Hi all,
I've received this amazing phone 1 week ago and the first time I switched it on I've received the 202 update. Well, my problem is the led for notification not working at all; it works only during loading (red) e and when battery is fully charger (green). I can also change color in these 2 step but no other notification are coming from the led. So nor email or whatsapp notifications nor text. This is pretty annoying because I really used the led in my previous samsung s5 during office time. I can't every 10 minutes unlock andcheck iif there is something I've missed. Tried a factory reset and flashed again the full 202 rom. No way, it doesn't work. I'veaalso tried third party apps like light flow or light manager but with no results.
Any idea? Am I the only one with this issue?
Thx for you kind answer.
Andrea
My notification LED works perfect and so do some of my friends'. Have you tried a factory reset just in case?
Yes I did. Factory reset and new flash of the full 202 oxygen. No way.
Pretty weird bud. If the LED does work for charging, this can only be software-related.. Did you dirty flash O2OS when you reflashed it?
I made a system wipe including davilk and cache. If it dirty or clean?
Well that resets all system defaults so if that doesn't work either, I suggest opening a ticket with the Customer Support. I'm all out of ideas on what could possibly cause this.
How does it work? I've no idea... That means to ship the phone back to oneplus and wait like 3 4 weeks to get it back?

Yeah, head to http://support.oneplus.net and open up a ticket. Ask what they recommend you should do with your issue. They'll probably ask you to make a video and/or reflash O2OS so maybe make a video and tell them you've done the flashing part already. If they recommend you an RMA, follow the steps.

Try contacting the reseller. You've got no direct warranty so I hope the seller you chose has a decent CS and warranty policy..
Hi, any news on this issue? I have the same problem with mine. Can't remember the last time it worked, but I got stuck in a bootloop (trying to relock the bootloader) after which I completely reflashed the phone to unbrick it. I came from the htc one m8 with a ridiculously small led, so I'm kinda used to not having a notification led, but it's still a handy feature to have. So please, if you've solved it, kindly share with us.

Yes, I did fix it!
the procedure is quite easy.
1) factory reset from Settings, Backup and Reset
2) Let the phone complete the booting
3) when it asks for a google account skip it and let the phone start, without the restore of your google account
4) try to send to yourself a sms or an email and et voilà, your led will be magically working again!
5) Add your google account and restore your back up when asked.
6) that's it.
it worked for any user with this issue so I assume it will work also for you.
hope it helps
let me know
andrea
P.S.: what it doesn't work is if, for example in whatsapp, you choose different color from the standard one (blue green or red) for example purple, it starts with blue, then red and eventually purple...like if it split the purple with the 2 colors that are part of the purple. Non a big issue but still no explanation for that. So I keep only standard colors and I'm ok with that...maybe it works also the white color but not 100% sure

I got my blackstone yesterday. Excitedly opened it up, fiddled with it a while, and flashed a new rom. It was a while before i realised that the phone woudlnt vibrate. Im pretty sure its a hardware fault, but just wanted to check here to make sure I havent missed something.
The phone wont vibrate, even when being called / txted with vibrate mode on. I also understand the hardware buttons are sposed to have some kind of haptic feedback or minivibrate, but this doesent work either.
I searched through all the settings, and couldnt find any magical turn on vibrate feature buttton. Vibrate notification is definately turned on, and so is the vibrate profile. I inittialy installed Panoshas Black Pearl rom. I tried a hard reset, and then also flashed the Dutty rom, and finally the original rom to see if it that worked.
Can anyone point out an obvious mistake ive made? Or am I gonna have to send my lovely blackstone back?
Thnx in advance.
Hmmm...you've already tried flashing a new rom and if you still have the same problem, send it in. It's still spanking new, shouldn't be a problem getting it rectified....or better yet ....replaced!
Was it vibrating when you recieve it, on it's original ROM ?

