Hi,
I have a problem with my Find 5: I am stuck in a bootloop. The Oppo logo appears and after only a few seconds disappears, the phone vibrates and then the logo appears again. And this goes on and on.
I can get into recovery and fastboot but the real problem ist that my Find 5 will turn of again after maybe one minute into recovery. I tried it with CWM and TWRP. When I want to turn on the phone or get into recovery without being charged, nothing happens.
Before that I haven’t used the Find 5 because the USB-Port was broken and it would not charge. Even if the phone had a connection, its battery percentage would not increase at all. Then I ordered a new battery and a new USB-Port. I installed the new parts and suddenly the phone started to work again. I flashed a new nightly of CM 12 and installed some apps. The next day (it was charging over night) I unplugged the phone at 30%.
When I looked at the battery chart, I could see that the battery percentage did not decrease and also not increase while plugged into the charger. Then after some normal use, the battery percentage jumped from 14% directly to 0% and the phone turned off a few seconds later. When I charged it, it was stuck in a bootloop again. First it took about 30 seconds between the reboots and after the Oppo logo disappeared I could see that it i charging but after some minutes the reboots got faster (every 8 or 9 seconds).
So I am having the same problems with the new parts again but I don’t know why because it worked for some time…
It seems that the battery is broken again but how can it be? It was a brand new battery and it worked for one nearly full charge. Are there some common mistakes when replacing the battery that I could have made to cause my problem? I don’t know what to do and I want to try everything that is possible before getting a new phone.
Edit: Now I know where the problem is (or where it is not) but I have no idea what to do against it. The problem lies somewhere in the mainboard. Because when the charger is plugged in the phone will start to reboot again and again so the cable between USB-port and mainboard should be ok. But the battery is not charging. The phone worked with the new battery for a while because it was already charged when I built it in. And now since the battery is empty again I am experiencing the same problem as before again.
So does anyone have an idea? Where is the exact problem and can I fix it without spending much money on it?
Thanks for your help
Sam

Everything was just fine until yesterday when i realized the batterty's built-in monitor wasn't reading a real batt stat. I was sure I was running out of charge and the divice was still saying there was 50% left. I did a soft reset and my atom didn't boot. I took the battery off and waited more than 3 hours, put it back and couldn't boot. I haven't ever done anything to my mobile. No register tweacks, fisical hits or rom upgrades. I searched the web and found a procedure to get it back. Reset+camera choose 1 option and there you go with your device booting at last. I did so but when it ended whith the system loading proces it sent a notification saying that the battery was exhausted and it went off. Again it couldn't boot in a normal way even with the ac adaptor plugged in. I made sure the battery was fully charged. I did a bootloader again (reseat+camera) with the usb connected and i could get it back again but showing 0% battery indicator and would turn off as soon as i unpluged it. I tested the battery with a multimeter and even when it was fully charged i tried to recharge it until green light then i turned it on and the batt monitor was 100%. I could unpluged the usb and everything was fine. It didn't turn off but the indicator got stock in 100%. After an hour or so of normal use i was sure the battery was 90% or less while it was still indicating 100% of charge. I did a soft reset and couldn't boot again. I think the device knows when the battery is 100% charged but when it is less tha 100% and i do a soft or cold reseat the mobile thinks the battery is 0% and won't boot.
Yes, I have ugraded to ROM Xda-Atom-Exec-ENG-20060721-MOT0822 to see if this fixes it but now i have a rom-upgraded aton exec with the same fatal error.
I am at work rigth now and hopping my atom doesn't need a soft reset because if so i need to plug it in in order to be able to do a reseat+camera and wait some minutes until green ligth shows up. My atom knows 0% or 100% of battery charge but no numbers in beetwin.
Any ideas?
did you charge the battery for 8 hours on first use, continuing to discharge battery completely first three charges?
This is crucial for battery performance I now get at least three days of moderate usage and at least 7 days in standby, my advice is go buy a new battery follow the instruction manual completely, failing any changes (be sure to buy battery from somewhere you can get refunded) return the battery. Try also reflashing using bootloader mode, not using the SD card!
The last time i used bootloader was after hard reset a no card inside then i performed the last ROM upgrede available from O2. It seems to be a hardware problem more than a software problem as i thought at the begining.
I hope you are rigth, i guess the device gets charge information from the battery and the battery is telling it when it is 100% and 0% when it is under 100% and after a soft or cold reset. I am going to drain the battery all the way down and recharge it up to green light to see what happens. By the way i did not charge the battery 8 hrs when new.
Where do you think my atom is geting the batt charge information? From one of its inside sensors or from batt circuits?
Thaks for your advice.
I mean reflash using bootloader mode, ie. enter bootloader then plug in USB and run DSUU installer from your PC. Its hard to say where the fault lies, some Atom's had power management issues and O2 are fully aware of it, if yours is still under warranty I suggest sending it to a service center but be prepared to be without it for at least a month! (should change their name to SLOW2) and also be prepared to have it returned to you only to find they havent done a damn thing!
Its a bad battery, same thing happened to me. Just return it for a new one, the material is moulded with the smart chip inside there is no way to fix it.
Now my battery is beetwin 100% and 85%. I have searched other forums and i found out it is definitly a battery issue. It has been more than 6 months since i bougth my Atom so i have no more battery garanty. I thing i am going to wait before i buy a new one in orther to get the most of it since it still last more than 2 days.
Thanks for the information.
when a battery xp-02 (for atom family) is sometime stop at certain percentage, says 72% for long time, i do a soft reset and it drops to says 40%, is it a symptom of bad battery? or it is a ROM problem?
My girlfriend's phone randomly died and now won't charge. The phone previously had a battery problem and at&t sent a new battery. Could it be hardware causing the battery issues? The phone is on a boot loop saying samsung then showing a white battery with a plug with a slash over the plug. It previously showed the battery with a yellow caution next to it.
Any suggestions?????
Time to get replacement device.
All the best.

