[Q] Recover Lost Private Mode data - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,
I am using a S5 G900H and I recently switched ROM from SpaceRocket v4 to Genesis ROM.
I had kept some photos and videos in Private Mode when I was using SpaceRocket, and after flashing Genesis ROM without taking a nandroid (I know, I am a fool), I couldn't get Private Mode to work because it had Xposed. So after installing XSecureStorage module, I tried turning Private Mode ON and it worked, but I am unable to see any of my photos in the Gallery.
Is my data completely lost and cannot be recovered?
Also in the Gallery, there are some thumbnails which are completely gray, and don't open at all.
Is there any way to recover those pictures?

BUMP
Anyone, please help.

Could try software for recovering lost photos, but chances are they're gone

Always backup first, as you now know

Private mode broken.

Does anyone have a definitive guide to fixing private mode? I hid some pictures before rooting and installing xposed (which broke private mode). I have Wanam's xsecurity module installed but it didn't fix private mode. If there is no way to fix it, where can I access the hidden files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi ,
OK , as far as i know Private mode is broken when you root .(my experience )
i have N910F device( Snap and rooted ,etc .)
I followed this post # 22 and # 32 @ angelky ,
yes it fixes S health, but also fixes Private mode ( link ) and it fixed my "lag " caused by Xposed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/xposed-t2904937/page3
I have seen other "fixes " Wanam thread/ fix
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/app-xshealth-bypass-secure-storage-t2878708
There is other threads with "fixes "also ..just choose which one to follow ?
good luck
I have tried pretty much everything I could find on XDA. Including wiping the phone, freezing the apps and then installing xposed. I guess there really isn't a proper fix
If you have previously configured Private Mode without Xposed Installed, then you can not access it anymore after installing this framework. But there is a method to make it work again without wiping all data.... Check this tutorial:

Hi,
Sorry but personally, the private mode was broken when I restored the data of system app with titanium backup. To solve it, I must factory reset and restore ONLY THE DATA OF USER APP.

[Q] Note 4 N910F - S pen Image clip problems

Hi all, I recently just updated my Note 4 to Lolipop 5.01 through Odin after formatting the phone in TWRP before installing. I also backed up my apps and reinstalled them with Titanium backup.
Whenever I try to use image clip with the S-pen and share an image to Whatsapp or Email, I get this message on the share via screen "No apps can perform this action." I attached images of the problem on the post. I was just wondering if anyone could help me with the problem as i'm quite clueless as to what the problem is,
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately you had to make a backup of the photos, now they're gone, remember to backup everything you need in the future.

Factory reset by mistake. How to recover eg photos and videos?

Hello
We wonder how to recover for example photos and videos from a factory reseted SM-G900F Android 5 non-rooted. So the problem is that is an non-rooted phone. And it is factory resetted once. And it was a long time it was resetted (2015 in may). But we want to try everything to get back our precius pictures from a vacation. On MS Windows you can use "eSupport UndeletePlus" to revocer files and use other software to recover eg deleted NTFS/FAT32 partitions. But i dont now how to do similar stuff in android, something with adb?
I have tried dr.fone toolkit but no success. See attachted image.
But i wonder what to do now without loss any more images. (The filesystem overwrites "deleted" files).
Should i try to get root permissions on the existing stock ROM and try apps like DiskDigger? Or should i flash a rooted ROM to the SM-G900F?
