As far as I know, excluding the US carrier specific variants, the unlocked HTC Ones comes in either a HSPA+ 850/900/1900/2100 MHz variant, or an HSPA + LTE 1800 (only) variant.

Is that from HTC's official website? the specs on its UK page don't have LTE at all listed for the unlocked device.
Mobicity's the only one at present selling an unbranded/unlocked LTE enabled variant:
Network Band: 4G/LTE 1800, GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900, 3G 850, 3G 900, 3G 1900, 3G 2100
So yeah, it's all a bit confusing at the moment. Damn expensive at mobicity, i must say.

Well qualcomm is releasing a new chip later this year that solves that problem.

Hong Kong

Hey everyone, thanks for taking the time to try and help me out! I am possibly going to spend about 4 months in Hong Kong, starting with this upcoming January. I am really having trouble figuring out if this phone can be used there. It seems like it has the bands for most of the 3G networks there, but can anyone possibly help me confirm this? I would also love LTE, but I don't think this phone has the proper LTE bands for Hong Kong. I tried contacting T-Mobile (I currently have Verizon but may get T-Mobile there), and they told me to contact a Hong Kong carrier. I found the number 2 carrier there, and sent them emails and Facebook messages, and have not heard back. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Basically, I just want to know if the MXPE supports 3G and/or LTE bands in Hong Kong. If it does, I won't have to buy a phone to use while I am there. Thanks!
P.S. The Hong Kong carrier I am looking at is Hong Kong China Mobile.
Well here are the bands that the US MXPE supports:
GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
UMTS/HSPA+ (850, 900, 1700 (AWS),1900, 2100 MHz)
CDMA (800, 850, 1900 MHz)
4G LTE† (B1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 25, 26, 38, 41)
According to the LTE wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks#Asia
HKCM uses LTE bands 3, 7, and 40
Looks like bands 3 and 7 are pretty prevalent in HK, so chances are that you'll get LTE (but obviously not 100% guaranteed).
3G wise it looks like they use: UMTS 850, UMTS 900, UMTS 2100 - so you should at least get 3G.

Awesome! It seemed like I was gonna get 3G but I was having trouble making sure that I would get LTE. Mainly because I looked at a Xiaomi Hong Kong phone and it mentioned FDD and I think TDP LTE and I was really confused!
My wife's Nexus 6 got LTE on the local PCCW carrier (now called csl) in Hong Kong earlier this year. So if the Moto X has the same bands for LTE you should be good to go.
As a side note my Nexus 5 did not get LTE but I was still very impressed with the 3G speeds. Wish the US has speeds like that for 3G.

Really appreciate the feedback. I will most likely do either csl or China Mobile Hong Kong, depending on pricing and reception.

Smartone might be worth taking a look at also.
FYI not all prepaid plans have 4G or LTE. csl just started offering it on prepaid within the last year. I don't know what other carriers have LTE on prepaid so you will need to do some research.
I am a local HKer, using CSL and my Moto X Style from the UK can access all the LTE band in HK. We mostly on 1800/2600 Mhz that is Band 3/7. I remember the Pure from the US do support the HK bands. I almost bought the US version to use in HK, but given up because Moto Maker doesn't allow me to proceed without a US credit card.

I use UK version of the MOTO X STYLE in Hong Kong too:good:

Lack Of Band 20 In The UK ?!

Apparently the ZUK does not have full spectrum coverage - is that a major issue for people living in the UK?
I think only O2 uses the Band 20 range exclusively for 4G - but even if you miss out on that, would it still work on 3G?
Basically, is the ZUK a good choice or a bad choice for folks in England?
(If it is a bad buy, then what other Dual Sim phone is better and in the same price range?)
Same in germany, depending on the provider and region.... Band 20 is often used in villages etc.
You can check with http://www.willmyphonework.net/
Of course 3G still works.
Personally i don´t miss LTE tho. As long as we have no real flatrates here for stuff like LTE i see no point in having more bandwith...
It doesn't affect me as I am too tight to pay for LTE anyway and 3G is just about good enough for my needs. If LTE became cheaper than £10 per month I might be bothered - though I'm on EE which is not band 20 anyway.
I am puzzled though why Lenovo didn't just enable band 20 anyway. I could understand if they just planned to sell the phone in China and India but they have officially launched it in Europe as well. Maybe they don't want it to sell too well in Europe because if it did maybe Apple and Samsung would start throwing patent suits at them.
Because the band isn´t on the SoC they use imho.
Oneplus One, Xiaomi Mi4 etc they all lack band 20.
TDD-LTE (band 38, 39, 40, 41)
FDD-LTE (band 1, 3, 7)
TD-SCDMA (band 34, 39 )
WCDMA ( 850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz)
CDMA2000 ( 800 MHz)
GSM/EDGE( 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
CDMA( 800MHz)
I use it in Edinburgh with Three. No problems.
Working fine on Vodafone (London).
I can't use 4g in Southport. Not happy as I was told I would be able to. Having said that My Nexus 5 hardly ever got 4g off 3 here and it was slower than h+.

Atleast read up The chip has band 20.
I'm on GiffGaff and can't get 4g. I live in an area near Liverpool where 4g coverage on giff gaff is poor anyway so not too bothered.
Any solution to activate band 20 in the Z1?

Straight Talk Compatibility

Will the ZTE Axon 7 A2017(6GB +128GB version) Support Straight Talks AT&T network? Currently I have a Oneplus X and the networks it supports are as follows
2G GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900
3G HSDPA: 850, 900, 1700, 1900, 2100
4G LTE: Band 1(2100), 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 5(800), 7(2600), & 8(900
All of these Bands are for USA. I'm not exactly sure on how to find out if certain bands support it. I was wondering if someone could shed some light on it for me. Any help would be much appreciated.

Axon has Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17, 20, 25, 26, 29, 30
So yes.
Im Using the US Version of the Axon 7 through straight talk ( Verizon towers with straight talk ) The only issue I have is keeping LTE but I believe that is a CDMA issue like everyone else has been seeing as far as I can tell.
From what I am gathering the only model with the 6GB +128GB is Chinese. Is this also correct?

Two thing to note.
1. The 6GB/128GB version of the Axon 7 is a chinese model - just get the A2017U. I know it is only 4GB/64GB but trust me you will be just fine.
2. I have the A2017U and I am on Straight Talk. Buy the 99 cent "bring your own phone" nano sim card. I am using it right now. When you put the sim card in it, google the APN settings so those are right, and then (and I can't stress this enough) TURN OFF VOLTE! All the complaints of bad cell reception from Verizon CDMA towers will not affect you if you pay the 99 cents and get the AT&T compatible sim card. This is seriously the best cell reception I have ever had, and I have been on Straight Talk since day 1.
I'm on ST with ATT with the U.S. model. Works fine. I don't know why you'd need the Chinese model. You can plop in a 256GB micro SD card if you want storage.
The Chinese A2017(6GB +128GB version) is missing all of the LTE bands used by US carriers (including Straight Talk AT&T). You will only get 2G / 3G on it.