Yes, get someone else's battery and test it in that phone. I had this issue with a friend's Focus, and it turned out that it didn't want to charge the battery in the phone anymore. Was fixed by buying an external battery charger, the battery charged outside the phone just fine and after that everything worked fine.
If this is post-Mango update,
try restarting couple of times,
remove the battery for 2-3 mins, then restart,
if still doesnt help, try resetting,
if still not then proceed as adviced by other users.
Battery Not Charging Issue on My Phone got fixed by simply restarting it twice.
I installed the typhon couple of weeks ago the only issue i had it used to reboot by itself multiple times then works good yesterday it was off and does not work or recharge and there is no sign of power in it any ideas
1. DESCRIBE YOUR CASE IN MORE DETAIL.
How can we help you if we don't know what happened
Perhaps the battery died, and cannot charge because magldr cannot charge when phone is off.
Any chance to test another battery? Or, get old USB lead, cut end off, red to + black to - on battery, wait 1 minute, then battery back in phone see if powers on.
the battery was charged and the details is that the only symptom i had that it used to restart by itself and do it multiple times i thought it might be a software issue cuz i installed it but it seems it more any other advice
Hello people!
I've had my Nexus 7 for about 4 months now, and it started having battery problems a couple of weeks ago.
After the battery had drained completely, it wouldn't charge at all. I followed some steps to solve this problem, and managed to get it up again, but after that, charging it has been a nightmare.
To sum up:
When my tablet is on and plugged in, it shows that it's charging, but the battery slowly drains even if I don't use it for hours. If the tablet is off and plugged in it shows that it's charging, but it is not.
After it's completely drained, I have to go through the whole recovery mode, turn off, thirty second button push process to revive the tablet (which otherwise does not work at all) and let it charge while off. After that the tablet works fine, but does not charge.
I even did a factory reset, but nothing happened. Also I'm using the charger that came with the tablet.
Should I ask for a new one with my Guarantee or is there a fix for my problem?
maybe its some internal issue, if it came with a warranty. maybe go to the place where you bought it and see if they will replace it with a working N 7.
Stock .21 firmware. Never tried any other ROMs. Battery went down to 1% last night, charged it on stock charger to 30% then moved it to a different charger. An hour after that I got a call, I hanged up and about 1 hour later I heard the phone buzzing every 30 sec or so, I looked at it and realized it's in bootloop. If I press Vol- and Power I can get it in fastboot and with Vol+ and Power in Recovery. Can't figure out what to do from there though.
Update: Pressed -+ and left it the whole day in that mode. Came home, and it booted up and looked fine for about 3 minutes then it shut down by itself. It seems to me that there's some sort of memory/storage corruption. Any suggestions on how to proceed from here?
Phone booted normally and I was able to use it for about 12 hours. I was doing a Whatsapp backup this morning when it shut down and got into the bootloop again.

If you are using stock, immediately get rid of your usb c cable and buy a new one. There could be an issue with the cable that is causing problems with your battery.
Try to keep the charge percentage between 20% and 80%
Finally, your battery stats may be off. To resolve a battery stats issue you will need to reset the phone. Which again, if you are using stock and have never used a custom rom. You should definitely do a factory reset.
Same issue on 2 different chargers with 2 different cables that used to work well until now. None of the cables are stock. One of the chargers is stock, the other one aftermarket. My wife's S3 doesn't have any issues using the same cables and chargers. Issue seems to be happening when battery is full or almost full. Phone gets into a soft reset bootloop. I let it drain yesterday and was able to get in and do a factory reset. I then added my account and left it installing and updating apps overnight, while connected to the charger. Woke up with the phone off and after pressing power for 12 sec it got into the bootloop again. As you can imagine, it's impossible to keep the battery under 80%. Would it help if I try a custom rom? Maybe a new battery? I'm open to any suggestions as I really like this phone and can't find anything similar at a reasonable price.
So phone still reboots when battery is high. I can however get into Fastboot Mode and Tool All-In-One detects it. Tried to unlock the bootloader in the tool but it failed. I'm willing to try anything to get the phone back up and running but not sure where to start. Would really appreciate some guidance.
It really sounds like the battery is bad. You can buy a new battery for $8 .
If you replace the battery : Do NOT use a hairdryer to remove the screen. You will need a heat gun, they cost 7 dollars at harbor freight.
With a heat gun the lcd screen will practically fall off into your gloved hand.
I was going to offer to connect remotely and help with unlocking the bootloader and installing TWRP, Root and a Rom. But I sincerely believe that you need to get a new battery first.
