About battery SM-N910U - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i have SM-N910U device and the original new battery. But, why my battery draining so fast? Currently i using MM 6.0.1 official. Not rooted device. I’ve done lot of things to keep battery stable. But it seems not working. The battery drained so fast. This is malfunctioned of seri U or what? Thanks for the answer

What do you mean by "original new battery"? Do you mean the original battery that came with the phone? Or you have recently purchased an "original new battery"?
If you have recently purchased a battery it is almost guaranteed not to be an original Samsung battery as they do not make them any more - it is probably fake. Buy a RavPower battery and see how it goes. Same if you're still using the battery that originally came with the phone - get a RavPower. You might also want to try a factory reset and set your phone up clean again - this made a big difference to mine about a year ago when my battery was draining fast.

Three possible curlpits: Your apps, the battery, or the firmware
Battery—fake battery will die fast, according to what others say
Apps—some apps are battery hungry, so find a way to hibernate those with Greenify or Hibernation Manager
Software—Android 6 is the last and worst update for performance and battery life. While it's on KitKat (4.4), its battery life was awesome; fast forward to Lollipop (5.0.1–5.1.1), from 12 hours of Screen On Time (SOT), it got decreased to 8 hours; and fast forward again to Marshmallow (6.0.1), it became from 8 hours to 3 hours. No matter what kernel or battery-saving methods you use, it's futile for a firmware that rots a powerful phone. The only way to fix this is by either using a custom ROM (Refined Nougat, Note 5/7 ported ROMs, etc.), or downgrading your firmware. (Installing KitKat with the latest bootloader prevents you from downgrading).

With a new battery on MM stock and unrooted I was getting 6 hours SOT (Exynos). Dropped off now after using the battery for 18 months, but soon upgrading to Note 9 or 10 anyway.

Battery life decreasing...

Ok, so I've had my SGN for little under a month for the first few weeks I had it I was getting great battery life, almost 6 hours screen time full day of battery etc.. Then I rooted it using one click root because I wanted some more access, since then battery life has seemingly been slowly getting worse. I have tried changing back to stock roms and custom roms, I've fully discharged the battery and charged while it is off a number of times but I'm down to 3 hours screen time and can't get a full day out off it anymore.
Is this something to do with the way I rooted, what can I do test and try and get back my battery life, this is the main reason I got this phone..
It's hard to say if it was the first update I installed/rooting or something wrong with the way I'm charging but it's certainly decreased even on a stock ROM without installing anything..
Anybody else encountered this?
Check battery stats and show us a print screen

Going to try latest firmware and just bought Odin mobile.. Hoping that'll fix it.
Won't let me add a picture says I don't have permission.. Sigh.

I have the same "feeling" with my Note. I have installed System Panel to monitor usage but I can't find anything specific that seems to be sucking the power. But it certainly "feels" like my battery is draining faster than before.
It's probably as the phone gets older, you install more & more Apps. Some of these are probably working in the background sucking your battery.

Even with a clean stock rom, it doesn't seem as good as it was without root or any updates.. Wish I remembered what the phone came loaded with, I'd give that a go..

Try Rocket Rom v17 or latest XXLA1 firmware and your battery life will come back even better than before, just me
Same "feeling" here! I will try LA1 firmware....
So I'm currently sitting on 4.30 hours screen time, 15 hours uptime with 20% battery remaining.
Running la1 firmware and la3 modem, been using stock browser. Taking lots of photos with flash too, so I think this combo has rectified my issues but I know there's more potential as this is roughly the same stats I got on my dhd, although that was underclocked and tweaked to the clappers.
Faith is resetored in my device, hopefully it improves.

[Q] Charging really slowly after AOSP flashing?

First of all, my phone is a year old. Second of all, its battery life has been starting to get worse in the beginning of this year.
However, it has never been this fast draining or taking this long to charge (so far charging about 2 hours and 62%).
I flashed this Google Edition rom + the kernel and right after that started the noticeable battery drain.
Before I was on stock Touchwiz 4.4.3.
Is this normal? Or should I get a new battery? If, so could you recommend a new battery for someone who hasn't needed an extended one before?
Thanks

Hi mate ,
Most of times the problem may be the charger or power line ( fluctuations ) , samsung stock or stock based kernels check on those fluctuations and decrease the charging current until is stable. Some kernels ( custom) allow you to disable this, see if you have that option if not try with another charger/cable and see if it gets better.
A new battery for sure will not hurt.......

