My Windows 10 experience has been smooth, except that recently, my laptop will not connect to any WiFi, as it randomly disconnects, or says that the connection is limited. This even happens on my home network. Does anyone have a fix?
Me too Have the same problem. For me problem is on drivers.
I have the same problem on Acer notebook. I KNOW the problem is in software (drivers, or Win 10). I've ran Linux Mint from flash drive and WiFi speed became 10 times faster

Hi all - when I first got my Shift I was able to connect to my home WiFi and see all the others around me too. Now, having liberated, un liberated, isntalled XP, uninstaleld XP, reset Vsita about 5 times my WiFi just will not see or connect to any networks.
The device manager shows everything and last night after some random tinkering in their it suddenly burst into life for about 40 seconds and then stopped.
Addtionally, network connections tend to freeze while WiFi is fudging around trying to work...cannot open any network windows etc. Also when in this state Vista cannot close down properly - stops at the last screen and stays there.
Is it at all possible in my playing I could have damaged the chip or any internal software on it (does it have a rom?)....drivers always install OK and as I say device mgr seems alright too.
Or am I just dumb when it comes to Vista networking? I've never liked it and maybe I'm doing something that is stopping the whole wifi thing from working?
My router is a Linksys one and works OK with o0ur other PC's...and I know it's more than just a potential router issue because normally the shift would see my neighbours network too - now, it's a blank.
Any ideas at all would be great - thanks in advance. FF
Ok, so I've had issues with vista and pam before, but I have a new one, that I can't find anything about on google, on here, or anywhere else so far. I have a laptop with vista 64 home premium that I can PAM with mogul's ICS using my phone or my wife's (both are on the unlimited PAM plan.) My wife's laptop runs vista 32 home premium, and both of our phones have an identical issue when trying to tether with it, meaning its not an issue with the phones. When connecting to PAM on her laptop, 7/10 time, it will go through the steps, and when the vista networking gets done with identifying, pulling an IP from the phone ICS, and checking for connectivity (which vista does by pinging a server by domain name to determine that the DNS is working in addition to the network being open) it will be up for a split second, then disconnect. Sometimes it will disconnect after Identifying, but before making the connectivity check. The rest of the time, it connects and works fine. We have tested other cables, and recently I tested it under safe mode with networking, and made my first progress.
Under Safe mode with networking, it will connect perfectly every time. The hard part now, is I do not know what program or device conflict could be causing it to disconnect immediately after completing connection. Has anyone had this issue and found any other programs or hardware to interfere?
I haven't had this proble in specific but I did have a problem with using ICS in vista to let my PS3 go online via my laptop using the mogule as my internet connection, in one instant it actually gave me the blue screen of death. I have to say that with Ubuntu and Vista the best way to use the phone as modem is to run ICS (on the phone) and hit connect (I'm speaking about the usb method) the phone will say check cable or something and then hook the cable up. This way has eliminated the quick disconnect witch i experience in Ubuntu a few times.
Hope this help
I use a laptop to connect wirelessly to a modem but my brother connects to the modem through an ethernet cable (for his laptop). Whenever I'm connected to the internet alone, it works fine. But, once my brother turns on the computer and connects to the internet, the connection crashes. It takes roughly 3 minutes to fix itself, but it crashes a few minutes later. If one person turns off the computer, the internet connection becomes stable again.
This problem started about two days ago, but the modem has been there for a few years, the laptops are not recently bought, so there really were no changes that I know of that could have affected the modem to crash like that.
This problem gets really annoying and any help would be great. Thanks
Has anyone seen this problem?
My HD2 disables the PC's WiFi each time I sync.
When I take the cable out of the HD2 the PC's WiFi network will go down and I have to go into device manager and re-enable the WiFi network card, sometimes even this won't work and I have to reboot the PC.
It also very often happens when I connect the cable but usually a troubleshooting of the network problems will restart the WiFi and fix without rebooting.
The thing is that my TyTN II works perfectly and always has, it is only the HD2 that I have the problems with.
I have tried several HD2 ROMs and I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate on my PC.
I did a search of the forums, (not easy when you can only do one search each 30 seconds) but could not find anything, searches for 'disabled pc wifi' only bring up the good old connecting to router problems.
Any ideas anyone?

I'm having the same exact issue. It's driving me crazy. Every time I plug my HD2 to the computer, my wireless internet goes down. Anyone know what's going on?
I've kind of fixed mine. I tried different USB ports which re-installed the drivers each time. One of the ports at the back of my PC seems to be fairly stable although I do still lose WiFi occasionally but it's tolerable.

A little more digging and I've found these two threads, which were helpful.

Something very strange...
I just bought a T-Mobile HD2, and I just plugged it in to my desktop to begin modding... Strange thing is, my desktop is having a hell of a time keeping up with the phone. I can never get a USB connection on it. I ended up having to do all the hacking on my Macbook Pro running Windows 7 in Bootcamp. So the issue is that when I connect it to my desktop which natively runs Windows 7, the phone charges, but Zune and the Mobile Device Center both report that the phone is not connected. And to make things even more aggravating, every time I connect the phone, my wifi connection on the desktop drops off. As soon as I disconnect the phone, wifi eventually comes back with some prompting. What am I doing wrong??
sounds like as screwed up machine to be honest
could be, but I've seen others with this same problem as well. If it is my machine, maybe someone knows what I can do to fix it?