thnx for your response, i think ill probably do that.
its pretty annoying to have to send it back already lol, but its worth it to have a working vibrate.
A Second Opinion
Yep, I got my Blackstone a week ago today and it vibrated just fine out the box. I have not flashed any new ROMs, but I have installed plenty of programs including .net 3.5 and mobilmagic button stuff and hd tweak, installed and uninstalled advanced config and a few keyboards, the list goes on. Long story short, my vibrate doesn't work either! I think this is due to my tampering with it though, I really do. Also, I saw another post where someone had the same problem, he ended up getting his to work after playing with .net 3.5, hard resetting more than once and soft resetting too. So try that, let me know what you find out! I plan to hard reset and flash new ROMs soon, so I figured maybe these problems would go away then. Oh and, anybody else have a problem where their end key doesn't end the call, ? This is such a tinkerer's toy, lol!
Probably a good warning about flashing ROMs! Did you backup your original ROM? I think you will need to restore your original ROM before you send it back for "repair". (Otherwise it is likely you will be charged for any work/replacement - justifiably!)
Before you despair, what ROM did you flash it with? Have you contacted the developer about it? It may be a setting in a tweak you don't know you've installed. Have you tried playing Tweeter (the vibration feedback when the ball collides with a wall will indicate a working/non-working vibrator).
Rather than just offer bad news to you and tell you it's your own fault, here is a helpful tut on How to backup ROM, albeit a little late maybe. It may not be all doom and gloom - some kind soul may be able to offer you their backup ROM (particular to your mobile provider) which you can use to restore it to factory default before testing for the vibrate and/or sending it back for a fix. Who is your provider and what original ROM do you need?

thanks for the tip. i fiddled with .net framework 3.5 and more hard resets, and altho i have installed hdtweak and advconfig a couple times, ive done multiple clean flashes without them and it still dont work. in fact - as i said above, im 90% sure it never did work, so im convinced its a hardware fault.
i hope yours wroks after a rom flash, but i think mine is gonna have to go back...

yeah - i definately played tweeter even before flashing any roms, and there was no vibrate - so i guess that proves it really is the hardware.
i bought my phone from mobilephonesdirect, but have my rom backed up, so should be ok.
ta for the offer tho.
Mine was the opposite, it wouldn't stop vibrating, even when switched off.
You had to take the battery out to get it to stop.

yes I would love for you to keep me updated, I purchased mine through ebay from addictedtophones.com, which is out of California. They seemed like nice people but they sure aren't wanting to help my broken vibrate after only 8 days! That is just sad my friend. I have also contacted UK and US support and HTC global repair service. They have indicated that they are looking in to it. Apparently the US section may not have the resources to work on the device. I requested that they replace the phone, if they couldn't work on it ASAP, the person seemed to agree and put the request forward. I hope that helps your situation. I spent too much for a broken stone!

I received my new replacement Touch HD in the mail a little bit ago, it vibrates. It must have been a hardware issue best I can tell. I just about had to send it off to HTC, but I finally got the retailer to replace it. It actually took a lot of crap just to get HTC USA GLOBAL repair center to want to accept the idea but, I called UK HTC and they called HQ in Taiwan or somewhere and got something done. So if you need some help, Ive got a few contacts that can help, anyone can just let me know. I hope this doesn't become a widespread infection.

I'd say it's probably a hardware issue. My first HD also didn't vibrate, and had to exchange for a new one. Probably some issues with one of the batches.

Hi, i got huge problem with my N1
Yesterday night I'v plugged my phone to charging by PC USB cable (PC switched off) and went sleep. When I wake up first I sow blue color of charging led (should be green or red), when I unplugging my phone led is still blue (this led is blue even in bootloader and recovery). After that I realize my power button doesn't work and later about I can't playing any music from speaker But I can hear all notifications. When i try call someone i can't hear anything but in speaker mode yes
Anyone know what is going on?!
What mean that blue color?
Help!!!!
P.S. I did full wipe (data+cache+ext) and flash ROM again, no different.
To be honest i dont know. But from the sounds of it, blue LED may mean "something is wrong". Maybe you have some corupt NAND? Or a Southbridge issue..... Not entirely sure. (I dont even know if ARM based devices have a SB/NB).
Sorry i couldn't help. But best of luck with finding out more about the problem.....
did you try wipe everything and reflash new/same rom ?
i suggest you do a nandroid bakcup and try it

I personally think that isn't going to help(although should be done anyway), as changing the charging LED is fairly low level stuff (IE, it works without Android), so i think its hardware related and not so much software related (although software could have attributed to the issue)
So then this should be a no brainer.... call HTC

Agreed. Please let us know what they say just incase that happens to one of us.
So I got some bad news
There is an area on my Nexus 4 that receives no touch input. Either that, or it is extremely inconsistent. This is the section right about where the bottom row of icons are located, directly above the on-screen navigation buttons.
I tried installing this "fix" for touch sensitivity, but it did not fix the specific problem I am having. And I noticed this problem before I tried that fix, so it was not a result of that.
I am about to try a full system reset to see if that helps. Hopefully it will. I will post back if it does.
If I have to send it back to Google, what process would I need to go through to make sure they don't know I rooted? Just unroot? Or would I also have to lock the bootloader as well? And would a full system reset do all of that? Or do I need to go back and use the toolkit?
Here is a video I just shot showing the problem:
EDIT: And unfortunately a full reset just made it worse

very interesting......
I would definitely RMA that. It's clearly an issue. I just ran the same touch tests you did in the video and have none of those same problems. The screen recognizes my touch even at the very bottom of the screen where the nav bar starts.
As for unrooting/re-lockingt he bootloader, just use Wug's toolkit:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2015469
This worked flawlessly for me to unroot and re-lock the bootloader of my first N4 before sending it back to them. The toolkit is very straight forward.
I tried using the Nexus 4 toolkit to restore to a factory image, but I am getting an error every time it tries to download it
EDIT: I am about to try that other toolkit posted above ^^^

