Has anyone else had the problem where you're browsing the market on your a500, click to download an app, and it simply doesn't download?
About 70% of the time (conservative estimate) the "taskbar" shows that an app is downloading, but the "My Apps" panel in the market doesn't show that download. If I leave it alone, the taskbar reports that the download completed, but I don't see the app anywhere. I also noticed that if I'm browsing the market on my PC and I send an app to be downloaded on my tablet, if the "My Apps" panel isn't open on the tablet, the app will not download.
I'm running the stock OTA 3.1 ROM.
I get that a lot. I am forced to hit back and then select install or download the app a 2nd time. Not sure why.
I have always had this same problem ,even after updates from the Market. I hate the Market. It turns into a major thing just trying to download anything. It's very frustrating and takes 10 minutes of trying, trying again, cussing, connection time outs. Its pretty bad when we have a Android device and its a Android market and they still can't get it right. Maybe it's a Honeycomb thing? Maybe they should call apple and get some advice?

+1
common issue
Go into settings
Application
Manage applications
Browse to the market app
Clear app data.
This will sometimes fix that issue but only for a while
Worked for me
Good luck
I've had the same problem. Running Taboonay custom ROM version 2.0.
market
Same here have had that problem and so does wife. I get a kick out of wife she gets frustrated and impatient and swears at it.....lmao
So for a while there I was having the same issue. I went into clock work recovery and wipe dcache and battery stats and now all is well again. I would recommend that.

My issues seems to be that when I try to pull down an app, it tells me that it is unable to purchase. And suggestions?
I've had that a few times where I couldn't purchase an app. I found that purchasing through the online market works fine and auto-installs into the right device. It might have something to do with the lack of phone and IMEI number; could be wrong though.
Also, buying stuff with my phone then installing on my tablet works fine.
Go to settings applications Tonto market app then clear . Simple fix. Simple fix
Tried all this stuff still dont work
So i tried all this stuff and it still wont even download anymore it just FC when i click the my apps button FC this is really annoying. Went to market on pc it even says the app is installed on my device and it is soooooo not. Saw on another thread someone said Google was blacklisting users they know are rooted which i think is just dumb and dont believe, who cares what we do to the device we are still running android and want to purchase apps from the store. super lame well gonna try few other things then guess reinstall rom and kernel and see if that helps thank got for titanium backup
Not sure if this is the right place to post or not.
I just purcahsed a new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Set it up and noticed the Android Market Icon was still there??? Went to download some apps and it prompted me to download Playstore. After Playstore was downloaded imediatly started freezing up and forcing close. Uninstalled, re-booted, reinstalled again and same problem. Unistalled, did master reset, did another initial set-up, went to Playstore and same problem. Wasted an hour of my life on the phone with T-mobile customer care and tech support then wasted another 35 minutes with Samsung tech support with no positive outcome. So this moring I turn to the internet and the real experts. Doing a quick google search I see that in the past week or two there have been a huge influx of Playstore complaints that sound similar to mine and it appears they are not device or carrier specific. Has Google come out an said there is a problem? Anyone else on here having any issues? FYI, I did confirm that I am running the most recent updates.
I checked and I do have the most recent system update on my device. I am not a "geek" but have been using Android devices since before they were availabel to the public and this Samsung is my 6th Android device so I am not a newb, that being said I am ready to throw my new Tab through a wall because I can usually work my way through glitches and get them corrected on my own. I was using a crappy old Viewsonic G-Pad before this, I thought I was upgrading but thet old rooted G-Pad is far better than this garbage.
Thanks in advance.
so are you saying you are on android version 4.0.4? that version should have come with the "play store".
I haven't had any issues myself, but you can try going into settings-applications, and then select the market/play store and clear data and cache. You can also uninstall updates if it still acts up.

Yes, it is version 4.0.4 yet it has an Android Market icon not a play store icon, I was very suprised when I saw that icon, I have not seen it in months on my other devices, i thought it was a thing of the past. Once I go into android market and try to install an app it then tells me I need to upgrade to Play Store, I click continue, download play store and that is when all hell breaks lose. Once I unistall the Play Store update it runs fine until I try to download another app through the market.
Not sure if this could help, but have you tried, instead of the factory reset, clearing data on Play Store and Google Services Framework, restarting and trying again? Ran into some Play Store trouble this past week and this seemed to solve it
I am having the same problem. I just got this 10.1 t-mobile tablet. I can't do anything because it is constantly popping up saying play store has stopped unexpectedly. I have uninstalled the update, cleared the data and cache. Nothing is working. I am essentially dead in the water as this pops every 30 seconds.
Saw the same problem on my friend tab
My only solution was to root and put cm9 on it. Works great now.

Anyone else having this problem? I'm guessing it's something wrong on Google's side, as I could install apps before. Now nothing will install or download. I cleared data and cache for the Google Play app and even factory reset my phone.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I was having the same issue before. I fixed it by visiting Google play on my computer and when you install an app there it let's you send it to your device so I did that once and ever since I have been able to download and update from my actual phone just fine.

