, I'm pretty sure it was one hell of a good clone, so we've given up on buying it.

In my country, no. Official samsungs resellers do not have Note 3 in stock and will not getting any of it. In some other stores there's a used ones, and "new" ones which appears to be clones.
If the screen was Super Amoled, which is not hard to check, then it wasn't a clone...