Just make sure you follow the step by step guide for installing the proper drivers and uninstalling rogue ones before trying to unroot/lock the bootloader. It is super easy just make sure you read all the instructions and follow them to a T. After doing that the toolkit will work perfectly for you moving forward. Even with your next N4. I used it again today to root my replacement N4.
I encountered a MAJOR problem!
I did the flash stock + unroot part and that worked fine. But I am completely stuck on the last part.
Now I need to lock the bootloader again. In order to do that, I have to have USB debugging turn on. The problem is that in order to turn it on, I have to get into the phone. But I am stuck on the initial phone setup! The only way to move past the stage I am stuck on is to click an arrow, but the arrow is in the dead zone and the dead zone just got worse! I can't move on!
Anybody have any advice? I am totally stuck.
EDIT: Got it! At that stage I put the phone in landscape to avoid the dead area. Then the Android tutorial came out and I couldn't get out of it to go to settings and enable USB debugging mode. So I went to the lockscreen, after 20 tries got Google now pulled up, and was able to type in settings to open it up and enable USB debugging mode. Finally got the bootloader locked. Should I be good to send it back to Google now?

I hava the same issue
I have same issue in the same area of display, but my is sporadic, it's not present all the time. It comes and goes. I removed front protector, issue was still present. Then I removed back protector and did a factory reset, and now it's gone for 5 days. It's bought in Canada, and I'm from Serbia so it's a little tricky for me to send it for RMA because now I am not sure if the issue is realy hardware type. I run it in safe mode and it behave same.
Sometimes if goes totaly crazy with tens of simoultanous touches around non working stripe. Lock unlock and it's gone.
Tafak?!?? Don't know what to do...
My Asus TF300T has been starting to act up lately. When I access the settings menu faint grey lines start to appear which run across the screen. When I change to portrait the lines disappear for a split-second and then reappear black. When accessing Google Play I see the same thing. The power menu and other menus appear to have a pixelated background and are 'blocky'. It also happens in the ASUS File Manager on the white background (faint lines).
I am confused as to what's causing them. It appears to me to be a graphics-related issue as I have taken screenshots and viewed them on my computer and they appear pixelated on the TF300T but not on my computer. I have cold booted and performed a full factory reset. I have also switched to Safe Mode with no change (lines still appearing). I am using the Jelly Bean 4.2 launcher and am stock. The tablet hasn't been dropped and has been protected. It's only 4 months old and I bought it from Argos in the UK.
It's a shame because I like this tablet
Thanks.

If it were mine I would use App Backup. Be sure to check apps and data and when presented check copy to external sdcard.
Download stock firmware 4.2(10.6.1.8), unzip once and place on internal sdcard. If you don't receive the update notice in three minutes reboot tablet and wait another three. When you get the update notice accept and wait for completion as usual.
Good Luck!
Note: This should help decide whether it is hardware or software.

You can rename it US_epad-user-10.4.4.20 or what ever that previous version of firmware was pretty sure it was that. When update comes up it will say if want to downgrade and accept but it will just reinstall you're current version. Now not sure if your unlocked as when i did this for a random reboot issue i was unlocked but worked for me and acts just like an update everything else should be the same but do backups just to be safe.
Correction thats US_epad-epad-user-10.4.2.20 and us as doesnt have to be that if WW then use that or etc. Hope that works
And as for unlocking may not want to do that as it will void warranty if need to send it in but sure everyone know that.

It works for me, I have used that method several times including 10.6.1.8 and 10.4.2.20. You can also upgrade and downgrade this way if you have Asus stock recovery.

I've placed the blob file in the latest firmware's zip folder from the (4.1 )10.4.2.20 firmware in another zip folder on the tablets root storage and nothing. I called the file WW_epaduser_10_4_2_20_UpdateLauncher.zip - any suggestions?