Thanks I tried that, but it's still not working. A notification sound keeps beeping every 2 minutes or so but I get no notification.
I can install paid apps, but no free ones.
All fixed now, must be a wifi issue, as I can install any apps over 3G internet.
Long story short: since yesterday I have been unable to update any installed apps, or install new ones. When I try to do so, the app shows in-store as "downloading" but nothing actually happens and it's stuck at this stage forever. Stopping and restarting the service doesn't fix this, nor does completely powering off and on. Internet through the browser works as usual, as do all internet-enabled apps. I haven't installed or removed any software recently - the only change I did in the past 2 days is flash a new CWM recovery (went from 6.0.1.0 to 6.0.1.9) but I don't see what this has to do with the store.
I had this happen to me. If you go into settings > apps and clear data from Google Play Store, that fixed for me.

What rom are you using?
Stock. However I'm still on 4.1.2 - I blocked OTA updates until the current 4.2/4.2.1 bugs are fixed.
It's a long shot, but you can try to install the latest Gapps package from recovery. Or remove and re-add your Google account.
Would you happen to know where I can find the latest gapps package? Thanks!
(edit) found it http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121130-signed.zip
Edit2) Oops the 11/30 gapps don't work with 4.1.x anymore, will try 10/11 instead.

Since you're on a 4.1.2 rom, get the one for CyanogenMod 10.0.x
I same issue last night. Downloads were very slow. All stock on latest ROM.

Holy f*! The browser works, however downloading through the browser doesn't. I get "download starting" then nothing happens. Same with Chrome. I quickly checked if I'm not out of storage space - no, I have 8GB free. WTF is going on?
I figured it out. last week I was trying to solve my battery drain problems (can't find the thread anymore) and I ended up disabling the media storage service. That apparently disabled any app from downloading anything. I have re-enabled it and now can download. The store works, browsers work etc. I just hope that the battery hogging doesn't happen again.
When I have play store issues I just sign out of Google talk and sign back in and it fixes my problems .. also close the market after..

Doesn't matter if you use Google talk or not... For some weird reason the play store uses Google talk some how it may be to authenticate

If you can't download at all, a good method can be to clear data from "Google Framework Services" , delete google Account, reboot, recreate your Google Account.
I had the same problem. Enable download manager fixed it for me. After I did that all the apps I had tried to install started downloading and play store stayed open and did not force close.
Settings>apps>all>download manager

Hello,
Hope I am posting in the right place. This is the one game I wanted to get going on switch android. Has anyone got this game to run? I validated all the files and it loads up but gets stuck at the kotor logo screen.
Any ideas to get it working or does anyone know why it wouldnt work? So far Ive tried GLtools to spoof gpu/cpu in an attempt to get it to maybe work but no luck there either.
Thanks

Great ideas, both appear to come installed with the 8.1 switch android and I made sure they are up to date. Seems to be another problem getting it working.
Didn't tested but my hint is try using gltools to spoof another hardware to the game. Helps when I wanted to run rr2 in my s8, and seems that people are getting fortnite to work using it.
Working great for me, didn't have to spoof anything or do anything special, works right out of the box. In-game screenshot here.
Maybe try waiting a bit on the splash screen, it takes about 30-45 seconds for me to load up.

At least I know it can work. Thats strange mine wont get past the boot logo. I downloaded it from the play store current version.
My sd card seems fast enough android assistant says boot time is 2:00 to load into android and everything seems fast. Whats your boot time about?
Ya I can't get past the boot logo either. Always crashes when I push a button on a joycon or just hangs there till I exit. @spenat how did you install the game?
Absolutely nothing special: Just installed it from Amazon Appstore and played. Nothing more, nothing less.
Now that I think of it: Maybe there is a different version in Amazon Appstore, than on Google Play..?
Play store, Amazon app store and downloading the apk all cause the same issues. @spenat did you install shiedlier, magisk or the joycon fix?
I have installed following mods/updates:
- Shieldifier (and updated the Nvidia App)
- Magisk (latest)
- Joycon fix
That is it, not sure if it could have any impact on that.
Weird, nothing I do can make it work
If it's of any help, my KOTOR version is 1.0.9.
I have also recorded a short "test" video of the loading time (and a very short portion of gameplay).
What menu or app are you using to open the file?
It's a launcher called "ATV Launcher".
So I have bought it from Google and Amazon. Downloaded patched version. Clean wipe and fresh install on a new SD card. And nothing. Just hangs at the logo forever,
Same issue here, crashes on boot logo.
A thought, have you tried noting without the joy cons connected?
What KOTOR version are you using? Maybe try side-loading the KOTOR app (look for version 1.0.9).
I haven't tried launching the game without the joycons connected, will try and report back.
I have tried the 1.0.6 on google play, 1.0.7 on amazon, 1.0.9 underground and a bunch others and all do the same thing
hmph just hangs here too is this guy trolling? not cool gonna try atv launcher
just tried no luck there either.
Are you logged into the amazon game service? it wont let me do that...
do you also own this on a legit shield?
I am not "trolling", you can watch my video above - the game is working fine for me... No, I am not logged into amazon game service.
Also no, I don't have the game on Shield device, I don't even have one. I have it in Amazon Underground app store since a long time ago.
