OK,
I was not too impressed with the new icon and look of 2.6 but...
Now that the visuals have been accepted, I see a definite improvement.
One being memory, as I get 550mb of used memory after hibernation has been manually completed, or automatically in lock screen.
Before I would get about 650mb used on average.
Speed has improved as well with the new xposed framework. I think it is mostly due to how the xposed modules are loaded, and how well the apps are hibernated.
Though, Wanam xposed still has a few bugs that have been ignored by the developer, the ability to change button settings in Display are still hidden. You can disable wanam and reboot to change the button settings in Display, and enable wanam before rebooting to get around the limitation.
Kb/s seems to lock now... before it would randomly go away during hibernation or reboots, thus needing to go into the module and toggle the setting.
So far with Xposed getting better and better, having a fully functional stock ROM does not mean your missing out on options and performance.
Here is a list of Xposed modules that I run on 4.2.2 that work very well.
3dot Mod
Burnt Toast
Complete Action Plus
CrappaLinks
Disable Location Consent
Downloads2SD
GoogleOfflineVoice
Greenify (Experimental Features)
MinMinGuard
Network speed indecator
Play Store link in App info
ReceiverStop
S-pen Only
SPDY
Secure Samsung Clipboard
Wanam Xposed
YouTube AdAway
Battery improvement update!
OK I did an hour test using a 720p video file running MX media player, set with volume at 50% on the speakers, and 30% brightness with Power saver Disabled. The settings are good for personal use in a quiet room with adequate lighting.
I was able to watch one full hour with 10% battery drain. WIFI enabled, and everything but OTA setup for syncing. My apps are setup with a dummy google account that has sync disabled, so all the data and email are with my proper accounts.
This is a great improvement, as I always had to use power saver enabled to get that type of battery usage.

I use it to get the best battery life possible. It is the only way to disable Samsung's DVFS, and allow for Greenify to fully function to maintain RAM usage.
I get 550mb used after tablet wakes from sleep. I can go at least 8 hours on a charge doing normal activities. With power saver off I get about 5 to 6 hours on usage time.
It all depends on what apps you run, and how you use your tablet. Heavy video editing, GPS and rebooting will drain the battery down faster.
I recommend, never turning off the tablet to charge. If you need to reboot into lock screen and then charge while in hibernation.
The reason is it takes 10 minutes for the OS to settle after loading. It can consume up to 6% of the battery once started up and fully charged.

I donno... Nobody has posted real world specs for what they get with 4.4.2 or modded 4.4.2, though custom kernel ROM will be faster if overclocking the CPU. Since there is no real good heat transfer to cool the CPU / GPU, the batter gets beat by the heat and current drain.
1.6ghz does a fine job when the apps you run are for the most part bug free. The most recent BBC Iplayer/media player, MXplayer, Netflix all do very well with cpu / gpu management along with image quality.
I just noted that Google fixed some issues with a few apps, as I was going to comment that last weeks Google apps have a memory leak or keeps google services running. Now since they fixed it a few days ago, I get 550MB used after wake up and ready 95% of the time, when for a week prior I got 700MB average. And that is with sync and wifi on.
I am ol skool, if it works don't break it, use it.
I don't do benchmarks, as they have little to do with real world performance. It is your apps and how you setup your tablet that makes all the difference.
Hi all,
I've been trying to squeeze as much battery as I can from my Note 4, I've just got GSam to monitor my processes and see what may be eating up battery.
Within the app it has a section called app sucker, under the header android system there is a subsection called "silent logging" along with many many others, does anyone know what this is? Can it be killed or if it's even needed? There are another 30 something processes as part of android system.
I'm not rooted and afaik I simply have to put up with these things.
Battery life isn't great for me at the moment which is why i'm digging a little deeper to find the culprit.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm fully rooted and I have plenty of battery saving apps like greenify, amplify, I have my DVFS disabled, using just good connectivity network most of the time, tons of bloatware freezed and I still get around 3-4 of SoT. Don't worry man, you could definitely be in a worse situation.
Aye you're right, I just expected more.
Trying to figure out what is destroying my battery. Rooted boefella kernel amplify greenify and a few other xposed mods like adaway for YouTube
I'm on 2.2.1 with boeffla + some battery saving settings and I'm getting the high OS+system drain as well
I'm on 2.2.0 weird. Getting close to 2:30 hr sot
First of all grab BetterBatteryStats to get a deeper look into what's using your Battery. Second consider to get rid of XPosed and especially Greenify. Test this for a view days and report back.
i get like 1 hour ost is that normal foe my g928f and how can i improve it because its terrible
Depends on what you are running. May be a heavy custom rom, or if on stock, a lot of background services. Consider deleting apps you don't use. Greenify also puts apps to sleep when not in use, so it could be used as well.

