Hi all,
So I recently bought a new genuine note 4 Battery off of Amazon (bargain at £12!) and I'm just wondering about what's the best way to start using it?
The reason I ask is currently i'm currently running stock 4.4.4 BTU (before I was running 5.01. BTU) and I have the issue with the battery either going from 15% to 0% in minutes or sometimes it just turns off at 10% (like literally the phone just dies)
I've tried everything from a restore, new firmware, old firmware and event reset the battery status via the service menu. I'm just worried that i'll insert this new battery and may have the same issues, perhaps I'm looking into things too much?
Or should I give one of the new 5.1.1 roms a go?
Thanks.

ive only had that battery issue when i was using an old iphone 4s, i think a new battery should behave like a new battery and not have magic disappearing charge %
Yeah, I think it might just be the battery. Give the 5.1.1 roms a go. I installed one on my Z2 and it was better battery wise. I am still waiting for the update on my Note 4 G variant, I hope it will also make things better.

I have a brand spanking new Phone and i would like to know what the best and most stable stock rom version is.
my Phone is a EU open Phone and currently has the V10a firmware and first possible update is V10e
id like to stay on 4.2/4.3 rater then kitkat and want the most stable battery life i can get..
Just like my lg 4x hd where V10h was the best rom im facing 1 what seems to be typical lg issue and thats random drains at random times.
I for example charged my Phone last night took it off the charger and in the graph in 12 hours it drained 7 % of which 1% was idle drain (no simcard in it yet , wifi on everything else off) it drained really slow as expected apart from 6 hours in then it drained 6% in notime and went back to draining slowly.
my 4x hd had the same random drains and i never got it fixed so im really bummed out this lg also has it.
its a brand spanking new clean Phone nothing messed with still straight out of the box.
if this a known problem and if so what version rom fixes it.
and are there newer roms with better battery life. or is it all equal and pointless to update.
the update to v10e just saiy "internet" under patchnotes which is verry vague and i know nothing about what 10b,c,d have fixed or caused nore can i find any information about it...
so any info concerning this issues/updates would be elcome as i ahve bin unable to find anything about it and dont want to update as downgrading is not something im comfortable with.
I have Note 4 SM-910C Unrooted international on stock ROM 5.0.1.
my problem started with battery charging to around 80% then stops or take like 5 hours to reach 100% then when I use the phone battery suddenly drops from 20-30% to zero.
if I remove the battery then reinstall it reads 16-18% but may drop back to zero.
when turned off while charged it charges to 100% normally
It is irrespective of charger/cable i use (2mA).
tried hard reset and battery calibrate (non-root) but no good.
Any help with this problem

Sounds like your battery has gone rogue so you might wanna buy a new battery. A great example why not to buy Note 5 lol.
Maybe it's a bug in your rom build so why don't you try and upgrade from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1.
I have not used stock roms since the s2 days and after using custom roms I have never looked back.

i have the same problem with my N910F.. at 20% my phone dies.. like today it was 20% dropped to 4% in an instance and then died..
this is happening since upgrading to 5.1.1 (dirty)..
is it possible to fix this with a factory reset ?
Try Battery calibration and battery repair from the store... If it's not doing something, then replace the battery
make sure your battery is fully charged. From dialing interface typing in *#0228# to check battery info and clicked "quick start" at the bottom of the screen, then your battery will drop down quickly, try these steps several times.

Yeah, Samsung has a solution. Buy a new phone as they will never update the 1 year old one even though they ****ed it up...
As much as Iove Note family I am more and more pissed with Samsung and eventually will stop buying their ****.... Already done with their watches by the way...
Definitely a degraded battery problem.
I got a new battery and problem now solved.
I have the same problem and already bought a new battery but the issue continues.
(Sorry for my English)
Hey there. My friend sold his soul to devil and bought himself Iphone 6s.
He was planning to sell his note 3 but I told him to give it to me for a few weeks to see if it works well.
I completely wiped everything and flashed stock rom from odin. I wanted to try out some custom roms but there seem not much to try with n9000q version.
Anyway the thing overheats in a few minutes and battery acts stupid. While it is at 80% device reset itself and boots with 45% battery left (so it says) then climbs back to 57-58%. Then resets again and come back with 1%
It overheats around its camera. I am wondering if replacing battery would solve these problems or not.
Not more than likely .
Hi, i have SM-N910U device and the original new battery. But, why my battery draining so fast? Currently i using MM 6.0.1 official. Not rooted device. I’ve done lot of things to keep battery stable. But it seems not working. The battery drained so fast. This is malfunctioned of seri U or what? Thanks for the answer
What do you mean by "original new battery"? Do you mean the original battery that came with the phone? Or you have recently purchased an "original new battery"?
If you have recently purchased a battery it is almost guaranteed not to be an original Samsung battery as they do not make them any more - it is probably fake. Buy a RavPower battery and see how it goes. Same if you're still using the battery that originally came with the phone - get a RavPower. You might also want to try a factory reset and set your phone up clean again - this made a big difference to mine about a year ago when my battery was draining fast.

Three possible curlpits: Your apps, the battery, or the firmware
Battery—fake battery will die fast, according to what others say
Apps—some apps are battery hungry, so find a way to hibernate those with Greenify or Hibernation Manager
Software—Android 6 is the last and worst update for performance and battery life. While it's on KitKat (4.4), its battery life was awesome; fast forward to Lollipop (5.0.1–5.1.1), from 12 hours of Screen On Time (SOT), it got decreased to 8 hours; and fast forward again to Marshmallow (6.0.1), it became from 8 hours to 3 hours. No matter what kernel or battery-saving methods you use, it's futile for a firmware that rots a powerful phone. The only way to fix this is by either using a custom ROM (Refined Nougat, Note 5/7 ported ROMs, etc.), or downgrading your firmware. (Installing KitKat with the latest bootloader prevents you from downgrading).
With a new battery on MM stock and unrooted I was getting 6 hours SOT (Exynos). Dropped off now after using the battery for 18 months, but soon upgrading to Note 9 or 10 anyway.
Hello Everyone,
It seems like my phone is having this issue for a long time. I started noticing it after installing latest stock Oreo rom rooted version from this page
(https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/stock-rom-lg-v20-h990ds-h990ds20a-idn-t3890697)
My phone always seem to die at 20% battery. I have tried replacing battery many times but it doesn't seem to work. Is there any chance it may be this custom kernal's issue/misbehaving or is my phone's motherboard faulty. ? Is there anyone else facing same issue ? Please help

I had the same problem it is most of the time the battery that starts to degrade and when it hits 20 per cent has way too little voltage to keep the phone running. Try going back to full stock no root on nougat not oreo then root it again and try installing another H990DS rom I am using the stock flashable oreo I forgot the link but it is the Indian variant

Thank you friend for replying. I will try flashing stock nougat today or tomorrow using lgup tool and let you know. So just one question, did your issue of phone shutting down at 20% got resolved by changing battery or flashing stock oreo ?

In my experience, never use OEM battery. most of the time those are 2000mah crap.
so, in my opinion, better get unofficial 3200mah or 4100mah or larger battery from reputable battery company on your country or import perfine/shenmz/other reputable ones (look on lgv20 subreddit for more info if importing) if possible.
