Hello im using an SGS5 and i am planning to flash the cleanROM rom to my device.
Now i was told that after i flash the rom my device will be wiped though i was thinking is it possible to first backup the device and after that flashing the rom wiping every thing and then restoring the backup (twrp backup).
Im using as i said befor the SGS5 running kitkat 4.4.2.
And it will be nice if somone can give me a link to where i can dowbload or even give me ideas for other ROMS that can make my device faster and have better battery life thank you for your help and have a great day.

Warranty, well yes. But you can always gain back your warranty by flashing stock ROM. And IMEI you won t lose, if you follow the steps of flashing correctly.
If you want to backup apps and data that you have, then root your phone and use titanium backup. And if you do decide to root. Also do backup your IMEI. All the tutorials are there in the roll up thread in the development section.
Live free flash hard.
good, but i bought my phone from t-mobile macedonia.. they have modifed roms with some of their logos how to back up that rom?
you can backup by using Clock Work Mod recovery but you have to install that first. but it will backup the custom recovery with it or you can output your rom with kitchen v2.0 or 3.0.
I know your feeling i was also afraid for my first flash.. I first flashed euro 2.2 stock rom and then kryllios non oc and it was a great feeling look up on youtube how to dump your current(backup)

Hello everybody,
I just switched my Samsung Galaxy S1 (GT-i9000M Bell/Canada) to a Samsung Galaxy S4 (SGH-M919V Videotron/Canada).
I had really good experiences using custom ROM on my first one, so as a developer, I plan to contribute on SGS4 ROMS.
Anyway ...My real question is : I would like to know what are the best tools and methods to make a full system backup (Rom, modem firmware, IMEI....etc).
Thank you!

TWRP has a release out to support the S4 now. 2.5.0.0 I believe. I installed it on my non-rooted S4 yesterday using Odin and did a full system backup.
TWRP confirmed booting on my end. I'm waiting on the next CM10.1 to test nandroid out.

Have you done a full rom backup for the M919V ? Any chance you could share your backup with me I desperatly need the stock rom to fix my S4
PLEASE HELP!
My phone does not have signal. The rom is great.i wang to use it.how can i do?albe 3.5 is perfect. But the 4.6 can not work. Thank you very much for helpping me.
Which model S4 do you have? Certain models, specifically the M919, will not work with Albe's ROM.
Have you restored the stock ROM for your device? That usually will restore the IMEI.
My suggestion is that you RESTORE your backup (hopefully you made one), check that the rom is indeed intended for your specific model, google a good guide that provides you with step-by-step instructions on how to flash a rom the CORRECT way.
There is a good reason why one should do a FULL backup using a CUSTOM recovery BEFORE flashing a ROM.
Hope it ends well...
First time poster here.. Help me out yeah?
I wanna stick to the stock look on a S5 so I've ended up with Omega ROM
So my choice for a custom ROM has been narrowed down to the Omega ROM v20 based on Android 6.0.1. The installation instructions on the omegadroid website were pretty much straight forward.
But my question is do I need to flash the bootloader and modem files that are mentioned in the instructions? Or should I install them for good measure and continue with the setup?
If you can link me to a good post regarding this issue that'd be great too..
Thanks in advance,
User.:good:
If you do have the marshmallow boot loader and modem
then you are ready to flash if not flash the files provided BUT take a nandroid backup.
Happy flashing
Hi all,
Thanks in advance.... I had my Note 3 since it was launched and I think it's high time I root it & try to use it with custom built rom as the original standard rom is getting out dated & sluggish.
I read a few threads about rooting this phone and the more I read, the more confuse I got as I am not sure which is the best way to do it now.
So, if there is any kind hearted soul out there, can you point me the right direction to which thread or way that is best for rooting my Note 3.
Lastly, which custom Rom that is currently best in terms of stability? I prefer rom that is as clean as possible without those bloatwares or unnecessary apps that usually comes standard on the original rom.
My unit should be international model as it is not tied to any Telco, I am in Malaysia.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Flash TWRP custom recovery .
Use Supersu zip to root if needed .
Best rom

If you intend to use a custom ROM, there is no need to root the phone before flashing the custom ROM if you install TWRP first.
Confirm the model # of your phone in download mode before flashing TWRP as Samsung made several models of the Note 3.
Thanks so much guys, great stuff, at least there is something I can look forward to do this Christmas break....
Thanks again... Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all!

Hi, so what you are saying is if I install the right copy of TWRP first, it will do the rooting as well & put in the supersu for me?
Thanks again.
What I mean is that there is no need to root the existing stock rom with supersu if you intend to go straight to a custom ROM after flashing twrp.
Flashing supersu with twrp is needed to get root on a stock rom if you intend to stay with a stock rom.
