I'm curious if you can get insurance for a one+2 Or if I bought one from a person if the warranty can be transfered ?

So I got a letter from asurion today telling me that I am using a unregistered device on my plan. So I called them and found out that asurion is now offering insurance coverege for the nexus one. All my warranty coverage will go through HTC, but at least if loose this thing or break it I am covered. I bought my nexus originally unlocked from google because tmo wasn't supporting it for customers with family plans. At that time I could not insure the phone. Thank god I can now.

Has anyone used squaretrade insurance to replace or refund a phone purchased through tmobile?
I have a g1 purchased through tmobile that i got insured through squaretrade, and I'm wondering if anyone went through the claim process with them for a similar situation.
Specifically, did they require a receipt, since i believe they mention that on their website? The only thing i had close a receipt was the tmobile bill stating i was charged $200 or whatever, but i insured the phone for $400 since that is what it would have cost to replace. Do you know if they would honor the $400 it was worth or the $200 i was charged?

So with the new warranty and insurance plan that sprint did, would i be able to take an old phone that has rsa keys messed up (aka no 4g), and get a replacement for free or do they send it back to manufacturer and they fix it? And if I do get a replacement is it a refurb or a new one?
Or do I have to pay 150$ to asurion to get it replaced?

no i dont own Nexus S but for the people who do im just wondering did u guys get insurance? i know that bestbuy offers insurance for $9.99 which does NOT cover lost,stolen and water damaged phones.they said if u damage your phone u have to bring it or ship to bestbuy to get your brand new replacement with zero deductible.is there any other company offering Nexus S insurance besides bestbuy?

Anybody buy SquareTrade warranty? $99 for Nexus S, they have a special menu selection for the Nexus S. $50 deductible for accidental damage, no deductible for hardware/software failures like batteries. You can get it up to 30 days from date of purchase, and prorated refund if u don't want it. Covers for 2 years.
I've never bought any warranties for anything before, but might on the Nexus S. Much cheaper than Best Buy's Geek Squad Protection Plan at over $200.

I did, and I have had a claim through them before with no problems. You do however have to send your phone in and turn around time is about three days so you would want a backup of sorts.
Also got it for NS for the reason of not wanting to use a case. No problem claiming a point and shoot before.
I warranty all my phones and settop boxes with them. I never had to use one but you can cancel at anytime and get unused warranty transfered back to your credit card. You can even transfer the warranty to another person if you sell the phone. It was a great selling point when getting rid of a 3gs.
