Hello,
I've currently had my 8252 for about 30 days now and everything has been running smooth but recently just last night I've ran into a problem with my slider. It has seemed to have "popped out of the socket" somehow on one side which leaves it flapping...At&T offered no help only a charge of 400 dollars to replace the device. Is there a way I could dismantle the device and fix this myself or has anyone else ran into this type of problem ?

Please note that disassembly WILL VOID WARRANTY....
Also, this covers Complete Disassembly, just do what you need to do to fix problems. also, search the wiki on how to fix the runners.. Cheers
Hey Guys, Can anyone help ?
I plugged my phone in to charge overnight like normal and when i unplugged it next morning the screen will not respond to taps. There are no cracks or damage to the screen and it hasnt had a bump.
A hard reset gets me as far as the calibration screen but again, cant do it.
Does anyone either have any ideas or can anyone recommend a good repair place in the uk ??
thanks.
Andy

Hi Andy,
If you are familiar with rom flashing you could try it before sending to repair in case it's software related.
Good luck
Arrrrrrggghhh-bloody backlight/touch bricked!
I have the same issue and it's driving me nuts!!
pressing the screen bottom left quite hard puts the backlight back on but it goes off as soon as I take my finger off.
Having done a web search, it appears that this may be a firmware issue, but if so, why, after 9 months of trouble free use, has it only just happened?
I'd be very interested if anyone else has solved this issue. Is there patch or is it a hardware issue?
My otherwise excellent touch is effectively bricked-any help or suggestions at all would be appreciated!
A fix (sort of)
I bit the bullet and ordered a replacement LCD module online and fitted it. It worked, proving that there was indeed an issue with the original. Problem is, the quality of the new one is really bad so DON'T buy a replacement online is my advice. I've now sent my beloved Touch back to HTC to get it fixed...
Hopefully I'll have it back and working soon.
FIXED !
i know this is gonna sound weird but i bought a BENQ_E72 while my touch wasnt working and i kinda forgot about the touch in the meantime. Yesterday i came back to the touch and lo and behold its working perfectly. Screen align is working, taps are going through and i cant see a problem.
Now i have read a thread about the Digitizer filling up with dust and yes my front case does have 2 hairline cracks in it so i am thinking a strip apart, new case and clean and go from there if it does it again. Odd how leaving it to discharge compleely for a couple of months has 'cured' the problem
Just thought i would share this with you

After installing the new screen, is it possible the sensor fell out of its slot? Maybe the bezel is blocking it and it's not seeing out its designated hole.
Just a hunch.

Hi all. My G2 screen had a small crack while ago because i dropped it (of cource) but the screen was working all fine until some part of the left top stopped working two days ago. But also the sam day I dropped the phone once again and screen got cracked even more. Now the other part of the screen that works doesnt seem to replay well to the touches so sometimes I have to shut down and start the screen (not phone).
Anywayz I wonder whats the best way to fix it? I searched for some screens for g2 on ebay so I can install it myself so it gets cheapers, but is there only the screen that needs to be changed of the phone? Any secure link to a cheap G2 if anyone got any?
this post is nowhere near specific enough to give you advice. What do u want? what are you looking for by posting this? Whats the point? Post something when you have something of value to post. If you're already going to fix it don't waste the space here telling us you're going to fix it, post here after you successfully fix it and give us the successful instructions. Those would be something we can use.
Hello all, I've got an odd situation I felt like sharing and I'm hoping for advice. I've got a J320A, not rooted. About a year ago got a black screen, touch works but no display. Tried all solutions short of getting a new screen but no luck so it was chucked aside. Was getting rid of some stuff recently and found it, removed cracked screen protector, put it to charge and it came on, worked flawlessly for 3 days and now back to same situation. Anyone can share any insight on this? Never seen it happen before.