Battery life worse after root.

I'm running simplerom on my n910f note 4. I've noticed lately that my screen on time is considerably worse than before.
I'm reaching maybe 4 hours now sometimes less, where as before I used to reach 5 and a half, pushing 6 hours.
My phone deep sleeps well with greenify and everything but I'm just wondering why my phone is performing so badly now?
AFAIK simplTEAM has done and still doing a great job with heavily debloated TW ROM. Its kinda strange though you should check the battery stats with Betterbatterystats... Xposed based mods could also be a reason for batter drain (if u r using xposed). Or perhaps simplROM team had intensivebatterymod in their V3 ROM (for N910C) you might wanna check their ROM thread for the same.

Is Downgrade Possible on N910C?

Hello,
So I've been wanting to downgrade back to android 4.4.4 mainly for better battery performance, because ever since it went 5.0.1 and up the battery went downhill fast. However, I've been reading that the N910C got a locked bootloader after android 5.1.1, is there anyway to downgrade the bootloader so I could downgrade to android 4.4.4?
Thank you in advance!

My battery is 2 months old, nothing has changed since I replaced my 2 year old original battery with the new one, except the phone doesn't turn off randomly at 30% now.

You got powersaving mode, ultra powersaving mode,USE THEM dude while your device in pocket or on idle.
I got 5+ hours screen on time .
Disable touch vibration
Disable keypad light.
Reduce brightness manually.
Turnoff gps, wifi, mobile data, when you are not using phone.
Use dark black wallpaper.
Remove widgets from homescreen.
Use greenify to hibernate apps.
Uninstall/disable apps you dont use.
Your battery is perfect just you have to be smart how to save.

Make sure the new battery is purchased direct from Samsung or a reputable carrier, or get a Powerbear or Anker. Lots of fakes/cheap rubbish about.
I'm on Marshmallow and get 5-6 hours screen on time with WiFi and Bluetooth on all day. 6 month old battery from Samsung UK.

Brand new OEM battery and believe me when I say I tried tu use the damn phone in a most efficient way possible, even airplane mode when not in use, same crap, terrible battery life. When I bought it couple months after release, with 4.4.4 the battery was just amazing, like 10-12 hours of screen on time, now I barely get 2 hours with EVERYTHING on power saving mode and MAX EFFICIENCY use battery wise...

I donno about n910c but i have n910t and i tried every single rom kk lollipop mm maximum screen on time i get 5 hours on kitkat and mm 4.5 hours and the worse is lollipop 3 hours.
I went all the way from 4.4.4 to 6.0.1 update by update as they were rolled out, every single update it got worse and worse, 5.0.1 was just obnoxiously terrible, then 5.1.1 kinda bit better compared to 5.0.1 but still crap, 6.0.1 brought in Doze, but that didn't seem to affect anything too much, so pretty much from 5.0.1 forward, battery is just stupidly terrible, I charge the phone 3 times a day on average...

Extreme battery drain on oreo

Hi
I have an g9350 (china edge) and i bought it, as you can guess, in China. At first it was ok, holded battery for 2-3 days of semi-usage.
When i returned back home, i installed an s9 ported 8.0 oreo rom. (Aurora v32) (my stock was 7.0 N)
Then, my battery drain got much stronger, and my phone can't keep even a day on semi-usage, with battery saving turned on!
I tried going to detailed battery info to check what was draining the battery buuuut..... there isn't such option on oreo 8.0 (what?)
So, I would really like to stay on oreo, since I like it, but I need to find the solution to extreme battery drain.
Anyone know anything that may help me?
Maybe it is related to the ported Rom or the Kernel.
Have you tried to flash a Stock Oreo Rom and check the Battery drain again?