Exactly what are you trying to do. All you have to do is raname the latest update zip after download and unzipping once from the 10.6.1.8.zip or cant remember exactly but what ever it is to WW_epad-user-10.4.2.20.zip
That the way most use and seems to work. No need to replace the blob file or etc just renaming the latest update zip to that should work and after maybe sometime either rebooting or waiting couple mins for it to show up in notfication bar. Replaceing the file inside the update zip its self may affect the signature or etc and may not work even if option does come up. Another way after placing on root of sdcard or internal storage which is what i do is just remove and replace the sdcard should pop up right away.
Yea just placing the blob file into a zip folder and naming it that wouldnt work as it checks for signatures atleast unless unlocked but not totally sure on that. Try what i had stated if your trying to downgrade take the 4.1.1 update file and name it WW_epad-user-10.4.2.20.zip or just rename the latest update zip to that works every time for me.
Tell you the truth it does sound more like a hardware problem just reflashing the update is a way to be sure. I'd more in the way of thinking of sending it in for service in your case atleast if you still have warranty i would. I've been through 2 seperat device still get random reboot with this new update tried reflashing couple times etc fixes temporarly but seems to come back almost considering sending to asus my self at this point since have warranty. Usually the best bet.

Thanks - It also sounds like a hardware problem to me but it's worth a try. In the UK if you return it within 6 months you may receive a replacement. I could also RMA the tablet.
I'll post back soon.

Good luck also hope it works like said method should just not sure if would fix the problem could be something with your nvidia chip that process' your video sort of what it sounds like to me or something atleast is affecting your video. Like said i posted a link for you with people experiencing these types of problems just give it a read through most replace there lcds and mainboard or digitizers depending on what it is because they have no warranty but they probably would know what the problem is if you asked. As you said you can exchange it i'd just go for that my self.

Well like said atleast you know now sucks i didn't fix it but didn't sound like it would. Was worth a try. Hope the new one turns up no problems should i was ok after.
Just before I return it to the store tomorrow I am still questioning the cause of the problem. The strange thing is that it doesn't appear on everything. Just on some gradients and backgrounds. Also, Google Now force closes and so does Email. I downgraded but my data was left intact, so I reset the device but the problem still persists.
Just a last final try before it goes back

Tell you the truth I'm not totally sure what the issue can be. It could be a number of thing but in the case of my old tf300 before i exchanged I had what looked like a finger print under the screen. Just sort of a smudge about the size of an eraser head. On black screens where screen was on like as when it starts up or loading an app it would show but since it was light colored It wouldn't show on most others. Not sure if that's the case for you but when I sent it back to Newegg they determined it was a problem with the lcd screen, maybe dead pixels they said.
In your case if you have option to just go to store I'd just do that and save your self the trouble. If other wise bought it online then maybe worth trying to figure out because also in my case Newegg took about a week of testing it before approving the exchange also I should mention there couple other problems with it. Not sure what else you can try if you had already downgraded which in most cases erases everything not sure whynit didn't for you I'm not sure what else to do. One other thing is to try ,aybe holding down the reset butoon on left side of tablet in the hole under the volume buttons. I posted a link earlier on lcd and pcb problem thread maybe you can try to ask some one there, they probably would know more most of them are fermiliar with hardware issues so might be able to tell you if it is or not but as i said might just he easier returning it and start fresh. Good luck and sorry I can't help more.
Just in case theres the harware issues thread again.

Thanks again
I tried the reset hole but the paper clip just goes straight in?
I've just downgraded to 4.1 and the lines disappeared. I then downloaded an OTA for Android 4.2 for the lines to then reappear.
I am about to downgrade again the then download the 4.2 firmware file instead of downloading the update OTA (in case the update file is corrupted).

Thanks.

You might try hitting it with some circuit cooler (with the cover removed of course) to see if its heat related - an upside down can of liquid air would do it. Problem is, if it is heat related, you need to provide better heat sinking, which likely means ripping your warranty sticker to get access to the IC's underneath the copper heat sink in attempt to provide better heat dissipation with thermal compound or something.
Reseating the video connector to see if its a bad connection is another viable option without creating evidence of tampering and potentially voiding warranty.
Hope this helps.
My Note 3 died on me recently. The screen flashed lots of colours and went off. If I boot it up, sometimes the screen works for a few seconds, then it 'crackles' with colours and goes off again.
I think the phone itself still runs, but you can't see. I took it to an official Samsung repair place, we thought just the screen needed replacing, but the new screen did the same. They think the main board has gone, which looks quite expensive.
If I boot into recovery, can I get a backup from it with the screen off using the command prompt? There's only a few apps I would like the data from.
I'm thinking I might do this, then buy a cheap 2nd hand Note 3 and sell this one for spares/repairs. (I have no warranty)
Through ADB you can copy data from phone.
Thanks, can you give any detail on how?