root your device and download kernel auditor. if you can change cpu governor to power save or conservative, or lower cpu speeds to consume less power.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-runinbackgroundsetter-v1-0-t3637705
get that app which allows you to control which apps can run in the background.
install xposed framework and get amplify and greenify. also get gravity box just because it has tons of useful stuff.
You have to replace your battery.
Once it goes on this phone, it goes!
It's not expensive to do.
Infact I changed my glad back and lens covers at the same time.

No, it's not miui matter.
I sleep arround 4 hours and it just drain 2% (from 75% to 73%).
I think ur device draining faster is because ur background apps, services, or etc. :fingers-crossed:

Is ur bootloader still locked or u have unlock it?
i go to 2 different service centre
both say
battery drain because high specification+background running app.
battery drain ing with(more)/without(less) use of mobile.
no other solution for it, at present.

Yeah, it can also be a reason for sure.
But, the 3rd installed apps, the services of the bloatware, or the background cached app, it can also make ur device drain more faster.
Mine got 9h SOT.
+ Debloat all mi apps (except music, calculator, calendar, etc)
+ Installed module (magisk): lkt and sys config patcher
+ Flash Evira kernel 2.0
+ Installed apps: naptime and kernel auditor to change the governor of kernel to alucardsched
Now i feel freedom.

I think it because of xiaomi service (framework).
I have debloat it with the saki tool, non-root user can use too.

You can backup first one by one, after you ready, you can unlock ur bootloader, be safe :fingers-crossed:
It seemed to me that VoLTE might be causing battery drain on my Note 7. After a few hours of not using the phone, where I'd normally expect the battery level to drop by 0.5% an hour, it was much more than that. Although I have to admit that I sometimes used Whatsapp Web in those periods and one of those cases might have been affected by that. I'm also using 2 SIM cards, both on 4G but the other carrier does not support VoLTE, so it was always off.
So to test things out I've had VoLTE disabled for a few days now and idle battery use seems to be more economical. This is inconclusive, I have to test with and without VoLTE for a bit longer, but have you guys maybe experienced this?
Regarding the Li-Po battery, as it is non-replaceable, I started taking better care of it than on my previous phones. I use AccuBattery to notify me to unplug the charger before the battery reaches 80%. Also, I tend to charge it from 15 to 75% or so whenever I don't need long battery hours. I recharge fully if I know I'll need a lot of juice, but the phone's battery is quite large, so I'd like to preserve it when possible. Battery University says frequent deep discharges (nearing 0%) are harmful to your battery, while AccuBattery says the only issue is high voltage (when the battery is at 80–100%). They coincide in the high voltage issue, but AccuBattery tries to disprove BU's claims about deep discharges.
To be on the safe side, I'm trying to keep it in the middle for now. What are your opinions about this?
My phone battery was at 27% before I sleep. I put it in economy mode and when I woke up (4 hours later) it was 12%.
I desativate all my background apps, Facebook, Whatsapp and even so it is drainning so fast.

Xiaomi Service Framework is a bloatware that Xiaomi mainly uses for data gathering.
Also MSA can be disabled too.
